Stopped by the Classic Q after work since it was nearby. Upon walking in, it seemed like a very typical sports bar. The name seems fitting, very "classic" as it's nothing spectacular nor horrendous. The service is really dependent on the bartender. I was greeted by two people when I visited, a very kind woman and an overly-talkative man. The woman was great, she checked on my partner and I an appropriate amount of times and offered help when needed. On the other hand, the man would keep interrupting conversations between myself and my partner. I appreciate it when people can read the room. Back to a more positive note, the food and drinks were solid. The woman bartender did a great job on making drinks and offered to adjust ours if needed. I came in for a Fantasy Baseball draft. I arrived around 12:30 and the place was almost all mine. A nice play list from the 90's had me reminiscing about great memories and a few regrets. Melody (Mel) came over and announced she would be the server for our group. After going over what was on tap, I asked for the Space Dust IPA. It was new for me and I love trying different libations. Mei was very attentive throughout and she gave me some food recommendations later on. I opted for the Blackened Chicken Sandwich and it came with TONS of fries. I enjoyed it very much but I could not polish off the taters. All in all, a very nice Sunday afternoon was had by all the participants. After being a routine visitor here to this bar, we were greeted with a "manager" with curly hair and glasses. This is the first time in the months that we've been coming here that she was very rude in asking our party to "be quiet" when playing a game of pool. After informing her that she could have asked the ladies in our party to be quiet in a more polite manner, she denied it and proceeded to be rude to us. As an individual with experience as a manager, she did not handle it in a professional manager and proceeded to walk away after we told her she could have handled it in a polite manner. It's tucked away in a random strip mall on MacArthur and it's easy to talk shop with associates or to simply catch up with friends before after work hours. That said, I was really impressed by the level of service at a billiards spot/sports bar. Probably the worst sports bar I've ever been to. Waiters suck, food is mid, and environment feels weird. First of all, I'd like to remind all the waiters there that tips are earned but most importantly optional. It is not the customers job to pay you your salary. Me and my partner waited around 25 minutes to even talk with a waiter and that's only because a gentleman next to us (who also not had his order taken yet) had complained to the bar. The woman who did end up taking our order was sarcastic and you could tell she was faking the whole "nice person" attitude. We saw her three times and that was it. Clearly, our experience there was not tip worthy so no tip was left and when she took our paid receipt, she was showing everyone at the bar how we didn't tip and made all these faces while making direct eye contact with my partner. Her attitude was disgusting and belongs no where near customer service. We tried to like this bar since we've came here 3 times prior this and somehow it's always been a unpleasant or poor experience. Never coming back again. read more

Revisited. They have done nothing with the cloth. The floor is buckling / table not level. There are douchbags all over. Idiots making fun of how I was playing because I was getting down and looking at the ball like any serious player would.. This place blows. Oh and I had to wait for an hour for that BS even though I was at the top of the list. If you're looking for a place for expensive drinks with your brosefs, this is the spot for you. If you want to play anything close to serious pool, go elsewhere. I will not be back unless I hear that they decide to put some of that drink money into their deteriorating tables / floors - it has been waaaayyy too long between resurfacing / leveling / etc. and really they need decent replacement tables, period. Nice place but not a fan of them forcing me to leave my drivers license in their possession. They may have their reasons but it's not secure, I mean, are they part of an ID theft ring or something? Holding on to it doesn't improve verification, but it sure increases my risk. it shows that they really could t give a rats ass about that. I'd be happy to leave a $100 bill if they're worried about me running out on them. is it to prevent bat fights or something? WE VISITED LAST NIGHT WITIH OUR WHOLE FAMILY AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT. POOL TABLES Clearly they pay attention to detail. The table felt rails are in good repair, the cue sticks are smooth and tipped - well taken care of. All the equipment is well-maintained and like new. This is greatly appreciated. We didn't see any bridge cues and didn't see any powder. But the man running the front desk checked in on us frequently and it was just our fault we didn't ask because clearly they were ready to help us enjoy ourselves. FOOD The menu is a fairly traditional bar menu but definitely takes a first class kitchen to execute and we ordered the Collossome party platters (we had 10 people) and then everyone ordered drinks and various sandwiches. We spent $350 on food for 10. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. Courtney was just excellent as our waitress...she came back often and got everything right the first time....we generated a continuous stream of requests from 10 people and everything was quick and accurate. We would ask for her again the next time. My suggestions for food as I always try to give helpful comment is get away from the seed oils...two of our family members felt bloated and had gas after the meal and when you cook in "forever oils" it's called that for a reason. Omega 6 heavy seed oils, Canola, Vegetable Oils, etc. are cheap and sound healthy but they aren't - substitute Coconut or Avocado oils - they are more expensive by far and need a lower cooking temp but its well worth the trouble and would be the biggest single improvement in food quality you could implement. The second big improvement would be to change out the breading for gluten-free breading with no chemicals. That of course is a big step for a night club but you seem to have the chef to support at least a discussion about how to improve the overall food quality...the execution in the kitchen seems to be excellent. SERVICE Several different people (we don't know who the owner is or the manager but suspect maybe we saw one or both) visited us frequently and Courtney was just very efficient and a real asset to this club...I would make sure she's well-paid...her tips are no-doubt very generous. She was on top of our entire group of 10 and everyone appreciated her attention...she didn't seem to have to many tables...it appeared to be just right for a Saturday night. SUMMARY We enjoyed this visit which was a birthday celebration - un-announced - for my son. Many of the family members said let's go again soon. read more
