The fam bam and I happened to be having dinner at Tenori in the University Center plaza, so I decided to pop in for a refreshing post-meal drink. Cute concept! We stopped by on a Tuesday evening, and there was just one worker manning the counter & making the drinks. He was friendly & attentive. There's cute seating inside, along with plenty of outdoor seating. I tend to gravitate toward fruity drinks, so naturally, I went with something from the Luminous category. The Pineapple Sunshine immediately caught my eye. I did have to make sure they didn't include the mango syrup since I'm allergic to mango (I know..it sucks!), but thankfully, the drink was still good & refreshing without it. I opt'd for 70% sweetness, which was perfect for me. I also liked that they used real ingredients, as I could definitely taste the pineapple & passion fruit. I couldn't quite make out what flavor the jelly was, but I really liked the texture ~ it was soft with just a lil chewiness. All in all, it was a refreshing drink for a hot summer day. Love myself a good crepe so I was really happy when owly opened. They don't have a big variety of crepes but I think the ones they do have are solid. I tried the old school crepe which has strawberry, banana, and Nutella topped with a crepe brulee type topping. It was good and definitely will soothe any rich sweet craving you may have! I have not tried their drinks yet but would love to come back and try. The inside is neat and has a playful atmosphere. Such a cute coffee shop! I ordered the Banana Matcha Latte and the Strawberry Banana Brûlée Crepe. The staff were friendly, and everything came out in about 10 minutes. The Banana Matcha Latte was good, but it didn't really stand out. I could barely taste the matcha, though the banana foam was delicious and tasted like real banana. I just wish it had been a little thicker. The Strawberry Banana Brûlée Crepe, on the other hand, was sooo good. Definitely worth ordering! Cute new boba shop in UTC! I arrived around 12pm on a Monday. The store had plenty of tables and seats but it was pretty empty. I ordered at the register and my drink came out a couple minutes later. Another boba shop at UTC but they also have crepes! Banana matcha was on the sweeter side even with the "less sweet" adjustment. I personally like my matcha to be on the stronger side, so to me, this drink was a little lacking of that. The banana cream was very good and pairs well with the matcha. Because of the sweetness of the banana, I personally would get this drink with "no sweet/sugar" next time. Guava Peach is a blended guava drink with peach bits. I got this with "no sweet/sugar". This drink is very refreshing. It was a bit icy at the beginning but my drink melted after sitting in my office and it was still great. Crepes smelled amazing but I didn't get a chance to try. Perhaps next time. Customer service was ok lol. They were there to do their job and didn't go out of their way to do anything beyond that. They seem to be a little co fused when I asked them if Guava Peach was a blended drink and they were like "no it's not and then said oh it is actually" lol. Finally got to try the newest boba shop at UTC that replaced Pink Pig! My friend and I came around 12:30pm and thankfully there wasn't a line out the door since the past few days whenever I passed by there was always a line outside. The ordering process was easy, you can just order with the staff member, and the person who took our order was nice. I got the Luminous crepe while my friend got the Old School. We also got drinks to pair with our crepes, which I had gotten the mango pomelo while my friend got the peach jasmine tea. Drinks came out pretty quickly, while the crepes did take a bit longer (to be expected). There were a few staff who focused on the drinks while the other staff did the crepes, so our number had to be called twice (so be alert if you order two different things). But I think we got everything within 15min which was good. Starting with the drinks, they were pretty good! For my mango pomelo, I got the least sugar (which they said was about 25% sweet) and it was just right. I liked the fresh mango flavor and the coconut milk went well with it. It also comes with some agar boba which was nice as well. I'm glad that this met my expectations because I know nowadays a lot of drink places have this type of drink. For my friend's drink, she got less sugar (50%) and it was refreshing. The sweetness mostly comes from the peach bits, so I definitely recommend mixing it thoroughly because the first sip was a bit on the tart side. As for the crepes, I will say it's just okay, wasn't anything special. The first few bites were good because all the toppings balanced each other out (for Luminous, I enjoyed the mango and peach bits as well as the mango ice cream), but towards the end, it kind of got way too sweet with the custard cream. I struggled to finish because it was so sweet (but also because I got full pretty quickly). It also got really soggy by the end. I will also say that although the packaging was cute, it was kind of hard to eat the rest of it without ripping the paper cone, which got kind of messy. Overall, a solid drink place at UTC! Their concept of being a tea and crepe place is unique and the interior was pretty cute and had a good amount of seating (there were tables with chairs as well as two bigger couch chairs). However, personally, I would just stick to getting their drinks, and only rarely would I come for just the crepes (unless I share with someone). I would definitely come back again to try their other drinks! read more

It had been a hot one at junior high summer camp. We wanted a drink and a snack. The place was fuller than on our last visit. Summer school is happening at UCI for young STEM students in Cosmos program. There was only one person taking orders and making the orders. Daughter ordered a mango sticky rice smoothie and buttery crepe, while I ordered the Osmanthus oolong milk tea latte. Luckily, another staff member arrived and orders were quickly filled. We got our full order 18 minutes after ordering. The plain buttery crepe was warm, crispy, and good. I liked the sweet flavor of the Osmanthus oolong milk tea latte better than the jasmine latte I had last time. Daughter liked the mango pomelo with the citrus flavor she had last time over the mango sticky rice smoothie. The mango sticky rice smoothie was creamy though and had good flavor. This is located at the University Center in Irvine, right across from the UCI campus. They just recently opened up and the interior is modern and updated compared to the last business that was here. They have a good variety of drinks as well, but I always judge based off their milk tea as that is one of my favorite drinks in any tea shop. I got their Dirty Milk Tea, hoping it would be a very bold and packed with dense flavors, and also the Peach Jasmine Tea. The drinks were both just OK. Even though I shaked that cup before I popped it with a straw, I didn't get the bold and dense flavor I was hoping to even with half ice. Same with the peach Jasmine, it felt a little too watered down like they directly put hot tea and mixed with ice instead of having it ready and fridged before making the drink. This was my third visit to Owly. It was great! The drinks are refreshing and the staff is very friendly. The inside has many comfy seating areas. I got the peach jasmine, smashed lime, and smashed lime jasmine latte. They were all very refreshing and they don't taste syrupy. My go-to has been the peach jasmine because I love the bits of peach in it, but their two lime drinks are tasty. The smashed lime drink is perfect for those who love an Arnold Palmer or lemonade. The smashed lime jasmine latte was a pleasant surprise! I was worried it would be heavy on the milk tea taste (not a fan of milk tea) but it wasn't. It reminded me of a Brazilian lemonade or an orange creamsicle! Sweetness levels - generally 100% is perfect it you like your drinks on the sweeter side (like me), and 75% great as well. I got the peach jasmine in 100% sweetness but I would try 75% next time since peach is naturally sweet. I think the other drinks are best with 100% sweet because lime is tart. I waited about 10 minutes for my drinks which was no big deal since there was a big group in front of me before I got there. I'm glad I lessened the sweetness because the boba is very sweet! It's a solid drink, as it's essentially a boba milk tea with a cream top. I would get the old school drinks, but I'm not sure if they offer other toppings. Inside of the shop was pretty clean, and the music isn't too loud or annoying (unless you despise pop music).
