I was served by the most genuine people, "Tom and Sue". What makes this place SPECIAL? It really is a GO-To NOW spot and I would try their Taro Milk Tea to start; it is actual fresh taro and you taste the ground Taro which is absolutely fresh, tasty and unbelievably delicious!!! If the Taro Milk your looking for is more of a drink, this has more of a creamy base because it is actual ground taro root. Upon tasting it I was like, "mmmmmmmm!" No kidding it is not powder based but fresh!!!! Next, they also have Mango Green Tea and it too is tasty, clean and fresh. They accommodate to your personal taste whether on sweetness, ice preference, toppings and milk base. We got their Mango Machiatto with Mango popping pearls and no cheese foam (we're lactose intolerant). Food wise, you have got to try their Popcorn Chicken! It is so deliciously tasty and crisp, there's no way you will not get addicted. I drive to Dos Lagos near Corona, just to find this kind of crispy and tasty Popcorn Chicken, it is the Best Popcorn Chicken in OC. They are open late weekdays until 9pm. I came almost 9pm and they made me 3 popcorn chickens and 2 milk teas and that would have passed their closing time, but they were so kind as I told them my daughter just got out of ballet 8:30pm. All I wanted was Yomies but there isn't one around. No worries. A quick Yelp search brought me here for a rice and Japanese yogurt drink. It's a little different than Beijing yogurt but still good. I came in through I guess what was the back door, and the lady making my drink rushed over to let me in since she forgot to unlock it. She apologized several times. But I could see inside that she was making my drink that I ordered online in advance. Within a few minutes of arriving, I was able to walk out to the front door with my drink. The place is well decorated, and well lit. Since I showed up about 30 minutes, after opening, there wasn't a crazy wait, or anything. I was told that to order, you can order through the kiosk. Seems to have 1 lady/owner working. Came here 3 times and it is always the same lady. She is really nice. I've tried a different drink each time. Each drink was okay. Although I didnt really like their signature milk tea. It tastes like chocolate milk to me and its wierd since I got strawberry popping boba in it too. I believe the customer who ordered ahead of me had some chocolate in their drink so makes me think they recycled the blender to make my drink instead of washing it first or using a new one. read more

You can stop reading here :D All jokes aside, the dessert-esque drinks here at Gotcha Tea give some of the most renowned boba spots in OC a run for their money (Omomo, I'm looking at you). We ordered the Purple Rice Yogurt and Mango Yogurt (whichever one comes with mango bits) for just under $6 each. If you haven't had purple rice before, which is typically eaten with coconut milk as a dessert, the taste can best be described as sweeter and firmer rice with a sort of nutty/fruity flavor. Here, it's in a more drinkable form and is absolutely delicious - this would be the drink I'd recommend if I had to choose one. The mango yogurt was also great - there were a few comments suggesting they might use powder but to be honest mine didn't taste like it. Real mango at the bottom combined with the yogurt flavor made it even better. We were helped by the sweetest lady who was unfortunately working alone, but the drink quality definitely excused the 20 minute wait. Interior is clean and cute, with enough seating to accomodate an ample amount of customers at a boba shop. I will be coming here much more often to get my sweet fix! read more

We were on the hunt for a good boba spot and came across Gotcha Tea. At first, we were a little hesitant since the Apple Maps photos only showed the outside, which looked a bit plain--but wow, were we pleasantly surprised when we arrived! The inside is absolutely adorable and super inviting. We ordered the Sunset Tea Boba with aloe and the Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea. There were so many drink options and toppings to choose from--it was honestly hard to decide! When we got our drinks, we couldn't get over how cute they looked. No one was around since I came at 3 in the afternoon on a Tuesday, but the layout is very cute with pink plush chairs and a toy claw machine. Digital menu screens and ordering kiosks make the process smooth, which is helpful since the store has minimal space to walk/queue. Had a signature milk tea (50% sweet, less ice, boba) and it came out to about $6 including tax. Taste was nearly perfect - could have been less sweet, but decent tea flavor! Boba was sweet and texture was good. Plus it was only 50 cents which is getting more and more rare. What really made me feel like writing a review though was the service! Okay I think l I've ordered enough times to finally do review :) I am happy to announce that this has become my new favorite milk tea spot!!! I've ordered 5 times, having the bamboo charcoal drink in each order every single time and this place always, always does the job right!!! The taste, the consistency, the quality- all perfection! I have tried the bamboo charcoal drink from 100% sweet to 50% sweet and it was delicious each and every way. I would say since it's already delicious at 50% i will continue to order it at 50% sweet or maybe even try less just for my own health but taste-wise you won't have a problem! I love that they have Uji matcha and the quality is superb! I am honestly surprised at how good these drinks are because I am extremely picky with my milk tea! I still have yet to try the actual boba (I only order boba in my drinks when I truly crave it lol) but I've tried the egg pudding and sea salt foam and it's just as good! Also need to mention that about 3/5 times I've had this place it was through door dash and it was amazing so that's how good it was! I also like to order easy ice just to be on the safe side of it being watered down. I came by here for the first time with a friend the other day after having Gotcha bookmarked for a while. The owners were super helpful and kind with several questions we had in regards to their teas and drinks. Service was fast and our drinks came out relatively quick! After looking over their menu, I chose to get their strawberry fruit milk tea and my friend got their signature milk tea. One thing I did want to note is that when ordering via their big screen tablet, they only had 1 drink size available which was large that adds an extra 50 cents to the price so do keep in mind to add an extra 50 cents to your drink total when you order! My strawberry fruit milk was delicious and I loved how strong of a strawberry flavor there was. It was rich and creamy and it had strawberry fruit/puree inside mixed in with the tea which I loved. My friend enjoyed his signature milk tea as well and said he would order it again. One tip, they are sort of tucked within the building when you drive in so you might miss them when you go for the first time. Overall, the drinks and service were great and I am looking forward to returning to try more of their specialty drinks! read more
