Fresca Waffles, my 5 year old ate 2 of them, absolutely wonderful with the crema. Birria was super tender, I always enjoy the consume broth and wish I had more, it wasn't super fatty or oily which is a problem with some places but not here. Wagyu cheeseburger was juicy and bun super soft. Matcha iced horchata mix was a great balance of sweet and fresh with the earthiness of the match. I love the east meets south fusion going on here. However I echo the sentiments others have shared; the food here lacks flavor. Our birria taquitos tasted like unsalted deep fried tortilla and unseasoned beef. we were looking at Costa Mesa brunch spots on this fine Sunday morning and when we found Pradera, we excited to try it because it looked vibey and cute! we got there @ 12:15pm, put our name on the waitlist, and were seated by 12:55pm (thank you yelp waitlist texts!). not bad! one thing i want to note right off the bat: i do think the service was not that great. we were seated outside, and after we were seated we almost immediately had our order taken and waters brought to the table. then, our server let us know she was going on lunch, but that we would be taken care of. and post-brunch i gotta be honest: we were nottt taken care of. not ever checked in on, no water refill was given, and no one was even coming outside to even try to get their attention (other than to quickly drop off food orders then scurry back in). i had to wait a while before getting our server's attention even at the end for the check. maybe service is better for inside seating ?? idk but.. definitely not my favorite service i've had and really affected our experience :( now onto the food, here's what we ordered: - iced horchata matcha latte: the star was definitely the horchata foam - it overtook the matcha but honestly it was yummmm - cucumber breeze mule: i normally loveeee cucumber drinks, but this one tasted.. clear if that makes sense LOL. not bad, just clear.. i wish it had maybe a little sweetness + more cucumber flavor to it - smoked brisket wagyu burger: good barbecue burger, but nothing particularly special. happy that the brisket was not dry though! - birria melt: the reason i wanted to come here and it did not disappoint!! the bread was nice and soft and soaked up the consome perfectly, and the birria was so flavorful! it was my favorite dish for sure overall the experience was okay, but we left with full happy stomachs. would we come back again? maybe!! read more

ORDER banana foster pancakes (5/5) THE BEST!! it was so good, but soso sweet. this truly amazed me. definitely a must try if you visit pradera. flat iron steak chilaquiles (4.5/5) both the green and red salsas were so good, so the chilaquiles was yummyl. we got it with the flat iron steak which costed an additional $10. eggs benedict with asada (3/5) breakfast burrito (3/5) im not the biggest fan of eggs benedict, but the asada was quite dry as well. we ate the burrito last so maybe it didn't taste as good because we were so full, but we didn't like the sausage. overall, the burrito was alright. i wouldn't get it next time. horchata matcha (3.5/5) light matcha flavor, but the horchata foam on top was so yummy. the foam tasted like ice cream! overall, i'd definitely come back and recommend to others! the banana foster is a must :P SERVICE nothing special about the service. the server wasn't overly friendly, but wasn't rude or anything either. It was the last day of our trip and we were about to drive home, but I wanted a nice filling breakfast before our long drive. We went the day before memorial Day on a Monday so it might have made this spot a bit busier than normal. It took about 20 minutes after putting our names on the list although it had estimated 10 to 15 min when we had done it. I was happy we were sat outside as it was a lovely day, and the table was this really cool slab of wood that was shaped really beautifully, and overall they really put energy into the aesthetics to make a fun vibe We both got the brisket Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached, the portion large, and the potatoes on the side nice and crispy. We also added a side of avocado. The overall taste was great, but the brisket on its own would have been a bit dry. As a whole dish though it was delicious. I also got a coconut strawberry smoothie and it tasted great even if it ran a little sweet. My son kept drinking mine, so I had to get a second. It's one of the many California spots that just reminds me that this state seems to have the best brunches. I would definitely come back if in the area again. read more

Parking is super easy as it's in a huge plaza! We came for brunch in a Saturday, and the wait time was not bad at all! We had Sam as our server! She was top notch from start to finish! She was super friendly and careful with detail when taking our order like making sure she even got our milk preference for our drinks! The food came out quick, and everything was so delicious! Pradera is a sit down restaurant adjacent to Mercado Gonzalez in Costa Mesa. One of my golf regulars suggested we come here after our round, and I'm glad he did. They offer a number of starters. We opted for Guac w/ chicharrones & chips, and queso fundido w/ longanisa. First of all, the guac was super fresh, and went well w/ the chicharrones. Chips are kinda standard, but they make theirs in-house from the blue corn tortillas. Likewise, the queso fundido was very tasty, albeit on the smaller side. The app only came w/ 4 tortillas, but there were 5 of us. Pradera also has a wide array of entrees. I had the birria, two of my friends had enchiladas suiza, and another had mole (not sure what my fifth friend ordered). I also saw chilaquiles on the menu that I would like to try next time. The meat in my birria was super tender, and went well w/ the corn tortillas. The consomme had a little kick, and was nicely seasoned. Both of my friends who ordered the enchiladas couldn't finish their dishes (one friend usually eats everyone's leftovers). Regarding the ambiance, they have nice aire libre seating during good weather. You can also sit indoors if you like: The place is big. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. The only downside regarding the service is they didn't have their alcohol license as of 6/3/26. When they do receive their license we understand it will be beer & wine only. I look forward to returning to Pradera after golf soon. Its very near the golf course, the food is much better vs the Americanized Mex place we frequent, and the service is very good. read more

Immediate 5 stars after reading that their Cafe de olla was UNLIMITED! When I first moved to California I never heard of Cafe de olla until my co-worker brought it homemade and it changed my life and added a new coffee drink on my rotation! My friend and I were looking for a cute like brunch spot to catch up at and decided on Pradera Brunch since it's right next to Northgate! The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and service was amazing. At first we were seated inside, but my friend started to have a migraine a few minutes after being seated and the serve was very accommodating and was ok moving us to the patio seating. Both of us were wanting to try a lot of things and instead of getting an entree each we decided to share their Burrito Mojado with Sausage and also shared their Fresas Con crema waffles! Pro Tip: We asked for the red and green salsa to be put on the side so we both could adjust how much we wanted on our burrito and also try both salsas instead of one. Both were amazing and I would suggest getting both! The burrito mojado was really good! I enjoyed all the flared inside the burrito and they didn't skip out on any fillings! Their Fresas con crema was the star of the show! It was light and not too sweet, the fresh strawberries truly some balance to it! The staff stayed on top of refills and checked in often without being intrusive, which made the whole experience feel smooth and comfortable. The food itself was yummy. The breakfast skillet was hearty and flavorful with perfectly cooked egg whites, crispy potatoes, melted cheese, peppers, and juicy sausage links. It felt like elevated comfort food, simple breakfast flavors done really well. The Lengua en su Jugo (stew) dish was rich, savory, and packed with flavor. The onion, radish, lime and cilantro topped it off perfectly; adding texture and freshness. The grilled pork belly was another standout. It had that perfect caramelized sear on the outside while still staying tender and juicy inside. You could tell it was cooked carefully because the texture was spot on and the flavor was bold without being overwhelming. To drink we the chai latte which was smooth and creamy, beautifully presented, and even had a fun surprise hidden at the bottom -- a little cow figure inside the cup. That tiny detail honestly tied the whole restaurant theme together. We also tried the Mocha Chocolate Abuelita Frappe with oat milk (oat milk costs extra, FYI), completely over the top in the best way possible! Awesomely delicious is what I'd have to say to describe this place. The decor is vibrant and its sandwich on the side it Northgate. The server was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. I ended up getting the Tres leches French toast, country potatoes, and strawberry milkshake. The tres leches French toast was amazing! It was flavorful and sweet and hit all the right notes of what you'd want as a brunch food. The country potatoes filled the more savory palette to complement the sweetness of the French toast. Lastly the strawberry milkshake tasted delicious and not at all artificial. I love the presentation as it's in a bag which makes it perfect to take to-go. I came here on a Wednesday around 12:45pm so it was not busy at all. Lots of empty tables. I think weekends are a different story. There were a lot of lunch offerings available in addition to the regular menu, which included the protein bowl. I ordered that with the tinga chicken, beans and brown rice. Pretty good. I visited Pradera for the first time on a Thursday around 11:00 a.m. When we arrived, it wasn't too crowded, but around noon it became much busier. The interior and service were both excellent. As for what we ordered, we tried the lavender iced coffee, the vanilla-flavored iced coffee, and the Abuelita chocolate. All of them were good, but my favorite was the iced latte. For food, we ordered the Bananas Foster, chilaquiles, and tres leches waffles. I especially enjoyed the chilaquiles and would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

Dishes we ordered were chilaquiles with grilled chicken, pork belly eggs Benedict, and a single pancake. Chilaquiles was what my husband ordered and he said it was the best he's had. I ordered the pork belly Benedict, something I've never had before and it was delicious. The hollandaise sauce was the best I've tasted and the pork belly was marinated in shoyu. it paired sooo well with the eggs Benedict. I loved this dish. The only critique would be that the pork belly was slightly tough. However, flavors were perfect. The pancake was good too but nothing out of the ordinary. I couldn't finish it and saved half for the next day. They were pretty busy but it seemed sufficiently staffed. However, Service was nice and polite but a bit slow. Love the decor and interior design, it takes you briefly into the world of Tulum, or a tropical place, or a place where you feel like you're on vacation, and not in Costa Mesa! It tasted like tough bread soaked with milk. I did enjoy my wife's Queso Fundido con Longaniza which is Oaxacan melted cheese with pico de gallo and chopped longaniza served with hot tortillas. This was my first time visiting with my two daughters, and we were really excited to try this restaurant. When we arrived for our reservation, we were seated in the far corner next to the bar. The music was incredibly loud, and the bass was so intense that I could actually feel it rattling in my chest. I had to ask if the volume could be turned down, and thankfully they did, so that wasn't a major issue. Unfortunately, our server was not very friendly. She seemed to have an attitude throughout our meal, and I'm not sure why since the restaurant wasn't very busy. I honestly felt uncomfortable asking her for anything. Thankfully, another server who was seating a table nearby was incredibly kind and helped us when we needed something. The food itself was very good, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Fighting for a spot with all the grocery go'ers is a traumatic experience here every time- and people are aggressive and rude and dangerous drivers around here - and I grew up drinking in NYC so I know crazy bad drivers... Food though - was quite good. Service was ok - slow. And food for five came out at 4 different times over 10 minute span not great... and we had to fix two charges on the bill that were added erroneously as well before paying.
