This is a cute themed breakfast spot! From the service, to the ambiance, to the food, the restaurant was great. I came to visit with my family and the service was top-notch. I think this is a great restaurant to visit when you're in the area. The potatoes were fantastic and perfectly crisp. The shrimp and crab cake Benedict was good I just wished they were bigger. The potato to entree ratio is kind of stark but that's usually the case with any breakfast joint. I loved the s'mores French toast, it was full of flavor, had a great balance of s'mores to French toast flavor. Definitely a good option to share with the table. I think next time we'll get one of the flights they have on the menu.
Walking in, it was a cute breakfast spot. They have lots of decor all around. They have an outside patio or you can sit inside. The food was good. I got the Portuguese sausage omelette. It came with potatoes and a side of toast. All were tasty and delicious. They even accommodated my request of no salt on my food since I'm watching my salt intake. Service was great. The waitress was super nice. I only knocked one star off because I didn't get a refill on my water. But other than that, service was amazing!
Brought my boys to a quick breakfast. I've been here years ago but came back because they wanted pancakes. We ordered the chilaques to share and some pancakes on the side. We had a plain pancake and the Oreo pancake. Everything was amazing. The coffee was not good and the hot chocolate was OK also. The restaurant is clean and I like the vibe. One star less because service was not good at all. They are severely understaffed, and the servers were not very kind when we asked them for help after sitting there for so long. We will definitely come back again for breakfast, but probably plan for the extra time.
Went here on recommendations from Yelp. Maybe I set my hopes too high but it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was wonderfully plated but lacking in flavor. The bloody Mary was delicious. Service was good. Well I wouldn't say it was a bad experience I am certainly in no hurry to return
Can't believe we had not tried this before! We came early a Sunday morning and got lucky with no wait so we sat right away. Everyone loved their meals. The lemon pancakes were seasonal but so delicious. I also loved my coffee boozy drink, I forget the name. It's a very relaxed ambience, almost like a hipster cafe and we sat outside on the patio. Highly recommend a try if you're up early or don't mind to wait.
On our last trip to Breakfast Republic, I ordered something different. I went with the chicken sausage omelet. Unfortunately, it was drier than a day in the Mojave Desert in summer. It tasted like they precooked the egg, then laid it on a plate and added the ingredients. There was something wrong with how it was cooked. Each item was there, but the flavors did not blend together. I was craving some fresh tomatoes, maybe some melted cheese, or some pico with salsa. Anything that would add flavor. It was bland. It was dry. The toast was not toasted, and I had to add the small amount of butter on the toast. Again, dry and bland. This was not a good omelet. There was no love at all for food or flavor.
I was a little scared about the blackberry jam in my Benedict, but it was surprisingly good. It was subtle and really good with the shrimp and crab cake. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly and season well. I would recommend both. The Bloody Mary with jalapeño infused vodka was really good. Can't wait to come back and try other items.
While the service was good, the food was kind of average and so were the drinks. I ordered the chicken sausage fennel omelet. I was highly disappointed that they used less than half a chicken sausage in my omelette. Why? Why the poor stingy portion? The potatoes were HORRIBLE!!!!! Saturated in rosemary! Yuck! The omelette was ok. I have made better ones at home.
Love the breakfast sammie here. Service was also great too. Its a great casual breakfast spot to go with friends/family. That being said.. couple of improvements could be made. Wait time was inconsistent. After being quoted 20 minutes- it turned into 50 minutes without updates. Coffee is also not good here. It tastes watered down and the ube coffee was not great. It's not the worst but if you are a coffee person you will notice the difference. Their potatoes are also too well done for my taste.. too crunchy and fried imo.
Great spot, we had a group of 7 and were seated right away. The service was wonderful, the food amazing. Really big portions and great flavor. Our group tried the breakfast shot and really enjoyed it. Not one issue with any of our dishes. The decor is really fun, we enjoyed looking around at the various sayings. The coffee cups with the levels of engagements were our favorite! We are not local, but if ever that way again will for sure stop back in.
Oh Breakfast Republic. When I had some family in SD, this used to be our favorite brunch spot. The pancake flights alone are enough to make me swoon. I love pancakes, but getting try three flavors? Heck yeah! This time, I opted for the vegan tres leches pancakes. Omg. Honestly, one of those things that I would have no idea were vegan unless they said so. Tres leches is a risky flavor to make vegan (I mean, so much milk), but these pancakes were buttery, creamy, and soaked with sweet cream. So good. I paired it with their cafe de Olla which was pretty solid. Great spot for a delicious and filling breakfast or brunch.
Great spot for a Sunday morning breakfast. It gets busy - we waited about 30 minutes - but it was absolutely worth it.The coffee was strong and bold, the kind that wakes you up right away, and it paired perfectly with the tres leches pancakes I ordered. The pancakes were fluffy, delicious, and the sweetness balanced really well with the coffee. Their Power bowl was really good too. I added chicken, and that was a great choice - lots of delicious protein and super satisfying. Overall, a solid breakfast spot with great flavors and a lively weekend vibe.
Breakfast Republic was very busy when we arrived, which is usually a good sign, but the wait was only about 15 minutes and the staff kept things moving along. We ordered the American Breakfast and the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Omelette, and the portions were very generous. The Asiago chicken sausage was especially tasty and was one of the highlights of the meal as you can tell I dug into it before taking a pic. The omelette was flavorful with a nice balance of cheese, sausage, and jalapeño. My only minor criticism was the breakfast potatoes, which were a bit too crunchy and seemed slightly overcooked for my taste. Overall, the food was satisfying, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lively. Despite the crowd, the short wait and generous portions made for a nice breakfast experience.

My friends and I came here for brunch on a Saturday morning. It was pretty crowded but we got seated within 10 minutes. I got the Jalapeño Bacon Cheddar Sausage Omelette. It came with the sausage, garlic, onion, chopped bacon & cheddar cheese. It also came with house potatoes & choice of bread. I chose sourdough toast, which came with this delicious blackberry jam. I just tried this location of Breakfast Republic for the first time. I've been to other locations and they all have a great theme and are known for their free range eggs. I love all the decor, funny sayings and they even sell merch! At this location, they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The parking lot for this location is a little crazy because it's in a busy parking lot near a Trader Joe's and Regal movie theater. I also noticed one entire row of parking spaces is only 30 minute spots. This restaurant always has a wait. It's very popular. I came on Sunday around 11am and thankfully it was only about 30 minutes. It would be really nice to be able to make reservations or even have an online waiting list. My experience today was pretty good, but service was a little slow. There were a few times we wondered where our server was at...but I just figured it was busy. The food was good, but didn't blow me out of the water. I had the strawberry mascarpone French toast and it was pretty good, but a little mushy and the strawberrys were just ok. I did however really like the potatoes as well as my chai latte. read more

My party was seated right away on a Monday morning despite no reservation. I ordered the Crab and Crawfish Benedict, which comes with a side of taters. Let me just say, these were the best taters I've ever tried. The outside was lightly crispy while the inside was pillowy. The tater was seasononed well so the flavors were presented. The crab and crawfish benedict was absolutely delicious. The egg was poached to perfection since the yolk drizzle as I cut through. The bread had a nice bite to it with a crispy surface to juxtapose with the crab. The service was great since our waiter Morgan checked up on us every so often. I would bring my out of town friends here since this place is so good. read more

First time discovering this place on a Sunday. We got there at 12:11pm, they told us it would be a 30 minute wait and we waited exactly 30 mins. Great location. Enough parking but it's tight. Greater was very nice. Hubby ordered the burrito he said it had no flavor hence the 4 stars. He said he couldn't taste the steak, the egg or the potatoes. I however enjoyed every bit of my meal. I ordered the Jurassic benny. Oh my word! So delicious. We also ordered the pancake flight. The waiter helped us pick out the flavors for our selections. Great choices. They also sell merch. I was so tempted to buy the little egg salt and pepper shakers but not for $18! I really enjoyed the overall vibe of this place. Hubby said he wants to go back to try other things. Overall I would say this is an average to slightly above average breakfast place. The service was really great, no complaints there. The food was fine. My son had the S'mores French toast. It was good but extremely rich, which is to be expected I suppose. I had the standard Eggs Benedict with home fries, which was ok. To me the hollandaise makes or breaks a Benedict and this one was mid. The potatoes were ok as well, with a very strong rosemary flavor. My wife and daughter split a Flight of 3 (3 different pancakes) and really enjoyed it. So overall our experience would be 5 stars for service and 3 stars for food. read more

Breakfast Republic has come a long way. I believe they started in San Diego. Unfortunately they decreased in value but to give them the benefit of the doubt we will say it's because of "inflation". Parking lot is full especially on a weekend so prepare accordingly. The service was ok. Our waitress was nice and she had a smile. Unfortunately she gave me the wrong check. My in-laws were visiting from out-of-state and we wanted to take them to a place for good brunch. We've already tried Breakfast Republic when we lived in San Diego so we had a good feeling that this location was going to be just as good. We came here on a Monday morning at around 9:30 AM and there was no wait for a table of 4, although the place was pretty packed so it's possible there would be a wait if you came a little bit later. It did take a little bit of time for them to come by and give us our menus and some drinks. The patience will be worth it because the food that came out was amazing. I highly recommend the iced Ube latte! It was the perfect sweet little way to start the morning. I really liked my shrimp and ricotta omelette, which came in a really huge portion. My husband's crab Benedict was good too. I'll be honest. I've had better hollandaise sauce, but their version wasn't bad. I would read it as average. Service was decent... nothing too spectacular. Parking was easy although the closest spots to the restaurant are all 30 minute spots so you might have to park just slightly farther away for the two hour spots in their lot. Always a great breakfast spot. They don't take reservations, and the wait can get a little long on a Sunday morning if you go a little later on. Totally worth the wait! Every visit I get the cafe de olla. Slightly sweet, slightly cinnamon, perfectly pairs with every breakfast. We love the fact that they have strong gluten free options. I would've given this place a better review if it wasn't because of the one fact that the carne asada add on I got for my chilaquiles as $6. The chilaquiles itself was around $15 I think, which is reasonable and well priced for how it tasted and its portion. I got the carne asada bc I was hungry and I assumed (incorrectly) that it would be a big portion of meat since it was $6. Unfortunate what I got was kibble. Breakfast Republic had been around for a while, and I'm glad that we got a chance to check it out! This place is definitely a good place in Irvine for brunch. Located near UCI, crowded parking lot Ambience (9/10): Breakfast Republic has both indoor and outdoor seating. We waited for like an hour on a Saturday. Nice, clean place, but the tables are very close to each other on the patio, so not a lot privacy. Food: (9/10): Banana Split French Toast (9/10): Great Potion, buttery and yummy french toast. My bf also ordered a side of sunny side up and bacon, but the French toast itself is already very filling. Jurassic Pork Benedict (9.5/10): Egg benedict is my go-to order for brunch, and their Jurassic Pork Benedict does not disappoint! The candied bacon is thick and the flavor was amazing. It goes really well with the creamy hollandaise sauce, the runny egg. The potato side was also seasoned very nicely. Definitely gonna come back for this dish! Service (9/10): Our waitress was nice and attentive Price (9/10): Reasonable for the potion, especially in Irvine. I came in this morning to try the restaurant since it always smells good. Every time I go to Trader Joe's after my Pilates class it smells amazing and I went early morning around 7:45 am and it was so nice. Great place to talk and get work done. I was dining by myself and I had no issues the service was amazing. My server Jose was so inviting, friendly, and patient. He helped recommend me some amazing dishes. So I will have to be back to try more because I didn't enough space in my belly left to eat more. What did I have? 1. Portuguese Linguisa Sausage + Upgraded Potatoes 2. Cafe de Olla Food Review: 1. The Portuguese Linguisa Sausage was a reccomendations from the serve and it came with these scrambled egg omlet with veggies and the sausages were bite size and it was amazing. I tried it with the hot sauce they have there and it was very good. I usually like having vegetables in my meal and I was very delighted by the potatoes also very well cut and bit size and they had bits of freshly cooked bacon and it complemented very well with the Brussels sprouts as well. In the order it also comes with your choice of toast and I got sourdough and it was the perfect size for me. They gave me a bowl with jam and butter but I felt like it wasn't like butter almost like a whipped cream and the jam is made in house. Absolutely incredible. After trying it one toast I smothered the rest as much as I could on the other slice it was just that amazing. 2. The cafe de olla came in a very big generous size cup with a creamer on the side which was a nice touch. And I didn't know but it is bottomless so they will continue to refill your cup and for only about $4.75 I think this was such a steal. The coffee had a delicious cinnamon flavor and had a good amount of sweetness. I tried it with and without creamer and both ways are amazing. I would definitely say it's friendly for people who aren't super into coffee this one is not too strong and it isn't bitter at all. Overall: The food pricing was very fair considering the portion size $17 an the upgraded potatoes was an extra 2.50. With the 4.75 bottomless cafe de olla. The subtotal for everything after tax was $26.13 which I believe is very fair. Just being in the restaurant and noticing the environment the decorations was so beautiful and such an experience all the chicken themed items it was so adorable to see. The server Jose and his team were so inviting. His manager even seated me personally giving me a give and spacious big table with a good view even though I went by myself. The food is chefs kiss! I give this restaurant a high recommendation from me as a big foodie. Will be back to try more dishes and more unique drinks well! Thank you! read more
