I came here to pick up the signature Red Bean soup (4/5) which comes with two big scoops of taro, tanyuan (sesame filled mochi balls), sweet potato mochi, red bean, and boba all in a warm, sweetened red bean soup! I really enjoyed the toppings in this one with the tanyuan being filled with sweetened black sesame, the taro being lightly sweetened that went so well with the red bean soup, and the boba and sweet potato mochi consistency was so bouncy. I do wish they gave more of the sweet potato mochi balls or more of the mochi balls but the regular serving at $10/11 is a nice size for one person if hungry or two if just for dessert. Mine came out only warm and wish it was hotter but I just reheated it back at home. It'll bring a good refreshing coldness to your mouth at first, then followed by a slight bitterness from herbal, and sweetness from rock sugar (I think). I always love coming to Meet Fresh after eating in the Diamond Jamboree plaza for dessert. The store is spacious with plenty of seating. Even on a Tuesday night there was a lot of people eating here. We ordered the crystal mochi milk shaved ice which came out fast and was delicious and big enough for us to share amongst 4 girls. We were waiting on our hot items that we ordered - Hot Grass Jelly combo and Bubble waffle. We were waiting for almost 30 min and we never saw our number move out of the In Progress to Ready on the digital board. The staff wasn't calling out numbers either and where we were sitting we were far from their serving area. When we finally went to check up on our order, apparently it's been sitting out there for a long time and our hot items already cooled down. We asked for them to reheat our bubble waffle so at least it's warm. I think the staff wasn't updating any of the orders that it's ready on the board bc all the parties around us had to go check on their order. The food is still consistent but all the customers can only count on that order board to get our order. Honestly, I don't get how this location is still open. The manager is rude, the staff isn't friendly, and service is frustratingly slow. They constantly tell customers to use the kiosk and have even walked away mid-conversation. The bathroom is gross--FDA should come check it out. No dine-in option either because they never have enough staff. This should be one of the best locations given it's in a prime spot like Diamond Jamboree, but instead it's a mess. Same as the other location in Tustin, service was very slow even though they have five (5) associates working behind the counter and making dessert I stood there for a long time and no one even acknowledged my presence nor asked me what I needed, or how they can help me. I realized that they have a self-order kiosk but someone has been on it forever doing his orders for a table of four. I finally had to ask out loud to get their attention if I can order. It seems like they changed their menu recently as they don't have as many shaved ice bowls as they used to. I also noticed that the grass jelly bowl doesn't include a lot of the toppings it formerly did and I had to pay extra for the melon jelly which used to automatically come with the item (I believe it also used to come with boba, but I didn't pay extra for that this time). I think I prefer more variety with less of each item than giving more of the glutenous rice cubes. read more

There are puddles on the floor (fall hazard AND sanitation violation). The door and walls are black with dirt. The whole restroom smells like wet dog and is humid. It looks like the trash can has never been cleaned. The sink inside the restroom is gross, but there is another sink just outside the restroom door. This chain is known for more traditional Taiwanese shaved ice and chewy balls. We ordered the signature icy taro ball, which was a good amount for two people. I think this type of Taiwanese shaved ice is meant to be more on the light side, I prefer sweeter desserts. I wish they gave more of the creamer, I think we age it all very early and the bottom portion of the bowl did not have any. I would definitely get one of the bigger shaved ices since they have more flavor, but the portion size is pretty big. Diamond jamboree is busy as always and parking will be hard, but this store wasn't too crowded on a Wednesday evening. With the temperature hitting the 80s, we stopped by Meet Fresh for some shaved ice. The store is huge for a dessert shop with seating for 60+ people. Orders can be placed through 2 in-store digital panels or at the counter. Each order comes with customizations such as how much sugar and ice, plus you can also add extra toppings like rice ball, taro, jelly and boba at additional charges. Adding toppings can be fun, but the cost will add up quite quickly. We ordered the following: Icy Taro Ball Signature with 1/2 Sugar: The shaved ice was smooth, and all toppings were fresh and delicious. The reduced sugar option was perfect, refreshing without being overly sweet. Cold Tofu with Boba and Rice Balls: Tofu was silky soft and the rice balls and boba had a very nice texture. The downside: 30 minutes wait to get the orders when the store was not busy. Hopefully it was one those rare short staffed days. read more

This location generally isn't too busy depending on when you go. You order from a kiosk and service is generally not too slow. I had such a disappointing experience at Meet Fresh in Irvine, and honestly, I won't be returning. When you first walk in, they take your order quickly, but then the waiting begins... and it's way longer than it should be. I ended up waiting for over 40 minutes for a shaved ice dessert, which is a lot longer than I had expected. The most frustrating part was that no one was calling out numbers, so there was no way of knowing where I stood in line. More people were sitting around waiting than there were actually eating or drinking. After the long wait, I had to go up and ask for an update. Turns out, they had lost my order, and they had to make it from scratch at that point. Once we finally got the dessert, we noticed a strange "hair-like" object in the bowl that definitely wasn't part of the dessert. I didn't even want to eat anything at that point, and we ended up leaving after an hour of wasted time. There are plenty of other dessert spots in the plaza that offer way better service and a more pleasant experience. read more

The waffle takes a little bit longer to make but it's worth the wait. The best part is the end when the ice cream is melted at the bottom of the cup and you still have some waffle nuggets...it's my secret delicious ending (like the middle of a cinnamon roll). Our Signature tofu pudding was good today. A little lukewarm, but texture was silky, fresh, and consistent. Sadly we had a previous experience that was old and slightly sour. I liked that we were able to customize the order to no added sweetener, this balanced out sweetness from the toppings. I wish there was a way to customize base tofu pudding with different toppings, but I think you'd still have to pay for unwanted ones. It feels like they simplified the menu and took away options. It's also interesting to note the Irvine Meet Fresh offers cooked peanuts as a topping in lieu of red beans compared to the Tustin store. They have a loyalty program, but will change it on a whim without notification. You don't get your points transferred or compensated so always use your rewards ASAP bc you never know when you'll lose them. Lastly, they have very disgusting restrooms! The floors are wet, smelly, and gross. The toilets don't flush properly either. It makes you wonder how they treat the kitchen and handle food if they can't even keep the restrooms clean. Everything came out pretty quick on a busy Sunday night (which never happens for me) and the ordering experience on the kiosk was smooth. Gave it a 4/5 bc the sweet tofu looked a little less fresh than what I am normally used to. But now that meet fresh has become such a huge chain I think their quality has slightly started dropping in comparison to their prices. He was opening the sub-menus for the toppings of each and customizing the drinks. But then I see a cash register to the right and I'm thinking... (can't we just walk up and order from a human???) There were a lot of seats and tables, some large community tables, and some small for smaller parties. It took some minutes for the crew to make these items from scratch. They'll call out your number, although, young bro said you'll be notified by text. Nah, it didn't go like that. I was hearing them bark out the order numbers. I went to the pick up area to get my Fluffy winter melon tea and a bowl of customized red bean hot soup with 3 add-ons (taro small, taro reg, and extra red bean). My girl didn't even eat all of it. Generous serving of ice cream on top of sweetened shaved ice with other toppings on the side. In my experience, it hasn't been too busy, but the plaza it's located in can get crowded, making finding parking difficult. You generally order on a separate machine near the door and they are supposed to text you when your order is ready but most of the time, I just go up to the counter when I see it's ready. If you need anything, the peeps at the desk are helpful and nice. Small shop but plenty of tables inside and out. Great place for friends hasn't outs.
