This place has quickly become one of my favorite coffee and matcha spots. I've tried several different lattes and matchas here but I have to say that my favorite drink is the classic einspanner. Apart from the delectable drinks, the customer service is top tier. We are always welcomed with a smile and were even told on one visit in particular, "enjoy our time here." Often times, coffee shops make you feel like an uninvited guest. In a world that seems to be rushing around on tight schedules, this coffee shop is a nice and refreshing departure. Before ordering, I did ask the staff on their recommendation from the menu. It was odd that they didn't recommend the orange series item but I decided to get it anyways. The order took a few minutes before it was ready. Once I got to try it, the drink didn't meet my expectations. The orange creamtop tastes like an artificial flavor and just did not go well with the espresso. Additionally, I saw they were selling coffee beans, so I grabbed a bag as well. I should have double checked the roasted date; it was 3 months prior to the purchase date. Overall, it was a decent spot for talking and getting work done. What an actual treat Dex coffee is. I must say that they're different combinations like orange cream top and Asian pear is something that drew me to their location to begin with. I almost chickened out and got my typical coffee order, but I thought to myself one in Rome. I landed on the orange einspinner. Not only isn't it gorgeous coffee drink, but it's something that you don't typically have often, with a fresh orange notes that perfectly pair with a strong espresso beans it's an actual delight. It's almost like a grown-up 50-50 bar. I will definitely say dex location, atmosphere, and super friendly staff has made the experience above and beyond. Pulled up at 10:30am. It was our first time here and the team introduced us to their menu and provided great suggestions!! The matcha pear and orange matcha are the standouts! Coconut matcha with matcha cream on the top is delicious here. This place is one that gives the most coconut water in the cup I have had so far in OC. I have tried many places. I can't wait to try pear matcha in the future. I had very hard time choosing between this and coconut. They said coconut was less sweet. It was delicious. Creamy matcha has good balance of matcha bitterness and sweetness. The coconut juice adds extra hydration. For $6.80, it was good deal. Finally got a chance to check this place out since it's nearby. There was a bunch of people just studying and relaxing which was pretty cool. Luckily there was no line on a Saturday afternoon. I got the Dex matcha delight with oat milk and less ice. I like how strong the matcha drink is, but you can still taste some of the cinnamon. For the price of the drink it's a bit sad how much you get. It makes me wonder how much ice they use by default and how that could really dilute the drink. I also got the vanilla latte which was pretty good and strong. Same story with the amount you get. I posted some photos as a reference after just taking a sip to try both drinks. Staff was nice and the interior was clean. Parking is spacious and was not much of an issue. Overall, this is place is about a 3.5 star for me. I've been to a bunch of other coffee shops with a similar flavor profile and quality, but at a better price point. Upon entering Dex Coffee I knew this place wouldn't disappoint! The interior has this warming home vibe to it, the wooden slats on the walls give a Japandi look to it. There was people studying and on their laptops which is always a good sign, it was relaxing to be in there. Hands down one of the best coffee places I have been to. Not only are staff very nice, they also know exactly what is on their menu. I hope that they will expand and open closer to where I live. The vibe, the atmosphere is amazing, no wonder all the seats were taken. Everyone that walked in seems like they were regulars by the way the staff interacted with them. The matcha here is the absolute MUST. After tasting how amazing it was the manager told me they put a TON of matcha compared to any other competitors. It really stands out! I was also fortunate to also try their Maple Coffee, and just as I thought it would be, the coffee was rich and strong, not too sweet, perfect for a hot day. I'm loving how every visit keeps topping the last! It's probably because the orange cream just keeps getting better and better! My current obsession is the Orange Hojicha Einspanner. The orange flavor is so bold and vibrant that it almost steals the spotlight from the hojicha. (Not mad about it at all hehe.) The hojicha itself is smooth, cozy, and perfectly toasty, making the combo super satisfying. The cup sizes run a bit smaller than average, but the quality more than makes up for it. Oh my goodness! I cannot say enough about how delicious the orange matcha latte I had is; I asked the barista for his favorite and he mentioned this drink so I had to try it. I'm so glad I stopped by this coffee shop to check it out. The shop is located inside a busy plaza, since there's Crunch gym nearby. So, parking can be kind of tricky to find. The workers immediately greeted you when you first enter. Also, they were willing to answer questions I had about their coffee. The atmosphere of the store looked pretty cozy and inviting. However since my friend and I had our dogs with us, we didn't sit inside. There are outside chairs if you don't want to sit inside. I ordered a iced einspanner orange latte. But if you do like orange, I definitely recommend giving it a try. I wanted to try the orange americano next time, but since it was later in the day I opted for matcha instead. The classic einspanner was nice, creamy, and smooth. Nothing surprising, just a solid and well-made classic einspanner. The only downside for me was the price. Dex also offers a small glass case of solid pastries, plus a fridge stocked with sandwiches and drinks, simple but clutch. THE TOASTED CARAMEL LATTE was almost perfect. In my opinion, it just needed a little more syrup and espresso. It drank a bit light and the balance was slightly off. That said, the house-made toasted caramel syrup (made with organic ingredients) was excellent, and I know because I tried a side sample. 4.5/5 ORANGE MATCHA EINSPANNER was beautifully balanced, Uji ceremonial matcha, fresh orange, and a cloud of cream... oh, that cream. The use of high-grade matcha really adds that extra edge to the drink... rich, smooth, and clean.
