Came here on a Friday night last week. For a bar in Costa Mesa, it was actually pretty clean and felt very safe. Main thing here is the 8-9 pool tables that you can play on. 4 quarters per game and each table we played on was well kept and clean. Darts and pinball are also there, dart machines seem cheap and old. Pinball was newer. Drinks were ok, alittle watered down that day, smaller shots then what we were use to but it passed. The Huddle is a neighborhood bar in Costa Mesa and near John Wayne Airport. It's your typical dive bar with pool tables ($1), darts, and TVs scattered around the inside. They have food but you can also bring food inside and there are restaurants within walking distance. Their wells are $7, their Moscow mules are $10 which are something we usually default to drinking, and they have these rooster shots that include three individual shots of tequila, lime juice, and tomato juice. BUT they have a "winner stays on" rule which means you have PAY to play against creepy old dudes that have no lives no women and big ankles who end up hogging a table all night. Go out during the week with the other senior citizens and lets the youths have fun on the weekends. a group of us just tried to visit the huddle. It's Thursday night & its getting pretty cold out, so we walked back to the car to get a jacket. the bouncer guy literally followed us to the other end of the parking lot and told us we couldn't go in. So we open the trunk and because he saw *unopened* cans, he came up and said we couldn't go in anymore, then walked away. We go to talk to him because we literally only grabbed a jacket and he wouldn't say why. he told us we had to leave the parking lot, which is not only this business' parking lot. he continued to be extremely rude to our group. we asked for a manager or supervisor and he would not get one for us to speak to. now another employee comes up and asked what happened. and because he admitted that he did not see any OPEN cans and that we were NOT holding any drinks, that we were to be let in. and it was that simple, he had no reason to deny us entry. There is a huge issue with an employee following us across the entire parking lot. Completely inappropriate. None of us were intoxicated, none of us were being loud. Just a guy on a power trip over us grabbing one jacket out of the trunk. Thanks to the guy who let us in, but we left immediately anyways. All of this trouble from the bouncer dude. Would not recommend spending money at this place, or at least until that guy isn't employed there anymore. read more

I love coming here from time to time but now it just seems like a bunch of loud people speaking over each other hogging the pool tables. You gotta come early in order to get yourself a spot. The drinks are alright. I ordered a Paloma and I couldn't enjoy it because of how heavily poured it was. The bartenders are quick to assist so can't complain. Every single time I come here it doesn't matter what I'm dressed, like what I look like. The people here are so awesomely open and kind and genuine, I really enjoy my time. I actually used to hate pool clubs./bars. Huddle has been the only exception for my distaste in these type of places! Theyre bartenders are awesome people that serve drinks are always in a good mood-well, at least in my experience-Honestly I love the Huddle for s couple drinks and s game or two, great for groups. The ambience of this location is very clean and friendly when you consider the usual vibe of a dive bar. Great hole in the wall bar with a great draft selection and TVs playing all the games. Been wanting to write a review on this place for a while now. Went in December and friends from out of town wanted to visit a cool spot. We found this place but didn't get in. The rude guy at the door said that only IDs or govt issued docs were accepted. Weird because a permanent resident card is a govt issued ID. Don't waste your time here! Terrible place. I had a very disappointing experience at The Huddle in Costa Mesa. I was asked to show ID, and when I presented my valid U.S. Permanent Resident (Green) Card, they refused to accept it. This is a government-issued form of identification, and there was no clear explanation for why it was rejected. It felt discriminatory and frankly unprofessional. If staff are going to turn people away for presenting a legal ID, they should be better trained and informed about what qualifies as valid identification in the United States. I won't be returning, and I hope they update their policy and educate their team to avoid treating others the same way. read more

Wanted to visit a cool dive bar and saw this place on Yelp. The music seemed great upon entering and it had a great vibe. Sadly, this place lost out on our patronage. The big hair blonde bartender served 4 men ahead of us women and was rude. She certainly needed to keep her boys happy because it will be a rough time through her 60's and there will be a loyal group of drinkers that will miss her at some point. The Huddle is a cash cow with a decent selection of alcohol. I would have tipped the guy bartenders extra after the rude woman, but was too disgusted by her to buy my friends drinks there. On your left, they have an array of activities with 8 pool tables, darts, and games. On your right, is the bar of course. Fair warning that you're probably going to get poked by a stick when you're around the pool tables, but everyone is nice and friendly to each other. Watch out for the old(er) lady bartender. Gives whatever service and changes the tip amounts on receipts. Happened to me with her twice and others. Called twice to have them change the amount to the correct one, never got the money back and had to go through my bank. Crazy management is okay with literal fraud, no matter the amount. read more

Pool hall first and foremost, with a small bar area. I was pleasantly surprised by this place because from the outside it looks like a dive bar. There's no windows, but they keep the front door wide open and the sunset fills the room with light, not to mention good lighting is already installed throughout. The pool tables are on the smaller side and are coin operated. One dollar per game. They keep the beer lines clean and serve up a nice fresh pitcher of Blue Moon.
