The Huddle is a neighborhood bar in Costa Mesa and near John Wayne Airport. It's your typical dive bar with pool tables ($1), darts, and TVs scattered around the inside. They have food but you can also bring food inside and there are restaurants within walking distance. Their wells are $7, their Moscow mules are $10 which are something we usually default to drinking, and they have these rooster shots that include three individual shots of tequila, lime juice, and tomato juice. It's fun when you do it with a group of people!

Love this place so much. Unbeatable prices for whiskey sours and the vibe is immaculate. The bartenders are attentive. Great for a Saturday night out.

We came relatively early on a Saturday, totally forgetting it was St. Patrick's Day weekend and this place would be poppin (which it definitely was as the day carried on). We were seated right away for breakfast. On weekends, they don't start serving lunch till 11:45am, but we got to enjoy their breakfast. I didn't even realize they serve food. We were seated in the upstairs area which was pretty awesome because you got more of a view of the ocean! It was awesome. The guy that seated us was one of the brothers that works there and he was so nice! He told us to let him know when we were ready to leave because it gets crazy and people try to steal tables hahah. He even tried to get us to stay later and offered to buy us all a shot if we did, which of course, my family never says no to, so they all got to enjoy that haha. He was fantastic! Our server was also amazing though I didn't get her name. The staff here really is outstanding! To eat, I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and a side of their fruit bowl. It was all really good. The food came out pretty quick which was great. My family all enjoyed their HUGE beers and mimosas. But really, the drinks look like they could be a bowl of soup haha. We loved it here and I'd definitely come back. Once the afternoon hit, they turned the music up for the St. Patrick's Day crowd. It was definitely a fun atmosphere!

Their food isn't too bad especially if you want to watch sports, enjoy greasy food with a friend, or need a quick bite after a beach day. I think kids are allowed until a certain time (but I'm not sure when) cos once the sun sets, they have a bouncer checking IDs. Lots of seating available. Service is ok. When you get inside, you can pick any table of your choosing and your server will find you. Also, the restrooms are clean! First time I came here, I tried the lemon pepper pterodactyl wings and sweet potato fries. The wings were kinda bland and needed ranch for flavor. The sweet potato fries were pretty greasy but went great with a beer. I've also tried their California Dreamin' burger with garlic fries. This burger was so yummy and filling!! The bun is like a grilled cheese and the toppings go so well together. The garlic fries were meh.

It was a beautiful day, and we were given our choice of patio dining. Our server, Grace, friendly and efficient, was exceptional at checking on us which doesn't always happen when outdoors. She brought our drinks and meals quickly. One friend ordered sliders which she really enjoyed. She commented that it was the perfect size and tastes that she was looking for. Another friend and I split a steak salad. Sharing a salad off a plate can be an awkward feat, but they offer a split-plate up-charge for avoiding that! The salad was simple: steak, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce, but chopped fries were an unexpected addition. Overall, a great fit to get our night started off right!

Hostess was super nice and got us to a high top table near the bar due to the bar not having any room. Waiter was great. Made sure we were taken care of with waters and got our drinks right away. Tomato soup was very tasty. Great flavor. My wife and I shared the spicy spinach artichoke dip. It is definitely spicy but very tasty. The chips were outstanding. Plenty of spinach in the dip. My wife got the caesar salad and I got the spinach strawberry salad. Both salads were great size. Spinach salad had some nice pecans on top. Definitely recommend this spot for anyone. The only downfall I would give this place is because I wish they had a seltzer or cider on tap.

Cabo Cantina in Newport Beach leans more into a party spot than a traditional restaurant, but the…read morefood still holds its own if you know what to order. The atmosphere hits you first. Loud music, packed tables, TVs everywhere, and a crowd that's there to drink and hang out. This place stays busy, especially at night, and works best if you go in expecting energy instead of a quiet meal. It's built for groups, not solo dining. The menu sticks to classic Mexican bar food. Tacos, burritos, nachos, and fajitas make up most of what you'll see. The portions come out large and filling, which fits the setting. Popular picks like carne asada fries, shrimp tacos, and loaded nachos stand out as solid choices. Flavor-wise, the food is good for what it is. Nothing overly complex, but seasoned well and satisfying after a long day at the beach or a night out. The fish tacos bring a lighter option, while the burritos and fries lean heavier and more indulgent. Where this place really separates itself is value. The 2-for-1 happy hour deals and large drinks draw most people in, and the food complements that experience instead of competing with it. Service depends on how busy it gets. During peak hours, things slow down and feel less organized. When it's calmer, the staff keeps things moving and stays friendly. This is not the place for a refined dining experience. You go here for loud energy, big portions, and a fun group setting. If you walk in with that mindset, Cabo Cantina delivers.

It's rare to see management so involved and attentive, and it really made a difference. The food was phenomenal -- everything was fresh and full of flavor. The seared ahi was incredible and the steak skewers were perfectly cooked. You can really tell they take pride in their menu. The ambience was great, especially being right by the water, and the outside bartender was absolutely killing it the whole night. He handled my pretty wild and difficult group like a pro and kept the drinks coming with a great attitude. Overall it was an excellent experience from start to finish.
