Coming from Irvine, I picked up six pastries from Lady M Cake Boutique and honestly, they were scrumptious. My favorites were definitely the lavender, pistachio, and the Italian chocolate. The lavender was the most unique and would absolutely be the one I bring to wow new people. The pistachio was rich, creamy, and really well balanced. The Italian chocolate was deeply chocolatey, exactly how I like it, and I finished the whole thing in one sitting. The rose flavor is definitely for people who truly enjoy rose desserts. The strawberry was the only one that did not fully match my expectations from a high end bakery. The tiramisu was decent, more cream-forward and lighter on the coffee flavor than I expected. Overall, these pastries are definitely on the sweeter, cream-based side, and honestly, that is exactly what made them so good to me. I do not want desserts to be less sweet, I want them to feel indulgent and perfect, and these did. The quality is consistent every time I stopped by. One of the most recent additions was the Baklava Miles Crepes and the Dubai Chocolates Miles Crepes. Dubai Chocolates weren't that impressive with me before but they made a lot of senses on the crepes and the textures were very interesting. Similar to the Baklava Miles Crepes as well. The Strawberry Matcha, Original, Matcha, as well as the Earl Grey are their usual staples so the tastes were very consistent. Always my top choice whenever craving for crepes. I'm very concerned with all the negative reviews saying a slice costs $15+. Anyone saying that cannot math. Currently, their most expensive slice is $12.65 and at 7.75% tax that is $13.63...which is not over $15. Second, yes these are expensive because they are annoying to make (I tried one time and almost lost my mind because of the layering), so you're paying a ton to not do the work. Ok now that is out of the way, this shop is part of a shopping center with limited parking so you may need to circle a bit. The shop was very clean and staff was attentive. My biggest complaint is that they use gelatin in almost all their crepe cakes, so I was stuck with one flavor. I had ordered the 2026 Year of the Horse Gift Set online for pick up the next day. Parking was very difficult to find during lunch hour. The lady who helped me with my pick up order showed every element of the gift set to me: the note card, the holographic illusion of the galloping horse, the 4 different crepe biscuits, the pouch with vegan leather horse bag charm, and the confetti red envelopes. My daughter who had accompanied me picked up slices of the Pistachio Mille Crepe, illy Matcha Coffee Mille Crepe, Orange Mille Crepe, Green Tea Mille Crepe, Checkers, and Strawberry Shortcake. The staff is nice but it seems like they're all new. They also overbrewed and overheated the Jasmine tea as I've had better at cheap dim sum takeout restaurants. It's also not enough tea for $8. The guava cake was delicious but their new melon cake with the rice krispy base was not great. Not enough melon, the krispy was soggy and it was mostly vanilla custard. I recently tried the Lady M Cake shop (inside Michelson Park Plaza). Surprisingly, for peak post-lunch hour at 1PM, the shop looks deserted and no one was at the counter. I had to "called out" an energetic "Hello?!?!", before a young man popped his head out behind an enclosed area. It's called a boutique for a reason. :) So, while the presentation and flavor are undeniably exquisite, I do feel the price is a bit much. At $12 - $15 per slice, where the price was not clearly visible, it feels a little absurd, especially considering the portion size. Although, I can appreciate the labor to create the crepe-layers...the base product is still very simple. I was expecting a higher than normal price point but was still shocked as what was displayed on the register. :)). I had just come from having lunch at the restaurant next door, and the price of a slice of cake is equivalent to the cost of a full meal so I'm unsure how to justify the cost and now understand why NO ONE was in nor came into the store. The quality is good, and if you're looking to indulge in something special, it's a great choice. However, the service wasn't exceptional, and I couldn't help but laugh when I was charged 10 cents for a bag. I mean give me the bag for FREE! It was an overall average experience. Checkers cake, absolutely amazing. 10/10, worth every penny. It looks like a basic sponge cake, but it's so yummy and the chocolate is so decadent it's literally the best cake I've ever had in my whole life. Yuzu matcha mille crepe, not so much. The crepe layers feel slightly tough, almost stale-ish, and the matcha and yuzu filling gave it an additional slimey texture that was kinda off putting when combined together. Yuzu and matcha flavoring was also a weird combo, but we chose it for novelty and they delivered. Definitely mostly yuzu with a hint of matcha. We bought 3 slices cost us $33 dollars. During my visit, I experienced what I perceived to be unprofessional and inappropriate treatment from one of their staff. First I would like to take picture & video for those nice slices and one of the staff lady wearing black suit told me to step out not near the cake. No video record. This interaction left me feeling disrespectful and uncomfortable which is not what I would expect from a brand with your reputation. I am particularly concerned because the behavior I experienced felt discriminatory with unfair customer service. Moreover, my baby needs to change diaper and one of the staff came right at my husband to say we don't have table diaper change here please go out. Its smelling. They have 2 restrooms for men / women but disrespect the baby. Its so inconvenient and rude. If you would like to have a fancy slice of cake with nice customer services, go somewhere else like Yu cake. And the most of important thing, don't let your baby stay inside if smelling & they will KICK you OUT. Terrible ! 6/2/2024 Lavender Matcha Mille Crêpes  June seasonal flavor. Good balance of matcha and lavender flavors. Nothing overpowers the other. I let the cake sit out before eating, so overall the experience was good. Yes, there's still a lot of cream with each pastry cream on top of each layer. So it is heavy. But the flavors are good. Dassai Blue Mille Crêpes You can taste the clean sake flavor. The sake kasu pastry cream is a bit boozy. The pastry cream has a light vanilla flavor with the sake kasu added. There is a thin sponge layer between the crêpe layers, but didn't notice it. There's also a white chocolate sake kasu glaze, but it is nonexistent in flavor. Everything is one note, as they want the sake to shine. Personally, not my favorite and would not recommend. This is a special flavor they've added, so try before it's gone. This is a limited edition cake and not sure if it will be back. Earl Grey Crêpe Biscuits Wanted to try this for a long time. This  was sold out the last time I tried to purchase and was not restocked for awhile. So jumped at the chance to try it when I saw its first availability. Love the presentation with eight individually wrapped crêpe biscuits in an clear-top metal tin box. The crêpe biscuits were pleasantly crispy as you bite into it. It's a lovely texture in your mouth. However, the Earl Grey-infused cream was lacking. I love Earl Grey, but the flavor was slightly bitter in flavor. The cream was thick as the it needed to hold up to the crêpe biscuit. Overall, it was okay. Maybe other flavors are better. But wouldn't recommend this flavor. Customer Service Overall experience was pleasant and service was quick. But there was no line either, so that is why service was good overall. The past couple of times I was here, I've received no smiles and no acknowledgment, even when I walked in for pickup. Purchased 2 sponge cakes, strawberry shortcake and checkers. Both are very delicious and the checkers wasn't overly rich or sweet. Expensive slice of cake but definitely a really good sweet treat. We were treated politely with good customer service. Large indoor eating area, spacious enough to stay awhile without interrupting others or being interrupted. Outdoor seating is also available. Only "negative" comment I would say is that we had brought in a drink from another establishment we had walked from. We wanted to dine in but were told it was allowed because we had brought in our own drinks (it doesn't appear they sell drinks) and outside drinks aren't allowed inside.
