Stopped by to get beef rolled to go. The place is packed and waiting time is about 20-30mins long. Easy parking and staff are nice and friendly. Ordered online so just stopped by for pickup. Food here is consistently and flavorful. Perfect for eating in the car or next day.
Seven Grams is good for a quick casual lunch bite. The menu feels very snacky with no real stand out dishes. My kiddo enjoyed the spicy wontons, it's their chili sauce that shines. We also had the golden beef noodle soup. I wish they had a non spicy option because it was too spicy for us. The drinks on the other hand are amazing. I had the passion fruit green tea and really liked it. It had real passion fruit in there, not just powder. Kiddo also enjoyed their matcha strawberry drink. It was very creamy and rich. The drinks were pretty cheap, I think mine was under $5 and the matcha was like $6.50.
Had heard good things about this place and was happy I had the chance to try it! I had a party of 2 around 2:30PM on a Sunday. There was a crowd of people waiting outside so I was a bit nervous that it would take really long. But we added our name to the waitlist on the iPad outside and we were sat in less than 30 minutes (when we went on the list, we were party 13). The wait went by super fast! By the time we finished our meal, there were lots of open seats. I first heard of this place as a "copycat Din Tai Fung". I actually think it's better to think of this place as another Taiwanese restaurant that serves similar food to DTF, but not a copycat. Although some of the popular items are the same (XLBs for example) the restaurants are definitely different. Firstly, the service here is SO FAST. And all the servers were really kind! We ordered our food and it felt like everything came out within MINUTES of each other. By the time we had all our savory dishes, I had only taken one bite out of the first dish. That's how fast it was! Haha We ended up ordering: Spicy XLBs, Beef Roll, Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup, and Taro XLBs for dessert. Everything was DELICIOUS! My husband's favorite was the Beef Roll, while I think my favorite may have been the soup. The Spicy XLBs (4/5) were great! They felt quite large as I ALMOST had to eat them in two bites (but like why would I ever do that). Flavor was great and I thought there was actually very little spice in these. Compared to DTF'x XLBs, I thought these were just as juicy, but less ginger-forward (which made it feel less flavorful), and more sweet. I was personally missing some acid and wanted a bit more salt cuz it was a tad sweet. The Beef Rolls were pretty good too (4.25/5)! Nice and crispy. Even though it's pan fried, it felt light because of the vegetables. And I know this is weird to say, but the combination of beef, hoison sauce, and veggies almost tasted like pho flavors...but crispy? Yummy! I personally again wanted a bit more salt. But I'd definitely order again. Now for my favorite, the Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup (4.5/5). WOOWWEEE! She's spicy! And I have a good spice tolerance so beware. I really loved the flavor of the broth. It was spicy and also had a really clean flavor. It looked like it would be a watery broth but WRONG! It was so flavorful. I loved the chewy noodles too and even the noodles on their own were spicy cuz they clung onto the broth. A really delicious soup! I'd love to eat this on a cold winter's day or when I'm sick. Delicious! The Taro XLBs (3.9/4) were pretty good too, but skippable. They weren't too sweet, which was nice. They had a lovely consistency and good taro flavor. But compared to everything else, they weren't that special. Overall, a really delicious restaurant! I'd definitely come here if I was craving XLBs/Taiwanese food.
I was introduced here by a couple of friends, and Seven Grams did NOT miss! We were a big group, which means we got to try multiple different things out. We waited one hour on my visit, but that is to be expected as the restaurant is quite small. Beef Rolls (5/5): We got two orders of these, and it was our favorite for a reason. Crispy and flaky wrap on the outside and it was packed with flavor. It was very satisfying to eat! Scallion Pancakes (3.5/5): They were plain but that is to be expected, I didn't taste much scallion. It needed the sauce of course! Spicy Wontons (4/5): These are solid and the chili oil does pack a lot of heat. I would say they are on the spicier side, just wish there was a little more depth to it. Seven Grams XLB (4/5): Juicy and flavorful! Not the absolute best I've had, but still worth ordering. Golden Beef Noodle Soup (5/5): This bowl right here was amazing. Green leafy kale paired with the extra hearty soup was what made this bowl a standout dish for me. 100% would order this alone! Mapo Tofu (5/5): Yummy silky tofu cubes with the minced meat sauce were delicious in every bite! I had no other complaints, but this dish gets very filling easily. Seriously, this place is one of my favorite places in Tustin. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service one inside is efficient, and the ambience is a bit noisy and packed, but this place is popular for a reason.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll definitely revisit this spot when I get the chance.
Been to Seven Grams multiple times, primarily for the delicious Xiao long bao. There is a Yelp waitlist, and you can also join in person. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating consider is around 10 tables plus hjgh top stools, so if you are a large group the wait can be long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stopped by yesterday to try out some new items, which were a mixed bag. First the Cheese Chicken Roll was surprisingly good. Imagine the Beef Roll and swap things around to get something off of a fancy KFC menu. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. It comes with ketchup and the same spicy thousand island dressing as the chicken roll. Lastly we were let down by the Pan Fried Shrimp&Chicken Dumplings (Whole Wheat). The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.
I've wanted to try this place for a long time and it comes highly recommended by friends and family. I've tried coming here for early dinner but the line is also very long. Instead, we came when it just opened and over Memorial weekend, expecting most people to be out of town. They accept waitlist via Yelp. Even though there was a wait, at least it wasn't very long. We ordered beef wrap, scallion, xiao long bao, and golden prime beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup definitely has a kick to it. It was a little too spicy for my daughter so she ate mostly the other three items. Their xiao long bao was very comparable to Din Tai Fung. Everything was very good. Normally, my daughter and I prefer the beef wrap with no cucumber, but we didn't even mind it at all as it gives a nice crunch and not too overpowering. We will definitely come back and try more items.
We came here on a Saturday for dinner. It was pretty busy, but we didn't wait that long. We only ordered three dishes: ham fried rice, cheese chicken roll and their seven grams xlb. Ham fried rice was really good, I really liked it. Seven grams xlb was pretty good as well, it had a little sweetness on it which I really liked. The cheese chicken roll was ordered by my bf, he said it was okay. Overall it was pretty decent food.
A more affordable option if you're wanting XLB, but you're not DTF with emptying the bank. This entire plaza is like a dead zone for cell service, so stay near the restaurant or you could risk having your name removed from the waitlist. Food came out quickly and the staff were nice, but the pan fried dumplings were more squishy than they were crispy so it didn't really hit. I also feel like the beef rolls were a little more on the blander side. My boyfriend really liked the noodles and said he'd order them again, but I'd probably just stick to the XLB.

To avoid long wait times, try getting "in line" on yelp or making a reservation. They're busy. Once you're seated, service is very quick and dishes come out pretty fast. Our server Brian and Marco were great and attentive. The XLB were my favorite of the 4 things we had. The beef rolls were tasty and very large, but I prefer the steamed dumplings. The house chili oil and house vinegar were good, but I think it would be better if there was a spicy version or something spicier.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy but the wait wasn't too long though maybe 25 mins. Passion fruit green tea and this was definitely my favorite thing I ordered that day the drink was so light, refreshing, flavorful, but not too sweet the passion fruit seeds being in the drink was annoying though. (4/5) Spicy XLB they came out quick but I wished they were hotter they were just warm but delicious flavor and filling sadly was not spicy though no kick no heat at all. (3/5) Beef rolls nice and crispy lots of scallions and the cucumbers added a nice fresh aspect and crunch but needed more sauce. (3/5) Pan fried dumplings took the longest to come out were crispy but not that flavorful again very filling though. (2/5) Golden prime beef noodle soup I'm sorry but this was just not for my taste at all I can't even describe what flavor the soup was something I have never had before very unique. The noodles were nice and chewy but again I'm expecting soup to be hot but it just came out warm. (1/5) They had some sauce and chili oil on the table and I made a mix but it did not help add flavor to any of the items. I ordered too much and the leftover beef rolls and pan fried dumplings reheated well in the air fryer.
SEVEN GRAMS @ TUSTIN The food here was SUPER yummy and authentic! We joined the waitlist on yelp and after we got ordered, the food came out pretty fast! I just wish they remembered our water, since we had to remind twice. Overall 5/5!
I've done take out and I've eaten inside the restaurant. I went around 12PM? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside there's a lot of families and the tables are a little close together but it's not bothering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was fast and they were constantly checking on my friend and i if we were ready. Food came out in about 10 minutes~, even though we were talking a lot the food was still really hot. We got the scallion oil noodles (I forgot what they're called), gyudon bowl, and 2 servings of dumplings! My friend and I were stuffed and we eat a lottttt. We also had their drinks which weren't bad for $6.50. He had the strawberry matcha and I had the jasmine tea with crystal boba! For take out, the food was packed neatly & the set of condiments and utensils they provide is really good. It felt a little more "higher end" of a take out place. My friends and I ordered about the same things we did inside the restaurant, cucumber salad, and the wonton with chili oil. Our favorite was the chili oil wontons & we regret not ordering more. Fed three people!

10/10 Crab XLB - Love these! They're so juicy and bursting with flavor. They add some corn on the outside which is a funny addition lol but no complaints here! 10/10 Wonton W/ Chili Sauce - This is one of my favorites here. The chili sauce is great and it's literally not spicy at all. 10/10 Scallion Pancake - My favorite thing to get here! It's super crunchy. I do feel like it's missing a dipping sauce so I just made my own with the sauces already on the table. 10/10 Pan Fried Dumplings - Probably my least favorite out of the four items. They're pretty basic and generic as far as dumplings go but still good. Cost - Crab XLB $11.00, Scallion Pancake $6.00, Wonton W/ Chili Sauce $9.00, Pan Fried Dumplings $13.50. read more
We ordered the pan fried dumplings (pork), beef roll, wonton with chili sauce, and the xiao long bao. Everything was okay and I wasn't blown away by any of the dishes. We got a passionfruit drink and I think that was the only thing we enjoyed from all of the things we ordered. Service wasn't the best either and it felt like a lot of the dishes were lacking. I wasn't a huge fan and won't be coming back. read more

We ordered several dishes since there were four of us, and everything was enjoyable. The dumplings were especially delicious. The xiao long bao were even better than the well-known dumpling chain whose name ends in "Fung." Prices were also very reasonable. We also tried the ham fried rice. While I'm not a huge fan of the amount of corn in it, it was still flavorful. The steamed pork dumplings and wonton soup were tasty as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was great, and the ambiance was nice despite the restaurant being very busy--we had to join the waitlist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was our first time here, and we'll definitely be back. read more
We recently dined at Seven Grams. We had: Beef rolls: very good. Potatoes strings with shrimp: very good. Pig ears: I didn't try it but my sister loved it. Not my kind of food. :) Spicy pork paste over noodles: very good. Ham fried rice: good. Golden Prime beef noodles soup: very spicy and tasty. Southeast Asian Seafood Noodles Soup: very good, with a hint of basil, lime, and some chili pepper. Several types of xiao long bao: good. Definitely a must return since everything was delicious. Great little spot! It's a bit on the cozy side, so expect a 15-20 minute wait during peak times, but it's completely worth it. Everything we ordered was fantastic--the scallion oil noodles were super flavorful, the pan-fried dumplings had that perfect crispy bottom, and the fried cutlet was extra crispy and delicious with the dipping sauce. Plus, having free parking right outside makes coming here super easy. Will definitely be back! read more

Back again as it is one of my mom's favorite places. We could order so much more but there was only 2 of us. So we limited us to the fried rice, chicken gyoza, xlb,and cucumber salad. So good! First, I went into the store around 5 PM. There was no wait and the tables were decently booked. The service was decent nothing special but they did come to my table when I asked. I've been hearing a lot of good things about Seven Grams lately, and finally decided to try it. On a Saturday, even at around 7:45 there was a good half hour wait. But there is plenty to do in the plaza to keep you busy so that was okay. The restaurant is def on the smaller side, and their menu seemed quite small too. I've heard a lot of people compare them to DTF, so - had to try their XLB. Hubby and I ordered - Pork pan fried dumplings, Pork XLB, Mapo Tofu, Beef Roll, and their Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup. Everything was delicious! XLB was flavorful and juicy, Mapo Tofu had that nice numbing spice, beef roll was super tasty, pan fried dumplings were good - my only complaint was that I wish the bottoms would have stayed crispy as they kind of softened, though they still retained good flavor - and gotta save the best for last - the beef noodle soup. The noodles alone were very flavorful - and the soup had a lot of spice, but it was SO tasty. I almost didn't order it because we had so much food already, but I'm so glad we decided to get it. I understand why there's always a line out the door now, and I'll say it's def worth the hype. If you haven't checked this place out yet, please do! I know we'll be coming back for more! read more

It's always a pleasure to be in Orange County...and when you are. This place is a must for some yummy dumplings, beef noodle soup and the beef wraps...and unfortunately, those dishes were are before I could snap that picture...next time Yelpers. You know how it is sometimes.... The customer service here has always been tip top. Great seating and location. You have bar seating and table seating which gives you an option on how you want to consume your dumplings. Do not past up these place. Dumplings down, this place is delicious... Thank you 7G's. Amazing and reasonably priced Chinese food! The XLB were delicious and came out pipping hot in the steamers. The spicy pork over noodles was one of my personal favorites--reminded me of noodles from Sichuan! Absolutely loved this place and will definitely be returning read more
I literally come here just to eat the Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup. A little different than your typical beef noodle soup. There are mustard greens in there (which I love!). But if you don't like that taste, I would not recommend it. It can be a bit spicy, so I usually just ask them to put the chili on the side. I've also had some of their other dishes, such as beef wrap, XLB, wontons in chili sauces, and tomato beef soup. All relatively good. But as I mentioned, I literally just come here to eat the golden prime beef noodle soup. I've had this dish at a few other restaurants, and it just doesn't compare to this place. read more

A great spot for dumplings in the Tustin area. They use a Yelp waitlist that you are sometimes only able to access from their screen at the restaurant. It's a very popular spot so I would recommend getting there early to get a spot on the list. There's plenty of parking in the plaza. Their seating is all indoors with some high top and some regular tables. The service is very quick and the staff are friendly. We had a person in our group with a food allergy and they helped make sure that we didn't order anything that could cause a reaction. The food comes out fairly quickly and everything is delicious. The pan fried dumplings were my favorite this time around. I also really love their beef rolls and potato string shrimp. They give you a good amount of food for the price. Everything that they have is very good and it's good to go with a bigger group so you can try more dishes. read more
I ordered to to and got the ham fried rice, potato string shrimp and cheese chicken roll. I went around 2pm to pick up my food and the place was so packed I could barely get in the door. There were people waiting to be seated but they were well staffed. I didn't have to wait long for someone to ask what I needed and give me my food. The ham fried rice smelled really good and is very filling. It is sprinkled with some sesame seeds and green onion and has a very nice presentation, even in a to go box. The potato string shrimp was also visually appealing. It was slightly crunchy due to the potato string which appeared to be fried, but it tasted a bit bland. I enjoy it's uniqueness and it's fun to eat. The cheese chicken roll was very greasy. It wasn't quite what I expected. It looked like some cheese was melted inside but I didn't taste much of it. The chicken inside is fried and has a nice crunch though. They provided some chilli oil sauce which goes nicely with everything. First time to come here for lunch. The wait was shorter being a weekday, and lunch. Service is still good. Place nice and clean, but small for the demand, especially on weekends /dinner. I know we've always enjoyed this place the few times we've been here and I've been reminded again! We love everything that we ordered! We got the spicy xiao long bao which is flavorful and delish, the spicy wonton which I cannot get enough of, especially its sauce. We of course got the cucumber salad too, refreshing and yummy! I can't remember if this is the first time I've tried their sesame balls, but I was surprised how delicious they were, that most likely it's the first time. They're smaller, but it only means there's not much glutinous rice flour and enough filling! Just writing this review makes my mouth water. I can't wait to go back! read more
I came here over the weekend for lunch and there was a long wait. You can only waitlist in person. It took about 40 minutes or longer before my party got seated. We ordered the soup dumplings, crab soup dumplings, pan fried dumplings, spicy wontons, cucumber salad, and tomato beef noodle soup. I enjoyed the soup dumplings the best. There's a reason why this place is always packed and have a long wait during peak hours. Their menu looks pretty standard but their dishes are very unique and have great flavors! I got their potato string shrimp which had a nice crunch texture with an evenly cooked shrimp on the inside. For their main, I got the Golden prime beef noodle which is on the spicy side but oddly addicting! The veggie in the dish is kale, something you don't commonly see in asian noodle dishes. I also got the Tomato prime beef noodle which has a nice tomato soup that is evenly balanced without it being too sour or overwhelming. Service here is great, staff are all attentive and the dishes come out rather sticky quickly! Highly recommend this place for some good eats. read more

Definitely some of the best and most authentic xiao long bao (XLB) in Orange County! My friends and I were extremely satisfied with the food, and every server was welcoming and attentive. We were also able to witness the closing routine where the staff scrubbed every part of the restaurant down, which made us more confident about the restaurants cleanliness! Loved the simplicity of the place & menu! The Beef Roll 6pcs was super crispy, sweet/savory, and definitely a favorite. Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup was super flavorful, and a perfect touch for those rainy days. Kale was a nice touch & pairing everything with the house chili oil/crisps was fantastic. Great DTF dupe--cheaper prices with comparable quality. No chocolate dumplings here, but the taro dumplings were a great surprise--bean-y texture with strong taro taste, very yummy if you like taro! What's also unique about this place is the spicy pork XLB--great flavor although less juicy in comparison to DTF. The chili oil wontons were more sweet than spicy but still flavorful. Beef rolls were pretty solid, but not as sweet/saucy as Mama Lu's. Overall, I'd come back. We waited for 30min for our party of 4 on a Sunday night because DTF's waitlist was already closed 4hr before closing time. Initially was a bummer, but we ended up getting 9 orders AND 4 drinks for $108 (before tip) here, which is impossible at DTF! Great deal! read more

Service dogs yes, but I don't think dogs would be very comfortable in the restaurant. It's usually very busy and cramped.
When is Dim Sum served?
They only have dumplings, noodles, beef roll, and side dishes...no dim sum. They open from M-Sat:11-9:30pm & Sunday: 11-9pm
Do the scallion pancakes contain egg?
I don't think they have egg. Not completely sure, but traditional scallion pancake is usually just flour, scallion, salt, water, oil
