It's typically not too busy as I feel like not many people go to the Collage or South Coast Plaza when looking for boba. Drinks don't take too long to be made so waiting isn't a big issue usually. I typically try different drinks whenever I come, from their matcha lattes to newer drinks like their lychee rice. The drinks are pretty standard, which is nice since South Coast Plaza is a big mall so having the option to come here for a drink is great. They're good and all flavor wise, but I'm not exactly going out of my way to get Cha Redefine unless I'm in the mall. The sizes are also a bit small which I'm not too fond of. However, I'm pretty basic so a tea with milk foam is my typical, classic go-to beverage. Ordering process was pretty quick. They ask for size and you get options to customize your drink with toppings, sweetness and ice. I decided to go with an Osmanthus Oolong with Vanilla Cream Foam Cha with sugar adjusted to 25%. For the cream foam topping, you get 5 options to choose from: vanilla, matcha, coffee, avocado, and black sesame. Even at 25%, it was more sweet than I had anticipated, but the foam was likely sweetened as well, so it may have impacted the overall drink. I love this boba place!!! It's located right in South Coast Plaza, inside Burlington's. After stopping by the other shops, I love walking in with a purpose; to get my boba fix. The honey roasted pecans just pair so nicely with the warm boba at the bottom. I've heard their avocado drinks or mango drinks are too bad either. Yet, I can't help but get their boba drinks. It's creamy, nutty, and sweet with the honey. I love nibbling on the crunchy bits of the pecans too. It's pretty inside and the boba shop lights the place up. If you're trying to get here, walk from inside on the bottom floor and go straight towards the back! I would say to beware of crowds! I have yet to see it without a line. We stopped by Cha Redefined at South Coast Plaza right before closing. Their posted closing time was 8:00 PM, and we arrived at the counter ready to order at 7:59 PM. Unfortunately, the staff refused to take our order and told us they were already closed. I completely understand that employees want to finish cleaning and leave on time, and I always try to be respectful of that. But if a business advertises that they close at 8:00 PM, customers reasonably expect to still be able to place an order before 8. Even a simple "we can only do a limited menu right now" would have felt more accommodating. What made the experience disappointing was not just being turned away, but the feeling that we were unwelcome despite technically arriving before closing time.
