Fresca Waffles, my 5 year old ate 2 of them, absolutely wonderful with the crema. Birria was super tender, I always enjoy the consume broth and wish I had more, it wasn't super fatty or oily which is a problem with some places but not here. Wagyu cheeseburger was juicy and bun super soft. Matcha iced horchata mix was a great balance of sweet and fresh with the earthiness of the match. I love the east meets south fusion going on here. Service was excellent and we will be back, I'm just too full to think about it but I'm making room for next time!
we were looking at Costa Mesa brunch spots on this fine Sunday morning and when we found Pradera, we excited to try it because it looked vibey and cute! we got there @ 12:15pm, put our name on the waitlist, and were seated by 12:55pm (thank you yelp waitlist texts!). not bad! one thing i want to note right off the bat: i do think the service was not that great. we were seated outside, and after we were seated we almost immediately had our order taken and waters brought to the table. then, our server let us know she was going on lunch, but that we would be taken care of. and post-brunch i gotta be honest: we were nottt taken care of. not ever checked in on, no water refill was given, and no one was even coming outside to even try to get their attention (other than to quickly drop off food orders then scurry back in). i had to wait a while before getting our server's attention even at the end for the check. maybe service is better for inside seating ?? idk but.. definitely not my favorite service i've had and really affected our experience :( now onto the food, here's what we ordered: - iced horchata matcha latte: the star was definitely the horchata foam - it overtook the matcha but honestly it was yummmm - cucumber breeze mule: i normally loveeee cucumber drinks, but this one tasted.. clear if that makes sense LOL. not bad, just clear.. i wish it had maybe a little sweetness + more cucumber flavor to it - smoked brisket wagyu burger: good barbecue burger, but nothing particularly special. happy that the brisket was not dry though! - birria melt: the reason i wanted to come here and it did not disappoint!! the bread was nice and soft and soaked up the consome perfectly, and the birria was so flavorful! it was my favorite dish for sure overall the experience was okay, but we left with full happy stomachs. would we come back again? maybe!!
ORDER banana foster pancakes (5/5) THE BEST!! it was so good, but soso sweet. this truly amazed me. definitely a must try if you visit pradera. flat iron steak chilaquiles (4.5/5) both the green and red salsas were so good, so the chilaquiles was yummyl. we got it with the flat iron steak which costed an additional $10. eggs benedict with asada (3/5) breakfast burrito (3/5) im not the biggest fan of eggs benedict, but the asada was quite dry as well. we ate the burrito last so maybe it didn't taste as good because we were so full, but we didn't like the sausage. overall, the burrito was alright. i wouldn't get it next time. horchata matcha (3.5/5) light matcha flavor, but the horchata foam on top was so yummy. the foam tasted like ice cream! overall, i'd definitely come back and recommend to others! the banana foster is a must :P SERVICE nothing special about the service. the server wasn't overly friendly, but wasn't rude or anything either. AMBIANCE very nice inside! there are also tables outside.
It was the last day of our trip and we were about to drive home, but I wanted a nice filling breakfast before our long drive. We went the day before memorial Day on a Monday so it might have made this spot a bit busier than normal. It took about 20 minutes after putting our names on the list although it had estimated 10 to 15 min when we had done it. I was happy we were sat outside as it was a lovely day, and the table was this really cool slab of wood that was shaped really beautifully, and overall they really put energy into the aesthetics to make a fun vibe We both got the brisket Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached, the portion large, and the potatoes on the side nice and crispy. We also added a side of avocado. The overall taste was great, but the brisket on its own would have been a bit dry. As a whole dish though it was delicious. I also got a coconut strawberry smoothie and it tasted great even if it ran a little sweet. My son kept drinking mine, so I had to get a second. It's one of the many California spots that just reminds me that this state seems to have the best brunches. I would definitely come back if in the area again.
Food, service, and ambiance all was great. There was so many people waiting outside and we got a bit nervous on a long wait but it went very quickly. Literally like 15 minutes. Will definitely be back!!
Parking is super easy as it's in a huge plaza! We came for brunch in a Saturday, and the wait time was not bad at all! We had Sam as our server! She was top notch from start to finish! She was super friendly and careful with detail when taking our order like making sure she even got our milk preference for our drinks! The food came out quick, and everything was so delicious! I got the birria beef omelette, and the tres leches waffles!! I can't wait to come back and get this again! I know I'm going to be dreaming of these waffles!!!
Pradera is a sit down restaurant adjacent to Mercado Gonzalez in Costa Mesa. One of my golf regulars suggested we come here after our round, and I'm glad he did. They offer a number of starters. We opted for Guac w/ chicharrones & chips, and queso fundido w/ longanisa. First of all, the guac was super fresh, and went well w/ the chicharrones. Chips are kinda standard, but they make theirs in-house from the blue corn tortillas. Likewise, the queso fundido was very tasty, albeit on the smaller side. The app only came w/ 4 tortillas, but there were 5 of us. Pradera also has a wide array of entrees. I had the birria, two of my friends had enchiladas suiza, and another had mole (not sure what my fifth friend ordered). I also saw chilaquiles on the menu that I would like to try next time. The meat in my birria was super tender, and went well w/ the corn tortillas. The consomme had a little kick, and was nicely seasoned. Both of my friends who ordered the enchiladas couldn't finish their dishes (one friend usually eats everyone's leftovers). Regarding the ambiance, they have nice aire libre seating during good weather. You can also sit indoors if you like: The place is big. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. The only downside regarding the service is they didn't have their alcohol license as of 6/3/26. When they do receive their license we understand it will be beer & wine only. I look forward to returning to Pradera after golf soon. Its very near the golf course, the food is much better vs the Americanized Mex place we frequent, and the service is very good.
The Fairly Small Restaurant Is Located On Right Side Of The Market When You're Walking Up Towards It. Make Sure You Sign-In On The Waiting List Pad Because It Gets Packed!! The Noise Level Is Pretty High! My First Visit Was On Saturday, 6/6/26 @ 11:00am. The Staff Is Very Friendly & The Decor Is Super Cute!! I Had The Shrimp Ceviche Which Was Fresh/Good & The Iced Matcha With Strawberry Foam Was Good. The Eggs Benedict With Pork Belly Was Good As Well.
Food is really good every time! Service is average, they're always super busy when we go and we never get acknowledged at the entrance while we wait and there's been times we've waited for a long time without anyone saying anything. They're always patient with the mess the kids make though! Place is beautifully decorated!
Not just brunch ! Friday -Sunday they are open until 9pm. This place checks all the spots . Great interior & seating , attentive staff & high quality food ! The Charo beans are amazing . Asada was cooked to a perfect medium . We got the plate that gives you. A little of everything & it delivered! The mahi ceviche was deceivingly spicy but the mango & lime smoothed it out ! Our friend got the asada salad & it really was incredible, this is a must order if you love salads ! Nacho made some suggestions & they were spot on . He recommended the wagyu burger but we will try that one next time . This is a really amazing find with a great patio as well
Big portions for reasonable prices. Great for sharing. Great ambiance. Be prepared for a long line to get in. But once seated, service is fast and excellent.
Immediate 5 stars after reading that their Cafe de olla was UNLIMITED! When I first moved to California I never heard of Cafe de olla until my co-worker brought it homemade and it changed my life and added a new coffee drink on my rotation! My friend and I were looking for a cute like brunch spot to catch up at and decided on Pradera Brunch since it's right next to Northgate! The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and service was amazing. At first we were seated inside, but my friend started to have a migraine a few minutes after being seated and the serve was very accommodating and was ok moving us to the patio seating. Both of us were wanting to try a lot of things and instead of getting an entree each we decided to share their Burrito Mojado with Sausage and also shared their Fresas Con crema waffles! Pro Tip: We asked for the red and green salsa to be put on the side so we both could adjust how much we wanted on our burrito and also try both salsas instead of one. Both were amazing and I would suggest getting both! The burrito mojado was really good! I enjoyed all the flared inside the burrito and they didn't skip out on any fillings! Their Fresas con crema was the star of the show! It was light and not too sweet, the fresh strawberries truly some balance to it! Will be bringing back more friends here to break fast and enjoy great food!
From the moment you walk up to this place, it already feels like an experience rather than just a meal. Tucked in right next to Northgate you might miss it at first! The atmosphere is beautiful with warm lighting, natural wood tables, woven hanging lamps, soft pink floral décor, and a modern indoor-outdoor layout that somehow feels both trendy and cozy at the same time. If you sit outside the hanging lamps provide warmth. The cherry blossom tree and artistic wall accents give it a relaxing, almost tropical café vibe. The service was just as impressive as the décor. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind from the moment we arrived. Food and drinks came out fast; the presentation and aroma had us ready to eat. The staff stayed on top of refills and checked in often without being intrusive, which made the whole experience feel smooth and comfortable. The food itself was yummy. The breakfast skillet was hearty and flavorful with perfectly cooked egg whites, crispy potatoes, melted cheese, peppers, and juicy sausage links. It felt like elevated comfort food, simple breakfast flavors done really well. The Lengua en su Jugo (stew) dish was rich, savory, and packed with flavor. The onion, radish, lime and cilantro topped it off perfectly; adding texture and freshness. The grilled pork belly was another standout. It had that perfect caramelized sear on the outside while still staying tender and juicy inside. You could tell it was cooked carefully because the texture was spot on and the flavor was bold without being overwhelming. To drink we the chai latte which was smooth and creamy, beautifully presented, and even had a fun surprise hidden at the bottom -- a little cow figure inside the cup. That tiny detail honestly tied the whole restaurant theme together. We also tried the Mocha Chocolate Abuelita Frappe with oat milk (oat milk costs extra, FYI), completely over the top in the best way possible! Loaded with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, a Ferrero Rocher hazelnut chocolate and a wafer. It looked like a dessert masterpiece and tasted just as good! Overall, this restaurant nails every category: atmosphere, presentation, flavor, creativity, and service. It's the kind of place that works well for a brunch date or brunch with girlfriends!
Oh my goodness. Our experience at Pradera was an 100/10. It absolutely exceeded our expectations! First, the restaurant is beautiful. Gorgeous decorations, indoor/outdoor seating, clean, and attached to Northgate (so we can shop after). The service was top tier. I really really appreciated Miguel for going out of his way to help us and being over purse holders. Jessica was our waitress and she was AMAZING. She made sure we were always taken care of and had everything we needed (and everything we didn't know we needed lol) And then the food. Oh myyyyy gosh. We ordered the bunuelos pancakes and pork belly tacos. Both were 10/10. Taco's were so flavorful and amazing (very filling too!). The pancakes were just perfection. Yummy pancakes with bunuelos in between each layer and horchata on top. Chefs kiss! I also ordered the horchata matcha. Also a 10/10. The flavors were perfection and the presentation was great. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of the service. The waitress was very nice, welcoming, and great at explaining the menu--she's definitely good at sales since almost everything is an additional charge, which is fine. However, the food wasn't what I expected. I was hoping for more flavor, but it fell a bit short. For people who aren't familiar with authentic Mexican food, it might still be okay, but personally I was expecting better. On the positive side, the quality is good, the place is super clean, and the decorations are very nice. read more

Cool little breakfast and brunch spot. I guess it used to be called vaca brunch which probably confused a lot people given that there is already well know Spanish / tapas steakhouse called VACA in Costa Mesa as well. I'm not sure how I feel about pradera but whatever I guess it means FIELD or range in Spanish. anyways the Chilaquiles were pretty good, carne asada a bit dry and rough though. Still good overall, and the beans were great. The pancakes were solid according to the girlie. The mazapán frappe and coffee were also pretty satisfactory. I regret not ordering the enchiladas suizas though. Oh and the staff is really friendly and accommodating. Shout out to our server Mirta B. She was super lovely and we enjoyed her vibe. read more

My family and I came here for a birthday brunch for my mom, and it ended up being a great choice. Sam helped us out and the service was honestly amazing--super attentive without being over the top. The food was really good too. It's a nice twist on Mexican food without being crazy expensive, which I appreciated. Everything we tried was worth it. The atmosphere was also a plus--the music wasn't loud and it didn't feel distracting, so we could actually enjoy the meal and hang out. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. read more

Pradera is truly a special place. I've dined with them like 5 times now since late 2025 and every time I feel like I find something new that I love about it! First, this place feels like a hug. Can't explain it- just come and see for yourself you'll understand. Their liquados are BOMB- made fresh to order with fresh fruit. My fave dish of theirs is their enfrijoladas; I'd never had this dish before coming here, and now I think about them OFTEN. Today was a super special visit tho- our serve Sam was really nice, helpful, and we even got to meet one of the owners, Nacho. The two of them made my partner and I feel like part of the fam. This place has been on our list to try. We are at Northgate market every other weekend and we see the large crowd. It wasn't till after our meal I checked out the reviews. I like to try the food myself before I read the reviews and honestly a lot of great reviews so I may have to give it another try great atmosphere nice ambience. Our waitress was kind, looking around at all The plates around us presentation was beautiful, but I am sorry to say my Chilaquiles was very bland. I was expecting more flavor and some melted jack cheese would've been nice and My wife's Machaca had a very strong burnt taste not sure what happened on this Sunday but hopefully I can talk My Wife into going back and trying another dish. This place is so hip and cute and inside the coolest shopping center ever, I can't believe I've never been here before!! We came Friday morning around 8am and it filled up around 9 am since it is a smaller restaurant. The servers were all so kind and we felt very taken care of. The food itself was okay. I asked for my steak medium and it was very dry and the most well done steak I've ever had. Typically I would have spoken up, but another member of my table returned his coffee because it tasted too sweet so I didn't wanna return my steak too. I had to dip it in ketchup to swallow it down LOL. I also had to ask for salt and pepper for my egg but I think that's a personal preference thing. My friend's meals were great though! I had the pink Carlota and no kidding, the yummiest top 5 non-alcohol beverage I've had. I wanted another one but we had to leave!! As someone who rarely drinks, I LOVED that they had a plethora of FUN, non-alcoholic drinks. The best part was for 3 people, the bill was only $100. I mean where else can you get yummy drinks for only $7!! My steak skillet was only $23 I believe?? Very affordable for what you're getting and for that reason, I will definitely be back. read more

Okay let's see. Where to begin-- The short version, if you're looking for Mexican cuisine, this ain't it. La comida estaba bien desabrido y reseco. First, parking is a nightmare because it's right next to the Mercado, so there is a lot of traffic in that area of the shopping center. The benches outside for guests waiting to be sat are right next to tables where people are eating, they are separated by a short wall and a clear glass window. We were sat at one of those tables and when someone sat there and whipped their hair, it landed on our table through the spacing of glass window. There wasn't a long wait to be sat and we joined the waitlist from an iPad. Then you receive a text to see the host when your table is ready. Our waitress seemed annoyed or overworked or just having a bad day. She kind of pressed or pushed us to order food. Didn't seem happy to be there at all. Which would have been fine had she not been pushy for us to order. I like to take my time and look over the menu since I had never been there. But she asked us when she walked up "ready to order food" and then again right after I had said we only decided on drinks at the moment. So service was mid. Still tipped her 20% Food was the worst. Very bland, no seasoning. Very americanized. Which is the vibe of the restaurant. It's like hispanic fusion, very hip. But some places pull that off and it's still savory delicious food. This was not that. We got some "birria tacos". They were hard, dry and tasted nothing like birria tacos. I also got the huarache Benedict from the seasonal summer menu and it was also hard, mildly warm, and very bland. All in all it was not a very good experience. Do not recommend if you're in the area for brunch. I'm not sure how the lunch menu is. If you're looking for instagram worthy place and not so picky or like plain food then this place is for you. Came to this spot on Saturday around 10:30am and it was busy! We end up waiting over an hour which went by fast since we walked around the connected market, Mercado Gonzales. The aesthetics of this place is so cute with a ton of cow decor (very fitting given Vaca means cow!) We were finally seated at the bar (we didn't want to wait longer for a table) and it took a while for a server to come to us. My boyfriend and I ordered the tres leches pancake, chicken chilaquiles, and huevos rancheros to split. Oh my god. Everything was so delicious. They also had a pepper sesame sauce that you can add which had a nice flavor and kick. The pancake wasn't overly sweet and was stacked with berries. The chilaquiles was generously portioned, but the chicken was a bit dry. The huevos rancheros was perfect. Had the perfect amount of beans, eggs, and sauce. It came with potatoes which were a bit overdone though. The food was amazing and the price is reasonable. Definitely expect a wait when visiting though. read more

Pradera restaurant was a bit difficult to find as it is tucked away near Wells Fargo Bank, adjacent to Mercado Store. Since they do not accept reservations, it tends to be very busy. We were accommodated in the outdoor seating area, which was warmed by heaters. The food portions were generous and the quality was exceptional. Although they only offer mocktails, the atmosphere is well-suited for a pleasant brunch. read more

The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful! it's bright and the decor is gorgeous and the whole restaurant is open so it's so bright and welcoming. The food was some of the best we've ever had. Everything looked insane and tasted even better 11/10 for sure. Plz do yourself a favor and order the horchata matcha it was so dang good!!! Wow, an AMAZING FIND!! Right next to a Mercado with a cute environment is a delicious brunch spot. Super beautiful inside, we were helped by Liz who was very busy, but knew how to do her job! Also, only around a 30 min wait at 11 AM on a Sunday! Food that was amazing: Chile relleno Benedict!!! I was CRAVING a chile relleno and I loved the Benedict version, honestly I don't even think it still needs the biscuit underneath since it's already fried, but it worked!! Great flavors. Potatoes were super delicious too. I split a side of carne asada with my friend for $10- it was yummy!! The fresas pancakes as well as the banana foster pancakes were a super great Sweet treat, Warning- the banana one comes with a heavy amount of sauce! Not the best food: My friends were not a fan of the smoked brisket Benedict's unfortunately, they didn't enjoy the quality or taste of the brisket nor were they really "egg Benedict"-type of people. We were excited to try this place, the ambiance is pretty fun with colorful animals and decorations around with a unique chandelier covering a good amount of the ceiling, there service was ok nothing amazing, fairly attentive. The food was sub par and a little disappointing. The banana pancakes are raved about and we found them to be way too sweet and not that enjoyable, i got a chilaquiles plate with green and red sauce it was suppose to have eggs and i didn't get any. The flavors were ok, the meat was undercooked for what i asked for, the drink was good but a little steep on price point and when asked if i wanted whip cream or not i didn't expect to be charged for it, that was distasteful. read more

Jessica made our brunch experience absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, she was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. She checked in on us regularly without being overbearing, made great recommendations, and made sure our drinks and food came out perfectly. Her positive attitude and genuine kindness really stood out and made us feel valued as guests. The food at Pradera Brunch was delicious, but Jessica's exceptional service is what made the experience memorable. We found this place and it looked like a little hidden gem with a great ambiance and food. Don't get me wrong it's a very aesthetic and fun atmosphere and the food was good. We were greeted nicely and sat down reasonably quick. BUT...were ignored for a very long time. A couple who came in after us received drinks and food before we grabbed someone to serve us. There were plenty of servers and it wasn't busy at all. So much so that the servers were standing around talking and the woman behind the bar was on her phone. A server even walked to a pair of ladies seated next to us multiple times to talk to them and keep their drinks full. I honestly feel like we were discriminated against due to being the ONLY white people dining. The server that we pulled over was very pleasant and helped us right away. She was a young lady and I wish I had gotten her name. As good as the food was I will never go back. Also, I don't want to hear about how they will use this as a learning tool and help future customers. That's a very basic reply to basically say "We don't really care". read more

Super cute Mexican brunch spot! The decor and ambiance is both lovely, comforting and modern all in one. We had the conchas with our cafe de olla and they were freshly baked and so warm/fluffy! Our food was just as good, with the star of the show being the pancakes! We almost ordered the same toppings on a waffle, but the waitress suggested their pancakes better and we were so glad we changed our choice! They were light, fluffy and perfectly cooked. Located outside the Mercado Market, Pradera Brunch has this happening vibe that instantly puts you in weekend mode. Everything we had was vibrant, fresh, and beautifully presented. The ceviche was a standout: bright, citrusy, loaded with flavor, and topped with perfectly ripe avocado. It felt light but deeply satisfying. Everything about to was so aesthetic. The house chips were thick, crisp, and clearly made to scoop generously, which I always appreciate. My friend & I also tried their lattes. We absolutely loved the little cows that peeped out through the mugs. It's the kind of place where you can linger, talk, and actually enjoy your food without feeling rushed. This is a very busy location, so I would highly recommend reservations. Since it's next door to the Northgate Mercado location, parking can be crazy. It took about 30 min to get sat, but well worth the wait! It is so cute inside, the decor is perfection. The food was amazing as well as the coffees! Steak was so tender and perfectly seasoned. The beans were so good, and I'm not even a big beans person. I will be back for sure! read more
We came here for Saturday brunch! We ordered the mahi mahi ceviche as well as the tabla campestre. They had a really good strawberry drink that was serviced in a plastic bag. We enjoyed everything we ordered and had plenty of leftovers. Interior is well decorated! Parking lot gets busy but we were able to find a spot. Sam was our server and she was great! read more

My friend was in town for the weekend and we decided to go to brunch here. We joined the walk up list when we got there and got called back about half an hour later. Our server was Sam M and she was super friendly and attentive. She noticed I was holding my bag in my lap so she brought over something I could hang my bag on which was really nice. I ordered the chile relleno Benedict and it was amazing! I also tried the lychee mimosa and it was delicious. My friend had a fresa licuado and the presentation of it was super cute. I had a great experience at Pradera Brunch! Our server, Sam, was super nice and attentive throughout the whole meal. They checked in on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed, which made the experience even better. I ordered the wet breakfast burrito and it was absolutely delicious and really flavorful and satisfying. We also shared the mahi mahi nachos, which were amazing and something I'd definitely order again. Overall, the food was great and the service from Sam really stood out. This place is great I'm only disappointed I didn't try it sooner as a resident of Costa Mesa. I could tell by looking at their relatively exotic menu the chef more than likely knew what they were doing. I ate there for the first time this morning and got the pork belly fried rice. I don't ordinarily eat pork, but that dish sounded delicious and it definitely was. There are many other items I look forward to trying on their breakfast menu. Last but certainly not least their prices are very reasonable which seems extremely rare for quality food these days. No wait time, but the inconvenience was that they did not have (3) of the appetizers that they offer in their menu. We ordered and the gal kept coming back saying "sorry we don't have that" second time "sorry we don't have that either" and the third time she herself sent her manager to tell us that they don't have it either . She mentioned she was going to give us the ceviche appetizer on the house due to not being able to serve us the 3 different items we had originally wanted. However when the bill came they charged us for it and we had to bring it up, very uncomfortable. Also they don't sell alcohol and they also don't have a restroom we have to walk into northgate to use theirs .. won't be back read more

Do you offer any vegan options or easy to modify options to make vegan?
The menu doesn't denote vegan options so hard to say if anything's truly prepared separately to avoid animal product contact. There appears to be vegetarian options but I wouldn't say anything is strictly vegan unless call and ask specifically.
Is there a public parking?
Yes, but because it's next door to Mercado Nothgate, it gets full around 10 am.

Hello. You can either book a reservation through open table or walk in. I didn’t have a reservation and got seated within 30 minutes.
