Stopped by the grand opening last week which was a success! This spot offers a variety of coffee, matcha, and unique lattes along with pastries. Service was great and drinks came out super fast! I do wish that the pastries could be warmed up as an option. I tried the Dubai Chocolate cookie which was a little bit on the dry side. It was tasty, but not soft and more firm. Loved the black sesame latte and pistachio latte. The ambiance and aesthetic was chic and would be a great spot to work remotely or stop by for a coffee date. Seats are limited. Would definitely come back to try other lattes.
Menu has been revamped! I like how the Pistachio Latte is not too sweet, but the pistachio flavor got a little lost once it met the coffee. Would love a bit more nutty punch to really make it shine. Staff are warm and smiley, happily offer recommendations, and quickly make drinks. The interior is aesthetic with lots of guests studying. Looks like a promising refresh for the cafe ~ I just need that pistachio to speak up :)
Came here randomly for a quick coffee break. They have a good amount of indoor seating but it was all packed for a Saturday late afternoon. We got the black sesame latte and the einspanner latte. The black sesame was very plain and light in flavor. It didn't have a strong black sesame flavor and tasted more milky. The einspanner was good, very strong matcha taste and very creamy. I would get the matcha again but probably not the black sesame.
First look, the entrance and walking in had nice vibes and the design is aesthetically pleasing and I feel it would be a nice place to enjoy reading a book or chilling with friends. Aesthetic Design & Vibes: 5/5 Service was good, friendly cashier and quick to double check and answer questions. Service: 5/5 I ordered the strawberry matcha, Dubai cookie and banana bread. Strawberry Matcha: 3/5, if you prefer a sweet strawberry matcha this won't be the drink for you. I think the syrup of the strawberry is tangy and if that is your style of matcha then it would work out. Dubai cookie: 5/5 I never had a Dubai Cookie, so I can't compare to other ones, but it's tastes good to me, it's not dry, has a smooth chocolate taste, and I do enjoy the crunch inside. Banana bread: 3.5/5, is on the drier side of banana bread. It doesn't taste bad, just not the best I had.

I think it's a good place to lock in on your studies and work though. 4 outlets and strong WiFi. Spacious and not too crowded even on a weekend. Many small tables, both inside and outside. I got the strawberry pistachio matcha and my friends got the double matcha and banana hojicha. My drink was a good blend of flavors but still milk forward. The double matcha only had a whisper of matcha but I guess you can say it was refreshing. The hojicha was smooth and the banana cream was nice. I have a feeling their coffees would be better tho. I did not know that the Hojicha was green tea so I'm letting you dear customer know. The Banana Hojicha was very plain it just felt like I was drinking banana milk (2/10). The flame coffee was better (5/10) and it tasted a lot of brown sugar. I think I am much more disappointed because it was a longer drive for us. Service was quick because there was no line when we got there around 11 am. Again, maybe I didn't try the right things. Price $7.25- $8 per drink
The Moon Coffee is located in Costa Mesa, next to Fleur de Lys, and in the same plaza as Plums and my favorite Sushi Shunka. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. The interior looks very bright and modern. There were a lot of students studying here. They have a kiosk for self ordering. At the time of my visit there was no line so I just ordered with the cashier. I ordered the Black Sesame Latte ($7.50) because it was on the top of the list of their Signature Drinks and also because I enjoy black sesame and was excited to see it on the menu. The drink was made quickly and was presented on the counter a bit pretentiously without the lid. The issue is that they overfilled the cup, which means any attempt I make to put on a lid will make it spill along the edge. Also for the price, the size of the drink is incredible small. I enjoyed the taste of the drink but I was left unsatisfied with such a small cup. I might swing by if I'm already at Sushi Shunka and I need some caffeine to work off the food coma, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

I've tried their matcha, coffee, pastries and honestly it's just ok, nothing memorable. Their double matcha was pretty disappointing tbh...lacked matcha flavor and too much oat milk so it tasted like vanilla. Their strawberry matcha was a bit better though with fresh strawberry puree! And their sea salt mocha reminded me of starbucks chocolate frappe which my friend really liked! Clean girl aesthetic and work-friendly vibes with ample seating, several outlets, and minimal crowds on a weekday. Beware that they blast the music on speaker so you can feel the vibrations under the seats lol but it didn't really bother me.

The menu itself has a good amount of options in different categories, such as milk teas, matcha, and more. They currently have a build your own drink too, which lets you pick your own base and top which I find pretty nice to have as a more customizable option! I went with a BYD and chose a matcha latte as my base and black sesame cream top, and my girlfriend got the pink coconut matcha. In my opinion, the matcha latte itself was a little underwhelming, and it is limited to 12 ounces for about $8 which is a bit small. The pink coconut matcha in comparison was pretty good though! It's just, also small. Taste profile wise though I'd definitely say both are there, and the pink coconut was just a bit better.
what a pretty and spacious cafe! needed my iced coffee after spin.. the moon coffee to the rescue. ordered: flame latte black sesame latte build your own : cold brew with einspanner top the iced flame latte was my favorite. i wasnt ready for all the brown sugar but it was so so good!!! def on the sweet side. service was great. theres also a kiosk avail inside for ordering. parking: large lot. no issues.

I'm at a phase in life where I'm obsessed with Matcha tonic drinks. When I saw that this shop offered Yuzu Matcha tonic, I was sold. I love that this place has a kiosk where you can order or you can order at the front with the cashier. Lots of yummy drinks to choose from in the inside is very aesthetically pleasing. My drink was exactly what I wanted it to be citrusy Matcha bubbly it was perfect. For some reason, parking in this lot was really difficult although it is a large lot. A lot of the spaces were filled up. I think it's because it's next to Plums Café and I saw a lot of people eating over there but other than that, this is a solid coffee shop. read more

I stopped by this coffee shop and tried the Flame Latte--it was so good! The salted cream topping was perfect: not too creamy and not too sweet. Everything was well balanced, and I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back for another one or try their Tiramisu one! read more

Cute cafe with a modern aesthetic. Love the Jellycat theme going on. The workers are awfully awkward and don't have the nicest demeanor. Food and drink are very meh. The drink is very light in flavor. But also there's a lot of cafe everywhere so it's hard to compete. read more
Not sure if we ordered the wrong things or if we came on a bad day but the matcha was not good...The vibes of the cafe were super cute and had plenty of seating so it would make a good study spot!! My friend and I got the matcha einspanner and the black sesame matcha latte but both tasted like water and had no matcha flavor. Moreover, the black sesame matcha was comically small for the price of $7.50 :,) I'm not sure why they put that one in a 12oz cup instead of the 16oz like the einspanner but either way I had to toss it because it just wasn't drinkable. Very spacious inside. Nice decor. Lots of seating. Music was just ok. Parking was plentiful. Barista was fine, quiet but nice. Got a hot latte and an iced tiramisu, both very good. The tiramisu coffee looked and tasted almost exactly like another coffee shop in downtown Fullerton (maybe they trained at the same coffee center?). We ordered: Tiramisu Latte Pistachio Latte Black Sesame Latte Strawberry Matcha Latte White Chocolate Matcha Latte Dubai Chocolate Cookie The Moon Coffee is such a gem! Our drinks were beautifully crafted and taste amazing! My favorite had to be the strawberry matcha latte, as it wasn't too sweet and had a rich, velvety consistency. I enjoyed the strawberry puree! I also really liked their tiramisu latte. It had the perfect balance of bold espresso and creamy sweetness, with notes of cocoa that really captured that classic tiramisu flavor. Their Dubai chocolate cookie was the perfect complement to the drinks! It truly is a chocolate lover's dream with crunchy nuts and toasted kataifi :) The interior of this place is super cute and the staff is very friendly. I'd definitely come back! read more

Stopped by the grand re-opening for The Moon Coffee in Costa Mesa. I had read that it was BOGO free strawberry Matcha, but when I got there the only special they had was on the Guava Matcha. I ordered a double Matcha, which was delicious! Ceremonial grade creamy and smooth, not bitter! I believe it was 12 ounces for $8.50 (oat milk) good but a bit too much ice for my liking! The vibe is cute and it was very crowded. The area has a lot of options for food! They also have food which looked really good, but I didn't order anything! Maybe I'll go back and try something different. It would be worth another visit! I also have to say the customer service was good and pretty fast considering the amount of people ordering! read more

An adorable coffee shop in Costa Mesa. Cozy booths with outlets line the walls, and the interior is bright and airy. I ordered the sparkling yuzu matcha which was well balanced between the citrus and earthy matcha flavors, and the black sesame latte was rich with a mild coffee flavor. The black sesame cream was definitely a hit. Since we came early, there was a lot of space and it was perfect for a work/study session. read more
Honestly very disappointing. The reviews seemed good for this place, so I decided to swing by after the beach for a drink. The store is very bright and airy and cute inside, and I ordered via the tablet; a jasmine milk tea half sweet with boba. My drink came out within a few minutes of waiting but it was so bland and tasted mostly like milk. There was barely any tea flavor and the boba was a bit hard. I ended up just drinking the tea and tossing the remaining boba. They do have nice cups with both a sipper and a straw hole which is nice. Maybe I will give this place a second chance, but would not recommend their Jasmine milk tea. read more

Had a great experience at the Moon Tea House! Firstly, this boba shop is sooo cute. I love the bright, white aesthetic! The staff was also super nice! She lady working answered all my questions. I ended up getting The Moon Kungfu (house special blend light roasted black tea with soy extract creamer, sweet and bitter with notes of chocolate) and the Double Matcha (Ceremonial-grade matcha with a latte base and matcha Einspanner foam, with vanilla syrup). I got the Moon Kungfu with brown sugar mini pearls and pudding at 50% sweetness. I really enjoyed my drink! I think the best sweetness level would have been 75%, but I was so impressed with the flavor. I really looooved the notes of chocolate! I had a few sips of the double matcha and loved the flavor along with the texture of the foam. I think next time I would opt for the honey moon pearls instead of the mini pearls. I liked the mini pearls but thought the straw I had was too big. One sip and my mouth was full of mini pearls and barely any drink so the ratios were a bit off. But that can be easily fixed! We did not plan on coming here at all. We literally just stumbled into it after brunch since it was nearby, and honestly I am glad we did. I ended up ordering the Blue Coconut Cloud Matcha, and since we are big matcha people, I always grade places a little tougher. This one actually surprised me. The flavor was really good. The Blue Coconut Cloud had this nice sweetness to it, but it was not overpowering. It mixed with the matcha really well. The matcha itself was not bitter which was huge, so the balance overall was perfect. Super smooth, super easy to drink. I was honestly impressed. Like I would actually come back here just for that drink if I was in the area and craving a matcha. Totally random find but a good one for sure. Would definitely recommend. read more
I love the moon very much, it's my new go to tea and sweet drink spot. Here are my 3 favorite go to drinks: 1. Flame latte with extra foam or cream (I can't remember) and mini boba 2. Pink drink with lychee and strawberry popping pearls 3. Double matcha with extra einspanner cream on top Love the variety of the menu where there's something fitting my tastes at any time or day. I will admit the matcha is not the best. I've tried all of the matcha drinks at this point and have not been completely pleased until adding the extra cream to the double matcha. I just need it sweeter and creamier and it suffices when I need a good matcha to hit the spot. read more

I had high hopes for this place and was excited to try it since I was in the area. The inside is bright and spacious with cute decor, creating an overall relaxing vibe. There are plenty of outlets along the walls, which is nice for those looking for a study spot. Nice and efficient service. I ordered the strawberry matcha, which I was disappointed by. The drink was very milky and lacks any matcha flavor. Seems that their matcha is pre-made and not hand whisked since I noticed it being squeezed out of a bottle. I like that they used strawberry puree but it didn't taste how I hoped it would--I felt like I was drinking strawberry milk. Unfortunately, the drink fell flat. Probably would not return. read more
Went on a Sunday evening and got the double matcha. The workers were really helpful and took time to recommend me a few drink options. DRINK/ATMOSPHERE - The double matcha was really overly sweet. Next time I'll adjust the sweetness. The matcha here isn't the best but I will definitely try one of their other drink next time. - When I walked into the cafe, they have a good amount of study space and outlets as well. The wifi is also really fast. PARKING - They have TONS of parking right in front of the store. You won't need to worry about parking. read more

Another visit to grab a couple more drinks! Ambiance-wise, the shop is still really nice with plenty of seating, classy decor, and not too many people crowding. Here are the drinks we got this time: - Yuzu White Grape Jasmine - refreshing as usual! - Mountain Oolong - I got this at 50% sweet this time and honestly wouldn't have minded it being a little sweeter! It was a bit more watery than I remembered, but adding a tad more sweet would probably help with the flavor - Watermelon Yakult and White Grape Mojito - My sister ordered these, I did not try but felt it was worth listing out in case anyone was curious what other drinks they had! read more
On a whim I walked into The Moon Coffee after window shopping after brunch. There was a sign outside that announced Lava Dubai Bomb ( cookie). The place was almost empty, but open layout and clean. I ordered a strawberry Jasmine cloud tea. It was a wonderful choice. There were a handful of pastries in a modest display on the counter. I bought the last Dubai lava bomb as a present for my friends' partner. My drink came quickly. There were coffee options at The Moon Coffee and there a great deal of fruit cloud teas that were vibrant on the menu. I was a happy customer. read more
The ambience is really nice and the employees behind the counter were super attentive and kind. I asked for recommendations and they were super quick to help me choose drinks they thought I would like! The strawberry matcha was okay. It looked good and passed the color test but the matcha flavor was really absent for me. I did really enjoy the strawberry they used though, which was definitely not real. The Taro Cloud was my favorite. The employees encouraged me to try their cloud series and with good reason given how amazing they are. I don't typically love ice blended drinks but the taro flavor came through beautifully and the cloud foam was super delicious. read more

A matcha heaven new at Costa Mesa. We tried four drinks and they were all great! Pink coconut matcha is matcha cream with coconut water Yuzu matcha uses high grade Kyoto matcha power Black sesame latte Banana hojocha latte Shop also offers pastries including freshly made cookies We tried Matcha croissant Ube cruffin has ube cream filling Love the decor and all the Jelly Cats toys. Staffs cleaned tables right after customers left. Plenty tables inside this cozy place. read more
Looks super cool. The cashier seems new, he was not sure about things, he couldn't answer my questions like sweetness level or ice level. And he was not the friendliest, I didn't even see him smile. Great matcha options. They have strawberry matcha, yuzu oat matcha, double matcha, pink coconut matcha. The ambience is chill with comfortable seats. They have a couch like set up. Clean and cool concept. I ordered the strawberry, pistachio matcha with 5% sweetness level. This drink is creamy and delicious. I will come back to try other drinks.
