Aw man. Tastea I remember was a spot that was pretty cool since they offered stevia as sweetener. But I have not tried it in quite a while. I decided to come back to try for their 2001 price deal, where they offer select drinks for around $2.45. ITEMS I TRIED: - STRAWBERRY ECSTEASY: unfortunately just a very artificial taste. I initially tried it with the stevia but it was too sweet, because it's already sweet from the strawberry. I asked for an adjustment, this time they did not sweeten at all, but it was still very artificial tasting and too sweet for my liking. PARKING: Good amount of parking in the plaza. SERVICE: super fast - I think the drink was pre-made to be honest. PRICE: decently priced these days but especially good during this promo. Overall, I'm sad to say that I won't be coming back. Even with a price this good, I'd rather pay a bit more for the many boba spots in Irvine. read more

Disappointing experience and a wasted lunch break. I stopped by 9/10/26 around late noon during my lunch break because I was really looking forward to trying the new mochi sago with strawberry milk tea. Unfortunately, I was told the mochi sago wasn't available at all to add in ANY drink. Oh thats disappointing. I then decided to order some chicken instead, only to be told that they weren't currently selling any food items AT ALL because they were too busy, which is INSANE especially during LUNCH hour. I understand that places can get busy, but it was disappointing to make the drive during my LIMITED lunch break only to find out that the items I wanted weren't available and that food wasn't being served AT ALL. The store seem unprepared to handle customers during a busy time of day. If certain drinks or food items aren't going to be available during lunch hours, it would be helpful to know beforehand. I ended up wasting my lunch break and leaving without getting anything I came for. Unfortunately, not a great experience. ***update from today's experience 9/15/26** I came back again hoping they would have at least something else I wanted. I saw there was a promotion for the Peach Me Sweetea but they seemed short staffed and very unprepared for the promotion. Tastea is and has always been a solid boba stop for your boba fix! The service is decent, the kids working there are quick to take your order and get your drink out. Don't expect a lot in terms of greetings or small talk but, then again that's the norm with the younger generation so no big deal. The ambiance is always chill, nothing crazy, you're in and out of there with what you need. The 32oz is always my go to, thai tea, with their signature green boba pearls! This location of Tastea has removed the dining chairs and tables inside and replaced it with a self-ordering kiosk. I always order through their app, so I don't find the use of a self-ordering kiosk. I love that they come up with new food and drinks for a limited time, it keeps things interesting. My go-to is their Great White. I've been coming to this Tastea for the past few years, as I really enjoy the Lychee Peachee with their signature green boba. However, after this last experience, I am sad to say I will no longer be a customer for this establishment. The service is friendly and quick, so while I appreciate that, I do not appreciate the changes they have made with drink customizations. As someone that is unable to drink cold stuff (iced) due to health reasons, I always ask for no ice so I would be able to enjoy the drink immediately, as opposed to having to wait until it becomes room temperature. If I'm already paying $7.80 for a 32oz, should I not be entitled to tea totalling 32oz? Apparently not. Please refer to my photo for what I received. The cup was basically 1/4 empty- considering the top is wider than the bottom. Tastea used to be able to accommodate no ice without an extra surcharge, so I suppose this is shrinkflation at its finest. Why should I need to pay $0.50-0.80 more for my drink to be filled where it's supposed to be filled? I'm already paying $7.80 for the tea! $7.80/32oz = $0.24/oz. I am sure my drink is missing more than just 2oz of tea. I will no longer be a customer. read more

If I could give 3.5 stars I would....Tastea excels on certain things and falls short on others. Tastea isn't my go to boba spot; if I'm in the area, or craving it I'll stop by. I will say they do have great promos if you have the app. First off the staff, I would give them 5 stars. Every time I've been to this location the staff are nothing but friendly and attentive whether I'm ordering at the counter or doing a pick up order. This time I did order on the app and pick up in store. Staff was very nice. For pricing, I would give it 4.5 stars. I would say their prices are fair. I ordered a medium (they only have 2 sizes 24 oz or 32 oz) wintermelon milk tea ($5.60) with boba ($.80). Total price $6.40. I do like that you can customize the sweetness and ice level without being charged extra for no ice in your drink. I ordered mine with light ice. Now for the drink itself...I would give it a 2.5 maybe 3 stars. I ordered the wintermelon milk tea, and unfortunately it tastes more like milk with a hint of wintermelon flavor. The boba was perfect, not too chewy and not too hard. I've always felt that Tastea's drinks, while tasty with high-quality tea and real fruit bits, are too sweet for my preference. I often order them with no added sweetness because even the light sweet option can be overwhelming, especially with the natural sweetness from the fruit. That said, they deserve credit for their portion sizes--their large drinks are some of the biggest I've seen. My go-to drinks are the Lychee Peachee and the Bootea Shaker. As for snacks, I recommend the Spuddies and popcorn chicken; Tastea still has some of the best popcorn chicken in the area. The service is quick, and I rarely have to wait long for my order. When I place an online order, everything is neatly packed with napkins and sauces and ready by the promised time, which I really appreciate. Our favorite is lychee and strawberry peach. They also have order online if you wanna ask that your order just come in and pick up definitely faster. Parking could be a pain when it's peak time. Yall I need to know what spice mix they add to their fries. I'm sure it's whatever they add to their popcorn chicken but I need to know! The buttload'a fries (yes that's the actual item name) never disappoints. And of course it pairs perfectly with their teas. Usually, I just get a green tea and I love that you can opt for low cal sweetener. We've ordered in store and for pickup and service is speedy. The staff are attentive as well and always greet us when we come up to the counter to pick up our order. This is a solid standard milk tea that uses non-dairy creamer, which I personally don't mind at all since it adds a nice mouthfeel. The tea flavor is pretty mild but roasted and slightly nutty. I ve been going to Tastea since back in old days at "The Block" in Orange. But this location has become our go-to when we're in OC. The location is small and they recently took out the interior tables too. They haven't changed their overall look in a while, which is somewhat comforting. I'm actually reviewing this for the Earl Grey Milk Tea but here is my all go-to's. Karate Chicken - 5 Star- If I'm even the slightest bit hungry we get an order. We've gone with #2 spice for years, very good heat that builds slowly. Crunchy, juicy and actually seasoned, this is what I compare other "popcorn" chicken to. Watermelon Heaven - 5 Star - This is a seasonal drink but they use fresh watermelon blended with ice for an amazing slushie. I get it "1/2 Sweet" when I order. iI's the best drink for hot weather. Black Iced Tea - 3 Star - I'm particular about the types of black tea that I consider good. The stronger the better, so Tastea black tea is on the light side for me. Earl Grey Milk Tea - 5 Star - I'm not sure if this is in their rotation but it just became my new favorite. I got a sunset drink which was peach and raspberry and even though it was black tea it wasn't astringent at all. They also offer a stevia option. More peachy with a bit of tang. I was a bit sad with the topping ratio, felt like they skimped out. Boba on the softer side. Ordering was fast. The popcorn chicken's basil isn't fried which takes away from the ambiance and it seemed like this time we got a bunch of crackling vs chicken pieces. Also we got insane level spicy which wasn't bad at all ( a buildable heat but not spicy) I think they just kinda smacked a ton of cayenne pepper cuz it was a bit powder, but works well with the sweet chili sauce. Think a 20oz iced coffee is a 20oz iced coffee? Nope. Think again. Asked for less ice today, and they stacked on a $1 (18%) surcharge without warning, apparently for "topping off the coffee." When asked, the staff's response was, would I rather have a 20oz coffee that does not actually fill the 20oz cup? Adding insult to injury, the up-charged iced coffee with less ice then came out tepid and lukewarm. Oh, and of course, the checkout terminal asks for a tip after that wonderful experience. It all started when I tried their Strawberry Milk Tea. I felt like the Trix Rabbit when he finally got to taste Trix after winning the '91 Tour De Brix Bicycle Race. It was a euphoric feeling. Then I tried their Matcha Milk Tea and I knew there was something special about this place. I needed to come back again and see if they truly are this consistently amazing with their drinks. My third drink was the Mango Milk Tea. That first sip solidified Tastea Irvine as the undisputed Milk Tea Champion of the world. Their sweetness hits right, the drinks are smooth, and the boba stays boba-ing. Flavors are top notch. I have yet to be disappointed by their drinks. Tastea has a wide array of fruit based teas and smoothies with a TON of customization options, including four sweetness levels, 3 ice levels, and several alternative milk/sweetener options. I especially recommend their watermelon drinks (summer specialty), but have heard the mango drinks are delicious as well. I had the buttload'a fries (5 spice level options!) and it came with not one, but TWO buttermilk ranches!! Delicious Asian style fry seasoning, crispy, and indeed did include a lot of fries. Ambiance is a bit small/loud- 4 two-person tables inside and a bench for waiting, but I recommend sitting at the little outdoor tables. Drinks are ready within 2-5 mins, but you'll need to wait 5-8 mins for any food. Worth the wait :) read more

Tastea keeps sending obvious signs they don't want you there. They used to close at 11, now 10. That's fine. However, they remove their trash can at 9 so you have to go outside to throw anything away. I went today and they got rid of all their chairs and tables to "make room for kiosks" so they don't have to take your order anymore. So now you can't even sit there and drink/eat what you ordered. Yummy drinks! The Peach Me Sweetea is so refreshing! I love this drink, it is sweet but not over the top. I can definitely drink a 32oz on my own without feeling guilty after. The Peach Me Sweetea has little bits of both strawberry and peach! So yummilish! The staff is very friendly and the inside of the shop is pretty sizable. It can fit 4 groups of 4 and also a waiting bench that can hold at least 8 people. Drinks came out fast! Can't go wrong. 20oz drinks were around $6 and 32oz drinks were around $8. read more

Service I've visited this location a few times and always been pleased with its customer service. The staff is usually upbeat and positive. The wait time was low to minimal, which is typical for the establishment. Quality This location's product is consistent with pretty much all of their stores. It's always great when you get what you expect from a company regardless of location. Tastea continues to prove its reliability as a chain. Store Like its quality, the store remains consistent with other locations in cleanliness, space, and customer flow. The one drawback, however, was their recent decision to remove all of the tables, forcing dine-in customers to eat outside. The employee I spoke with indicated that the tables were eliminated to accommodate the new self-order kiosk, which I feel could have been done with removing just 2 or even 3 of the 5ish tables. The rearrangement is surprising considering how much they were used by college students for studying, high school students passing through, and people on their lunch breaks, at least from my observation. In all, another location consistent with Tastea's high performance. The only reason why I can't give 5 stars is the table-removal. read more
