Bobapop is such a cute little boba spot with an extensive menu, and everything I've tried has been delicious. My go-to drink is the coconut slush with grass jelly--so good. I did branch out and try the croissant waffle, which wasn't for me. While it's a fun and unique concept, I found it a bit dry and lacking flavor aside from the drizzle of honey or syrup on top. It's located across from the Triangle, so it can get busy depending on the time of day. My favorite boba shop in the OC! They have so many different flavors, but my favorite is the Brown Sugar Boba and the Taro Milk Tea. The Brown Sugar is always my go to, but I recently tasted the Taro one and it's now one of my faves. It tastes like fruity pebbles. The boba is also chewy, sweet and not too hard. The service is always great when you go. The workers are friendly, but they also have a self-order kiosk. It's always empty when I go, so it's pretty quiet and there's a lot of tables to sit at. I had ordered the brown sugar boba milk latte?and the signature milk tea with boba. They only had enough boba for one drink, so the brown sugar would get it since it requires the boba for the drink. She told me it would take 7 minutes for the next boba batch to be ready which I was more than happy to wait for. I really enjoyed my drinks, but what I enjoyed more was the fresh boba! The fresh boba was soft and chewy and so warm and sweet. The last batch of boba wasn't bad, but it wasn't the same as the new batch which is to be expected honestly. I'm also wondering if it just tasted differently because the drinks were also different. Regardless, I still was happy with both drinks and very happy with how kind and hard working the employees are here. As I was sitting it felt very comforting and calm inside. Super small boba shop off of W 19th St coming from the ever-busy 55 Freeway/Newport Blvd. It looked like there was very minimal parking available in the shared lot behind the building, but we just walked over from where we got lunch a couple of blocks away. I think this Bobapop only recently opened, and it was evident from how quickly the two workers were doing everything. However, they were patient when taking our orders. They also graciously accomodated my request to correct one of my drinks, which was supposed to be full-sweet Flower Green Milk Tea that tasted unsweetened. After I got my fixed-up drink, I was happy with how satisfying the lightness of the green tea with creamer was on a hot day. My other drink was a Sea Salt Vietnamese Coffee, and I was slightly disappointed in this one. Main reason why was because the sea salt topping was too salty and overpowered the coffee, which surprisingly wasn't that sweet for a Viet coffee. After swirling the creamy sea salt foam into the drink, it still tasted a bit too "cheesy," so I added some whole milk at home to offset the tartness. About three tiny tables and one bench were available for indoor seating, with no visible outdoor seating. Due to this location's limited seating and compact size, it didn't really feel welcoming for studying, working, or hanging out. It seemed more like a grab-and-go place. I'll give them credit for running the shop with great effort during their first few months of opening, but I believe the consistency of flavors and drink-making could be improved. read more

My friend was craving boba all day. By happenstance we ended down in this area, and yelp searched for boba and Bobapop Tea Bar appeared on our search engine. We walked over, but if you are driving down, they have parking in the back of the store. The store oozed with cuteness and service was friendly and welcoming. They had a really extensive menu to order from. My friend ordered a medium Taro Milk Tea with Boba ($6) and I ordered a large Japanese Brown Rice Milk Tea with Egg Pudding ($6.25). The drinks were made fairly quickly. My friend observed that her drink was very milky but the tea essence was less apparent. I agree with the assessment, but I really liked the unique taste of the Japanese brown rice milk tea. The egg pudding was a nice addition. Definitely a great spot for boba if I'm already in the area, but I wouldn't exactly drive out of my way for it due to the congestion driving to the area. The drink is a little weaker than I typically prefer but had a nice complexity to it that made it really good.
