I recently tried this place for dessert and really enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The venue is small but clean with lots of nice decorations. We tried the mango pudding which was delicious and fresh. We also tried a mango drink which was excellent. I look forward to visiting again.
First time here, went with the pandan mango sticky rice mochi dessert. Chewie and Mellow has a small location in this plaza with limited seating. Counter service and kiosk ordering is available. Heard mixed things from friends who come here often (quality can be hit or miss), so keeping expectations in check. But this dessert was solid: pandan jelly, mango, and sticky rice all had a really nice chew to them, and the coconut milk on top kept everything light instead of heavy. Not overly sweet at all, which made it perfect after a meal nearby. Will be back to see if the rest of the menu holds up the same way.
This is a dessert shop in Irvine located next to Hironori. They have tons of fruity desserts and dessert drinks. I got their mango tango, which came with coconut milk, mango, grapefruit, and tapioca balls (sago). It was delicious and a perfect dessert drink to enjoy on my drive home. I'd definitely come back if I were in the area to try their mochi drinks.
This is one of my favorite places to get dessert. I have been trying to find a good Hong Kong dessert place for a long time. Hui Lau Shan just isn't good anymore. Chewie and Mellow satisfies this craving so well! I got the mango coconut mochi drink and mango pomelo sago. The mango pomelo sago was so good! The milk pudding reminds me so much of melo melo but without paying the high price. Both of the desserts that we got had mangos that were really sweet. The mochi from the drink had a good texture and the drink was so addictive. I just wish they had actual mochi balls as a topping on the menu. That would be such a great addition to the desserts. The interior of this place had such a cutesy vibe. A lot of different pop mart figures and toys on the walls. Super whimsical feel. The to go bags that they give are also soo adorable! All in all, i love getting my dessert here!

Soft, silky, and almost tofu-like texture. They literally melted in your mouth. I got the taro one, which had pieces of yam & other toppings that really brought the dessert together. My friend got the mango milk pudding, which had little bits of sago & pomelo that made it light & refreshing. We also tried the Peach Princess, smelled just like peach candy! Such a refreshing dessert for a hot day. My friend absolutely loved the mango drink too. Such a fun little dessert spot, delicious treats & cute vibes all around!

The cafe itself has you order at the front, and there is a small, but cutely decorated seating area that leads down a hallway. (No bathrooms by the way, so you will have to go elsewhere if looking for that). I saw that they had a promo for a free milk pudding, and I tried to register for an account, and my friends and I ordered enough to make the cutoff, but then the guy at the register said that the account had to be another day old before I could use that promo sadly. We ordered the strawberry milk mochi, the mango tango, and the mango pomelo sago milk. All of these were delicious, and I really liked the smoothness of the mochi in my strawberry drink compared to 3cat's mochi. Drinks came out decently fast, and overall good service. Would come again next time I drop by the airport!

This place hits that perfect "treat yourself" lane. The drink was super refreshing, nicely sweet, and loaded with that fun chewy texture that makes you feel like you're eating and drinking at the same time. You can customize sugar and ingredients, but I rolled with the standard and it was dialed in just right. On a hot Irvine day, this was exactly what I needed...a little pep in the step, a little sugar happiness, and a solid excuse to slow down for 10 minutes. Located in one of those busy Michelson shopping centers where parking feels like a competitive sport, but worth the effort once you've got a cup in hand. Bottom line for me: fun spot, great flavors, and a solid mood booster when life (or traffic) starts testing you.

Just happened to be at the center and stumbled across this cute fun place! The sign out front caught my eye, so I decided to try one. Then, decided to get two. (Hahah!) When the guy saw I spent over $15, he told me I get an ADDITIONAL one for free!! OMGGG... So here I am with 3 perishable items all to myself. Thinking back, I should have given one to a passerby, but I just thought of that right now. I would have really made someone's day! They were all delicious. I was actually able to just take a taste of all three and they made it home to save for later. My favorite being the Korean milk pudding. The toppings that came on the White Peach flavor was similar to popping boba, but even more fun and crunchy! The pudding reminded me of Melo Melo. Very refreshing and not too sweet. - Mochi Matcha Bowl - White Peach Milk Pudding - Mango Coconut Mochi Drink I was able to get the Mango Coconut Mochi Drink with ZERO SUGAR!! Guilt free and still amazing! Win-Win-Win!
The store is still running strong and the flavors are always delightfully welcoming to the tummy. The place got a cute vibe and I have been taking all my friends and gf here to try with positive results.

First time here with friends and went on a weekday evening. There's indoor seating as well. I love how they sell blind boxes, their whole wall of their collections available to buy. There's also a lot up backdrops for pics. The service was great, kind and friendly. You can order at 2-3 kiosk or on the counter with an employee. I've only ordered the mango pomelo sago pudding; not too sweet and it comes in a small cup which was plentiful for a person. Chewie & Mellow is a cute Chinese dessert shop located in a nice plaza in Irvine. They serve drinks, dessert bowls, and Hong Kong milk pudding. We ordered a Pandan Bliss Bowl and a Strawberry Milk Mochi. Absolutely loved both, not too sweet at all, the flavors were on point, and the dessert comes packaged super conveniently for takeout. There's some tables off to the side of the shop, good for sitting for a short duration but not the best for large groups. Also adored the cute displays they had going on here. I love their white peach Hong Kong pudding. The pudding is not too sweet - just perfect. The toppings for the white peach one is so fun. It's like little pieces of peach in a ball. It's super refreshing. The desserts come out pretty fast after you order on the kiosk. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program! This is such a cute place I couldn't stop taking pictures! The coconut pudding is really reasonably priced, and the coconut flavor was very strong and delicious. There's a good variety of toppings for all of the coconut dessert, desserts and I'm already planning on going back to try some of the other flavors. It's a pretty small café, but they do have a row of seating along one side of the restaurant so you can definitely find a spot to sit with a friend or two. There's a lot of really good places in this mini mall so parking can get crowded quickly but other than that everything about this particular dessert shop was excellent! read more

Very cutely decorated interior with pink seats, bear decor, wall of toys you can buy. One worker but can order at kiosks or with worker. Worker answered any questions we had about the drinks and service was pretty good, but we were also one of the only customers Peach princess bowl was good for the price (~$9) considering how many toppings you get and its not too sweet. Milk pudding (~$6) is the best by far. It is very smooth, rich, creamy, and milky pudding. Would highly recommend anyone try it I would come back here just for the pudding read more

Came across this place after stopping by the food court and so glad I got some milk pudding cups to go! Brought it home and put it in the fridge for the next day and it was still so good and fresh!! I got mango and taro, super tasty. Not too sweet, fresh and creamy milk pudding so addicting! Service is excellent, order on iPad and it came out so fast! Ambiance is very cute cafe , lots of decor and trinkets. Definitely coming back!! read more

Went on a Monday night and got the Tropical Mango. The workers there were really helpful and gave us a few recommendations. They do have very limited seating on the side as well. FOOD - Got the Tropical Mango that includes Mango Pudding, Purple Rice, Sago, Mango Jelly, Mango chunks, coconut jelly, and coconut milk. The portion was smaller than I expected but it was really good. The mango pudding really goes well with the different toppings. PARKING - There were a lot of parking that are shared among many different stores. They do have a limit of 90 minutes. Parking was really easy to find. OVERALL - great experience, would def come again! read more
Great place to pick up some unique asian desserts! Came here on a Sunday night and there was no line, but a steady number of people stopping by for drinks + desserts. ~the food~ - Peach Princess (~$10): This dessert bowl had a peach pudding base with a bunch of fun toppings like water chestnut filled popping boba, agar boba, milk pudding, etc. I really liked the peach pudding flavor, it didn't taste artificial and was not too sweet! I love that you can adjust the sweetness level of the bowl, we opted for 50% and it was just perfect! I think the only thing was that we were expecting the bowl to be cold, but it was room temperature. Maybe that's how their dessert bowls are support to be lol I think I would still prefer it cold, since the flavors were giving refreshing peach. However, we still really enjoyed it! ~parking~ Parking wasn't too tough, but there is a pretty popular ramen place + food hall in the same plaza, so parking might be a bit challenging for peak weekend dinner time. ~overall~ Super cute decor, a great casual place to pick up some nice desserts! read more

I've been on the hunt for a red bean/coconut dessert. I will start by saying the interior of this is super cute and has some great photo op areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Unfortunately, I did not love the Red Bean Hong Kong Milk Pudding. A lot of places usually have the pudding in a glass or plastic jar and this came in a cardboard container. The texture and sweetness of the red bean was lacking. If I were to come back I would likely try one of the drinks instead. read more
