5 star location 3.5 star food 4 star service 1 star sanitary Managers for lighthouse need to do something about the flies in the restaurant. I was there around 10am today and notice couple flies around the table then when I really paid attention, I saw a lot of flies, I mean a lot. Each section of their window had 2-5 flies sitting at the window edge. Once our food arrived, because we had a seafood omelette, the flies kept coming to us and it became hazardous. We quickly finished our meal and had no interest to stay and enjoy the view anymore even though we were seated at a nice table next to the windows.
Lighthouse. What a staple. I'm pretty sure people come here mainly for the views and vibes and the WATA. Lots of perks to being right in between the ocean and the waterfront docks. Service is pretty good. Everything is pretty tasty but nothing really blows you away. Ingredients are quality though for the most part. Produce isn't like run of the mill and eggs are organic. The pancakes are pretty solid. No complaints at all. We ordered regular buttermilk and they were fantastic. Would not wait more than 15 or 20 minutes but it's a cute little spot. I still haven't dined on 2nd floor but would be nice next time.
Beautiful setting for the restaurant at New Port Bay area. Lots of boats, lots of tourists playing on the Sandy Beach. The food was magnificent. The waiter Carlos was excellent. We enjoyed everything about our adventure here.
Had the lemon ricotta, blueberry, mascarpone pancakes. Delicious Outdoor seating, shaded, Marina views.
Lighthouse Cafe has one of the coolest breakfast atmospheres I've experienced, sitting right by the water with boats passing by and the beach just steps away. The loaded breakfast burrito was ridiculous and the blueberry ricotta pancakes were another standout, with lobster rolls, chicken wings, and chicken sliders adding even more variety to the menu. They also have great drinks and an affordable happy hour, making it an easy spot to hang out well beyond breakfast. Between the food, drinks, waterfront views, and beach access, I'm genuinely surprised this place isn't more talked about. The service was pretty quick and friendly too !
Lighthouse has an amazing location with beautiful ocean views. The beach is right there to enjoy, and there's a park nearby, making it a great spot to relax before or after your meal. I was mildly disappointed with a few things, though. The lobster roll was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. The chips were just okay. My latte, unfortunately, was one of the worst I've had... it tasted like milk with just a splash of coffee. The staff was very kind and happily replaced it with an Americano, which was much better. One inconvenience was the restroom situation. The closest bathrooms were by the lighthouse, which is a bit of a walk. I only wanted to rinse the lobster off my fingers, so I ended up using a glass of water outside instead. The service was friendly and accommodating, and the food had some strong points, but the disappointing coffee and lack of convenient restrooms kept this from being a higher-rated experience. I would give it a 3.5 star but since its not allowed, the experience was pleasant enough for a 4. Prices were decent id say
The restaurant is located by the water and actually looks like a lighthouse. It's cute. The interior is smaller than I thought but since it's a lighthouse it's shaped round. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I think it may be popular as a brunch spot. We had reservations for 11:30am and it was bustling. By noon the crowd seemed to have dispersed. Everything on the menu looked good so we ended up ordering literally a table full of food - 2 types of mimosas (tropical paradise and elderflower guava), calamari, clam chowder, beignets, steak (holy cow), lobster roll and mahi mahi tacos. Of the mimosas we liked the guava best. Holy cow was one of our favorites but really everything was delicious. Staff was pleasant, just in the beginning we had to wait quite some time for someone to take our order. We had made reservations with a note that we were celebrating our anniversary but they don't acknowledge celebrations I guess so if you are wanting something special at the restaurant perhaps not this place.
We had a great time at the Lighthouse. The food, service and the view was just amazing! The beach is across the street so you can walk off the food after. A great spot for brunch or just to meet up with friends.
First visit. Picked something close to the beach and hotel since we were driving in from Vegas. Menu looked good when I looked at it prior and it was on the water. We checked in at the front desk and asked about the parking. She said we would have to pay to park. I'm like ok? Shouldn't it be waved if we are eating here. No. I had to walk back out and pay for the parking. We were starving so just did it. Service was slow! Took a while to get our food and drinks. View was nice on the water but we will not return due to the flies. Disgusting! They were everywhere! Kept landing in the food and buzzing around everywhere. I made a comment to a person on the staff and they laughed like oh I know they are bad. Food was ok. Artichokes were my fav. The steak was very small that comes with the steak and eggs.
Made reservations through Yelp for 7 people, indoor seating. We arrived and checked in at the front--the host sat us down immediately. It was a weekday brunch/lunch hours, so the restaurant wasn't too packed. Food came out relatively fast! Only complaint-- Everyone got their food at the same time except one person. Their Lobster roll took a long time. By the time we had server check, the rest of party was finishing up their food. I gave one of my mahi tacos, so my friend didn't have to sit awkwardly while we all ate. Guests ordered: Calamari appetizer- crispy, but soft to chew. Flavorful and not heavy batter. Wasn't overcooked and everyone enjoyed it with the sauce it came with. Elderflower Guava mimosa-- refreshing and tastes tropical and light. Guava taste is apparent if you like guava. Something diff if you want to change it up in flavor! Sorry didn't take pic of that. Lobster roll-- Actually really fresh and decent amount of lobster meat given. The bun was a brioche type bun, slightly toasted. Overall, good, but not sure it was worth that long of a wait for it. It came out late, so I wasn't about to take pic of it knowing my friend is starving. Haha Ahi Sandwich--- came with some fries and side salad. Tuna was seared perfectly and not overcooked. Well seasoned too. Bun was slightly toasted. Dressing on salad was a light vinaigrette. Salad looked clean and bright in color. Mahi Mahi--- the corn tortillas must be fresh, because it's soft and thick and elevates the whole dish. If you like spicy, this definitely has a nice kick to it with the seasoning and sauce. Loved it! Fish and Chips-- was good. Crispy and fish not overcooked. Fries are fries anywhere. lol Clam Chowder-- not too salty in comparison to other places. Decent amount of clams. Has a creamy texture, not too thick and not too watery. Nothing irks me more when it's full of potatoes. This had the right amount of potatoes and clams. Lemon Blueberry Pancakes-- Nailed it! Felt like eating dessert! If you love blueberries, this one is for you. Didn't taste a lot of lemon flavors, but it's probably mixed in there somewhere with the syrup and probably lemon zest. Chicken and Waffles--- Chicken was seasoned well and has a nice crunch to it. Not enough chicken in my opinion. Chicken piece looked small in comparison to two thick slabs of waffles. It was good, but wouldn't get it again. If you've had chicken and waffles in Long Beach, IYKYK. Wonderful view of Marina as usual. Our server was super nice and efficient. She had a calm and friendly demeanor about her. She saw we were trying to take pics and offered to take a a few of our table. How thoughtful. It's the small things that matter the most. Details, details! Overall, we had a pleasant time. Thank you!
Make reservations for outdoor seating! You'll have a beautiful view of the water. I got the lobster roll and it was delicious and buttery. The lemon blueberry pancakes were shared amongst my table and we devoured them. If I come back, I'd definitely order the lobster roll again!!
Came here for a friend's birthday and had such a great experience! All of the staff were so nice and friendly, and they answered any questions we had about the menu. I tried the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. I wasn't sure if it came with a side or if I had to ask for one, but either way, the meal was really good. The only small thing was that the syrup was a little too sweet for me, but honestly that might just be a me thing. The scenery was beautiful and the ocean view made the experience even better. The staff also brought out small beignets for the birthday girl, which was such a sweet gesture. I would 100% come back!
This is my second time eating here and unfortunately this time was more of a let down. We had a reservation got sat waited a bit longer then normal for someone to come over a take our order they were pretty busy so that's understandable. Our server was very kind a up beat so no dings on her the part. that let us down was how slow the bar and kitchen times were. We got the beignets as an appetizer which surprisingly came out quickly, but then we waited another 15 minutes after we had gotten the beignets for our drinks..... not ideal. Then we ordered our food and that took painfully long as well. We sat with empty water and empty drinks was very hard to flag someone down to get a second round of bar drinks. After the long waited food to come three of the dishes were cold and not just like maybe had been sitting out for five like minutes like they clearly had been sitting out for awhile. The dishes that was cold were clam chowder, french toast and fish and chips. I wish my party could have good feed back for at least the flavor of their food but they were very off put by their dishes being cold. Good points would be the presentation of the food is very well put together. And when our server was around, she always had a smile on her face and good attitude. Food that we could rate was My dish: steak chilaquiles (gluten free) 8/10 very flavorful eggs cooked perfectly The seared Aji sandwich: - 8/10 bun was toasted flavor was good and fresh cooked beautifully Fried chicken and waffles: - 5/10 nothing to write home about seemed very classic waffles were a bit underdone Beignets: 10/10 very light and airy not too sweet and the sauce was super good. Topped with cinnamon sugar Cocktails Wiser and elder - gin, vodka, st. Germain, lemon and basil / 9/10 soooo good very well balanced Strawberry mojito - very refreshing 8/10 Some notes, service was good the servers can only do so much when they aren't properly staffed or ticket times are running behind. Only point I would make is it better to be present during those times and checking in on your tables rather then trying to avoid the tables that are waiting on somthing you (the sever ) cant provide your self. The restaurant is a gorgeous setting very yacht club vibes. Not as many gluten free options which I knew going in which is okay for me and the menu is well labeled. Overall a bit disappointing having had a good prior experience hopefully they can work on trying to time their seating with kitchen and bar ticket times. I do think the reason people keep coming back here is the ambiance and setting of the restaurant you really can't beat it it very cute and have a great view of the water

45 minute-wait on a Saturday which wasn't bad. We requested to sit outside but unfortunately the table had one seat right in the sun. We asked if we could move to a shaded table and were told no, even though there were open tables. I felt ill from the sun so I was waiting outside of patio in the shade until the server came. I guess my boyfriend asked again and they kept sending employees to the table and after about three people moved us. After that the server was nice. Food and drink were mediocre (lobster roll and lava flow). Nice view of the ocean and sailboats. Additional notes: no room for stroller on patio so you have to leave it outside of restaurant. Public restroom not attached to restaurant. Paid parking lot out front. Park for kids very close by. read more

This restaurant was really pretty, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy both the view and my meal. I made a reservation on a weekday evening, however, it would have been fine to just walk in since it wasn't that busy. Parking was a bit difficult to find and you have to pay to park in the lot. Service was good, and my server was able to squeeze in an order from the happy hour menu before it ended. I started with the lobster sliders, a cup of clam chowder, and a blood orange cosmo. All three items hit the spot. The lobster sliders, although small, had a good amount of lobster piled on and were good just dipped in butter. The fries were also nicely crispy and paired well with dipping in the clam chowder, which I really liked. The blood orange cosmo was on the sweeter side but was good. This "linner" was my first meal of the day so I also got the pan-seared salmon off the dinner menu. I thought it was fine. Next time, I'd probably stick to trying more items off of the happy hour menu. read more
Our family went to the lighthouse with the whole family, in-laws, aunts, and cousins Had an absolutely wonderful brunch here, everything was perfect from start to finish. We ordered a little bit of everything, from waffles and pancakes to eggs, and every dish was fantastic. What really made the experience special was our server, Mary. She is one of the nicest, sweetest people I've ever met. We ended up talking about our shared love of bourbon and whiskey, and she recommended her bourbon margarita... and wow, it was incredible. If you go, make sure to say hi to Mary and ask about her bourbon margarita. She truly made our brunch unforgettable and deserves a big raise! read more
Came here with a goal to have a light lunch after a hike at Crystal Cove. We ordered a cup of tomato bisque bowl of clam chowder calamari mahi mahi fish tacos The mahi mahi in the tacos was good but the tortilla was chewy and hard and just not enjoyable, the salad that came with it was very good and fresh. The calamari was good and came with a pesto ranch that was surprisingly delish. My husband was not a big fan of the clam chowder, it didn't really taste like clam chowder and I agree with him. However the real star was the tomato bisque. Flavor point was perfection, presentation was 5/5 and they added grilled cheese sandwich bites it was memorable and a pleasant surprise. Service was friendly, fast and courteous. The restaurant itself is not easy to spot at first but in a great location with a serene and beautiful view. It does get a little cold because the breeze just seems to get trapped right outside but it wasn't too bad. Overall we left feeling stuffed and I would say the food is good but not sure if this would be one of my first picks with all of the competition in the area. I would highly recommend the tomato bisque to anyone coming here though! read more

Great location and great service. Our party of 9 dined in for brunch to end a bachelorette trip, and I'm glad we did! I made reservations a few weeks in advance, and they were able to seat us right in the middle of the lighthouse. Beautiful! The food was so good! We would definitely recommend the dishes pictured in this review. Also, if your party will be drinking, the mimosa pitchers were very worth it. read more
We enjoyed sitting outside on their patio. It was a bit crowded even for a Friday but i guess everyone has the same idea with it being a nice day out. Service was good. Mary was sweet. Food was meh. Lobster roll- appreciated that it was warm, but both the lobster and roll was DRY. We ended up using all the butter it came with to try to moisten it. Definitely have had better. We used to love going to Hook and Anchor but they moved to Costa Mesa. Clam chowdwr- loved the flavor of it. Just needed more clams. read more

Cute little venue within a Lighthouse (hence the name) . Seating inside is small but cute! There is more seating outside and on the second floor. Service was good! We came late to our reservation and they still accommodated us. Food is good....we came for brunch...we had the Ahi Tuna Tacos- delish! It came with two and had large chunks of tuna inside a light and crispy wonton shell. The spicy mayo and sauce were yum! We also had the Lighthouse Benedict. Comes with Prosciutto. A little bit harder to cut, but it worked out. Comes with breakfast potato's. My husband ordered the classic two egg breakfast with skirt steak. He gobbled it up! The only downside, there are no restrooms within the facility, you have to walk out and use the public restrooms ...boo! read more

I read the reviews on Lighthouse and decided to check it out while in the area. We were seated at a table inside since the weather was a bit chilly. They do offer patio seating and they must have an upstairs seating area as I saw workers running up and down a set of outdoor stairs. The seating area has a nice view of the water. The noise level isn't too loud inside. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered clam chowder cups to start, an omelet and a Caesar salad with grilled steak. The clam chowder was delicious and had chunks of bacon garnished on top. The omelet was tasty. The Caesar salad was a miss. I should have asked for it to be chopped as the leaves came out whole which I'm personally not a fan of. The steak had zero flavor and was quite fatty. I would return but would order something else on my next visit. read more
Really cute environment for a brunch. Didn't get a chance to go upstairs but I thought the morning light indoors was very beautiful. Food is okay, clam chowder was on the thinner side. My friend got the generic breakfast and loved it. I mean you cant go wrong with classics. I meant to write this review for the amazing server but I forgot his name!! Came here for the first time recently for breakfast and was surprised to learn this is attached to a community center. The location is odd but the menu looked promising. 10/10 for the steak chilaquiles. My husband and I loved them! My only complaint is charging significantly more for avocado. It should come with it. We also liked the lobster roll and thought the bread was super light and tasty. Our least favorite was the cinnamon roll French toast. It wasn't super flavorful and didn't taste much like a cinnamon roll. The service here was slow despite not being super busy and on top of the location being a little odd and looking like a government building, this won't be a regular spot for us. read more

First time here! Today was the perfect day! Went around 12pm, Perfect weather to sit outside. Even if it was chilly the heaters worked really well. They have little fire pits next to the tables too. Such a great spot near the water. The claim chowder was delicious and my breakfast burrito was really good. It was such a nice peaceful breakfast. I love good weather, good food, and good coffee. This is definitely one of my new favorite spots. We had a great server as well! Good prices menu too. I seen a few kids meal pass by us and they looked good as well. My daughter had the mocktail though and it wasn't good. But we enjoyed everything else! I wanted to try the pancakes because they looked popular and delicious but I don't like extra sauce and toppings on my pancakes but they looked delicious. I seen someone with French toast which was very thick and that looked good as well. 5 stars for the kitchen. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience doesn't match the quality of the food. Management, I genuinely hope you read this because I believe Lighthouse Café has the potential to be one of the area's standout restaurants. The food is exceptional. Unfortunately, the service and hospitality are holding it back. On July 3, 2026, my party arrived for a reservation to celebrate a birthday. The reservation noted the occasion, and I also mentioned it to the hostess when we checked in. She simply escorted us to our table without acknowledging it in any way. I mentioned it a second time, thinking perhaps she had missed it, but there was still no response. While I wasn't expecting a grand celebration, a simple "Happy Birthday" would have demonstrated attentiveness and hospitality. Our server continued that same pattern. She asked if we wanted anything besides water to drink while there was already a bottle of wine sitting in plain view on our table. It wasn't a significant mistake, but it suggested she wasn't fully engaged with our table. Throughout the meal, the service was adequate but uninspired. She wasn't rude, and she didn't make any major errors, but she also didn't create an experience that made us feel welcomed or appreciated. I still left an 18% tip because I believe in tipping for honest work, but exceptional restaurants are remembered for service that goes beyond simply taking orders. Then came the most disappointing interaction of the evening. After dinner, we walked toward the building looking for the restroom. Before we could ask anyone for directions, a manager stopped us with, "What are you doing?" The question wasn't asked in a welcoming or helpful manner--it immediately made us feel as though we were doing something wrong. After I explained we were looking for the restroom, we were directed to the outside facilities. Those restrooms were dirty, poorly maintained, and far below the standard I would expect from a restaurant serving food of this quality. The kitchen deserves tremendous credit. Every dish we ordered was excellent, and the chefs clearly take pride in their craft. What concerns me is that every guest interaction--from the hostess, to the server, to the manager--communicated the same message: hospitality was an afterthought. Restaurants don't succeed on food alone. Great restaurants create memorable experiences, and that begins the moment a guest walks through the door. Hospitality isn't complicated. It's acknowledging special occasions, paying attention to your guests, making them feel welcome, and treating every interaction as an opportunity to earn their return. I sincerely hope management invests as much effort into developing the front-of-house team as the kitchen invests in every plate that leaves the pass. If that happens, Lighthouse Café won't just serve outstanding food--it will become a restaurant people enthusiastically recommend and return to again and again. read more

Unfortunately, this restaurant was a disappointing experience overall. When we were seated, there was liquid left on both the table and chair from a prior reservation that clearly hadn't been cleaned up. It was difficult to get the staff's attention, so we decided to switch chairs ourselves, only to be told we couldn't. They eventually relented once they realized the issue with the cleanliness, but it shouldn't have been a problem in the first place. The outdoor seating area also had no little to no shade coverage so we were stuck sitting in direct sunlight the entire time, which made the experience uncomfortable. The food did not justify the prices. The calamari was over $20 for a very small portion, and about half the plate was filled with half stale chips seemingly to make up for the lack of calamari. The Caesar salad looked unappetizing and honestly didn't taste anything like a Caesar salad. Another frustrating part was that no children's menu was offered until we specifically asked, despite being seated for quite awhile with children present. Maybe it was simply forgotten, but it did leave us wondering whether it was intentional in hopes we'd order more expensive items from the regular menu. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths and we won't be returning. read more

Came here for lunch with my partner. I ordered the breakfast burrito and he got the crispy chicken sandwich with fries and a house salad. The food overall was good, the chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful, and the burrito tasted okay but was a bit messy. The sauce on top made it hard to eat without getting my hands dirty. The service was just okay. Our server wasn't rude to us, but he was really loud and came off as rude to other customers nearby. At one point, a different waiter actually went up to a table and complained about the amount of tip they left, which was really uncomfortable to witness. Also, the bathroom isn't inside the restaurant, which isn't the most convenient. Despite that, the food tasted good, and the outdoor seating had a nice vibe. I'd still give it 4/5 stars mostly for the food and atmosphere, but the service could definitely be better. read more
Loved the ambiance and setting of the restaurant. Parking was easy with free street options nearby or a paid lot. The service was good, nothing over the top but no complaints either. My husband ordered lemon ricotta pancakes and they were incredible! One of the few times I've actually enjoyed pancakes and went in for more! I ordered the chilaquiles and swapped the steak for potatoes and avocado, which worked out perfectly. The cappuccino was also delicious. I want to come back and try the sangria and bloody mary. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience at Lighthouse Restaurant in Newport. My grandson ordered chicken strips and had already eaten about half of one before we realized the chicken was undercooked. This is a serious food safety concern, especially when it involves a child. I called over the manager, Greg, and showed him the issue. He apologized, but then simply walked away without offering any meaningful solution or showing much concern for the situation. Undercooked chicken can make people very sick, and I expected the restaurant to take the matter much more seriously. Unfortunately, the response from management left me feeling that customer safety was not a priority. I hope the restaurant improves its food preparation and customer service practices. read more
First time trying this place. I came with a girlfriend for lunch on a weekday. It wasn't crowded, we were sat and served right away. There's inside and outside seating, both with water view. It wasn't too cold so we opted for outside seating right by their little fire pit. Our server was very attentive and helpful. We shared the Cesar salad with chicken and the clam chowder bread bowl. Both were yummy. It was my first time having a Cesar Salad with the full anchovy visible. We both enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and scenery. We loved that it wasn't so crowded and busy. read more

There was tons of street parking and a parking lot directly in front of it. All parking was operated by ParkMobile. It's right in front of the water (half marina and a small sand/beach area) where you can walk around as you wait.
Do you guys do bottomless mimosas? If so, is there a selection on what days and times?
They have bottomless mimosas on the weekend for $17 per person.
Do you take reservations for 12? I only see up to 6 on open table.
Call them and they can make it work. They do have tables that can be moved around to fit more than 6.
