A pair of boys--who appeared to be twins came in after me, and despite there being a party ahead of me in line, they were immediately greeted by their barista friend. Not only did they get served before everyone else, but their drinks were presumably made free of charge as I didn't see them check-out at the cash register. It felt like they cut in line and received preferential treatment, which left me feeling uncomfortable and overlooked. I went last night about an hour before closing, because it was one of the only places nearby and I have been wanting to try it. To begin with, service lacked. The girl who took my order was kinda rude and making me feel rushed, mind you there was no line. Even worse, I noticed she was the shift lead. Her other employees were nicer.. Omgosh! What a gem! We've tried other Tasteas before and hands down, this is the best one yet. I'm not sure if it's because the fruits were in season, or if it was my drink maker, but either way, this was the most fresh and flavorful Peach Me Sweet Tea I've ever had from Tastea. I just had such a bad experience at the Tastea Irvine location. I stopped by around 9:30 PM to grab a boba tea for my long drive home. I told the cashier I wanted a 32oz Sunset Peach with two extra toppings. The barista making the drink heard me and started right away, which was great! But when I went to the pick-up window, another barista handed me a smaller-sized drink. I asked if it was the 32oz I ordered, and she said I had to pay extra to upsize. I totally get that, but I did order the 32oz from the start. She just repeated that I needed to pay the upsize charge. Also, I got charged for the smaller size, even though I clearly ordered a large. What made it worse was that before handing me the drink, I could see her checking the screen and realizing the mistake, since the first barista had already made the 32oz size. And pour the remaining to a small cup as snack. I get that mistakes happen, even from my part for not double check what I order, but it was handled really bad. A simple "Sorry about that" would've gone a long way. read more

Moving on. My husband ordered Yummy Gummy, which is a combination of three fruit flavors with peach bits at the bottom. This was the saving grace for our visit here as it was reportedly refreshing. I like the Covid safe layout inside the shop. There's a clear lane to enter through to the cashier at the back for ordering, and a clear exit lane to leave and wait for your drinks. There is a sign that tells you to wait outside until your name is displayed on the large television screen, at which point you reenter and pick up your order at the pick up counter near the front of the store. Full sweetness was a tad too sweet for me, and I might op for medium sweet next time! I love this place, but every so often the milk tea drinks are bitter somehow and 1/5 times the fries aren't crispy.
