    Sausage and Avocado Skillet
    An C.

I often pass this lively restaurant when going to Philz or Modern Pilates next door and finally tried this cute little brunch spot. Presentation and ambiance is better than the food, but it was still enjoyable. Sausage and Avocado Skillet - filling and soo full of avocado. The tomatoes made for a very saucy skillet and the toast was essential for dipping. Aussie Scramble - basic and haphazard combination of spinach, omelette, tomato sauce (with a cute Australian flag toothpick of course) Blueberry Pancakes - The raspberry sauce saved these thick pancakes for me. Lemon curd tasted like a sugar drizzle sans lemon. Too much food for two people but we couldn't pass on the gorgeous pancakes. Located in a tiny plaza with a parking structure and 2 hour validation. Host was very welcoming and helpful as we struggled to function with self seating.

Good spot, I've been here a couple times! Ingredients taste fresh and a good amount of options.

Great place for brunch with inside and outside seating. Unfortunately, their air conditioning was not working on a humid day and inside seating was very warm. They do have great cocktails and I enjoyed the Bloody Mary and a cold brew coffee . I made reservations, definitely recommended on a weekend and 2 hour parking available in parking garage if you don't find parking in small lot. I ordered avocado toast with 2 eggs (extra cost) that was tasty and would recommend. Good place to try out and friendly staff. I would definitely come back and try their pancakes...they look delicious.

We came for my birthday brunch and waited about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Once we were seated, they brought out a water bowl for our dog which was nice. Unfortunately, we didn't receive our own water until after our food arrived, and only after we flagged down a server. The bam bam burrito was yummy, especially their sauce. The raging bull skillet was flavorful as well. The medium rare steak was overly chewy for me, felt like chewing gum. My husband enjoyed it though, so it may come down to personal preference.

Food was exceptional! Great portions, quality meats cooked properly (medium steak juicy). Don't have corn tortillas only flour. Salmon nice and crisp on outside juicy inside. Blueberry matcha yum.. kinda sweet. Vegan options. Our server was nice .. front door greeters were so so. One had an attitude and one was bubbly. Asked for my ticket validated and no smile or response just grabbed ticket.. goes a long way. Parking can be tough but have a free lot for 2 hrs validated. Ambiance is fine.. up against a parking lot but indoor outdoor area. Cute bar and disco theme tile bathroom.

First time visitor Open parking lot or use the parking structure for 2 hours free validation Indoor and outdoor dining Dog friendly patio Industrial farmhouse modern clean spacious both indoor and outdoor Appear to have a full service bar Server was ok. Didn't introduce themselves. Didn't ask if it was first time visiting, no explanation of the menu. Was pretty basic with taking order and checking up once and then the bill. No refill on empty water glasses even though they went to refill other tables. Food was ok at best if that. Presentation / plating was great with its different layers textures and sauces but overall tastes pretty disappointing. Order the Aussie scramble, sad to say best thing on the plate was the toast. The eggs were fluffy but had an off taste, tomato chutney was basically a tomato sauce, spinach leaves on top were ok and the majority were already bruised. Side of bacon extra crispy. The brekky potato lacked crisp and had more of an oily taste like it wasn't a hot enough pan used. The blueberry pancakes seem ok? Lacked the fluffiness and softness. The lemon custard was sweeter than expected but mix with the raspberry sauce provided that acidity needed to break up the sweetness. $53 meal didn't feel worth it. Sad to say should have probably gone somewhere else for better food. Ambiance yes but wouldn't return back for a dining experience.

My bf and I have been to Outpost twice now and loved it both times. We've only been on Saturdays, prob one of their busiest days, but we still managed to get a table without reservation each time. Outdoor seatings are popular and usually very loud if they have large groups, we opted for inside today. Emily was our server, and she was super nice and awesome! Honestly, if people don't come here for the food, I would come here for the service because everyone is so nice! I love their food here, ingredients are fresh and their coffee and matcha are delish! I had my matcha both unsweetened and sweetened a bit and they were so good! We have our favs, like the protein bowl, steak, Super Bowl, avocado toast, and Aussie scramble, which we tried for the first time today just to support Oscar Piastri wining Pole position again in a race (Sprint Qatar today!!). Go Piastri!! My bf and I always make sure we come here for brunch whenever we stay at the Marriott because it's just a short stroll over. Parking can be tough but overall, great spot for food and drinks and hang out with your friends! This and Bluestone are my two fav Aussie spots!

In the same plaza as Philz Coffee right across South Coast Plaza! There are several parking spots right in front or you can park in the adjacent parking structure & get your ticket validated for the first 2 hours! Ordered the skillet + blueberry pancakes. Server was kind (Maddie) and will come again to try other menu items!

Parking is limited outside, but you can park in the parking structure (2-hour validation is provided by the restaurant). The place gets really packed for brunch, so expect a wait. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but it can get crowded when walking through tables. I ordered the Aussie Scramble and it was really good! The toast was super tasty, with it being well-toasted and not too hard to bite. The eggs, spinach, and avocado were all delicious and well-seasoned together. Recommendation(s): - Aussie Scramble Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Park inside the parking structure and get a 2-hour validation from the restaurant - Restrooms available - Gets pretty crowded, so expect a wait

Outpost kitchen is located near south coast plaza mall. It's on the bottom floor of a building with a private lot and I do believe they validate. They're Australian themed, but it was pretty much healthy western/ American breakfast offerings. Maybe I didn't have very high hopes of living this place because we only chose to come here out of convenience, but I'm so glad we dined here! Everything was so good and I'd come back for sure! We made a reservation on open table which was easy and efficient. I like that you could choose outside or inside, because both seating areas are nice, but it was a little chilly the day we went, so we decided to sit inside. The hostess was nice and friendly and our server was great. The inside is nicely decorated. Very modern and chic. They have a variety of drinks: coffee, tea, smoothies, juices and cocktails. My dad has his coffee refilled and the servers were all very nice and attentive. We ordered the date mate salad, the blueberry pancakes and the eggs, sausage and avocado skillet. Everything was so delicious. I don't even like pancakes normally, and gluten free pancakes are even more of a turn off for me, but I saw a table next to us had it and they looked good so we ordered it. They weren't necessarily fluffy or cakey, but I wasn't mad. The combination of blueberry and lemon sauce and pistachios was exquisite. For $16 for two pancakes (or $20 for 4), it's a little on the pricey side, but I'd come back for these! The date mate salad was also surprisingly good. It had a LOT of chicken. Chicken was alright, but the combo of herby greens, lemon vinaigrette, goat cheese crumbles and dates was amazing. I'm going to try to make this at home. The skillet had a lot of avocado and Hungarian sausage. The tasted bread that came with it was a perfect addition. I liked the tomato saucey eggs. They tasted spiced, but I'm not sure which spices were used. It was good though! Outpost kitchen is a great place for brunch if that's what you're looking for!

We're really into food when it comes to actual real Organic food, high quality whole ingredients, seed oil free and all the things. Can believe we ran into this place THE BEST WE'VE EVER HAD. I'm not kidding we travel the entire world doing this. The service was professional quick and so friendly as well. This restaurant was no joke ABSOLUTELY one of the best tasting best representations and best high quality foods we've ever experienced. Best Matcha I've ever had. It's ceremonial grade from Japan. And they whisk it with bamboo! Best Pancakes ive ever had in my life hands down. I'm not exaggerating. All clean ingredients too! Best Pesto Chicken Sandwich ive ever had. Who ever designed the menu AAAA+++++

Absolutely loved this place! Outpost Kitchen ended up being one of our favorite stops of the whole trip. The vibe is bright, modern, and energetic without feeling chaotic, just a really happy place to sit down and enjoy a meal. We sat outside (November) and it was perfect. The coffee drinks? Incredible. Cocktails? Even better. You can tell they take their beverage game seriously because everything came out balanced, flavorful, and beautifully made. And the food..AMAZING. Fresh, flavorful, and presented like something off a brunch magazine cover. Every plate we saw looked good, and everything we ordered tasted even better. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was great, 100% recommend, good for families, girlfriend get together etc.

I loved: House Congee Crab…read more Earl Grey Iced Latte Vox Pear Salad Parmesan Chicken Wings I really liked: Garlic Noodles Prawn Lychee Lemonade Lychee Lemonade Spicy I liked: Calamari Saltado Fries Filet Mignon The House Congee Crab was easily one of my favorites. There's a lot going on in the bowl, but all the flavors and ingredients come together really well without overpowering each other. Most importantly, they don't skimp on the crab. You can actually taste it throughout, and it adds so much to the congee. I also really enjoyed the Vox Pear Salad. Refreshing, crisp, and made with noticeably good-quality ingredients, it's a nice contrast to some of the heavier dishes on the table. The Parmesan Chicken Wings were another strong choice. They have a satisfying crunch on the outside while staying packed with flavor, making them very easy to keep reaching for. Garlic lovers should definitely consider the Garlic Noodles Prawn because the garlic does not hide in the background here. The noodles carry plenty of that garlicky flavor, while the large prawns hold their own and taste great alongside them. The Saltado Fries Filet Mignon were more middle of the pack for me. The filet came out medium with a good chew and plenty of flavor, but the fries could have used more crispiness. They weren't soggy, just softer than I would have preferred. The Calamari had a nicely seasoned, crispy coating as well, though some pieces leaned a little dry. For drinks, the Earl Grey Iced Latte is a must. Sweet, fragrant, and full of Earl Grey flavor, this was easily my favorite drink of the meal. Both Lychee Lemonades were enjoyable too, with enough lychee coming through that it doesn't get buried underneath the lemonade. There is some pulp in the drink, which I personally don't mind, but pulp haters should be aware. As for the spicy version, don't let its appearance scare you. The added spices make it look much more intimidating than it tastes because the actual heat level barely changes. Service ended up being a bit hit or miss. Dishes came out quickly, so we never spent much time waiting around for the next thing to arrive. The smaller details weren't quite as consistent, though. Water got spilled on our table at one point, and things like straws and utensils were occasionally forgotten. Vox has an interesting setup with a bar, traditional indoor seating, and an outdoor dining area that feels like a converted mall entrance. We chose to sit outside, which was pleasant and gave us plenty of space, but being right next to the street means some dust comes with the territory. Overall, the setting is a little unconventional, but the stronger dishes, especially that congee, made the meal worth it.

We ordered the calamari, chicken wings (Parmesan that came with garlic), hamachi tostada, ribeye garlic noodles, shrimp and pork wontons (steamed) and the seasonal special scallops. The food was amazing!!! The calamari was pretty average, but had a good portion size!! We ordered 2 hamachi tostadas because they were so good. The tuna was fresh, the sauces were amazing, and the crunch of the tostada was amazing! Highly recommend! The garlic noodles were an 8/10. Steak was good and the noodles were a good portion. Chicken wings were very flavorful and the parm/garlic made it. Highly recommend! The wontons were also an 8/10. Really good flavor/sauce in the dish also recommended. The scallops were memorable. They were on the special menu and it was trulyyyy so delicious and just as fresh as the tostada. I hope they still have it cause you need to try it and the flavors. It was my bf birthday and they gave him a matcha cheesecake with caramel drizzle. It was the perfect size and not too rich or sweet. Delectable our experience was amazing overall and the outdoor seating was very nice under the tree with nice lighting.

We just finished dinner and made an online reservation for Pioneer at 10pm. We arrive at 9:45 and per the instructions of the online reservation, we check in with the bald bartender. Baldie asked what time the reservation was for and we said 10. He then asked what time it was and we say 9:47. He responded I will see you at 10 then. His tone was absolutely rude and condescending. It definitely rubbed us the wrong way, but we let it slide as we were having a great night and didn't want this to kill our vibe. We wait outside until 10:02 and the hostess calls us in. We are seated and immediately notice that the music is quite loud. Not blaring, but definitely need to speak louder than normal to carry a conversation. The bar itself is dim and seating is very tight. Our waiter comes by a few minutes later and asks if we've been here before. We say yes (at least 3 times), but it's been about a year since our last visit. He begins to refresh our memory stating that they specialize in making variants of classics and that all cocktail are premade and simply garnished and served. Also, the menu doesn't include the cocktail's main spirit in the description because they want you to taste the described flavor profiles and not focus so much on the spirit itself. We ask for recommendations and follow his lead and also order bread and butter as a snack. We are chatting and having a good time when we notice it's been a while since we ordered, especially for premade cocktails. That's when the waiter comes around and says they lost our order and retake our order. When the cocktails arrive a few minutes later, the waiter states that they're giving us another order of bread and butter on the house and also giving us a discount for the inconvenience. We were surprised but happily thanked him. He did a great job at identifying the problem and fixed it even before we could mention it. This guy is awesome. The drinks are unique/different. They're good but not amazing. Cocktails/food are 3.5 out of 5. We finish and ask for the check. The waiter brings by the mobile credit card reader and leaves it at our table and says there's no rush. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Guess who comes back instead to close the bill? Baldie... and this is where it goes downhill. He says that they don't accept cash. My friend, being the goofball he is, says "are you sure?" and tries to insert the dollar bill into the chip reader slot. Baldie, having no sense of humor, literally says "you're pretty stupid aren't you?" We were all annoyed by that comment. Yes my friend is being stupid but obviously he's joking around. My friend then doubles down and said maybe it'll work if he slides the bill instead of inserting and he proceeds to slide the dollar bill through the credit card machine. Baldie then says "Wow, you really are stupid." At this point we were all like wtf, what kind of customer service is this. We simply insert our card and gave a shit tip, which I feel bad about because the actual waiter was AMAZING. So amazing, I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. What started as a great night turned into the most annoying experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Baldie if you're reading this, you shouldn't deal with customers at all. No customer service skills. No sense of humor. Stay behind the bar and pour your premade drinks. Better yet, I hope management reads this and decides you're more of a liability than an asset.
