Cute ice cream shop located in OC. The shopping center is busy so it's more of a grab and sit in your car to eat kind of spot. There is ample parking around but I could picture it filling up on a really busy night. I am glad it's open a bit later than most shops and very fast quick service. This is honestly the best Honeymee in Orange County. It's in a quaint plaza with other food spots, such as a hot pot and boba spot. They also have some items on the menu that other Honeymee's don't have. The employees here are also usually friendlier than some of the other locations. However, if you don't want to talk to anyone while ordering, a kiosk is available. Personally, my favorite item is the Sweetie, which has true milk ice cream drizzled with honey. The Honeymee -- true milk ice cream with honeycomb -- is also pretty good if you're into honeycombs. My bf's favorite is the Dear Caramel, which has a caramel drizzle topped with what is reminiscent of dalgona coffee bits. The milkshakes here are also a solid choice. While I'm still sad that my favorite and closest Honeymee location in Garden Grove closed a couple of years ago, the Irvine location is pretty reliable in terms of consistency and service. read more

The ice cream shop is conveniently located within a busy Asian shopping complex, making it an easy stop while in the area. Since this is an established chain, I was already familiar with the quality of the ice cream, and the product itself did not disappoint. Unfortunately, the service at this particular location could use improvement. There were mistakes with both our order and the payment, which required the ice cream to be remade and the transaction to be processed again. Mistakes are understandable, but I was surprised to see an employee forcefully throw the incorrectly prepared ice cream into the trash in front of customers. The way the situation was handled came across as unnecessarily unprofessional. One feature I really appreciated was the small plate attached to the cone, which made it much easier to catch drips and avoid a mess. Overall, the ice cream was good and the location is convenient, but the service experience fell short of what I would expect from this chain. read more

I've been coming to Honeymee ever since they first opened during peak COVID era, and for years the Darling was one of our go-to orders. Back then, the soft serve was incredibly creamy, rich, and had a thick consistency that made it stand out from other dessert spots. Over the past few years though, it seems like the recipe or preparation has changed. Since around 2022, the soft serve felt more diluted, with a lighter and airier texture. It's still enjoyable, but it doesn't have the same dense, creamy consistency that I remember, especially during the height of the pandemic when it seemed to be at its best. That said, the Darling is still a classic menu item, and the honey flavor remains unique. I keep coming back partly out of nostalgia and partly because there still aren't many places that offer quite the same combination. I just miss the richer, creamier version that it initially had and hope that the recipe will change for the better. read more

Was in the area and wanted some sweet and this place popped up. Had it before in Gardena and it's quite good and natural sweet. Good menu with great varies choices. Got couple small and it just hitted all the right place. Parking can be a hassle since it right at the exit way and abit tough to get it or you can park inside and walk over. Staff are nice and friendly. The place is clean, spacious with nice and cute decor, the vibe is chill and relax. Seating area is small but doable. Wanted to give Honeymee another try after being disappointed the last couple of visits. Something just feels different. I used to love coming here when this location first opened. The soft serve had great flavor and was super rich and creamy. But the last few times, something has felt off. One visit, the soft serve tasted so watered down that I could barely taste the flavor. This time, it tasted more like whipped cream than actual soft serve, both in texture and flavor. It's honestly disappointing because I came here 6-7 times when they first opened and really enjoyed it. Consistently good... Came here after dinner at momo paradise, and can't complain. Got the honey ice cream with the drizzle and cornflakes, and it was creamy and perfectly sweet. I love their soft serve more than anyone else's including SomiSomi. Just getting their plain vanilla in a waffle cone with a drizzle of honey (or not) is peak confectionery perfection! The quality is impeccable and decadent. It tastes closer to actual ice cream than any other soft serve. Service is fine. Ambiance is still all right. Came here because HeyTea didn't have either of the drinks I wanted to order and for nostalgia sake. I used to go to the one in Buena Park and my mom and I loved their sweetie ice cream. I ordered the lavender milkshake today because that used to be another favorite order of mine. My only minor complaint is that I'd have to echo another reviewer that the milkshake wasn't filled to the top of the cup which is a bummer especially since the drink is $7.45. While the flavor and consistency was still perfect, I hope they end up fixing their measurements so that we get what we paid for. Otherwise, they have a cute small interior with some limited seating. I am such a sucker for milk ice cream and it's my favorite ice cream flavor. Such a simple flavor but is so delicious when it's done well! There used to be a Honeymee near where I'm from but they closed down so I haven't had it in years. It was just as good as I remembered if not better! I got the darling which is just a plain milk ice cream. It was so amazing that I finished the entire thing and I never usually finish my ice cream because I get too full but I literally couldn't stop eating. My friends and I sat inside, it's really bright and there were a few small tables. It's right next to Heytea and the best part is that it's just as good but there's never a line! read more

really good soft serve. the store is right next to hey tea so it's pretty popular. i've tried their matcha and original soft serve with the honeycomb and it's all pretty solid. i would recommend just getting the honey drizzle because the honey comb can be hard to swallow and the more you chew it the waxier it becomes. read more

Great and unique ice cream place. The person working the front desk was very pleasant and nice. Indoor sits four at the counter and two tables of 4. There's not a lot of outdoor seating but they're easy to grab and go. Prices are really good for the value and amount of ice cream you're getting. Indoor is very clean but no bathroom. And most importantly, not too sweet! read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! I haven't been to Honeymee for sooo long but I used to go and love it in LA koreatown and Sawtelle. My friend and I noticed things have changed much with Melo Melo, so we walked acrossed the street and were deciding between HeyTea and Honeymee, but we were SO GLAD we went with Honeymee to sit inside at the cute table. The lady(owner?) was so sweet and of course, my OG Honeymee was sooo GOOD. My friend's yuju drink was so refreshing and yummy, too. It's been yearsss since I had Honeymee. It used to be my go-to in college. I randomly came across this location last week and am happy to report that the soft serve is still the same - silky smooth and not too sweet, which is the perfect base for the honey or any other toppings. This time, I actually gave the yuzu affogato a try. The yuzu sauce was a little overpowering and quite sweet. After trying a few items over the years, the honeycomb soft serve is still my personal #1. This location is quite small with a few seatings, but bright and clean. the lady from last night was EXTREMELY RUDE to the customers. It was at 10 pm and she was clanking and making really loud noises while trying to pack away stuff clearly to tell us to get the fuck out of there. She yelled at the guy in the front asking what time it was and then when he said 10:30, she kicked all of us out and banged on the chairs and everything. I love this place but I definitely will NOT come back ever again. We dont pay for stuff and get treated very poorly just because it's closing time. She could have said it in a nice way. it's been awhile since i've had honeymee, so i was impressed that the soft serve was still really good! they have added on a lot of new flavors since i've been, and i tried out the yuzu affogato which was a vanilla based soft serve topped with a yuzu syrup and had corn flakes on the bottom. the tartness of the yuzu paired really well with the sweet vanilla, and the corn flakes added a nice crunch! this was a really good and balanced sweet treat, and definitely big enough to share it was decently crowded for a random tuesday evening, but service was really quick and efficient. there are a few tables and chairs to sit and eat, but it fills up pretty quickly since the shop is kinda small. read more

My experience was good this time. There was a nice, efficient lady working at the counter. The store is clean with few tables and chairs as before. Our ice cream came out fast. They also added tons of flavors that somehow weren't available on delivery apps. I've ordered through delivery apps a couple of times from this location but they only show sttandard flavors. Their ice cream is still as nice and not too sweet. I ordered the Dalgona flavor this time, which tasted like coffee chips on the milk ice cream with some sort of caramel/ honey swirl. Honeymee is a very popular ice cream chain, and this spot in Irvine has been a staple for years. I came recently and was surprised to find it pretty empty. The service was still fast and friendly. I enjoyed the space and cleanliness of the place. The ice cream also remains delicious, although it is definitely quite pricey for the amount of ice cream you are getting. Have been wanting to try Honeymee for forever and it was so good! I got their plain cream with honey and additional corn chips. Getting the honey was definitely the right move--it's thick and adds a perfect flavor to the plain ice cream, which is also super thick. I added corn chips however there weren't very many, so I didn't really think that was worth it. Note that they also leave the middle pretty hollow. This location was super small with only 2 tables inside, service was really fast though. Overall I really liked the taste of this place and will be back if craving thick ice cream! read more

First time here! I came here for this Sweetie. I heard how good this place was, and so I spontaneously wanted to give it a try since I live very close to this place. The honey and ice cream was sooo delicious! I couldn't stop eating it until it was a gone. The lines was confusing because it has a busy line for HeyTea and then there was a line out the door for Honeymee, but no idea why it took so long just to order. I went inside and notice people were kinda chilling near the kiosk, so others outside waiting really have no idea that people inside were holding up the line. I suggest staff try to monitor this, to promote sales if customers are going to be making it a issue of letting other customers from ordering. I was almost discouraged to wait in line for ice cream, but glad I had walked in and talked to staff and she helped me right away. It was busy inside. Staff that helped me right away was so sweet and made me happy when I got my treat immediately. That was great first time experience and I will be inviting my friends to come here with me. read more

Hui Lau Shan is a Hong Kong-based dessert chain heavily devoted to mango, which is immediately apparent from the display case filled with glossy dessert mannequins identified by little tags like "J3 Pomelo & Mango with Sago." The place knows its constituency. If mango is your religion, this is at minimum a chapel. The Irvine location itself is remarkably unpretentious: cracked, slightly sticky-looking concrete floors, deafening music that sounded approximately 15 years past its cultural sell-by date, and a youthful crowd containing several people whose legs appeared skinnier than my fingers. I felt less like a customer and more like an archaeological specimen temporarily admitted for observation. Being the radical nonconformist that I am, I came to a mango dessert shop and ordered the watermelon with coconut jelly. On a hot Irvine day, it was excellent -- cold, clean, refreshing and just sweet enough. 5/5. They've got some really tasty flavors, including vegan options, and the texture is smooth and creamy. I tried Honeymee for the first time and got the Honeymee soft serve with matcha and strawberry. Let me just say--it was absolutely worth it! The matcha on top tasted incredibly fresh and creamy, and the addition of honey was a total game changer. I've never had honey with soft serve before, and it added such a nice sweetness that really elevated the dessert. The soft serve itself was silky, smooth, and packed with flavor. We added strawberry at the bottom, and I loved that it included actual chunks of fresh strawberry--it was such a nice touch. I will say the portion is on the smaller side for the price (about $7-$8), but the quality is outstanding, so it feels worth it for a treat. Honeymee has some really good soft serve at a pretty reasonable price! I tried both the honeycomb and chocolate flavors. Both were tasty, and the soft serve itself was smooth and creamy. The honeycomb one had a nice touch of sweetness, and I liked the edible honeycomb that came with it. I just wish the honey was more evenly layered instead of mostly sitting on top. I tried Honeymee twice. First time, I got the sea salt caramel milkshake which was small for the price, but very tasty! I enjoyed the sea salt crunches. Second time, I got the Sweetie, which is milk ice cream with honey drizzled on it. Again, the portion sizes are quite small for what they charge. The honey was above average but there was nothing special about the milk ice cream. I would recommend adding more honey (they charge extra) to the milk ice cream to mask the blandness of the ice cream. read more

Yummy! I love this place! I decided to take my kids when I heard they were opening. My kids had the Sweetie and I had the coffee milkshake. The soft serve had a wonderful rich milk flavor and the honey was amazing. Now on to the milkshake. I didn't expect the honey to make such a difference in the flavor. But it did, and it was so good. We basically had to stand in line like a fast food chain, like Burger King or McDonald's, and ordered ice cream. But the setup was and looked like five guys burgers. The overall experience here at Handel's Homemade Ice Cream shop in Irvine, California was about 10-15 minutes. My group of 5 each got something and I ended up with a pint of their chocolate ice cream. It was a part of my birthday dinner celebration on a weekend in September 2026. Thankful that my purchase was paid for by family. It was around 8pm when we walked in on a Saturday night. There was no visible chairs and tables to sit on so we ended up eating it on the way to the car. I myself ended up eating my pint of ice cream back in my hotel room later that evening while enjoying late night tv. And at Handel's Ice cream shop, it was nice. There were a bunch of high school kids working that night and it was nice to see all of them working professionally and being responsible and respectful. It was honestly cool that there's some good in the world these days. I enjoyed that aspect of this experience and got in ice cream for my birthday celebration. The overall experience and atmosphere of Handel's Homemade Ice Cream in Irvine, California was nice and casual, while being very much expedient and enjoyable as the same time. While there weren't any tables inside the ice cream shop, there was limited seating outside the store, but they were occupied at the time I was there. The restaurant was kind of standing room only, so there was a bunch of people already in line when my group came in to check out the scene. For the most part though, it was nice to have an ice cream shop nearby to complete the birthday dinner ensemble after a ramen dinner with family. Ice cream is always a good choice for anyone and everyone especially children. If you're in the Irvine area and love to grab your ice cream fix, consider coming to Handel's homemade ice cream shop and tell them your favorite flavors. They just might have yours in stock. I was happy that they had my classic chocolate readily available and there's a few chocolate inspired creations as well. Really nice and definitely recommended and even suggested if you're in the Irvine area and want a good dessert to end the work day or weekend evening. Or ice cream just because. Made my trip to Irvine worth it for sure. Handel's Ice cream shop is located in Irvine, California. It's physically located at 5365 Alton Parkway in the heart of Irvine. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. For myself though, it was paid for by my family because it was my birthday treat and it was great. So that's that. As far as parking goes, there's generous parking options here if you are interested and love to drive. If you're the type who loves public transportation, consider taking the necessary transportation options to get you to here in Irvine and then to Handel's Ice Cream shop. It's in a cozy part of the shopping center destination. Kinda funny how there's an ice cream shop here and a McDonald's next door. Maybe I guess McDonald's ice cream doesn't compare to Handel's and it's homemade ice cream and it's many flavors to choose from. And so, consider yourself informed that Handel's homemade ice cream shop is good for your soul. If you're ever in the Irvine area and need your ice cream daily fix, consider coming over to this part of Irvine and get in what you need the most. I guarantee it. The young workers know what they're doing, and they are kind doing it! No inside seating, but there is plenty of seating outside. The plaza offers several eateries for meals as well as dessert. There's also a Ralph's and CVS. Treat yourself and your family and friends!

But the worker was kind and even gave me 2 waffle cone chips and I appreciated that!

However, the little interaction there has been (greeting, receiving the drink, correcting a mistake I made when placing the order, etc.) has always been professional and friendly. In fact, I made a minor mistake regarding the topping of my drink and honestly should have just left it at that since it was not an error on their end. Instead, the gentleman saw my disappointment and offered to remake my drink with the correct topping (as well as giving me the incorrect one as a freebie). The kind gesture was very sweet of him and I wanted to share. I am definitely returning whenever I am in this general area.

I've never been here before so I went to the counter. There isn't a lot of space inside so people usually take their drinks/food to go. They did have cute merch inside though!
