I have been told my reviews are too harsh. That I expect too much, and that I need to be more positive about reviewing local restaurants. Five stars are easy peasy, if the restaurant I'm at is up to the level of Seasons 52. I have had many special meals and get togethers with my friends and relatives, and this place is always the same: perfection. It starts with the interior, then the staff, the menu, and the meal. Everything here is perfect. The prices are very reasonable. The meals are all under 600 calories. They have specials. Their food is so good. If you looked up in a dictionary the word perfection, this place wouldv be there. One of the very best places in Orange County. Tonight our meal took a bit longer than usual, so what did they do? the sea scallops were perfectly charred with smokiness and the meat was still tender, not overcooked. the pork chops were highly recommended and super tender and flavorful. tried a variety of mini cakes w/ my favorite being the key lime pie. i do wish for all the cakes with the "shortbread/pie" crust part had some butter so it didn't just become a crumble when trying to scoop it out to eat. had a table outside which was quieter and stayed warm with the nearby heating lamps. read more

once again read my other reviews for the full experience of this restaurant. Do keep in mind this is a chain but every location has slightly different menus given they are all about fresh and seasonal. On top of that the menu changes every couple of months, which for me is nice because every time I come here I experience something a little different. Do keep in mind this particular location I've been here enough now that I notice some patterns. there's going to be a seasonal fish that is featured. There's also going to be some kind of stuffed mushroom which I like because I like mushrooms. They always have scallops which are always cooked to perfection. I often order that added on to the entree. There will be at least one steak dish and a chicken and a pork dish. they always feature on the appetizers the lump crab cake. it is what it sounds like, a large lump of crab that is breaded. To me it's not a true crab cake but rather a lump of fresh crab that's breaded and fried. It's ok if you're in to that. The one dish I was curious enough to try today was their Kona crusted lamb loin. I don't usually order lamb unless it's an Indian or middle eastern restaurant. I like lamb but it's not exactly something I crave. so how they explained it was that the Kona was basically using coffee grounds as a dry rub on the meat. So I got curious and ordered it. The grounds basically add a slightly different texture and adds a slight bitterness. Sort of like char from a grill. It was ok and interesting but what stood out the most was the fact that the meat was so perfectly cooked and so flavorful and tender that it overpowered whatever the grounds added to the meat. so I would recommend this solely on the basis of how perfectly tender and flavorful the meat was. read more

Happy hour was great with their $14 flatbread and sip menu at the bar. Enjoyed my Cosmo. We both ordered our filet mignon medium and it was brought to us 90% well done. My partner didn't want to make a big deal about it. I did mention it to our waitress when she asked how our meal was. The manager came over which we appreciated. At the very end of our meal there was a couple with a head turning two year-old who was very loud and disruptive. The embarrassed mother brought the child outside twice and when we were exiting we saw one of the assistant managers happily interacting with the child and couple. It was a very pleasant scene to see that involvement. read more

Such an incredible spot to go to for a special day! We celebrated my birthday at Seasons and had such an amazing time! We ordered all sorts of dishes like their Mac n' cheese, loaded potatoes, shrimp filled mushrooms, pesto chicken flatbread, gnocchi, side scallops, and their strawberry spinach salad! The highlights were definitely the scallops as well as the loaded potatoes. For people who are health conscious, this spot is amazing because they keep each dish under 600 calories. It definitely makes for a guilt-free experience to enjoy tasty food! I'm looking forward to my next visit! read more

I've probably only been here less than 5 times. The last time was for a birthday for a table of 9. I showed up first and checked in with a cake at the front. The table was set up and ready to go. The party trinkled in within 15 minutes. We ordered drinks and appetizers to start. We had several appetizers including the grilled artichoke, 2 flatbread pizzas, stuffed mushrooms, and the tuna poke. Who knew artichoke could be so delicious? I definitely wouldn't be able to make it that way at home. I also enjoyed the stuffed mushroom and although several people said the tuna didn't taste fresh, I thought it was decent. We ordered an array of entrees as well. I ordered the scallops and added on a lobster tail for $14 which i thought was a good deal. The party agreed the portions here were generous. I was expecting to receive 3-5 pieces of scallops in my entree, but it actually came with 7 pieces and some risotto and asparagus. I was able to share the scallops with friends so that they could enjoy it too. I was very full by the end of the meal, but we ordered 3 dessert glasses to try out and we had a birthday cake to share. I would add that my lemon drop cocktail was not sweet, so I asked to have it remade sweeter and they were able to accommodate just fine. When the cake came out, the restaurant provided candles which was nice and the birthday person got an additional dessert glass and birthday candle to blow out. The only thing is we had to ask for dessert plates and knife/utensils after the cake was brought out and was sitting for awhile. My phone ran out of batteries during the meal, so I wasn't able to take as many pics. The meal was great though and I would consider coming back! read more

Came here with my brother visiting from WA since this is one of our go to places to swing by for a delicious meal. We had a very nice dinner out on the patio where we enjoyed the roasted brussel sprouts, the scallops and risotto, the Chilean Seabass and the pork chop. My Chilean Seabass was amazing, a definite 5. My husband's pork chop was supposed to be cooked to a medium but it was more medium well so not quite as tender as he would have liked so he gave it a 3. My brother enjoyed his scallops too which is one of my "go to" dishes. We finished off our meal with a carrot cake dessert which we love the small sized desserts, just enough to satisfy our sweet tooth. All in all a great meal here. One thing to note, today it took a while for our food to come out which is unusual. I'm not sure if they were trying to accommodate the tables that were going to a nearby play but we waited a good 35-40 minutes so I would rate the promptness of service a 2.5 today. All in all I still think Seasons 52 is a solid 4. read more

My colleague was in town and we met at Season 52 restaurant. It's a beautiful restaurant evoking classic style and ambience with a decor of dark wood and mood lighting at every table. I say all this because it's so noticeable upon walking in as most restaurants these days have a decor completely opposite. Also, they have outdoor seating as well. Still though it's about the food. First they boast that their menu is "seasonal"...highlighting items that are more likely found in season (in this case winter). It's not an overwrought menu, one page for everything...the opposite page for all the adult beverage options. For appetizers we shared: Cauliflower as gratin-think macNcheese without the Mac. The Brussels sprouts were crispy and delicious. For dinner: My colleague ordered the porcini mushroom soup and rated it among the best soups he's ever had and had the same sentiment for the pork chop entree. Me, I got the salmon ( on plank) with a side Cesar salad. I would say the the Cesar was the least impressive, it had croutons and lettuce and that's all that can be said. The salmon was cooked well and served with crispy beans and soft mini potatoes. Overall, a filling, delicious meal. Lastly, their desserts are small, compact and parfait style...offering a sweet ending to a meal while consuming something lower in calories(500 ish per parfait serving) than the average slice of dessert at other place. I chose the cannoli and peanut butter while my colleague chose the pecan...we both agreed they were delicious! This was my first time at this restaurant (as well as for my colleague) and we came away impressed and satisfied. The service was attentive and good...we got seated right away before our actual reservation time. Overall a great experience and if I'm in the area a place to recommend or return. read more

My sister from another mister lives in San Diego, so Season's 52 has become our go-to for celebrations. The quality of the food is consistently good, the martinis are perfect, and the exceptional service is also consistent. On a recent visit we received excellent service from bartender Ashley and our sever Jose. I noticed a message on the check that said, "Proudly served by" and that's true. Got the crab cake, pesto chicken and mozzarella flatbread, cauliflower gratin, Brussels sprouts, tuna tartar to share and enjoyed everything. The cauliflower was a standout item, everything else I would get again but would be open to trying something different as well. For my main I got the scallops. They were nicely cooked, not chewy at all and had good flavor. I really enjoyed the risotto as well, it complemented the scallops well. I chose the raspberry chocolate chip cannoli for the mini dessert and really enjoyed it. I went for this one cuz I didn't want a super rich and heavy flavor, and this one had a nice balance of tartness and richness from the cannoli filling. Would definitely want to the other flavors next time because they really did all sound good. For cocktails, I got the Hawaiian pineapple cosmo and blood orange margarita. I loved that they left you with the shaker with the leftover extra of the cosmo. They didn't do that with the marg. I enjoyed both. I also tried my friends cucumber basil smash and surprisingly really loved that one and wanna get that one next time I go. It was a sweet, smooth, and refreshing taste rather than being actually cucumbery in flavor if that makes sense. Like the cucumber melon version of cucumber. Granted, I was in a bigger group, and so the service was predictably slow, but still, you wouldn't expect to have to wait about an hour and 20 minutes before we could put our order in from the menu Prices are reasonable for a higher-end restaurant, although the lamb chop that I ordered was prepared way overdone, considering the fact that I ordered it rare. It was more like medium to medium well. I also ordered a Caesar salad that was sizable volume, but on the definitive, salty side and a little overdressed. We had the Cabernet Sauvignon 'sip' and Chardonnay 'sip'. The cab was great, fruity and tasty. The Chard was lackluster, no butter, no depth. But the portion of 'sip' was great. Was particularly helpful never let our glasses get empty and very helpful about service and recommendations. The front desk ladies were less so. The philly cheesesteak flatbread was my favorite. We also had the meatball appetizer which came with three meatballs. Again, very tasty and hearty. My main dish was a brined pork chop that was cooked perfectly, very tender and full of flavor. It reminded me of the Playground pork chop back in the day, but this was a much smaller version. Came to seasons 52 for my birthday and was not disappointed. My husband surprised me with dinner to begin. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated promptly once our full party had arrived. They were extremely friendly and had good conversation on the way to the table, unlike other places where it's just a follow the leader sort of style. It's always nice to ask how the day was even if it's just brief. I love to come during fall and winter because the seasonal items are some of my favorite. You really cannot go wrong with any of the food items or the drinks. I had the espresso martini and my husband got the seasonal old fashion which was very good! I forgot to take photos of the food. I've been meeting my cousin for lunch here once a month, so I thought I'd better get to reviewing it! I've never had unacceptable service nor disappointing food. This time, we shared the crab cake as an appetizer. It had just the right ratio of crab meat to what holds the cake together, and it was delicious! My cousin had the spinach and strawberry salad, she added a skewer of scallops, which were cooked to perfection. I ordered the wood-grilled tenderloin salad, it was chock full of wonderful things: corn, red peppers, cherry tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, along with the lettuce and fresh spinach, and the beef was tender and cooked perfectly! We saved room for dessert, a bargain at $4, each little concoction is so rich that the serving is just enough. The menu changes seasonally, and each dish is guaranteed not to exceed 585 calories! It's located in an awkward corner of the mall. Excellent wine list, with pairing on the food menu. The Gnocci was piping hot and the mushrooms helped give it an earthy flavor. The salmon on cedar plank was cooked to perfection and the green beans were nice and crisp. The little spuds were tasty and melted in your mouth. Filet mignon and lobster tail- a bit overcooked on the medium rare steak but lobster tail was perfectly cooked. It wasn't drenched in butter and not rubbery 8/10 Corn soup- surprisingly really good. It had bacon bites , but not many corn bits 9/10 Lump crab with shrimp in mushrooms- wow these were so good! It's a must try ! 10/10 Wood-Grilled Kona-Crusted Lamb Loin- very different than what I'm used to for lamb. It was seasoned thickly like a steak. A bit overcooked from medium rare, Not gamey . Their Flatbread and Sip deal is amazing at only $14 you get to pick any flatbread and any sip from their list including wine, sangria and cocktails. Had a lovely outdoor dining experience before going to the theater. Boy! I'm glad I made reservations for a 5pm meal. The place got/was packed. My table guest and I split the flatbread as a starter and then the shrimp and grits. It was plenty for us both! Besides, we wanted to save room for dessert. Someone dropped the ball on my request for no red peppers, on the flatbread, but again- they were swamped. Our friendly (and patient!) server Nicholas was delightful and provided swift service while still meeting our needs (aka demands-- my guest was pretty direct). He also brought two wine samples helping me make a decision. I went with a St. Michelle Chardonnay. The shrimp and grits was great! Hint: Order a side of pita- as the sauce is very very yummy and you're going to want to clean the plate! The pecan pie was perfection...and super thrilled it's served in such a way that you don't over do and go into sugar shock. Def worth the calories. Exceptionally great as always! They never skip a beat here and keep pumping along great service and great food! We truly appreciate our visits when we stop in as we seem to know several of the staff. Everyone always make us feel welcome! Arriving just after 3 PM, we decide to sit at the bar, our normal spots! Opening up with a couple of great cocktails, we decided to order the meatballs as an appetizer. Casey did a great job on her cocktails, as always! After our meatballs, we decided on the charcuterie and cheese board. There was a nice selection, but not too much!. That was just the right amount after those great meatballs to call it a dinner! The bar area and lounge were well kept as well as the restrooms! It's always nice coming into a place and not seeing dirty tables or a dirty restroom! Located next to Bloomingdales in South Coast Plaza so parking was easy to find and the restaurant was easy to locate. When you walk in there's a huge wine bar to the left and the restaurant to the right. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She recommended a sauvingon blanc to pair with my salad. We got stuffed crab and shrimp mushrooms to start. The spoon was a bit too big for the holes so it was hard to serve the mushrooms but they tasted good. I asked for no pineapple on my tuna salad which they accommodated. The tuna was cooked well and not too chewy. Salad was also bright, flavorful, and light. read more

Had dinner here last night with a last min reservation. We were sat immediately. Food here has always been great so ordered a flat bread right away along with the cucumber mint drink and a glass of Chardonnay. Sean out server had really good vibes and was attentive. The pork chop here is always amazing and we also went for the crusted pork loin. All the food was great but the pork loin was crazy salty. I hate sending things back but Sean and the manager were super nice about it and made extra sure we were taken care of. Above and beyond service that wasn't awkward at all. We ordered shrimp and grits, chicken artichoke soup, stuffed mushrooms, brussel sprouts, and the pork chop. Soup: Hot and ok. 3 stars Shrimp and grits: 3 stars (Not the best, not the worst. Could use some seasoning, but edible) Brussel sprouts: 0 stars. Bacon had zero flavor. The brussel sprouts were practically raw and very hard. Pork Chop: 0 stars. We cut into the chop and saw pink. Pink doesn't mean undercooked, but after a couple of bites of small pieces we confirmed it was under. Cooper (great guy by the way) took it back to the chef and they confirmed it was under. I am only writing this review because my partner and I woke up with stomach issues. Just be careful. We just had some bad luck. We ended up going to In n Out afterwards. The manager stopped by to check on us which is appreciated which is nice. They could have gone a step further in ensuring we are ok after consuming undercooked pork but ‍. I don't even think they provided their name when they visited the table. Anyway be careful and don't give Cooper a hard time read more
