Friendly service + warm ambience + right next to TeabyDo! We ordered the tomato and tom-yum soup flavor. Tom-yum had a little bit of coconut curry flavor for some reason, but my friend liked it. I enjoyed the tomato broth although it was a little sweet. Portion sizing is not as big as it looks. Fried dough sticks were also hot and had nice texture.

Small but so bright and clean! The service is super friendly and nice. There is only one woman serving yet she makes sure everyone is well taken care of! The food is spot on delicious. Traditional flavors and dishes. The Laotan Sauerkraut Fish had the perfect level of spicy and sour so as not to overpower the fish. Also enjoyed the golden soup beef. It was a notch spiced but also well flavored and balanced. The Linyi chicken is super tender and flavorful. I would for sure recommend trying. Ended the meal with the coconut lava balls! Oh so delicious and fun to eat with the crunchy outside and the lava inside. Can't wait to bring my family as the portions are big enough to share!

I love a good Chinese fish dish and this place delivers! Ordering is easy with the QR code at the table and utensils and napkins can be found inside a drawer at your table. The whole restaurant was serviced by one friendly and efficient lady, so major kudos to her! We had the Green Peppercorn Fish which is my personal fave since it comes with a variety of toppings and pickled veggies. Also had the Golden Beef Soup which was also delicious. Highly recommend getting the perfectly fried crispy pork to change up the texture.

If life feels a little spicy lately, YONNY Fish With You in Irvine will somehow make it better... by making it even spicier. They're known for their authentic Sichuan sauerkraut fish, and honestly, the broth is so rich, sour, and comforting that it feels like emotional support soup. The fish is super tender, the portions are huge, and suddenly sharing food becomes a trust exercise. People also love the crispy fried pork, stirred fried chicken, sliced beef sauerkraut and grilled octopus that somehow disappear before the table can agree to order another one. They're open until 1:30 AM too, because apparently healing and spicy food decisions both happen after midnight. Overall, it's the perfect spot for late-night cravings, catching up with friends, or quietly recovering from the week with a bowl of spicy happiness.

Our first time visiting Yonny. Tried the traditional laotan fish - i really enjoyed the flavor, kind of sour, but not too much. It went well with rice. The stir fried chicken was also very flavorful and tender. Efficient service

very good authentic chinese suancai fish with big portions! one dish is enough for two people (~22-35$). we got the signature and laotan for 3 people and took almost a whole soup worth home. order and pay at the kiosk - utencils are located in a drawer under the table.

Sauerkraut fish speciality store finally opened its Irvine location. Dishes come in two sizes, small is good for single person and large is recommended for 2-3 ppl. One Free rice per person. We ordered the sauerkraut fish in large with add on of vegetable and tofu skin. It was huge! Also tried the coconut curry fish which is full of southeast Asian flavor and golden soup beef slices with delicious broth. Both dishes are single serving but big enough to feed two people. Appetizers and desserts are not to be missed. Fried spicy crispy pork, rice cakes with brown sugar. Coconut lava balls were gone in minutes.

I dropped in here on a Sunday right in the middle of the day, and the place was completely packed. It is a tiny spot, but that is usually the best sign when it comes to authentic Szechuan food. The service is honestly what made the experience so great. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind. Even with every single table full, they went out of their way to check on everyone and genuinely cared that we were enjoying the food. You do not always get that kind of hospitality in busy restaurants. As for the food, the portions are huge and served in these massive bowls that are perfect for sharing. Everything is very reasonably priced, especially since it comes with rice. If you love heat, this is your place. The Szechuan spice level is legit, with that perfect numbing peppercorn kick that builds as you eat. The broth is incredibly flavorful, vibrant, and packed with a serious punch. It is a small space, but they deliver big flavor and amazing service. I will definitely be back

Yonny is a Chinese chain famous for their suancai fish aka sauerkraut fish (which sounds kind of weird until I realized it was just fish with pickled cabbage). I came for lunch and was surprised to see that the restaurant was completely full, even though they just opened a few weeks ago. I ordered their most popular dish - Traditional Laotan Suancai Fish. It had a one pepper spice level, so I was a little worried it might be too much for me, but it turned out to be perfect. The regular bowl looks deceptively large and is a generously portioned for one person. Rice, either white or purple, comes with it. Loved the flavor of the dish. You can get it with basa fish or pay $2 for snakehead (I chose basa and was perfetctly happy). If you like that numbing peppercorn experience, there's their second most popular dish, the Green Peppercorn Suancai Fish (two pepper spice level), perfect for my husband. Service was attentive (though there are some kinks - they brought by a couple of dishes that weren't ours). The restaurant is very clean, bright and modern. They did a great job of remodeling the dark Indian restaurant that was here previously. While we were eating, my husband was already thinking about what he was going to order on our next visit. Yonny was the best meal I've had in a long time. Look forward to going back!

Came here because my friend recommended this place and it was good! I got the scallion suancai with snakehead as the fish. The broth was flavorful and the fish was smooth and tender. Very generous portions and service is good! They also gave complimentary drinks which was a nice bonus!

Yay no need to drive to Rowland! But the menu here is smaller in terms of apps $54?? For two meals and an app with leftovers ! Rice refills are free :0 Idk how healthy this is .. essentially it's fish hot pot, so there's a chance there's a good amount of salt in it, but I only drank two small cups of water ?? Wasn't that oily to me. Flavorful and light enough for Chinese food! I got #2 best seller, and tho it's good, their #1 is amazing! The broth for #1 is deeper/richer, almost like a beefy taste. Didn't seem that spicy compared to #2. The thicker flat mung bean noodles are delicious with the broth. #2 is a little more fresh/sour tasting but it wasn't overwhelming with tingle. I found mung bean noodles in mine and it went really well with the soup. For the fish, we went with the basa fish. Easy to eat! Fried pork didn't seem overly battered, but could use better marinade or a heavier seasoning. You can order via QR code, or order with the workers. Accepts Amex

Yonny Fish With You is definitely one of the best Sichuan experiences I've ever had. I'm still thinking about the delicious food the next day. Their fish is fresh, the beef was tender, and the fried pork did not get soggy even while in the broth! I got 3 different soups, and all 3 broths had the perfect balance of savory, tangy, spicy, and numbing. The soups I had were all comforting, bold, and flavorful. The portions were large. The grilled squid was the best I've had in years. The coconut lava balls were a good "not too sweet" way to end the meal. My server Sammi was fantastic. Highly recommend, and I already can't wait to go back!

A standout dish was the pork pancake, which was layered almost like a savory crepe. The exterior was crispy and slightly oily. Plenty of flavor packed into each bite mmm I also ordered the spicy sauerkraut lamb hot pot. It comes with flames & reminded me a bit of Boiling Point. Lots of napa cabbage in the broth. The lamb was excellently fatty... tender and soft! I've recently had another hot pot place with lean lamb so this was on point. Portions were generous and the price felt very reasonable. My favorite dish of the meal was the fatty beef with scallions. The beef was indeed fatty and rich flavor, with what I think was a nice subtle Shaoxing wine or cooking wine flavor. The natural sweetness of the onions balanced the savory, salty sauce nicely.

We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. So besides the food being good, I would say excellent service is also huge plus here. Don't be fooled with the automated ordering and robot delivering the food into thinking there is no service. The people behind the counter are awesome! Hope management takes care of this new chef issue quickly since their food quality is the main reason people come here. There was a night and day difference between the original food we got today, and the replacement!

It had been a couple of months since we were last there and my parents and my daughter had been asking to go back and were really looking forward to eating there. However, we were so disappointed when we went back 2 weeks ago! The menu changed a bit, which was fine, and all our usual dishes were still there. We did notice that the cooks have changed and the original Cantonese chef was not there. I think the kitchen staff really changed how the flavors of the dishes for the worst. My 7yo daughter used to love their shrimp fried rice, but as soon as the fried rice came out, the first thing she said was "how come it looks so different from before." Not only did it look different, it was BURNT. It was like they fried the rice in a burnt wok so every grain of rice was coated in tiny black burnt bits. It was essentially inedible. They also just topped the rice with some tastless blanched shrimp instead of actually stir frying the shrimp into the rice. The green onion pancake used to be flakey with layers and expectedly oily for this dish, but the pancake we got this time was essentially a tasteless tortilla. It literally looked and tasted like a tortilla. No layers, flakes or oil at all and was the worst green onion pancake I've ever had anywhere. The fish with black bean sauce was acceptable, but it was definitely not the same. It tasted more like American Chinese flavors instead of the previous authentic Cantonese flavors. The only dish that I thought was still good was the stir fried eggplants, although my parents said it also tasted more Americanized. We are so sad that the food here has changed so much and it was one of the rare places my Cantonese dad actually said tasted authentically Cantonese in the area. The restaurant was full during our latest vist but we did notice that 90% of the diners and people ordering take-out were non-Asians. When we came previously, there was a good mix of Asian and non-Asian diners, so it seems like the clientele have shifted, which might explain the flavor changes or vice versa. The staff is still very nice and friendly, but it seems like the robot server has been laid off. I don't think we will be coming back again unfortunately as the food is no longer what we loved before. However, they seemed to still be doing well so others must still like it.

The Laziji (Spicy Fried Chicken) is piled high with dried chilies and has that perfect, addictive crispy crunch. If you want a dry pot, the Dry Pot Chicken Wings are awesome. The wings are perfectly seasoned and come tossed with lotus root and crinkle-cut potatoes that soak up all the savory, numbing spices. The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side so you'll be close to your neighbors not that it was an issue personally. My buddy and I ordered our items and shared with each other for a good full experience. We got the three-in-one noodles medium heat and the Ma Hu Beef noodles with mild heat alongside the cucumbers with medium heat as an appetizer. Cucumbers were very fresh! However, they really were just cucumbers with a little heat on them so they weren't anything too special. Once the main entrees came in, I couldn't stop myself from digging in! I forgot to take a picture until after some damage was done to our meals. Three-in-one was so flavorful and sweet with the noodles becoming incredibly soft after having mixed it all together. The star of the show for me though was the Ma Hu Beef noodles. The beef was remarkably tender and delicious and the noodles had a firmer texture that complimented with the flavors. Oddly enough, the mild heat on the Ma Hu Beef was spicier than the medium heat three-in-one! If you find yourself in the mood for Biangbiang noodles, this is definitely the spot to go to. On a side unrelated note about the parking which did not influence my review; the parking here is rough. It's consistently packed so watch out for that. There is a structure across the street that allows parking for the food court. I parked in the structure but I had a bad experience because since it's also parking for the residents above, the gate was closed on us after 8pm. I had to wait for a vehicle to come out and open the gate for not only just me but for multiple other people that had also parked in the structure!Just something to keep in mind. Met with friends from all over So Cal for an event down South. After the event our friend found a…read morenoodle house in Santa Ana, odd find location but lets go ... Massive parking lot so that was easy, one friend went ahead and let them know we had 10 incoming. They made room and we sat immediately. One of the spots that you scan a menu at the table and you review, order and pay all in the app. I was really not familiar with the line up and went with the "House Special Beef Pot Roodle" (Roodles are their rice noodles). It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

I decided to give this place a try because I heard their noodles were very authentic, and as…read moresomeone who loves noodles, I was excited to try it. I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.
