Honestly, it wasn't the best, but I can't complain because the price was great!! To me, the ice cream and drink tasted more on the artificial(?) side, like either powder or syrups were used to make them rather than fresh ingredients. Service was REALLY, and I mean REALLY quick. I literally ordered at the kiosk, turned around, and my order was called. It was quite impressive! Overall, the drinks and soft serve aren't terrible. The matcha soft serve tastes kind of like the matcha snacks in the grocery store (my friend compared the taste to a matcha kitkat). What I Ordered: Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba ($4) MIXUE Soft Serve ($1.19) Food: Jasmine Milk Tea was great for the price. It is almost impossible to find $4 milk teas with boba in this economy, so it was refreshing to find a drink shop with actually reasonable prices. The 100% sweetness is their regular, and it was way too sweet for me. I was able to taste the syrup more than the actual flavor of the milk tea. The boba pearls were great quality with perfect consistency and chewiness! I don't think I would come here frequently for the boba, but I would come here to find something that gets the job done of having a boba craving for a cheap price. MIXUE Soft Serve is what their most famous for, as it is only a little over a dollar. This is again an amazing price in this economy. The soft serve has a good milk flavor with a bit of vanilla. I love soft serve, and for the price, you really can't beat the quality. It makes a great post-lunch or post-dinner treat! As someone who is calorie-conscious, I appreciate having the calorie count available at around 150 calories, the cone is very reasonable. Great for budget-conscious people who aren't picky about taste. The former boba shop, Tea Maru, is closed, and this new store opened on 06/06/2026. Matcha Latte with taro balls and almond jelly at 100% sugar ($5.48). Classic Pearl Milk Tea at 100% sugar ($3.99). I only order the medium size, but the portion feels pretty generous--almost equivalent to a large at other places. The tea base is very average and tastes like artificial flavorings. The tapioca pearls are soft and chewy, and the taro balls are decent. I strongly recommend asking for 30% to 50% sugar. Full sweetness (100% is their default) is absurdly sweet--even as someone with a massive sweet tooth, I can't handle it! If you aren't worried about diabetes, you can even challenge their 200% sugar option, lol. This place focuses on low prices, costing about 60% of what other shops charge. This place is super cute and affordable! Where else can you get a huge ice cream cone for less than $2? I saw this place a lot on TikTok and decided to try it with a friend. We were super excited to visit the new Mixue in Irvine because we saw so many locations while traveling in Asia but never jumped at the chance to try it. The line wasn't too long, despite being opened for less than a week. There are self-service kiosks for ordering, but we placed our order with the cashier. For all the long lines and hype Mixue has had upon opening, I was expecting to be blown away. When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon the line wasn't awful- it was maintained within the store. So my son went and received his cone after waiting a bit, but it was unclear whether we would get our other items there as well. After finally receiving all our items, we went outside to eat. Mixue's soft serve is very soft. It wasn't especially hot that day but in the short time that we walked outside the cone was a drippy mess. The ice cream is fine - smooth with a decent taste of vanilla. It's not something I would crave. The mango sauce was okay and paired well with the soft serve. The chocolate cookie sundae was also just ok. These were not items that I would drive down to Irvine specifically for. On the good side - their mascot, the Snow King, is freaking cute. They do feature branded merch featuring his highness, so that was neat. Additionally, the prices are on the lower side from what we're used to, especially for the cone (less than $1.75 I believe?). It was a a bit chaotic when we ordered sundae and soft serve. the servers were all busy and a bit frantic when trying to get the orders out. Really happy to see the first MIXUE in Orange County finally open! The Quail Hill location is excellent--it's in a pleasant shopping center surrounded by neighborhoods, so it's easy to drive, walk, or bike here. The drinks were flavorful, the prices are very affordable for Southern California, and my parents especially enjoyed the soft serve. A couple things to know: the U.S. rewards program doesn't sync with the mainland China MIXUE membership, so your points and coupons won't carry over. There's also no official mobile ordering yet, but you can order through Fantuan or HungryPanda. Overall, a great addition to Irvine, and I hope more locations open soon. read more

I rarely give negative reviews because I know it really impacts small businesses but our experience was quite unacceptable. We came on grand opening weekend and their drink machine was broken so only ice cream was available. The ordering queue for the kiosk wasn't too bad of a wait but there were no directions how we should get our ice creams. Apparently you have to just go up to the person making ice creams to let them know you bought one and they will make you one. We stood around waiting not knowing what's going on for over 20 minutes. We also ordered ice cream sundaes and we saw 2 sitting on the counter that were our exact orders but with a different order #. I kept asking if that was ours and it was sitting on the counter for over 15 min with no one claiming it. I kept asking and finally the unhelpful staff looked at it and said he mislabeled it and yes it's our order. He was trying to hand us ice cream sundaes that's been sitting on the counter melted for over 15 minutes. I insisted on them making new ones for us and they just looked so annoyed. The price point is cheap but they need to improve on process and their team members attitudes. This drink would have probably tasted better with the coconut jelly or just no toppings. The pearl balls were too chewy which took away from being a refreshing drink. To add, the drink had a bit of an artificial taste. Don't think I would be trying this again. The second drink was the milk tea with pearl balls added. This chain is finally here in Irvine! I knew that they opened one a few months ago in LA, but I'm happy to have one much closer to mẹ. I'm pretty familiar with Mixue since there were so many in Vietnam and Mixue was also my go to there. I have to say the quality is the same across! The line on a Saturday afternoon was not too bad - moved really quickly as they had a couple self ordering kiosks which really sped up the process and they passed out fans in line as well. The wait for drinks however did take a while (36 mins) but they blocked off a section in the parking lot in front of the store as a waiting area. The store itself is clean and there are a couple of seats but pretty small overall. We got the lemon ice tea as well as the peach mango tea both with regular sweetness and ice. The drinks were really refreshing and the perfect amount of sweetness although I would get less ice next time since the ice filled up almost half the cup. The peach mango tea came with some jelly inside too which was nice. I do wish they offered this drink in a large size though.
