I've been a fan of Melo Melo for a while now and have visited a few of their locations. Anytime I'm nearby, I always make it a point to stop in and grab a few jars to go because they're just that good. This Irvine location is actually the biggest one I've been to so far. They have a full drink menu, plenty of seating, and the whole space is super cute and Instagram-worthy. It's a great spot to hang out and enjoy your dessert instead of just grabbing it to go. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I loved that they let us sample some of the desserts before deciding what to buy. It's honestly hard to choose because everything looks amazing. Some of my favorites are the Mango River, Mango Coconut, Avocado, and Double Coconut. They're all so fresh, light, and packed with flavor. One of the things I love most about Melo Melo is that their desserts don't feel overly sweet or heavy. They're made fresh without preservatives, and compared to a lot of other desserts, they feel like a healthier option that I can enjoy without the guilt. Needless to say, I went a little overboard and left with two bags filled with eight jars of deliciousness. No regrets! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. read more

The perfect snack on a hot day! Every year my family goes strawberry picking at Tanaka Farms and after we stop by. Melomelo is an awesome spot to satisfy your sweet tooth while being healthier than your typical dessert. They have a variety of different flavors, from fruity to more rich, but my go to order here is the original. It's super simple but super delicious! During my last visit, I was there with friends and they opted for banana Nutella and Oreo cream, which I'd say are the richer flavors. I tried bites of theirs and I'd say that the rich flavors don't work as well, and it may be better to stick with the plain or fruity flavors. Honestly, we didn't expect much but we were curious as to what this place was since we've never been there before. I'm so glad that we tried it out because everything there has been delicious that I've tried. The parking is fine as long as you go there early otherwise it becomes a hassle. I liked the salmon-pink color and the minimalism inside. The shop is clean and I liked the vibe. They don't give samples of their products either. The service was great, it went super fast, before we sat down and enjoyed our treat. I've had coconut pudding before but it wasn't as tasty as the ones here. I went for the rose pistachio coconut and it was delicious. I loved the flavor of the rose jelly like consistency mixed in and the little edible flower. I've tried other coconut jelly spots in the past and didn't understand the hype till I tried Melo Melo. Safe to say I'm obsessed! They have a wide variety of flavors you can choose from. Visited this MeloMelo location for the first time yesterday and it was quite nice inside compared to the Westchester location I used to visit before that location closed. Im not sure if all thee MeloMelo establishments are independently owned and operated but Irvine was quite nice. In addition the coconut desserts seemed fresher and prices were a little higher but considering the location, I get it. Parking was a little limited but there were many other restaurants and eating places inside the plaza so no worries about that, just be patient and wait for someone to leave. I've passed by this location many times when I'm in the plaza for boba or dim sum. I finally decided to stop by and grab a jar of their mango coconut pudding. The coconut flavor is light and the pudding itself is a little liquid, I'd prefer if it was a little more firm. The dessert itself is not too sweet, which is a big plus. I've also tried other flavors with my family and I would say my favorite is still the mango and sticky rice coconut pudding. The sticky rice adds a nice qq texture to a softer desssert. The jars are nice but I do feel like I'm paying a premium to get the jars. I have always loved MeloMelo but I'm not in Irvine too much to grab it! If I lived closer I think I'd be broke and have an addiction because they're just that good. The coconut jelly is so wiggly, soft, and perfect!! My personal favorite is the mango coconut when mangoes are in season. It's the perfect combo and I appreciate how fresh the fruit always tastes! I also love the double coconut, which has two layers of coconut jellies with different textures: one is more firm and tastes like coconut water, while the other is more soft and jiggly and resembles more of the coconut meat. All the flavors I've tried have also been good and they have seasonal and limited edition options all the time! The worker was very patient while I spent 10 years trying to decide what I wanted to order (even though I literally end up just getting my favs every time). The interior was very spacious with plenty of tables, but I felt like most people just grabbed theirs and left. They had individually packages spoons and I love that each of the jellos came in glass jars that I was able to bring home and reuse for my matchas and my chia seed puddings! Perfect dating location! Every jar look so perfectly cute together. It's almost too cute to be eaten. I rarely come out to this corner and just found this little gem! First off, looking at the overall store, you can tell aesthetics was a huge focus. The design was very nice and simple, but every part of the store and packaging felt elevated. Service was fine. Even without the great looks, the dessert held its own weight. There's a ton of options but we opted for the Oreo creme. It's a coconut pudding with whatever flavor you'd want and it was incredible. From the flavor to the texture, everything was well balanced. The coconut flavor was nice, not overwhelming, yet still strong enough taste the coconut. The pudding appears more liquidy when first opening, but when tasting, the consistency was actually perfect. It has the perfect jelly feel and is not watery in any way. Stopped by while in the area for coconut jelly or pudding. I'm not quite sure what the specific category it should be so I'll reference it as coconut dessert from here on out. It's a spacious yet small dessert shop which focuses on freshly made coconut jelly/jello/pudding like texture. Each mini jar is made with fresh coconut, coconut meat and water. There's no added sugars, fillers or preservatives. With that said, these need to be refrigerated right away and finished within a few days of purchase. We were told to finish the desserts within 3 days but I was able to finish my 7 desserts 6 days after purchase. They were still fresh and none went off, no bad odors or taste. I kept all mine in the back of my fridge to keep them cold but not frozen. There are so many flavors to choose from and if I had the space in my hotel fridge, I would have purchased all. I purchased the mango puree coconut, taro coconut, sunset mango, red bean coconut, triple matcha, and strawberry oat matcha. All were so good!! If I had to choose as repeat purchase I'd buy the following again: sunset mango, red bean, taro and triple matcha. All desserts were not that sweet and just perfect. I've been cutting back on sugar and this was the right amount of unsweetened dessert. Any sweetness would come from the ingredients. The matcha in each of the coconut matcha had this matcha jelly layer which was paired nicely with the coconut jelly. The two are refreshing together, but who am I kidding, my entire purchase was refreshing. It was that good! They also sell durian coconut but there's a huge disclaimer for it. Basically, to go only and don't eat in side. If you do, you'll get a lot of looks and stares and maybe a few complaints. We all know durian is for the selective palate and senses. The Melo Melo employee was so kind in explaining to me what each dessert was and also suggested some flavors for me since I was indecisive. They also have a rewards program for cool incentives. The jars are also reusable and are quite cute. Since I was traveling, I found the somewhat nearest location for me and it's in Milpitas. I guess once I'm back home, I'll have to make a fun road trip to Milpitas for more coconut desserts. Hopefully one day, they will expand to Northern California! read more

This is my idea of a perfect dessert. It's so delicious!!! Not too sweet. The only thing i wish is for the pudding to be a teeny tiny bit firmer but that's just preference. They don't use gelatin, so that consistency would be hard to achieve. The guy behind the counter, (sorry, I didn't catch his name) was very helpful and answered any questions we had + gave recommendations since it was our first time. Anyway, we tried the peach gum and jasmine jelly, and both were very tasty. We got there a bit before closing so most of the fresh fruit was sold out besides dragon fruit, and i didn't want dragon fruit. Next time, i want to try strawberry or mango. read more

MeloMelo is top tier quality when it comes to coconut jelly desserts. The coconut jelly is silky and the perfect amount of sweetness (not too sweet). I of course love mango, so all of their mango series are delicious. Their desserts always taste super fresh, even if I come late at night at 9pm. I tried a different brand called kokonut for the first time yesterday and not only was it more expensive, but it was not as fresh and the mango was sour. I've also tried coconut jellies from hmart and none come close to melomelo. The irvine melomelo has been the best location I've tried so far! I've tried melomelo in san diego, but it wasn't as good as the irvine location. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I've wanted to try Melo Melo for the longest time and it definitely lives up to the hype. I was so happy to finally try it. I got the mango puree coconut and it was so good. It tastes like pudding and everything melts in your mouth. I didn't think I would finish the whole thing in one serving but I did. I came in on a Thursday evening, maybe around 8 or 9 pm and they still had a good selection left which was nice! The guy working at the front was helping out a family who's having melomelo for the first time? He seemed very knowledgeable and shared their best sellers to help them decide on what to get. There's also a lot of seating inside and wasn't too busy when I came in, but I took my puddings to go. I got the osmanthus oolong oat and the coconut double. I wasn't a huge fan of the mochi layer in the osmanthus oat one because it had a gooey? texture, but the jelly layer at the bottom was quite nice. The coconut double was very good! I really like the layer of coconut milk right at the top. I think melomelo's coconut pudding is much softer than tongsui's, which is another coconut pudding chain in the bay area. read more

Lemme tell ya..I'm a person who LOVES coconut, so when I heard that this new natural & healthy dessert place was opening up right by my house, I HAD to give it a try ~ to see if the delicious pics live up to the hype. The MeloMelo store is located to the right of the Japanese Taiko restaurant (in The Arbor Village Center), taking over the old Yogurtland space. The decor is modern, cute & clean. Right when you walk in, the huge refrigerated display case showcases all the different varieties/flavors of coconut desserts that they offer. The service is pretty quick and the staff are friendly. I've personally tried the classic coconut, strawberry and golden kiwi. While you can tell that they use fresh fruits and the coconut jelly is flavorful and not overly sweet, the consistency is just too soft for me. Especially when I compare it to Kokonut's version ~ which is my ultimate FAV, coconut dessert btw! Go try theirs and you will tell the difference..trust. I like a lil bounce and bite to my jelly/pudding vs being so soft and watery. I do love the cute reusable glass jars, since I save them for other useful ways & storage. So kudos MeloMelo, for doing their part in saving the environment. However, for the price tag of $7.99 (for the classic flavor) to $10.99 (for the different tropical fruit ones)..tbh, idk if it's worth it. It is a refreshing dessert however, and worth a try once..but if given a choice, my go-to & investment is better satisfied with Kokonut's creamy coconut pudding instead.
