I loooove how rich and smooth the soft serve is. It's not gonna taste quite like other vanilla soft serve you find here in the US, so don't expect something as sweet as Dairy Queen. The sundaes offer a nice balance of toppings, too. Considering how just about every other ice cream shop has jumped in price over the last few years, the low prices here are very welcome. Unfortunately, this location loses a star for not only being cashless (I know it's common these days, but for any store that isn't a tiny 1-person operation or a temporary pop-up, unwillingness to accept legal tender loses points with me), but the order kiosks have given me grief each time I've come (three visits). I couldn't help but think about how much of it is artificial and would much prefer paying more for frozen yogurt. The store was also pumping some very dramatic music - sounded like you were in some sort of monster-chasing-you movie. There are two kiosks to place your order. My sister was excited when this shop opened and wanted to come after not being able to try it during her vacation. We've been here a few times since opening and each time they have a line going out the door but it moves relatively quickly. The claim to fame can be attributed to its low priced quality cones or nvidia Jensen Huang's food tour/review of their drink. The staff has been extra friendly and helpful and can walk through the menu with you as well. In my opinion, their ice cream cone is the star as it's cheap and tastes great. We were nearby so decided to make a stop and try Mixue. We ordered through the self kiosk and picked up our ice cream and drinks at the counter when our number was called. The matcha and vanilla was very good and smooth. It was definitely a good soft serve. It is not a lot of ice cream but it was good value for the price. Affordable and convenient. For those who aren't interested in soft serve, there are also drinks available. We ended up getting the jasmine tea, lemon black tea, and orange fruit tea. This place is super cute and affordable! Where else can you get a huge ice cream cone for less than $2? I saw this place a lot on TikTok and decided to try it with a friend. It's in the Quail Hill plaza, so lots of parking and seating outside. I opted for the chocolate cone which was $1.69, slightly more expensive than the classic vanilla. It was good! We were super excited to visit the new Mixue in Irvine because we saw so many locations while traveling in Asia but never jumped at the chance to try it. The line wasn't too long, despite being opened for less than a week. There are self-service kiosks for ordering, but we placed our order with the cashier. So my son went and received his cone after waiting a bit, but it was unclear whether we would get our other items there as well. After finally receiving all our items, we went outside to eat. Mixue's soft serve is very soft. It wasn't especially hot that day but in the short time that we walked outside the cone was a drippy mess. The ice cream is fine - smooth with a decent taste of vanilla. It's not something I would crave. The mango sauce was okay and paired well with the soft serve. The chocolate cookie sundae was also just ok. These were not items that I would drive down to Irvine specifically for. On the good side - their mascot, the Snow King, is freaking cute. They do feature branded merch featuring his highness, so that was neat. Additionally, the prices are on the lower side from what we're used to, especially for the cone (less than $1.75 I believe?). Tried this place as they opened the store in Quail Hills. The place was full of people waiting for the orders. When we visited there was no options to get tea and boba. It was a a bit chaotic when we ordered sundae and soft serve. the servers were all busy and a bit frantic when trying to get the orders out. By the time I got my order my ice cream was half melted and asked to have it remade. We were also instructed to pick up the soft serve in a different part of the store, which we had to go back into another line for pickup. Really happy to see the first MIXUE in Orange County finally open! The Quail Hill location is excellent--it's in a pleasant shopping center surrounded by neighborhoods, so it's easy to drive, walk, or bike here. The drinks were flavorful, the prices are very affordable for Southern California, and my parents especially enjoyed the soft serve. A couple things to know: the U.S. rewards program doesn't sync with the mainland China MIXUE membership, so your points and coupons won't carry over. There's also no official mobile ordering yet, but you can order through Fantuan or HungryPanda. Overall, a great addition to Irvine, and I hope more locations open soon. read more

I rarely give negative reviews because I know it really impacts small businesses but our experience was quite unacceptable. We came on grand opening weekend and their drink machine was broken so only ice cream was available. The ordering queue for the kiosk wasn't too bad of a wait but there were no directions how we should get our ice creams. Apparently you have to just go up to the person making ice creams to let them know you bought one and they will make you one. We stood around waiting not knowing what's going on for over 20 minutes. We also ordered ice cream sundaes and we saw 2 sitting on the counter that were our exact orders but with a different order #. I kept asking if that was ours and it was sitting on the counter for over 15 min with no one claiming it. I kept asking and finally the unhelpful staff looked at it and said he mislabeled it and yes it's our order. He was trying to hand us ice cream sundaes that's been sitting on the counter melted for over 15 minutes. I insisted on them making new ones for us and they just looked so annoyed. The price point is cheap but they need to improve on process and their team members attitudes. I dare to say the soft serve here is a little better, as it tasted creamier. I got 3 drinks for a total of $11, which is crazy in this economy! I tried their grape drink with taro ball, the lemonade, and their signature milk tea (not on the picture). The lemonade was SOOOOO refreshing!! Love the taro balls from the grape drink. The milk tea was good, but nothing too crazy. It was so crowded, so I forgot to adjust the sweetness. Recommend getting your drinks 50% sweet because my drinks were so sweet for my taste. I have to highlight the soft serve ice cream because this literally is the best soft serve I have had in a while! It was light yet super creamy and not too sweet. Then I saw their soft opening free ice cream ads and finally got to try them out. $1.19 for an ice cream with a waffle cone is a deal! Their ice cream was more milky. I usually don't like too heavy of an ice cream, but their cone size was perfect. (My bf said he prefers Mcd's ice cream over this). I got to try 4 drinks: Peach Oolong Tea, Spring Oolong Milk Tea, Passion Blast, and Lemon Iced Tea. None of them were my favorites. Drinks were so diluted like I was drinking lightly flavored water. Noted that their boba is not honey boba, so it's like having a flavorless flour soaked in water. Peach Oolong Tea was on the sour side with unusual textured toppings. So happy to see this chain in Irvine now! The line on a Saturday afternoon was not too bad - moved really quickly as they had a couple self ordering kiosks which really sped up the process and they passed out fans in line as well. The wait for drinks however did take a while (36 mins) but they blocked off a section in the parking lot in front of the store as a waiting area. The store itself is clean and there are a couple of seats but pretty small overall. We got the lemon ice tea as well as the peach mango tea both with regular sweetness and ice. The drinks were really refreshing and the perfect amount of sweetness although I would get less ice next time since the ice filled up almost half the cup. The peach mango tea came with some jelly inside too which was nice. I do wish they offered this drink in a large size though. The vanilla soft serve was good and affordable, it had a distinct flavor that reminded me of white rabbit candies. The drinks were ok, especially for the cheaper price, but I preferred the ice cream. The orange punch was very tea forward, but I wish it had more orange flavor. I also thought that the sweetness levels were a little different than I'm used to. I got 75% sugar and I feel like it was not sweet at all, more comparable to a 25% sugar drink at typical boba shop here. Honestly, I am not sure what the hype was about. I originally heard this place was really popular and even a friend waited over 2 hours in line for their ice cream and drinks. I came in and was able to walk straight up to the ordering kiosk. I ended up ordering a pearl milk tea and an ice cream. It took about 10 minutes or me to get my order with about 2-3 people who ordered before me. I think the pearl milk tea was below average, since the boba was a bit too hard and the milk tea was not anything special. The ice cream had a particular taste to it that I have never tried before. It was not on the creamy side like I am used to, but it seemed a bit more tart. The waffle cone that the ice cream came with was not a traditional waffle cone, but a bit more airy.
