Had a late brunch here on Sunday. Service was great. She was attentive and friendly. They had inside and outside seating. It was a little warm but outside was nice with the occasional breeze. They have some good menu options that can appeal to different palates. We all liked our food - wish they had French fries but they had diced potatoes that were tasty. They have a good selection of healthy options and made substitutions. It's family friendly too. read more

Continently located just steps away from the Segrestrom Center and the South Coast Repertory this is definitely the place for brunch or lunch before a matinee. Sleek contemporary design. In door and outdoor patio dining. Good size parking lot in back or you could park at the garage for the center and walk over. Very large menu with lots of vegetarian, healthy options. This place gets crowded quickly. I recommend making a reservation. I started with a frothy cappuccino, very nice. The presentation of the food is amazing. We loved watching the waitstaff bring out entrees because they were all so beautifully presented. I had the Outpost power bowl. Very healthy, fresh and good. A friend ordered the chicken wrap and another friend ordered the breakfast egg tacos. Everything tasted fresh, healthy, and delicious. Lots of customers were drinking mimosas, I'll try that next time. A great brunch experience! read more

I got a nitro cold brew . they don't have any sugar-free syrups because they are all made in the house with cane sugar. they offered Stevia and sugar in the raw packets. My friend got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. She didn't really like it and added some more sweetener. she chose the sugar in the raw packet which didn't dissolve properly. It was on the pricier side, especially my cold brew. i felt it was unreasonable, although I do acknowledge that it's nitro cold brew, which does cost more . The service was not very quick, but there were other customers sitting down and ordering meals so I understand that our to go coffee order is probably not priority. the staff were not very friendly. They offered two different types of straws. One of them was Eco friendly, which I love, and I also appreciated how it was not made of paper. i want to support the environment without drinking from paper! It was not difficult to find parking . there was not a lot of decoration. overall I wasn't so thrilled with my experience, but it wasn't inherently bad . i would like to come back and review more of their menu items if they invited me back read more

The service was great, we were sat without a wait on around sunday brunch. We were able to sit outside, it had plenty of shade & umbrellas so the sun wasn't beaming down on us. The food was delicious, we have got a bowl & a chicken sandwhich. & their coffee was also great! If I lived closer I would definitely visit again! read more

Outpost Kitchen offers American brunch and lunch dishes with coffees, juices and beer. It wasn't too busy when I arrived for an early lunch on a weekday, i asked to be seated outside on the patio. Ordered the steak and eggs, medium rare, with the breakfast potatoes with scrambled eggs. The steak was well seasoned but it came out medium instead. The potatoes were too chewy and some were hard as if they sat out for a while. The eggs were the best with a hint of rosemary flavor. The blueberry pancakes came highly recommended but it needed more sauce for the 3 bottom layers bc the top soaked up all the lemon and raspberry sauce so the bottom pancakes were a bit dry. Our food came out first before our serving plates and utensils but that's just a slight oversight. They offer 2 hour parking validation for the parking structure. read more

Overall Outpost is a good place. Quality ingredients, creative food entrees and mildly inviting atmosphere. Service is decent- sometimes they disappear for a little too long whether it's busy or moderately busy. The price for the food is slightly too high. The few times I been each time the food was a little cold. Today my food was the coldest it's been. I had to get up and find my server or just a staff member since it' was a while since anyone walked by. At least they were pleasant to assist and get me a new plate. For the price that is being paid, you assume it's for value. Value that includes efficiency to make sure food that is supposed to be hot (eggs and meat), versus what is typically a little more likely at a large restaurant chain. I consider going back but not towards the top of my list. If you haven't been I feel it's worth to try. read more

Loved this breakfast spot! It was pretty empty so we got sat quickly. Breakfast and lunch are served starting at 8, so it makes it a great place for brunch where some people want eggs and others want a burger. I got their chorizo burrito (bam bam) and it was everything i wanted! Cheesy, filled with potatoes, and i even got their salsa verde on the side. So good and really filling. The tortilla was slightly herby which tasted great! Everything LOOKS beautiful, too. A great spot for instagram pics or a date, Id suggest. We will come back and try more stuff, theyve got a full bar that we didnt even try! Next time for sure. Parking is validated, by the way. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning to enjoy brunch with some friends. Parking is easy, as there is a small lot next to the restaurant but also a parking structure with 2 hours validation. Ambiance was cute with greenery and modern designs inside. We were seated outside and service was friendly, answering any questions we had. Around the table, we ordered blueberry pancakes, turkey wrap, bam bam burrito, and I got the chicken pesto sandwich. Overall, everyone enjoyed their dish. My sandwich was good, but not too memorable. Love the food and ambiance. Unfortunately the service is terrible - and it's not that the servers aren't kind. They're always seemingly overwhelmed and understaffed. I come here all the time for the food but have to plead with my family because we could end up waiting 15-20 min for someone to take our order. Maybe another 10 min or so for someone to come check on us and give us silverware or a water refill. Hoping management sees this and steps it up! read more

Love the ambiance! The patio seating is a great spot especially when the weather is good. Service is ok. When they got busy, it took longer for food to come out. Salmon protein bowl - the salmon was a bit dry and I wish that there was more sauce for the soba noodles French toast - it was yummy. Bread edges were almost crunchy and the center was soft. Latte - I initially ordered a hot oatmilk latte but the coffee tasted burnt so I asked for them to make it iced instead and the iced version tasted smoother. Just finished brunch at Outpost Kitchen. We've been here several times and came back after a year. The menu has changed so we were excited to try some new dishes. First, food quality has dramatically declined, but pricing increased (not the reverse you want). Prices do not match the quality of the food. We ordered the turkey wrap (salty with zero flavors), yogurt (1-2 tablespoon of Greek yogurt) and the skillet (again, very salty). Honestly, you're better off eating at Norms with more tasty food, hearty portions and much better service at valuable prices. Their coffee doesn't taste good either... who messes up pm coffee?! Overall, beautiful dishes but no flavors... just like a hot girl with no personality and boring. read more

This was really a 3.5, but I rounded up to 4 stars. First, parking in the close lot is kind of small, but you can park at the structure next to it. Service was ok; server was good, but hostesses felt like they were slightly disdainful of us. However, it also felt like to that towards everyone so we didn't take it to heart. Food was your normal Cali fare, but the GF pancakes were amazing. They were so good they turned many who disdained gluten free items. read more

We came here to celebrate my fiancé's birthday with is family and it was such a cute place. I was able to make reservations online and they had a table ready and waiting for us. There was a parking structure connected to their lot that we parked at and was able to get validation and get free parking. We had a party of six and ordered items like their bacon, French toast, skillet, banana babe smoothie and their poke. Everything was really good and I felt that the portion sizes were good too. Came here over the weekend with a group of 15 and we were pretty disappointed. I agree with some of the other reviews- food looks good and presentation is great but flavor is seriously lacking. My husband and I shared the bam bam burrito and the turkey sandwhich and both were extremely bland. I asked for cholula and our waitress said they don't have it and the house salsa is spicy. It wasn't spicy at all in my opinion. Everything is overpriced on the menu as well- not really with the prices Service was another issue - our waitress didn't come by enough and didn't bring out our drinks in a timely manner. Then when we were trying to leave it took her 40 minutes to figure out how to split our check correctly. Overall not great and won't be coming back unfortunately. read more

Looking for a brunch spot that you can make a rezzy thru Open Table to guarantee a seat?! Look no further than this place! It's across Bristol from SCP with ample free parking in a small outdoor lot and adjacent parking structure (with validation). The menu has a ton of food choices and an extensive drink menu. I loved: House Congee Crab…read more Earl Grey Iced Latte Vox Pear Salad Parmesan Chicken Wings I really liked: Garlic Noodles Prawn Lychee Lemonade Lychee Lemonade Spicy I liked: Calamari Saltado Fries Filet Mignon The House Congee Crab was easily one of my favorites. There's a lot going on in the bowl, but all the flavors and ingredients come together really well without overpowering each other. Most importantly, they don't skimp on the crab. You can actually taste it throughout, and it adds so much to the congee. I also really enjoyed the Vox Pear Salad. Refreshing, crisp, and made with noticeably good-quality ingredients, it's a nice contrast to some of the heavier dishes on the table. The Parmesan Chicken Wings were another strong choice. They have a satisfying crunch on the outside while staying packed with flavor, making them very easy to keep reaching for. Garlic lovers should definitely consider the Garlic Noodles Prawn because the garlic does not hide in the background here. The noodles carry plenty of that garlicky flavor, while the large prawns hold their own and taste great alongside them. The Saltado Fries Filet Mignon were more middle of the pack for me. The filet came out medium with a good chew and plenty of flavor, but the fries could have used more crispiness. They weren't soggy, just softer than I would have preferred. The Calamari had a nicely seasoned, crispy coating as well, though some pieces leaned a little dry. For drinks, the Earl Grey Iced Latte is a must. Sweet, fragrant, and full of Earl Grey flavor, this was easily my favorite drink of the meal. Both Lychee Lemonades were enjoyable too, with enough lychee coming through that it doesn't get buried underneath the lemonade. There is some pulp in the drink, which I personally don't mind, but pulp haters should be aware. As for the spicy version, don't let its appearance scare you. The added spices make it look much more intimidating than it tastes because the actual heat level barely changes. Service ended up being a bit hit or miss. Dishes came out quickly, so we never spent much time waiting around for the next thing to arrive. The smaller details weren't quite as consistent, though. Water got spilled on our table at one point, and things like straws and utensils were occasionally forgotten. Vox has an interesting setup with a bar, traditional indoor seating, and an outdoor dining area that feels like a converted mall entrance. We chose to sit outside, which was pleasant and gave us plenty of space, but being right next to the street means some dust comes with the territory. Overall, the setting is a little unconventional, but the stronger dishes, especially that congee, made the meal worth it.

He explained that they had a wedding later that day and had to close at 1pm for set up. He still sat our party and was very kind, accommodating and helpful. He gave me a great tip and said when making cafe reservations, it's best to call ahead, because they do sometimes have event buy outs. As far as the ambiance, it is a really beautiful space. But, it was SO cold. It seemed like the AC was on full blast. The food was pretty good, but the menu seemed to change since I was there last.

She was rude and came off really disrespectful, and at one point said things that felt degrading. It made my boyfriend so uncomfortable that he actually left and went outside just to get away from it. Instead of calming things down, she got more aggressive and tried to intimidate me and my friend into leaving. She straight up told us to go and wouldn't even let me finish my martini. I had a long week and just wanted to relax, and that moment felt so unnecessary and frustrating. We still love Kitsch Bar, but that experience with Sofia was not okay and definitely left a bad impression. Hopefully it's not something others have to deal with.

As the night went on Kitsch Bar proves to be the hot spot I've heard about and I agree!

We just finished dinner and made an online reservation for Pioneer at 10pm. We arrive at 9:45 and per the instructions of the online reservation, we check in with the bald bartender. Baldie asked what time the reservation was for and we said 10. He then asked what time it was and we say 9:47. He responded I will see you at 10 then. His tone was absolutely rude and condescending. It definitely rubbed us the wrong way, but we let it slide as we were having a great night and didn't want this to kill our vibe. We wait outside until 10:02 and the hostess calls us in. We are seated and immediately notice that the music is quite loud. Not blaring, but definitely need to speak louder than normal to carry a conversation. The bar itself is dim and seating is very tight. Our waiter comes by a few minutes later and asks if we've been here before. We say yes (at least 3 times), but it's been about a year since our last visit. He begins to refresh our memory stating that they specialize in making variants of classics and that all cocktail are premade and simply garnished and served. Also, the menu doesn't include the cocktail's main spirit in the description because they want you to taste the described flavor profiles and not focus so much on the spirit itself. We ask for recommendations and follow his lead and also order bread and butter as a snack. We are chatting and having a good time when we notice it's been a while since we ordered, especially for premade cocktails. That's when the waiter comes around and says they lost our order and retake our order. When the cocktails arrive a few minutes later, the waiter states that they're giving us another order of bread and butter on the house and also giving us a discount for the inconvenience. We were surprised but happily thanked him. He did a great job at identifying the problem and fixed it even before we could mention it. This guy is awesome. The drinks are unique/different. They're good but not amazing. Cocktails/food are 3.5 out of 5. We finish and ask for the check. The waiter brings by the mobile credit card reader and leaves it at our table and says there's no rush. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Guess who comes back instead to close the bill? Baldie... and this is where it goes downhill. He says that they don't accept cash. My friend, being the goofball he is, says "are you sure?" and tries to insert the dollar bill into the chip reader slot. Baldie, having no sense of humor, literally says "you're pretty stupid aren't you?" We were all annoyed by that comment. Yes my friend is being stupid but obviously he's joking around. My friend then doubles down and said maybe it'll work if he slides the bill instead of inserting and he proceeds to slide the dollar bill through the credit card machine. Baldie then says "Wow, you really are stupid." At this point we were all like wtf, what kind of customer service is this. We simply insert our card and gave a shit tip, which I feel bad about because the actual waiter was AMAZING. So amazing, I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. What started as a great night turned into the most annoying experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Baldie if you're reading this, you shouldn't deal with customers at all. No customer service skills. No sense of humor. Stay behind the bar and pour your premade drinks. Better yet, I hope management reads this and decides you're more of a liability than an asset.
