Me and my husband have become regulars here ever since we found out about a boba place closer to where I work. There's something about the Japanese Brown Rice Tea w/ Salted Milk Foam and Coconut Slush with Grass Jelly that keeps us coming back for more. I've tried the milk tea version of the Japanese Brown Rice Tea but I definitely prefer the fresh tea version of it. I've even tried it at different sweetness levels and all of them taste so good! For me, nothing tops the brown rice tea even though I have tried their other fresh teas available. My husband loves how well blended his coconut slush is and that it never has ice chunks. His drink is on the sweeter side but the pairing of the coconut with grass jelly is a nostalgic flavor profile he really enjoys from here. We also tried the Cinnamon Cream Croffle today. Unfortunately we ate it so fast that I forgot to take a picture. It was my first time having a croffle and it tasted amazing! Loved the cream that was used with it and it was just the right sweetness for us. Overall, Bobapop is such a cute small boba café with frenchies as their mascot. They have fun little trinkets such as pins and keychains near the entrance that they sell as well. The owner, Halia, is very nice and always greets us warmly and with a smile. It's gotten to the point where I believe she memorized our go to order for our fave drinks lol. Their drinks have been very consistent and we're glad to be regulars there. Stopped by Boba Pop Tea Bar and ordered the Brown Sugar Latte with boba (medium, normal ice, 70% sweetness). The drink was okay, but still sweeter than I expected even at 70% sweetness. I honestly can't imagine how sweet it would be at 100%. The boba was a little too chewy for my preference, and I've definitely had better elsewhere. The drink was reasonably priced at $5.75, so it didn't feel overpriced. One thing I appreciated was that there is parking behind the building near the back entrance, which made it easy to get in and out. They also have a few small two-person tables inside. I was able to grab a seat, enjoy my milk tea, and spend some time reading my book while I was there. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't memorable enough for me to come back. Really cute shop with adorable keychains, stationary, and drink-ware for sale. I love all the Frenchie decor so much! As a pug mom myself, I couldn't help but smile at all the adorable ways Frenchies were incorporated within the shop's atmosphere. The service was really incredible. The two bobaristas were exceptionally kind and welcoming. They were quick with making my drink and even filled up my Stanley tumbler with water. I ordered the "Salted Vietnamese Coffee" and am so happy I did. The actual drink itself is one of the most delicious, creamy, flavorful Vietnamese coffees I've ever had. I highly recommend trying this drink out if you're on a hunt for a good Vietnamese coffee in the Costa Mesa and Newport area. Parking lot is located behind the shop. Bobapop Tea Bar is a nifty little boba shop that's located on Harbor and 19th St in Costa Mesa with a lively pop vibe that have French Bulldogs as their mascot and art decor. My girlfriend and I aren't usually around this area and we just finished having dinner and this place was nearby so why not give it a shot! FOOD Japanese Brown Rice Milk Tea This was my girlfriend's drink but I had a sip and it's not bad! Definitely a different take on milk tea but I would say why not give it a try if you're deciding on it! Brown Sugar Latte I'm a sucker for brown sugar but yes I did enjoy this drink and wouldn't mind ordering it again! I believe it's a crowd-favorite as well! Matcha Cream Croffle First off. Croffle = Croissant + Waffle. It's an interesting fusion that I don't think I've ever seen around but we had the Matcha Cream Croffle and wow that was pretty darn good! We had it for to-go so it wasn't as fresh but I can imagine how it would taste if you were to eat it there! Highly recommend trying it out if you're thinking about hanging out in the shop! OVERALL Not a bad find! Our visit was on a whim and I actually enjoyed our drinks and croffle. The only thing I could say that can improve is the boba, it seemed that it wasn't as fresh. Cute little boba shop my boyfriend found on Yelp as we were in the area. The gps directed us to the back side of the building, which is where the parking is. If you are traveling on food you an enter in the front, which is facing the Main Street. They have a variety of drinks to choose from. We ordered thru the self ordering kiosk. Everything is there. I like how it gives you the option for size of drink, ice level, sweetness level and topping you want. I ordered the jasmine brown rice milk tea with boba and my boyfriend got the Vietnamese coffee with coffee jelly. I do wish there was an option to control your toppings (example: easy boba, regular boba, extra boba) Because when I got my drink it was full of boba (not a bad thing for someone who likes a lot of boba in their drink). And when my bf ordered his Vietnamese coffee, it didn't specify the size. He really liked his drink because of the strong coffee taste. I tasted it and it was very coffee forward. Bobapop is such a cute little boba spot with an extensive menu, and everything I've tried has been delicious. My go-to drink is the coconut slush with grass jelly--so good. I did branch out and try the croissant waffle, which wasn't for me. While it's a fun and unique concept, I found it a bit dry and lacking flavor aside from the drizzle of honey or syrup on top. It's located across from the Triangle, so it can get busy depending on the time of day. Parking is a bit limited and tucked in the back, but aside from that, I'd absolutely recommend Bobapop. read more

My favorite boba shop in the OC! They have so many different flavors, but my favorite is the Brown Sugar Boba and the Taro Milk Tea. The Brown Sugar is always my go to, but I recently tasted the Taro one and it's now one of my faves. It tastes like fruity pebbles. The boba is also chewy, sweet and not too hard. The service is always great when you go. The workers are friendly, but they also have a self-order kiosk. It's always empty when I go, so it's pretty quiet and there's a lot of tables to sit at. The decoration is also soooo cute (such cute dogs) and they also have stickers/keychains on sale. I've never had a problem with parking too behind the building. read more

A very cute little spot in the area. More of a pick-up your drink type of vibe since the seating area is on the tinier side if you're going with a group but there's a couple tables and chairs!!! When I walked in, the employee came right to the cashier to take my order, but I saw the self order tablet and sheepishly told her I was going to order there since I wasn't too sure what to get yet. I still really appreciated that she actually wanted to take my order cause I'm use to most employees waiting for the customer to ask to order in person before walking up to the register. I had ordered the brown sugar boba milk latte?and the signature milk tea with boba. They only had enough boba for one drink, so the brown sugar would get it since it requires the boba for the drink. She told me it would take 7 minutes for the next boba batch to be ready which I was more than happy to wait for. I really enjoyed my drinks, but what I enjoyed more was the fresh boba! The fresh boba was soft and chewy and so warm and sweet. The last batch of boba wasn't bad, but it wasn't the same as the new batch which is to be expected honestly. I'm also wondering if it just tasted differently because the drinks were also different. Regardless, I still was happy with both drinks and very happy with how kind and hard working the employees are here. As I was sitting it felt very comforting and calm inside. Cute boba spot in Costa Mesa! They have good variety of drinks and the slush drinks were def great on a hot day! I really liked the taro slush with egg pudding which was not too sweet and very creamy. The lychee slush was very refreshing as well. This location is definitely on the smaller end, and I will say it does have limited seating and space available. Alongside that, parking can get limited as well so keep that in mind for your next visit! The drinks are all worth it though! The taro milk tea was smooth with almost a fresh taro aftertaste. Super small boba shop off of W 19th St coming from the ever-busy 55 Freeway/Newport Blvd. It looked like there was very minimal parking available in the shared lot behind the building, but we just walked over from where we got lunch a couple of blocks away. I think this Bobapop only recently opened, and it was evident from how quickly the two workers were doing everything. However, they were patient when taking our orders. They also graciously accomodated my request to correct one of my drinks, which was supposed to be full-sweet Flower Green Milk Tea that tasted unsweetened. After I got my fixed-up drink, I was happy with how satisfying the lightness of the green tea with creamer was on a hot day. My other drink was a Sea Salt Vietnamese Coffee, and I was slightly disappointed in this one. Main reason why was because the sea salt topping was too salty and overpowered the coffee, which surprisingly wasn't that sweet for a Viet coffee. After swirling the creamy sea salt foam into the drink, it still tasted a bit too "cheesy," so I added some whole milk at home to offset the tartness. About three tiny tables and one bench were available for indoor seating, with no visible outdoor seating. Due to this location's limited seating and compact size, it didn't really feel welcoming for studying, working, or hanging out. It seemed more like a grab-and-go place. I'll give them credit for running the shop with great effort during their first few months of opening, but I believe the consistency of flavors and drink-making could be improved. read more
