I had a great experience at QYN Coffee Costa Mesa. The café is clean, beautiful, and has a warm, inviting atmosphere--perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. I also tried my sister in law's Banana Matcha, which was smooth, refreshing, and well-balanced without being too sweet. A highlight of my visit was meeting the owner when she came out to the front to check in on guests and made sure everyone was enjoying their drinks. She's in her thirties, incredibly passionate and talented when it comes to coffee, and such a genuine, kind-hearted person. Went to the grand opening today. I was too late for the freebies, but they were giving out tote bags and reusable travel mugs. I ordered the biscoff latte with 50% sweetness. I'm usually a black coffee or americano guy, but I liked it a lot. The cookie on top was nice to start, and I could really taste the coffee in the drink (a lot of coffee places like this put so much stuff in that you can't taste the coffee). I like that they have hojicha options, in addition to matcha, coco, and coffee. I tried my wife's pistachio hojicha latte and that was really nice. Personally, I would have toned down the sweetness. I'm glad they give the options of 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% sweet. $6.50-7 is a really reasonable price for drinks that are as complex as what you get here. OC showed up !! We tried several drinks but the roasted hazelnut and ube def hit the spot. I love a coffee shop with some pastries, the almond croissant is soo good. Customer service was amazing, mostly with over 100 people in line, drinks came out quickly and everything seemed seamless, def coming back to try other flavors. The store: they have a modern, clean look with indoor seating (yes, there are outlets if you need to work!) and I believe 2 outdoor tables. Ordered: Ube flan coffee - made with phin dripped coffee, the coffee is strong but pairs well with the sweet ube cream top and flan! Popped into QYN after a sweat session at Perspire next door. Saw that they are in their soft opening and thought to give it a try cause I'm a sucker for aesthetic cafes and a yummy bevvy. The inside is calm and serene, appears like a good place to setup your laptop and work and/or catch up with friends in a small group. There was a short line which moved pretty quickly. Got to the counter and ordered an iced matcha latte with an added cream top. It was a customized drink so.. iced matcha latte ($6.50) + soy milk ($0.75) + cream top ($1.25) which made the drink total a whopping $8.50. I get it, a boutique coffee shop is a pretty penny these days.. though the drink just didn't justify $8.50. The team member taking my order barely smiled or said a word. There was truly no wow factor in this experience and with cute coffee shops at every corner these days, it's a tough sell. read more

This cafe has such cute interior decoration and is small and cozy. There are only a few seating areas here and parking can become difficult at peak hours with the other stores in the area. The staff was very kind and helped with recommendations. Was nearby and saw this place was having a soft opening and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! QYN's located in a plaza with a bunch of other businesses so parking can get a little dicey during rush hour, so be wary of that. The staff is friendly and was moving quick considering they're in a soft launch. The interior is super cute and has a bunch of seating. I got the Mango Matcha Latte with oat milk and it was great! LOVE LOVE LOVE the drinks however HATE the parking situation. Came here on a Sunday & right when i turned into the plaza, I already knew parking was going to be an issue. Since I was with my husband & son, they dropped me off and parked across the street - which is a pretty short walk. The double matcha is really good but that spirulina matcha is SO GOOD. The greatest drink ever is here and I highly recommend it: raspberry hojicha latte! I got mine hot since it sounded perfect for the cloudy morning. Really enjoyed Qyn Coffee. The space is beautiful, calm, and intentionally designed without feeling overly trendy. It's the kind of place that works whether you want to sit for a bit or just grab something to go. What stood out to me most was that the drinks felt a little more interesting than usual. I tried the hojicha latte and that was the standout for me -- smooth, balanced, and well made. My friend got the coconut bạc xỉu and was very into it as well. They also have spirulina cold foam drinks, which I honestly haven't seen anywhere else before. Grabbed coffee with friends at this beautiful new Vietnamese coffee shop currently in their soft opening. Such a cute, bright, and clean space, and the staff are so incredibly nice! Everything we tried was delicious, but the strawberry biscoff matcha was my personal favorite. Parking here is definitely the biggest downside. The lot is small, and the side entrance is one-way. If you're coming from Irvine Blvd. and can't find a spot, the traffic flow forces you out onto Main Street, and you'll have to loop back around just to try again. Visited on a Saturday afternoon because we saw that they had Ube FLAN coffee and we were shook so we had to come in and try it! Unfortunately they were sold out of the Ube! So we got other drinks instead. I would say the menu is a bit confusing, because the specialty coffee drinks look limited but theres actually a whole section of coffee in a different column. They actually have such a great selection here of all my favorite coffee cream tops making it so hard to choose! But i went with the Tiramisu Cream Coffee and it was delicious. Everyone who I was with loved their drinks, pandan latte, egg coffee as well as the coconut cloud (beautiful drink by the way pink and blue). The decor was pretty aesthetic and nice especially since everything is brand new. There was a sign at the register stating "staff in training" which I found endearing. The lot seems big, but they share it with a pretty busy bar, and i think the world cup was about to start so it took a while to snag a spot. There MAY be parking in the back, but don't quote me on it. Overall, would definitely come back again when i'm in the area. I need to get my hands on that Ube Flan Coffee! I came during their soft opening in the morning. It wasn't super busy when I came. The music itself sounded like lo-fi study music, and there's multiple outlets along the benches if you needed to charge something. The inside isn't super large, but there's a few tables to sit at. Really liked the natural-looking theme of the furniture and overall vibe. I ordered the ube flan coffee (large) and the spirulina matcha latte. It took ~5 minutes to get the drinks. I wasn't sure what to do with the flan in the middle of my drink, so I broke it apart with the large straw they gave me and stirred. I thought the coffee had a good mix of sweetness and bitterness, though it seemed somewhat...acidic? I'm unsure what beans they are using, but I'm hopeful that they will improve the drinks once they fully open. I'm just happy it was strong and not overly milky. As for the matcha, they nearly filled it to the top. I'm not too sure what flavor the spirulina top is, or what they sprinkled on top (coconut flakes?), but the matcha has a dark green hue and tastes how matcha should taste like. It was not overly sweet and still retained bitterness. I'm really glad I found another place in South OC that makes matcha well. read more

Truly this spot is closer to a 3.5 but with them being in their soft opening I'm rounding up to a 4. Really lovely decor on the inside and the staff was really a pleasure to interact with. I ordered a banana matcha light sweet and unfortunately I was not able to drink it. I took a few sips and firstly there was no discernible matcha flavor and secondly something tasted off to the point that I couldn't take more than 3 sips. Unfortunately I didn't try my drink prior to leaving so I was not able to have the staff address this. Initially I thought it may be the banana flavoring but I also ordered the banana coffee and that was fine, decent strength and a nice banana flavor to it and that I would gladly get again! Also be prepared for not a crazy but a little bit of a wait while they adjust, it took about 15 minutes for my drink with only 2 people ahead of me. So currently I would very much recommend their coffee drinks but not their matcha. read more

I've seen this place on my Instagram for a while now and I was finally in the area and decided that it was time to give it a try! Luckily I went on a day where there was a bogo for coffees. Along with the coffees we also got raspberry matcha and blueberry matcha! The coffees were great! A really nice and nutty viet coffee brew topped off with the cheese foam! 10/10 The blueberry matcha was also really good. I usually get blueberry matcha from other places and this is frankly one of the best ones I've had! This was also my first time trying a raspberry matcha and it's very similar to the blueberry one! I've tried almost every Vietnamese coffee shop in OC. This drink itself is actually very good. The staff are very friendly. The menu feels extensive but not overwhelming. They also have some really great options and unique drinks as well. My issue was that I took a couple sips and it was gone. I would come back here if the drinks lasted longer but I actually left and just went to get a second drink somewhere almost immediately because it was gone in literally like 5 drinks or less. Hate to write this review because the drink was actually super tasty but I can't really justify buying 2 drinks here just because each one is so small.
