We came for my birthday brunch and waited about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Once we were seated, they brought out a water bowl for our dog which was nice. Unfortunately, we didn't receive our own water until after our food arrived, and only after we flagged down a server. The bam bam burrito was yummy, especially their sauce. The raging bull skillet was flavorful as well. The medium rare steak was overly chewy for me, felt like chewing gum. My husband enjoyed it though, so it may come down to personal preference.

Didn't introduce themselves. Didn't ask if it was first time visiting, no explanation of the menu. Was pretty basic with taking order and checking up once and then the bill. No refill on empty water glasses even though they went to refill other tables. Food was ok at best if that. Presentation / plating was great with its different layers textures and sauces but overall tastes pretty disappointing. Order the Aussie scramble, sad to say best thing on the plate was the toast. The eggs were fluffy but had an off taste, tomato chutney was basically a tomato sauce, spinach leaves on top were ok and the majority were already bruised. Side of bacon extra crispy. The brekky potato lacked crisp and had more of an oily taste like it wasn't a hot enough pan used. The blueberry pancakes seem ok? Lacked the fluffiness and softness. The lemon custard was sweeter than expected but mix with the raspberry sauce provided that acidity needed to break up the sweetness. $53 meal didn't feel worth it. Sad to say should have probably gone somewhere else for better food. Ambiance yes but wouldn't return back for a dining experience.
Saw a reel on IG by the siblings duo Brooke.and.Ben and had to give this brunch spot a try and it did not disappoint. The food and drinks are delicious and beautifully presented! The berries GF pancakes, crab cakes and latte are some of our favorites. The ambience is so trendy and clean! The service by Katie is sweet and kind. Can't wait to come back when we are in the area...esp w/ SCP is right across the street!
We're really into food when it comes to actual real Organic food, high quality whole ingredients, seed oil free and all the things. Can believe we ran into this place THE BEST WE'VE EVER HAD. I'm not kidding we travel the entire world doing this. The service was professional quick and so friendly as well. This restaurant was no joke ABSOLUTELY one of the best tasting best representations and best high quality foods we've ever experienced. Best Matcha I've ever had. It's ceremonial grade from Japan. And they whisk it with bamboo! Best Pancakes ive ever had in my life hands down. I'm not exaggerating. All clean ingredients too! Best Pesto Chicken Sandwich ive ever had. Who ever designed the menu AAAA+++++

There are several parking spots right in front or you can park in the adjacent parking structure & get your ticket validated for the first 2 hours! Ordered the skillet + blueberry pancakes. Server was kind (Maddie) and will come again to try other menu items!
My bf and I have been to Outpost twice now and loved it both times. We've only been on Saturdays, prob one of their busiest days, but we still managed to get a table without reservation each time. Outdoor seatings are popular and usually very loud if they have large groups, we opted for inside today. Emily was our server, and she was super nice and awesome! Honestly, if people don't come here for the food, I would come here for the service because everyone is so nice! I love their food here, ingredients are fresh and their coffee and matcha are delish! I had my matcha both unsweetened and sweetened a bit and they were so good! We have our favs, like the protein bowl, steak, Super Bowl, avocado toast, and Aussie scramble, which we tried for the first time today just to support Oscar Piastri wining Pole position again in a race (Sprint Qatar today!!). Go Piastri!! My bf and I always make sure we come here for brunch whenever we stay at the Marriott because it's just a short stroll over. Parking can be tough but overall, great spot for food and drinks and hang out with your friends! This and Bluestone are my two fav Aussie spots!

Outpost kitchen is located near south coast plaza mall. It's on the bottom floor of a building with a private lot and I do believe they validate. They're Australian themed, but it was pretty much healthy western/ American breakfast offerings. Maybe I didn't have very high hopes of living this place because we only chose to come here out of convenience, but I'm so glad we dined here! Everything was so good and I'd come back for sure! We made a reservation on open table which was easy and efficient. I like that you could choose outside or inside, because both seating areas are nice, but it was a little chilly the day we went, so we decided to sit inside. The hostess was nice and friendly and our server was great. The inside is nicely decorated. Very modern and chic. They have a variety of drinks: coffee, tea, smoothies, juices and cocktails. My dad has his coffee refilled and the servers were all very nice and attentive. We ordered the date mate salad, the blueberry pancakes and the eggs, sausage and avocado skillet. Everything was so delicious. I don't even like pancakes normally, and gluten free pancakes are even more of a turn off for me, but I saw a table next to us had it and they looked good so we ordered it. They weren't necessarily fluffy or cakey, but I wasn't mad. The combination of blueberry and lemon sauce and pistachios was exquisite. For $16 for two pancakes (or $20 for 4), it's a little on the pricey side, but I'd come back for these! The date mate salad was also surprisingly good. It had a LOT of chicken. Chicken was alright, but the combo of herby greens, lemon vinaigrette, goat cheese crumbles and dates was amazing. I'm going to try to make this at home. The skillet had a lot of avocado and Hungarian sausage. The tasted bread that came with it was a perfect addition. I liked the tomato saucey eggs. They tasted spiced, but I'm not sure which spices were used. It was good though! Outpost kitchen is a great place for brunch if that's what you're looking for!
Absolutely loved this place! Outpost Kitchen ended up being one of our favorite stops of the whole trip. The vibe is bright, modern, and energetic without feeling chaotic, just a really happy place to sit down and enjoy a meal. We sat outside (November) and it was perfect. The coffee drinks? Incredible. Cocktails? Even better. You can tell they take their beverage game seriously because everything came out balanced, flavorful, and beautifully made. And the food..AMAZING. Fresh, flavorful, and presented like something off a brunch magazine cover. Every plate we saw looked good, and everything we ordered tasted even better. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was great, 100% recommend, good for families, girlfriend get together etc.
In a word underwhelming. Our group ordered the bestie potato bites which were surprisingly bland, I wish they fluffed up the potato or did something other than halve the potato and layer toppings on it, it was basically a baked potato and not what we expected. One friend ordered the bam bam burrito, a little undersalted but overall decent flavor, for the price she wouldn't order it again. My other friend ordered the ribeye and eggs and she left half her plate, the steak was the thinnest cut, more reminiscent of asada and while she ordered it medium it was very much well done, besides that the flavor didn't make up for the overcook so also a pass from her. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and millionaire bacon. The pancakes were the only star of the entire meal really nice flavor on the pancake itself and the sauces with the pistachio and blueberry toppings were a great accompaniment. The bacon however was flabby and not at all the quality I would expect from a restaurant. The staff when we were being helped were all kind but they scarcely checked up on us and based on where we were seated they didn't pass by often for us to be able to flag anyone down. This resulted in empty drinks the majority of the visit as well as us having to go inside to request the check. It did get busier as our meal progressed but being quick to turn tables becomes more important during that time and we felt mostly ignored, even when it was slower The plates all look gorgeous and while there were other menu options that look intriguing I'm not sure I would go back to try them given the majority of the meal was lackluster and at the end ran $124 which we didn't see the value in based on our experience
Very good food! I eat avocado toast quite a bit, and I would say this is top 3 for me all time! Service was great, super friendly staff and very welcoming. We sat outdoor, but the indoor is super nice too. Parking is kind of tight up front, but they have a structure and they comp the parking. Would recommend for breakfast/brunch!
I stopped by at 10am for brunch on Fathers Day. I made a reservation on OpenTable, so there was no need to wait. Service was kind of slow, but once I ordered, the food came out quickly. My boyfriend had the bam bam breakfast burrito and I ordered the avocado & sausage skillet. The burrito was very potato forward (not crispy, but seasoned well). I liked my dish, everything in it tasted super fresh. I also enjoyed my chocolate macadamia nut latte. It was plenty sweet even when I asked for half sweet, but I still enjoyed it. The Philz coffee next door is a cute spot to hang out at after a nice meal here. I would return with my dogs and sit in the patio! read more
I often pass this lively restaurant when going to Philz or Modern Pilates next door and finally tried this cute little brunch spot. Presentation and ambiance is better than the food, but it was still enjoyable. Sausage and Avocado Skillet - filling and soo full of avocado. The tomatoes made for a very saucy skillet and the toast was essential for dipping. Aussie Scramble - basic and haphazard combination of spinach, omelette, tomato sauce (with a cute Australian flag toothpick of course) Blueberry Pancakes - The raspberry sauce saved these thick pancakes for me. Lemon curd tasted like a sugar drizzle sans lemon. Too much food for two people but we couldn't pass on the gorgeous pancakes. Located in a tiny plaza with a parking structure and 2 hour validation. Host was very welcoming and helpful as we struggled to function with self seating. read more

Easy parking, lots of space. Came around 11pm on a Sunday morning, no wait time. Food came out piping hot. Service was okay. It was hard at times to get someone's attention. Food wasn't bad, but it wasn't blow your mind type. I think in the Aussie scramble, there was barely any chorizo. Would I get it again? Probably not. For price and actual enjoyment of food, I can't say I'd come back. 3/5 it wasn't terrible, just not for me. read more
This is without a doubt one of the best brunch spot here in Costa Mesa and I am shocked that I didn't know about this until this morning!! This wrap came ready to impress. Visually, it's a powerhouse--stuffed to the brim, sliced perfectly to show off layers of eggs, crispy bacon, melty cheddar, avo, and what looked like some grilled onions and maybe even sausage? All bundled up in a warm, golden tortilla. First bite? Flavors came through loud. Savory, smoky, cheesy, with a creamy hit from the avocado and just the right hint of spice. The texture was spot-on too: crisp bacon edges, soft scrambled eggs, and that warm tortilla holding it all together like a pro. Bonus points for the red sauce on the side--it had a tangy kick that added a nice punch. This wasn't just a breakfast wrap, it was a full-on flavor bomb. Solid portion, satisfying, and definitely one of those meals you think about later. Recommended . Nice brunch spot with an outdoor patio. Nice orange yolk from their egg, it was a delicious treat . Service was friendly and fast . The steak in my skillet was juicy and tender not dry and tough . The price point was expected for the area. Pictured below is the Raging Bull Skillet, $30 Lots of options for vegetarians. Their chicken is halal btw, plus points for that. read more

We came here for a late lunch with friends. The Matcha Martini was fantastic, and one of the best I've had! The Espresso Martini did not taste like real coffee, so wouldn't recommend getting this. For food, we shared the ribeye and eggs which was 10oz. The flavors were all good and the temperature came perfect. The Cali Katsu Bowl was really good as well! There is a large patio space and dog friendly. The service was a bit slow on the day we came but we had a very attentive waiter! read more

It was so nice of them, and they even changed my friends order last minute which was kind of them. Kudos to you guys. Cute little Australian inspired cafe in Costa Mesa across from South Coast Plaza. They serve all day breakfast and have a variety of healthy lunch options like bowls, sandwiches, & wraps. Parking can be tough as it's a tiny lot shared with Philz coffee, but there is a nearby parking structure with validated parking. We had a 12p weekday reservation and were seated right away with quick service & food arrival. I ordered the Date Mate salad (no goat cheese) & an iced oat milk vanilla latte. The coffee was solid, nothing crazy special to report, and the salad was a hearty size with a large portion of chicken & dates. Their drink menu looked amazing with fresh fruit juice cocktails so will need to come back! read more

Continently located just steps away from the Segrestrom Center and the South Coast Repertory this is definitely the place for brunch or lunch before a matinee. Sleek contemporary design. In door and outdoor patio dining. Good size parking lot in back or you could park at the garage for the center and walk over. Very large menu with lots of vegetarian, healthy options. This place gets crowded quickly. I recommend making a reservation. I started with a frothy cappuccino, very nice. The presentation of the food is amazing. We loved watching the waitstaff bring out entrees because they were all so beautifully presented. I had the Outpost power bowl. Very healthy, fresh and good. A friend ordered the chicken wrap and another friend ordered the breakfast egg tacos. Everything tasted fresh, healthy, and delicious. Lots of customers were drinking mimosas, I'll try that next time. A great brunch experience! read more
Came for lunch before a matinee show. The server was kind and quickly took our drink order. We settled on breakfast and had the blueberry pancakes and the avocado toast. Both were amazing, and if you're gluten sensitive, the pancakes are a MUST here! The combination of pistachios, fresh berries and lemon sauce is magic. The sauce on the avocado toast has a bit of a spicy kick which I enjoyed, but we ordered the eggs soft scrambled and they came out a little more "done" than we would have liked. We had also asked for extra plates to share these dishes and the server didn't come back to check on us so we did our best not to leave a complete mess. I'd recommend but know that the server who brings your meal might not be the one who took your order, and some communication might get lost on a busy Saturday lunch service. read more

3.5 stars overall This is a cute brunch spot, came with a group of 5 girls and we were able to make a reservation on Yelp! Got seated at a table. I ordered a kale salad with salmon. The pricing here is really high for brunch food. All the fishes are in the 20-30$ price range. The food itself was not bad but nothing super memorable! The salmon was very fresh and tasty and kale salad could use a tiny bit more dressing or other ingredients to add variety. Service was good overall. Parking in the lot may be limited as it's small, however there's a large adjacent parking structure that you can get 2 hour validation for. Given the price, I wouldn't come back here but it was a fine experience! read more
I'd always seen this place when going to Peets or the BeFit but I finally got a chance to try it with a friend the other day! He made a reservation online (although I'm not sure we needed one) and we sat outside. The tostinis were great, not a huge portion, but hit the spot for what I was looking for. I also had a nice hot matcha. There's a parking lot right there including a structure if the lot is full. The restaurant does validate too. Overall the ambiance was nice, it's on the louder side if you sit outside because of the street but still enjoyable! read more

The service was great, we were sat without a wait on around sunday brunch. We were able to sit outside, it had plenty of shade & umbrellas so the sun wasn't beaming down on us. Had a late brunch here on Sunday. Service was great. She was attentive and friendly. They had inside and outside seating. It was a little warm but outside was nice with the occasional breeze. They have some good menu options that can appeal to different palates. We all liked our food - wish they had French fries but they had diced potatoes that were tasty. They have a good selection of healthy options and made substitutions. It's family friendly too. read more

Hello, Currently my husband and I are doing the whole 30, would you be able to inform me what types of oils you cook with and also if your seasonings are sugar-free?
We use olive and avocado oils. There are no sugars in our seasonings except for Blueberry Pancakes, French Toast. Hope to see you soon
Where do you park to eat at this restaurant? Is it easy to park and to find the place?
There is parking in the lot out front and free parking for two hours in the parking structure. Just bring your ticket in and we will validate.

Do you serve both breakfast and lunch all day...or do you have timeframes for each menu?
Breakfast & Lunch all day, Monday - Friday. Dinner Thursday - Saturday beginning at 5PM. Weekend Brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's!
I don't see the blueberry pancakes on the menu anymore, can that still be ordered?
They have it. Went in Sunday and it's on their Sunday Brunch menu
Do they take reservations?
Yes . We take all reservations and we encourage you make one on the weekends as we tend to get quite busy and have long wait times ! :)
