I think I found my new favorite boba spot in OC! Heytea specializes in fresh fruit teas made with natural ingredients, and you can definitely taste the difference. The standout was the King Jasmine Guava. The jasmine tea was incredibly fragrant, and the red guava added the perfect amount of sweetness without overpowering the tea. It was so good that I came back the next day just to order it again. This is an easy 10/10 and a must-try. I also really enjoyed the Pistachio Cloud Jasmine Coconut. The floral jasmine tea paired well with the nutty, slightly salty pistachio foam, while the coconut water kept everything light and refreshing. It was unique and well balanced. The Coconut Mango Blue reminded me of mango sago. It was creamy, refreshing, and enjoyable, although I couldn't taste much of the tea because the mango and coconut flavors were more dominant. My least favorite was the Guava Green Grape. I could barely taste the grape, and the guava was a little too sour for my preference. It wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Overall, I was really impressed with the quality of the teas and how fresh everything tasted. If you're visiting for the first time, I'd highly recommend the King Jasmine Guava. MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENT FOR WORLDCUP MAGNET PROMO!!!! Hey Tea has a promotion stating "BUY 2 Drinks and get a random worldcup magnet" so my daughter asked that we go. I don't like bubble tea but to honor her request to get these cute little magnets we went out of our way to get some tea yesterday. When we arrived, there was a sign in the window showing the promo - NO WHERE STATING YOU HAD TO PLACE IN PERSON ORDER RATHER THAN APP. So out of convenience, although there was hardly a line when we arrived, we ordered two orders of two drinks via the app. We waited over 30 mins for those drinks. To our regrettable surprise, the girl who handed us the drinks said the magnets were only included in the orders placed in person. We said no one said that nor was it advertised anywhere otherwise we would have placed in person. WHAT DOES IT MATTER REGARDLESS? MONEY IS MONEY AND EVERYONE HAS TO WAIT IN PERSON TO PU. We asked for the magnets since we didn't know. THEY COLDLY DECLINED GIVIBG US TWO MAGNETS WHICH PROBABLY COST THEM $0.10 Each BUT COST US $25 + OVER 30 Mins AND RUINED MY DAUGHTER'S EXCITEMENT AND JOY OF RECEIVING THE WORLD CUP MAGNETS. Response to the owner:I took a video of the long pick up line. Customers waited for 30+ mins even after their app said the order is ready - hard to believe why a simple pick-up situation can turn into such chaos. Don't save money - hire a store manager so mistakes like these don't happen. --- I ordered via app and the drinks were ready for more than 30 mins. Yet I was not able to pick up because they wanted everyone waited at the pick up line. There were 30-40 drinks waiting on the shelf yet they didn't have a good organization in place to quickly match the order with the right drinks. No employee called out any number. People who ordered at the store (not the app) don't have a good way to know if their drinks are ready unless they went back and forth from the end of the line and went back to the store to check on the screen. So even when their order isn't ready, they went to the line and wait, making the line stuck. No manager on site - no one tried to manage the line. Most employees were heads down making their drinks at the back, minding their own business. No self pick up area. The drinks melted and the milk could go bad. People waited in the sun and suffered. read more

First time in store at Heytea and there was parking up front and there wasn't a line! Friends have done online order and picked up for us in the past. Love the coconut mango boom drink and have had it at least three times! 5/5. The worker up front that helped us was friendly. The lower rating is more due to the shop feel and scent. Does anyone notice that all Heyteas have a distinct smell to them? I actually don't like the smell but LOVE the drinks ! If they ever have bogos I jump on them because their drinks are $6-$7. My kids love the brown sugar milk because it has no caffeine and if I want to share my drink with them I get the mango coconut boom non caffeinated option. The boba is warm and soft and this place lives up to the hype. I get super excited about their drinks but wish their mobile ordering was as good as 7 leaves. Pretty good! I've only tried heytea twice so far, but so far so good. I've tried the coconut mango boom before and i thought that was good. The flavor reminds me a lot of mango sago or even chè. I've also tried the jasmine milk tea. Very good stuff. It was milky in flavor, yet the floral flavors were bold and stood out, which is exactly how I like my milk tea. The tea here is always spot on but the customer service I experience yesterday was not it. I had a big order which I know can ruffle some feathers. However, every time I asked a question about a listed menu item I was only given "no" as a response. For instance I asked to get the jasmine tea hot and she said "no", I asked for the pistachio coconut drink and she said "no." Then I wanted to know if we could mix things and another worker came over and said no in ruder tone. The problem is absolutely not the drinks, which are always fantastic. The problem is the workers behind the counter not behind cordial when a normal question is asked. After yesterday it's looking like online ordering is the way to go here. I love the mango coconut boom it's very creamy and just the right sweetness. I love their sago also, it's soft and goes well with the mango. The grapefruit boom is good too, however I think it depends on the Grapefruit they are using, since I tried some that are quiet bitter. This drink and refreshing and light. There's a long line and it would be better to order online this will save you probably 30minutes. Or what we did was we ordered and just went to 99 Ranch while waiting. There's no clear direction of where the line starts which can be frustrating. It's extremely small inside with no indoor or outdoor seating. It's a quick grab-n-go location. You don't really interact with any of the workers. You'd order from the kiosk and wait for your number to be called. Throughput can take a while since it's always busy. Drinks: They offer many fresh fruit teas, milk teas, matchas, and more. Nothing on their menu sounds overly sweet or basic. I wanted to try their matcha this time. They had a seasonal drink inspired by the movie/play of "Wicked." The base is matcha and Jasmine tea topped with pomelo dragon fruit cheese foam. Presentation is on point. I ordered this with easy ice and 50% sweetness. Perfect amount of sweetness for me. The matcha and Jasmine tea were fresh and strong flavored. I wish they offered a sip-through lid rather than a dome-lid because there's no way to enjoy the foam and drink unless you take the dome-lid off.
