i've been to this location a couple of times now to order an original bubble waffle and the passionfruit green tea with lychee, and it's always very delicious. the waffle comes out with super crispy edges, though i do wish it could be cooked a little more in the middle of the bubbles, since they sometimes seem a bit undercooked. the drinks have always been super refreshing though. i also came for their genshin collab a while back and was really impressed by both the drinks and the merch that was available at the time. it was a really fun little pop-up experience. i do wish there was seating inside, but it's more of a grab-and-go kind of place. there is plenty of seating outside though, which helps. the workers have mostly been very nice in my experience, though the last time i went they seemed a little overwhelmed and were a bit curt as a result. i don't fault them too much for it though, since there was a bit of a line that afternoon. all in all, it's a nice stop for a little sweet treat :) read more

After a less than desirable experience at Bengong Tea, I popped in right before closing and there was one person working. I said "Hello" and ordered the green tea with cheese foam ($6.50). I paid and he got straight to work on my order. I forgot to mention that I wanted less sugar and less ice but oh well. My husband asked for the code to the restroom and went to wash his hands. My order was ready straightaway and I made the mistake of shaking without checking that the lid had an open hole. Oops. I quickly wiped the counter and grabbed a straw to stir my drink. I've been a customer on and off for a while and have never really had a problem here, but recently the taste and quality of the drinks is abysmal. The seasonal strawberry oolong milk tea was really weird, but I was thinking it was just bad because it wasn't my taste. I got a very normal jasmine milk tea with boba today and... I don't know, my first sip tasted strongly of chemicals, and there were bits of... something(?) that was definitely neither the boba nor possible tea leaves. It was the grand opening weekend, so there was a line (about 10 people when I arrived, closer to 20 by the time I left) but it moved pretty quickly considering there was only one cashier. Even with the crowd, the line moved quickly and we got my drinks in around 7 minutes after ordering, which was impressive. We tried the mango green tea and the taro ube milk tea. They were delicious! Exactly what we expect from Happy Lemon - flavorful and refreshing. At $6.50+, they're a bit on the expensive side, though that seems to be the standard price these days. The BOGO deal for opening weekend brought them down to a much more reasonable $3, which is what boba should cost in my opinion. The staff were friendly considering how hectic it was. The place is small, and with the grand opening rush, things were definitely a bit crazy. They weren't able to customize sweetness levels for drinks during the rush, but luckily mine wasn't overly sweet anyway. Overall, Happy Lemon Tustin is a great addition to the area! read more
