roasted hazelnut coffee, egg coffee, Hokkaido ube , banana matcha
    Mhizzle H.

OC showed up !! We tried several drinks but the roasted hazelnut and ube def hit the spot. I love a coffee shop with some pastries, the almond croissant is soo good. Customer service was amazing, mostly with over 100 people in line, drinks came out quickly and everything seemed seamless, def coming back to try other flavors. Banana could be more banana-y maybe with some smash nana chunks? BUT not pictured blueberry matcha oat is so damn good . I could def drink 2 in a sitting.

Parking: they have a lot and if it gets full, you should be able to park across the street (Chase plaza). The store: they have a modern, clean look with indoor seating (yes, there are outlets if you need to work!) and I believe 2 outdoor tables. Qyn coffee offers a creative drink menu and they also have some sweet and savory baked goods available. Ordered: Ube flan coffee - made with phin dripped coffee, the coffee is strong but pairs well with the sweet ube cream top and flan! Vanilla Cloud Hojicha - lightly sweet with a nutty flavor Biscoff Espresso - the boldness of the espresso complements the biscoff and cream top well. Tiramisu Espresso - very similar to the biscoff coffee but with a tiramisu flavor. Raspberry Oat Matcha - I've never heard of a raspberry matcha til now. LIFE CHANGINGGGGG! Pastries: Nutella Croissant, Guava Cheese Danish - both tasty!! I came during soft opening so the staff were still training. They were very nice and kind :) Please visit them if you're around the area!

Popped into QYN after a sweat session at Perspire next door. Saw that they are in their soft opening and thought to give it a try cause I'm a sucker for aesthetic cafes and a yummy bevvy. The inside is calm and serene, appears like a good place to setup your laptop and work and/or catch up with friends in a small group. There was a short line which moved pretty quickly. Got to the counter and ordered an iced matcha latte with an added cream top. It was a customized drink so.. iced matcha latte ($6.50) + soy milk ($0.75) + cream top ($1.25) which made the drink total a whopping $8.50. I get it, a boutique coffee shop is a pretty penny these days.. though the drink just didn't justify $8.50. The team member taking my order barely smiled or said a word. There was truly no wow factor in this experience and with cute coffee shops at every corner these days, it's a tough sell.

Been seeing lots of posts about this place and went during their soft opening phase. Parking can be a little tight depending on time of day. Plenty of options on their menu and love that there's a section for hojicha with so many options since I love hojicha! Got the raspberry oat hojicha and honestly was the best I've ever had! Really nice balance between the raspberry puree and the earthiness of the hojicha. They recently had their grand opening, so definitely coming back to try the other hojicha options!

This cafe has such cute interior decoration and is small and cozy. There are only a few seating areas here and parking can become difficult at peak hours with the other stores in the area. The staff was very kind and helped with recommendations. Ordered the following: - Ube Flan Coffee - Banana Coffee - Pistachio Latte - Spirulina Matcha Latte - Strawberry Biscoff Matcha QYN Coffee has such a large variety of aesthetic and fun drinks with their Vietnamese coffee base if you need something strong or the other creative drinks that are non-coffee. Personally my favorite was the Pistachio Latte and Banana Coffee, if you like something sweeter and more matcha then the Strawberry Biscoff Matcha is a popular choice. Overall, I would like to come back and try their other drinks.

Was nearby and saw this place was having a soft opening and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! QYN's located in a plaza with a bunch of other businesses so parking can get a little dicey during rush hour, so be wary of that. The staff is friendly and was moving quick considering they're in a soft launch. The interior is super cute and has a bunch of seating. I got the Mango Matcha Latte with oat milk and it was great! The matcha was solid and the mango was a great compliment. This place is already off to a great start, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Came this morning and it is just pleasant inside, natural modern decor with orchid arrangements for their opening. The line moved quick and got a tote and cute tumbler. It's a great addition to the area for Ube drinks and more. The corn coffee was so delicious, buttery and smooth and a unique flavor. Can't wait to come back tomorrow!

Another new coffee shop in town. This one has Vietnamese coffee options. I was in a really big rush. Cashier super nice. Got myself a Vietnamese coffee since it is already pre made. It was a bit on the thicker side. But after letting ice melt it was pretty good. Not too sweet. Nice bean flavor. I can't wait to go back and try the other options.

new cafe in costa mesa! great selection of both matcha and coffee i rlly liked all of their cream tops! loved the flavor and paired well with the drinks. i tried: * double matcha * mango matcha * salted cheese coffee * tiramisu espresso lots of seating inside as well

I visited QYN Coffee during its soft opening and was really impressed! The drinks were amazing, and I especially loved the variety of flavored foams. The matcha was excellent as well. I'll definitely stop by again whenever I'm in the area. Highly recommend checking them out!

This place is soooo cute! We came to the soft opening and the baristas were so nice and helpful. We got the egg coffee 75% sweet and biscoff strawberry matcha 50%. They were so good, but I would recommend getting them even less sweet if you're not into sweet drinks. Can't wait to come back!

    Alysa N.

The hype was real! I'm surprised at the fact that I got my drinks under 5 minutes on grand opening day! Place was clean, and sophisticated looking ! Barista was kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. Pastries were delicious and flaky! I tried the hazelnut coffee, egg coffee, matchanana, and ube hojicha. There were all delicious! My favorite was the ube hojicha! Will definitely be back for the ube flan coffee! Parking was a little limited so I parked in the Chase Bank plaza and walked over! The walk was about a minute.

New place on the block alert! Stopped in after my perspire sauna session, said "soft opening" on the door so of course, I had to try! It so trendy and relaxing in here. Minimal tables, some students on their laptops. And an extensive menu of everything matcha!! I got the strawberry matcha biscoff with oat milk $8. Matcha is top notch, can't really taste the biscoff but see the big cookie up top! I like that they have that tiny crushed ice inside (like the ones you get from the cafeteria). Also believe the drinks only come in the large size.

Parking is in a residential, so good luck on those who cant parallel park. The establishment itself is super cute. Very well decorated and love the mix of beach costal vibes with the western look. Lots of merch and treats (high end, notable brands) on the side of the line to look at while you are waiting. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of spots and great for parties of 2-4. Also great it you are going solo like I did. Wait took about 15 minutes to order. Ordered the Guava Matcha and the Desert Glaze coffee drink with regular milk, less sweetness and less milk. Very easy going about the adjustments and were able to cater towards my request. Drinks took about 10ish minutes, quoted 10-15 minutes. Service was pleasant. Drinks were honestly ok. I had high hopes for their matcha cause I have heard and seen such great praises for it, but honestly mediocre at best. The flavor of guava does shine through and jt wasn't too sweet, but the matcha did not really have any matcha flavor or notes. The desert glaze was also just ok. Still a bit more of the milky and creamy side. The espresso was definitely a good quality but even with requesting less milk, I still feel like the milk overtook the whole drink. For taking up about 25-30 minutes to just get some drinks and not even food, I don't think it was worth the wait in line or searching of parking. Personally, glad to have seen and tried the drinks and might come back to try their food and a different drink, but probably won't come back for a while. Not worth my driving all the way out here to try.

This location is not as busy as Buena Park one which is nice and they have plenty of parking in a plaza. Drink came out pretty fast and South is friendly and nice to accommodate my customs. It's been here a while, which as probably helped, and it doesn't fall into that design trap of being overly minimal or whatever. It's warm and inviting, but at the same time, it's not a place I would consistently stay at for my personal taste. I feel like because it's well-established, that's not a problem. They've got plenty of "fun" drinks, which is what they're known for, to me. I often come by for a banana-based drink, whether it be matcha or coffee. I enjoy how they don't take themselves so seriously for a 3rd wave specialty spot. It's easier to get in and get out without having to feel like you're making a decision that you'll be getting judged for, you know? Anyways, the coffee I had was excellent, and it helped me power through my work day. Is there anything else you need?

They offer a few seasonal items and a standard menu of lattes, teas, etc. Today I ordered the morning melt and the coconut latte. The coconut latte is delish and tastes like summer. The morning melt is also really good. So many flavors from the egg, turkey, and arugula. Next time I'll opt for the sauce on the side and put a little less so it's not so drippy. Still super tasty! Thanks for providing a relaxing vibe :)

Despite being relatively close to two major colleges - OCC and UCI - this place wasn't as crowded as you'd imagine it would be. They serve coffee, matcha, breakfast foods like breakfast burritos, protein bowls, avocado toasts - but I didn't pick anything to eat since I already had lunch. I shared with the barista that it was my first time here, and he asked what type of drink I was looking for. I told him something iced and caffeinated - and he mentioned his favorite was the Honey Cinnamon Latte - which I opted for - iced, with oat milk. Total was $8.50 including tip. My iced Honey Cinnamon Latte was yummy, creamy, and fantastic! With the oat milk substitute, it sorta tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch in liquid coffee form. It wasn't overly sweet, definitely had a nice kick to it - love this recommendation by the barista! I checked out the rest of the space and used their restroom to wash my hands - it's really a neat space here. Lots of seating. Lots of space. There's an adjacent room that's connected to the cafe called "Flow Space" - which is utilized for small popups and arts & crafts. Neat spot for smaller community members to showcase their wares. Some of the other reviews mentioned no a/c - which had me worried considering we were having a bit of a heatwave lately - but to my pleasant surprise, A/C was on and cold! It was a great escape from the heat. Free wifi - fast enough for a zoom call if you need to hop into one - my speedtest reported download speeds of 17.5MB/s Restroom is clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking - of course, I stopped by a little after 2pm, so already avoiding the tail end of the lunch rush. Only downside is they close kinda early - 4pm - but open up at 7am. Great spot! Will probably be my go-to considering there's ample workspace, plenty of parking, less crowded than other coffee spots in the immediate area. I'm curious to try their matcha the next time I'm here, as well as possibly their breakfast burritos, since photos for that looks delicious.

The drinks were great and I didn't have to wait on them too long. I got a shakerato and a matcha latte and they were both good. You also get a little discount if you're walking, biking, or boarding to the shop and getting something. The only negative I have to say is that I think a cycling club stages from here on the weekend so the parking lot does get busy inside and out. Overall, I'd recommend this place and will return again.

This year specifically, I've noticed a couple of things that have made my experience go severely downhill. I've visited about five times, expecting to grab my favorite toast of theirs that I've had for years (Pan Con Tomate) and they have been out consistently back to back of that item. I've literally tried 3 separate times and been told they simply ran out of tomatoes. If it's that inconsistent, I'd hope they'd take it off their menu and post it as a special. But what bothers me the most is that the service is so nonchalant that it comes off as rude. No greeting, smile, positive energy.. giving off a vibe that they'd rather be anywhere else than behind the coffee bar. Sad to see the experience decline as it's been a favorite of mine and somewhere i always have hyped up to friends. Hopefully things pick up.
