I have frequented this location and found it to one of my favorite matcha spots in the Irvine area. It is located in a big plaza with plenty of parking. Even on a busy day, I don't have to wait too long for my order to be ready. It is Asian-owned and I love supporting my local AAPI businesses. The inside is very vibrant with a lot of seats with outlets. There's always AC running so it's nice to enjoy, especially on a hot day. The menu is pretty extensive. They have matcha cold brews, matcha lattes, non-matcha drinks, soft serves, and onigiri rice balls. Except the drink that was waiting for me was noticeably smaller. Like, significantly. I'm estimating around 12oz. Was it delicious? Yes. Was it worth $9+ when $9 used to mean at least 16oz? Not for me. I get that prices have gone up everywhere. That's just life right now. But the menu gave zero indication that the size had changed, and that's the part that stings. Let me make an informed decision. I probably would've still ordered it. Treat yourself, y'know? The blueberry lavender cold foam was super unique it was lightly floral but not overpowering, and it paired really well with the drink underneath. The strawberry cold foam felt fresh and slightly sweet, giving that classic fruity vibe without being too heavy. My personal favorite was the salted caramel cold foam!! it had that perfect balance of sweet and salty and made the drink feel extra indulgent. I stopped by Junbi because i was craving Matcha and it was one of the few open later at night. I really liked the inside of the establishment. It felt very big with lots of open space and i loved the bright colored walls. It has a very fun and fresh vibe. I also liked that they had kiosks to self order. Service was pretty fast. I ordered the Madagascar vanilla matcha. Unfortunately for me the drink fell flat. It tasted more like milk than anything else. Still great flavors and recipes! I usually order a cold drink with less ice and less sugar. Strawberry cold foam matcha latte, less sugar, less ice. Cold mango matcha cold brew with almond jelly, less ice. Order at the kiosk; one of the two order kiosks is wheelchair accessible. Sometimes, the store is empty because the barista is at the back, leaving no-one to recommend drinks or answer questions. As far as I know, they only prepare drinks in plastic cups. The option to enjoy drinks in glasses or cups would decrease the plastic pollution problem. Appreciate that the restroom door does not have a cipher lock! read more

3/12/2026 First time at Junbi. Hojicha Cold Foam Latte Slight nuttiness with an earthy flavor, like cocoa. When mixed with the vanilla cold foam, it tastes a bit like a light coffee with cream with that light earthy flavor coming through. The cold foam really makes this drink taste unique! I ordered through self-kiosk and I got hojicha with normal sweetness and light ice. I mixed everything before drinking and it was just the perfect amount of sweetness. Some people may like it a bit sweeter, but personally, this was perfect. This was really good! I would reorder in a heartbeat! Strawberry Matcha Coldbrew Ordered via self-kiosk. It was a bit tricky as it had too many options you had to either opt out of or add. They will not let you check out until you press the right buttons. Got it with light ice, no milk, normal sweetness. I sipped it without mixing and immediately tasted the strawberry puree which was a tad too sweet, but when mixed with the matcha, it all balanced out and tasted great together, like a good refreshing drink on a hot day. The strawberry puree tasted great too with real strawberry flavor. Both drinks were great and I would reorder both again! Ugh. I find myself coming to Junbi less and less. Don't get me wrong, the drinks are still good and consistent. What is not consistent is the price. At one point I was paying over $9 for a boba drink. And just this weekend, I paid $8+ for my go to (strawberry matcha) in a "shrunk cup". It looks like the drink went from a venti to a grande. It's essentially matcha latte with Korean 미숫가루 (?an assortment of 7 different bean powders used to make quick shakes). It was pretty good. Also ordered one of those rice balls (tsukudani kelp). Hello, Unfortunately I had the worst Matcha ever at this place. It was extremely watered down and their menu is very deceptive. They titled it as matcha salted with cold foam and I got green water in a cup with no cold foam. It was literal green water. They also proceeded to charge me $9 something and I left a tip so total was a bit over $10 for the worst drink in the world. This place is a rip off and should not be in service with the way they are scamming people. Whether hot or cold, the matcha drinks at Junbi reign supreme! Ever since trying Junbi at a Yelp Elite event, we've visited a dozen or so times to try different drinks from their extensive menu. Two of our favorites are: Madagascar Vanilla Matcha Latte: delicious vanilla flavor and a classic choice whether iced or hot! I alternate between the two depending on weather and mood. Guava Matcha Latte: if you like guava, you'll love the fruity and fragrant flavor of this drink! I've also tried this both hot and cold and it works well either way, with maybe the iced version edging out the hot version by a slim margin. Agree with other reviews when they say that the pure fruit teas are not as strongly flavored as the matcha drinks. Go with their matcha specialty and choose any of their matcha drinks for maximum enjoyment! Service is good and we've never had to wait long. The taste was fantastic and I love myself some purple potato and black sesame. Those two are my weakness and having it with espresso was heavenly. I tried to order the drink through the machines but they didn't offer the BT21 galaxy series drink there or the merch. I went to the counter to order my drink and got one of the blind box glass drinkware. They had all the BT21 characters out on display and it was SO SO cute. I loved all the merch but it was really pricey so I only got one blind box. There's limited seating inside since the BT21 display took up the front of the store. Guava matcha cold brew was a balance of fruity and strong matcha. I can tolerate coffee well, which this matcha cold brew won't let you down. I enjoyed and pro if one doesn't like the taste of coffee but needs energy boosting. Cold Mango Matcha Latte had pieces of mango in the purée. It reminded me of a fusion between a matcha shake and mango lassi. Mango lover would appeal, I like my matcha drink a bit less latte (I favor their cold brew style) however it serves its name well! Recently i visited Junbi and was disappointed with my experience. The store was not busy at all, yet the matcha quality has noticeably declined compared to before. The cups are smaller now, and the matcha tasted watered down. I ordered four drinks, and unfortunately, all of them had the same watered-down taste. Came by with a friend a little after 5pm on a Monday afternoon in July, and there was no line! Only a couple of other customers were there, so it was pretty quiet. There were two tablets available for ordering, but if you go up to the cashier, they'll add an extra shot of matcha free of charge. - Matcha Latte (less ice, less sweet, whole milk) - refreshing and not too sweet, but I was disappointed that it was more of a matcha-milk drink and not a really concentrated matcha type of drink. My friend was not a fan - Matcha Vanilla Swirl Soft Serve with Red Bean - definitely much stronger flavor compared to the matcha latte. Had an opportunity to check this place out and it did not disappoint. I'm so honest I don't regularly have matcha unless it's a hot tea, but in wanted to try their cold duck with mango flavoring. I got the Guava Matcha (regular sweet) and really enjoyed it -- the flavor was refreshing and balanced. Came by to try out the tea. Originally ordered the peach green tea. To find out that they had ran out of peach topping for my drink. So the staff asked if I'd like to change my order. I visited on a Sunday. It was nice and quiet. There are a few seats so I wouldn't say to roll in with a big group unless you plan on taking it to go. Team member was very kind and helpful explaining the different matcha drinks and topping options. She recommended going less sweet which was perfect. Sweet but not too sweet. I tried the location in Hawaii before and ordered the Madagascar vanilla matcha latte. It was just a vanilla drink, absolutely no matcha flavor at all. I ordered a matcha latte with coconut milk and an extra shot of matcha in hopes that it would help with the flavor and because it was free for that day lol! Suuuuuuper disappointing! I love this place so much !!! This is probably my 4th time getting this place but my first time ordering in person and I must say they know how to make these drinks . I love the topping choices that they have to offer and their matcha drinks are amazing . Super refreshing and never bitter after taste . I wish they had crystal boba as one of their topping choices but it's still delicious either way. I love how spacious this place is perfect for when the it gets crowded but there's not a lot of seating inside tho gotta get lucky if you want to make sure you have somewhere to sit if you come here with group of friends . The matcha drinks here are delicious and I love the vibes of the cafe! There's some small tables, but otherwise not much by way of seating. They have a self-serve ordering system which is nice and efficient, and the drinks are prepared pretty quickly. I really enjoy their Miffy collab drinks so far - the sakura lychee is delicious! I've had the sakura lychee matcha latte and I enjoyed the mostly matcha flavor that I got from it with a light lychee flavor and lychee bits. This review is ONLY based on their cups not the drink(s)!!! I have been a long time customer of Junbi and absolutely love their drinks! HOWEVER - seeing the recent change in their cups I have to say that it is extremely lacking!! Why the big downsize first of all? And secondly, the functionality of the cup lids fail horrendously!! The lids do not properly stay on causing the drinks to leak/spill. Even after trying to readjust the lid to close shut on the cup it WILL NOT stay shut. It ended up leaking all over my pants today (sadly didn't realize until getting into the car) and this isn't the first time I've noticed the new cups leaking. These cups are also not compatible for our vehicle cup holders (for reference we have a RAV4). The previous design worked very well with no issue of having 2 drinks fit side by side. PLEASE consider bringing back the heat sealed tops for your cups! Or finding a completely different design for your cups and lids! read more

I went to Junbi in May and was surprised by their spring miffy theme! They have some collab merch which was so cute and have a whole set of seasonal drinks on their menu. I didn't get any of the seasonal drinks lol oops. We got the strawberry matcha latte and the dirty taro vanilla matcha latte. The strawb matcha kinda reminded me of strawberry jam lol but in a good way. The matcha flavor wasn't too strong here, but it was still an enjoyable drink. (I used to go once a week before), and it was still a huge disappointment. 1) Cups are now cheapo contrary to what the owner is trying to say. The lids leak if you bring it in a car. It never used to. 2) They give you a less than before. The cups are small now. Really small. 3) They raised their prices 4) Not joking here, but they've really watered down the drink.
