This place has a very calm and warm energy about it which I really enjoyed while getting some work done on my laptop. There is also something so satisfying about their simplistic furniture that I just love. I ordered a banana cream matcha latte and it was so delicious, I am still thinking about it. My drink was made very quickly and the barista said my name right which is always appreciated! I am definitely looking forward to coming back and trying some more items from their menu!
This is my 2nd time trying this spot and I thought it was just ok both times. The first time I got a matcha latte and thought it was average, so I wanted to give this cafe another try and see how their coffees were. We tried the Madagascar vanilla latte and the einspanner. Both were decent but I wish the coffee had a stronger flavor. I do like how there is a lot of seating, but on the day we were studying there it was very hot and felt like there was no AC.
Very spacious location. Great for anyone who needs to do work/study. The double matcha has a great earthy taste. We went 50% sweet based on the recommendation of the barista since we do not like sweet drinks and it was perfect! Pistachio matcha was 7/10 Personally the flavors don't mesh well but overall wasn't bad.
I stumbled upon Grid Coffee this weekend and was glad I did. Grid is located in the Target plaza off Bristol, tucked into the far side of the plaza, on the opposite side of the lot from the EV Chargers. I liked the industrial vibe of the interior, with a ton of open seating available. The place felt very "no frills", which I didn't mind. Staff was quick and got down to business with serving drinks, which I didn't mind either. I tried a blueberry matcha latte and a blue lavender latte and both were delicious and well made. I also tried their cinnamon roll which was solid too. Overall, this spot is a great coffee option if you're in the area. I definitely will be back whenever I need a drink while I charge my car.
The last time I came here was half a year ago & I noticed the matcha was not as strong or flavorful as I remembered. Since then, their quality has definitely gone downhill :-( The banana matcha lacked flavor while the banana hojicha had barely a hint of hojicha. The cream tops were delicious but required a LOT of mixing for the drinks to taste ok overall. I haven't been here for awhile partly due to the growing crowds & wonky wifi. It's a popular work friendly cafe & their wifi has a limit of how many people can join so there have been a few times where I couldn't connect during work hours. For a Saturday afternoon, it was fairly empty so that tells you everything you need to know. Seating used to be a struggle on weekends... Super unfortunate as I thought things were looking up for them when they upgraded their matcha :') Seems like they switched back to their old powder
Was in the area and saw that a new coffee shop had opened up. The inside is massive with a lot of seating which consisted of small backless stools, some benches and tables. It was very minimalist in design and didn't seem to comfortable. They specialize in match and espresso drinks. I went with a pistachio latte and my friend went with a cookie butter latte. Pistachio latte ($7.75) - I enjoyed the strong and bold taste of the espresso used, it tasted smooth and was rich and aromatic. The pistachio flavoring was good, I wish there was a bit more as the espresso overpowered it a bit. My friend said his cookie butter latte ($7.50) was perfect, and the cashier had mentioned that those are their 2 most popular drinks. Overall we enjoyed our drinks. The seating area could be improved to be more comfortable and inviting. They didn't really have anything to eat except for some waffles which didn't look fresh in the display case.
This cafe is very spacious, offering plenty of seating areas and a beautifully minimalistic design. The overall layout feels thoughtfully created, with subtle details that make the space visually interesting. There is plenty of convenient parking. Ordered the following: Double Pistachio Matcha Latte Double Pistachio Cafe Latte Vanilla Latte Tried the Double Pistachio from their new menu and liked the rich and nutty flavor. The heavy cream on top added a nice touch and worked really well either with the coffee or the matcha. My friend ordered the hot Vanilla Latte and liked it as well. Overall, I would like to come back and try other items on their menu!
They have extensive matcha menu. I love the interior design. It has many spots to sit and work. Wifi is fast and there are outlets. Ordered matcha coconut. The matcha cream is creamy and sweet and coconut water is refreshed. Service is good and minimal. Got my order within less than 1 minutes wow. I love that there is mango matcha and pistachio. Definitely want to try it next time.
Been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm so glad I finally did. It's pretty big and has lots of seating. Seems like a good study spot since I saw a good amount of people working and the music isn't too loud. There are also plenty of food spots in the same plaza if you wanted to grab a meal with your drink Banana caffe latte: 5/5 this is def one of my fav banana lattes that I've ever had bc it didn't have that artificial banana flavor. Would def recommend!! My boyfriend got the double matcha which he liked but it was a littlee too sweet for his preference
I stopped by on a Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the cafe felt. The shop was busy, but there was still plenty of seating available for studying, working, or catching up with friends. There's also a restroom on-site and ample parking in the plaza, which is always a plus! The space itself is beautiful, modern and contemporary with subtle wabi-sabi touches with pop of colors. The baristas were friendly, and I appreciated the variety of matcha offerings on the menu. I ordered the Double Pistachio Matcha, which was incredibly creamy and had a rich, authentic pistachio flavor. While I enjoyed the nuttiness, the cream was a bit too heavy for my personal preference so I couldn't taste the matcha as much. I also tried my friend's Einspänner, which was absolutely delicious and something I'd definitely come back for. Another friend ordered the Hojicha Latte, and it had a perfect balance of roasted tea flavor and sweetness. My only downside was that it was quite warm inside during our May visit. The AC didn't seem to be running, which made it uncomfortable to stay for an extended study session or hangout. Hopefully that's something they address as Orange County approaches the hotter summer months. Overall, I'm excited to return and work my way through more of their drink menu. The atmosphere, drinks, and friendly service made for a great first visit.
Loving the Double Pistachio Latte series! Picture rich pistachio paste at the bottom, smooth coffee or grassy matcha in the middle, and then a creamy pistachio foam on top, finished with a line of crushed pistachios for extra texture. Every sip hits a little different depending on how you mix it, and it stays balanced the whole time. Nutty, creamy, sweet, and ultra satisfying. Between the two, I like the coffee version more, but you really can't go wrong with either! The ambiance here is just as good as the drinks. It's super spacious with lots of seating, and has an edgy, industrial aesthetic. This is a solid spot to catch up with friends or to just sit and sip. Also shoutout to the cashiers and baristas for being super friendly and relaxed. Definitely one of my regular stops now :)
stopped by with my friends before our flight, the cafe is pretty spacious with lots of seating. i got the double matcha latte which was absolutely delicious! i'm a matcha enthusiast & it was nice and strong, i ordered it 50% sweet which was perfect for me. it was creamy and the matcha flavor really shines. one of my friends got a croffle & it was also fantastic with a light glaze. i would definitely recommend!!
Love the coffee! I don't like the taste of coffee and this latte masked that so well! Bold flavor and the pistachio and matcha blend was perfect. The almond croissant was also very delicious and the cream inside luscious. Service was quick and the ambiance is chill.
For a college study session or getting some homework done, this place is perfect! It's spacious, and the ambiance is upbeat and welcoming. Definitely a place where you can sit down and get some work done. The service was amazing, and the staff were so friendly! The coffee was delicious. I got the Einspänner Latte, and it was so good! Definitely a great spot to study, catch up on work, or just enjoy a good cup of coffee! read more

I wouldn't say I'm a hard person to please when it comes to cafés but I do think a 4/5 is an accurate rating. Drinks (4/5): - There was a standard selection of drinks and I decided to get the double matcha. It was not bad by any means. However, I did feel that it was a bit sweeter than how I typically like it with what tasted like hints vanilla (possibly the cream?). - I later checked some reviews and saw that sweetness is something other's have noted. Interior (4/5): - There is a lot of space which is great! There are many small coffee tables to sit and chat, a plethora of larger 1/2 seater tables to do work at, and a large cross shaped table in the center which can definitely seat a lot of people. - This space would have honestly been at the top of my list in terms of interior if not for one thing: the temperature. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't sweating buckets or anything but it was a ~90 degree day outside and I feel like I expected it to be a little cooler inside than what it was. Service (4/5): - Standard service overall, staff was respectful and nice. The only thing I have in mind to note was a mild lack of urgency by the baristas to attend to customers. - I ended up sitting closer to the register and over time I noticed that most customers would wait a bit of time before being helped. - It doesn't seem like they have the largest team (2-3 people) so I understand if it's busier, but by my observation it was never busy enough to have people be waiting to give their order. At the end of the day solid cafe overall though. Would still come again to try different drinks with the staff's opinion on sweetness, but maybe not to do a lot of work on a hot day . read more
So spacious, both inside and outside. They have an extensive menu for both coffee and matcha options. I love the decor on the inside. I got a banana matcha and it honestly tastes like banana bread in a matcha form. I'd give it a 7/10, personally, was a bit too sweet for me. The other thing is that by the end of my time there (was there to do some work) it got hot at the end... barely felt any ac in there as the day went on. read more

Interesting decor to say the least. It is not warm and friendly, but quite the opposite lol. I guess it works with the branding... but the girl who took our orders definitely was also just "there", customer service needs some work. Better coffee to grab and go. I ordered the Einspanner Americano and my friends had the Blueberry caffe latte, and a Hojicha latte. I was eyeing the blueberry and strawberry latte's myself but didn't know what the espresso was like. After trying my friend's drink, I thought the coffee flavor was pretty light bodied with fruity notes, so it worked well! Einspanner cold foam was thick and rich, but complimented the cold brew roast. Perfectly balanced drink for me that day :) read more
Amazing!! Grid Coffee is super spacious with a ton of seating for studying. It has a very simplistic atmosphere that fits the whole experience. Drinks were all super unique and delicious. The lavender matcha was very unique but worth a try. It's floral but infused with matcha that made it a different experience. Still super tasty! Double Matcha? Count me in I love a thiccccck matcha foam on top of my matcha and this place hits for this area. This is my go to place when I am in the area. It hits and I drink this up so fast! I also got their croffle and I was actually impressed on how good it was. Maybe cause I was one of the first few that came when they placed it out on display so it was fresh fresh. Been to this place a few times and the drinks were spot on every single time. This place has an industrial, modern vibe with chill, ambient music. My favorite drinks here are the matcha coconut water and strawberry matcha. I've tried some of the coffee from my husband as well and they were delightful (good coffee intensity/flavor, not too diluted). It's a chill space for a hangout or do some work. My new go-to coffee spot when I'm around South Coast! I also love to come by sometimes when I feel like working at a cafe. There are so many good cafes in South OC but this is in my top 5 overall. Seating is great - there's plenty of it, it's comfy, and they have power strips so you can plug in to charge your devices. Drinks altered my brain chemistry. Such great quality and I love that they offer unique flavors. My go-to is the blue lavender latte. But I also love the einspanner and Spanish lattes, as well as other seasonal flavors. They also have breakfast pastries - not a ton of options but they're all DELICIOUS. The waffles and cinnamon rolls are to die for. What else could one possibly need? Staff isn't always super nice, but they're not unpleasant either- just meh they don't talk much or go out of their way to be welcoming. Shouldn't need to deal with any issues because they're usually on top of things. Love it! Will be back often! read more
Was looking for cafes in the area and stumbled upon this place! I tried their Double Matcha Latte, and it was really good! The cream top had great strong matcha flavor and their matcha latte was tasty too. Not sure if it was just me, but their matcha had some fruitiness to it which was different but I did still enjoy it overall. They have a huge space with lots of tables for hanging out with friends, studying, etc. The service was quick and our drinks came out fast. Would recommend if in the area! read more
Great place for casual coffee and a great option for studying in OC. The tables are really spacious, the wifi is fairly great here, plenty of charging outlets at most tables. The drinks here is pretty standard its nothing out of the ordinary. 7-8 dollar matcha 5-7 coffee and some pastries that are good. The service has always been friendly its all college students working here. Definitely worth checking out if you want a nice casual place to study and hang and take photos. read more
Loved my experience here! The drinks are amazing, 12/10 matcha. I'm really picky with my matcha and the earthy flavor, sweetness, and creaminess all came through with their drinks. The service was quick and the baristas were super helpful and nice. It was quiet and calm around the end of the day. Lots of seating, and seems like a good place to go and study. read more
Tried Grid Coffee and overall it was a good experience. I ordered the hojicha but had to ask for an adjustment because it was a little too sweet and the tea flavor got lost. Once they tweaked it, it was better, but I'd probably ask for less sweet next time from the start. The matcha cloud was really good--super smooth and balanced. My friend got the strawberry matcha and that one was perfect. Cute spot and solid drinks overall, I'd just customize the sweetness next time. read more
Recently was recommended to visit this establishment and came back the following day. Sentiment should describe on how good their coffees are. Upon walking in, you'll notice this giant industrial space like environment to hang out and study while enjoying their brews. Staff were super friendly and engaging with recommendations. I noticed the care that they put into crafting the drinks and it speaks volume with their dedication. If you are looking for a place to study and relax, mainly good coffee, this is your jam. This place has a very open space layout with a good amount of seating. Some of the seats are better for catching up with friends than studying though. The minimalist aesthetic reminded me a lot of Stagger in LA. I got a vanilla cafe latte with oat milk and it was good (3.5/5), but my friend mentioned her matcha could be stronger. They don't have your name on the drinks so you do have to pay attention when they call you. read more

The cookie butter latte was super tasty but it's definitely more of a sweet treat than a coffee. I enjoyed it though especially the cookie crumbles and the cold foam. The matcha is okay but nothing to write home about. I liked the blueberry matcha and I also tried the double matcha, I wish they put more of the cream top on the matcha read more

Great spot for drinks in a cool spacious spot! I got their blueberry matcha latte for the 2nd time, which did not disappoint. I love how their blueberry purée tastes natural and less artificial than other spots, and love how you can feel the actual blueberry chunks in the purée. This makes the blueberry matcha very pleasant and works very well with the matcha without overwhelming the drink with artificial flavors. The interior has almost a mini art gallery vibe in certain spots. Love the spacious area with multiple tables and the free parking in the lot! read more

The interior has a very clean aesthetic, and while I wasn't sure it would be my kind of place at first, I was pleasantly surprised. The strawberry matcha with cold foam is hands down the best strawberry matcha I've had so far. Perfectly balanced, smooth, and not too sweet. Easily at the top of my list. We also ordered the strawberry coffee latte and WOW. Strong, fresh espresso paired with cold foam that's way better than Starbucks'--super creamy and flavorful. Food - almond croissant (delicious but ask for it warmed up) and waffle - pretty good. This will definitely be my new go-to spot, especially since it's right down the street from me. Highly recommend checking it out! read more
Super good matcha! Another cafe that sells matcha but this place has double matcha! I ordered their medium iced double matcha ($7) and their medium iced blue lavender caffe latte ($7.25). The double matcha was thick, sweet, and delicious. I highly recommend. My friend said there's lots of caffeine but since I drink energy drink daily, I don't feel any effects. Blue lavender was good/okay. The blue lavender is floral flavor and sweet, and combines with bitter coffee. It balances the sweetness with a hint of floral flavor. Interior is super spacious. Saw many young people inside, sitting down on their computer. For parking, there's a big lot in front of the stores that shares with many other businesses. Parking may be difficult at times. Would definitely come back for the double matcha and maybe try another coffee based drink. read more
I'm surprised I only heard of this place recently, but they have a variety of coffee and matcha drinks, the inside is spacious with lots of tables/seating, and plenty of parking! 'Double Matcha Latte': the cream top was indeed very creamy and thick, it balanced well with the matcha latte. 'Cookie Butter Matcha': definitely more of a dessert drink! The Biscoff/Cookie Butter flavor was very yummy, but it did kinda overpowered the matcha. Matcha/Coffee shop worth checking out in OC! read more
Grid Coffee is in the same plaza as Target with easy parking. The interior is modern and spacious with group and individual seating. Outlets are available for use. The black and white is a nice change from the commonly used brown wood theme. Their station was kept very clean and orders came out quickly. My double matcha was fairly strong with a vibrant green color. While the flavor is mellower and lacks the astringent note that I like, you can tell they use quality matcha. The vanilla syrup was pleasantly subtle and did not overpower the drink at all, at 50% sweet. $7 for a 16oz medium is a reasonable price; they didn't pack the cup with ice. Their chocolate brownie was soft with a moderately dense texture. Not overly sweet and salt flakes were a nice touch. Overall, it's place to get some work done, or just to chat. If you like a more mild matcha, you'd like it here. read more
Grid might genuinely be my favorite matcha spot to go to now, especially for their Blueberry Matcha Latte. Out of everywhere I've tried, Grid by far has the best one I've ever had! I've also tried their Hojicha Latte and Coconut Matcha, and all are great! I just especially love their Blueberry Matcha Latte! I love the decor and atmosphere as well, it's an extremely nice place to go to for studying, and I like the music selection that the workers have playing. Whether you're looking for a nice place to stop by to study, take a picture and get a drink, or just get a to go, I'd highly recommend Grid Coffee! read more
