Great service! Large round tables with lazy Susan, perfect for sharing. Modern Asian vibe - a packed house with large families. All our choices were absolutely delicious! This place is worth going out of your way to visit! We will be back.

Craving Peking duck so badly, so went straight to Meizhou Dongpo! Loved the roast duck with cucumber & scallions, plus the Dongpo pork belly !love the fattiness! Also tried the spicy chili stir-fried chicken . Great food, fresh dishes, and a beautiful interior! 想食鴨加東坡肉?一定要嚟!!! IG: socalhkfoodies

Our favorite place for Peking Duck in Orange County. They are very consistent with their duck quality and it comes with the thin pancake wrappers individually separated so it's easy to peel apart when you are wrapping your duck. We added a Duck soup this recent visit, and it's a small bowl meant for 2-3 people but can be shared by more if you just want a taste. I've been here many times with friends for birthday celebrations and everyone goes home full and happy. We always order the full Duck and the other dishes will vary based on who I'm eating with. My favorite is the Serrano Pepper beef and Dongpo pork. My friends like the eggplant (which is delicious but very oily), the mapo tofu with beef, and the sweet & sour fish (not my favorite because it's all fried and can't really taste the fish...but it is beautifully presented). They are very accommodating when you bring your own birthday cake, and will store it for you, bring you plates, forks, knife, and lighter for the candles. They also allow you to bring home the duck bones if you ask. Then I get to enjoy my own duck soup at home the next day!

August 7, 2026 Approx. 6 PM OVERVIEW: There are literally almost 2000 reviews on this establishment already. So I'll try to be short and candid. PROS: - This is the BEST Chinese restaurant in Irvine - Thus said, it's upscale, with an upscale clientele, upscale atmosphere and upscale pricing. - Like others have already said, the Peking Duck is their pièce de résistance. Order it if you want the full dining experience here. - They treat their guests very well CONS: - Upscale pricing SUMMARY; Come here on special occasions like a date, business dinner or party. The more the merrier !!!

The service is always excellent!!!!! The food is good but overpriced in my opinion. A super reliable eat and you know what youre getting, but if you wanna save a couple bucks look elsewhere. The interior is great with ample and comfortable seating and its always a joy to eat here.

Meizhou Dongpo isn't like your typical Chinese Restaurant and you can taste the difference in the food! We ate here on a Sunday around 12 pm and it was barely starting to fill up with people. We ordered chicken potstickers, wonton soup, chicken fried rice, mongolian beef, & the crispy duck. Everything was flavorful & cooked right. The food also wasn't too oily either. I will say though price range is a tad bit higher than what i'd like to pay for, but i get it for the quality you get. Overall, I would like to come back and try different menu items.

We went here with a fairly large party and the inside was clean and had a modern design. The service was alright, we spent awhile trying to flag someone down to get our order. They also brought out our food in a weird order where the vegetables came at the end. We also were the only table without a lazy susan, so it made it uncomfortable to share dishes with everyone passing the dishes around. We ordered the whole duck, but compared to other restaurants, you are definitely not getting the entire duck. The flavor on the duck is average too, not super flavorful. The best dishes of what we got was the pork belly with preserved veggies which was cooked well and very tender. We also enjoyed the mapo tofu with beef. It has a sichuan spice flavor to it but definitely flavorful. The chili oil here is good! We also enjoyed the green beans and fried rice.

What's a staycation without checking out some new and memorable eats? I've been wanting to try Peking duck for quite some time, and this was actually my first experience with it. After doing some research, I was led here -- and the reviews definitely steered me in the right direction. The meal was delicious. From the crispy yet succulent duck to the perfectly prepared eggplant and comforting soup, every dish felt thoughtfully made with care and pride. Their menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Sichuan and Northern Chinese specialties, so there's plenty to explore beyond the signature dishes. The interior design and overall ambiance added to the experience and made you feel transported to China. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and parking was plentiful, which is always a plus in Irvine. My one piece of constructive feedback is that the menu does feel a bit overpriced. Still, the quality, atmosphere, and overall experience made it a worthwhile visit.

I came here specifically for the peking duck and it did not disappoint! I love how juicy and flavorful it was and it was not dry at all. I also really enjoyed the orange chicken which was the perfect crispiness and the Mongolian beef, which was so tender and had plenty of onions! The soup dumplings are the perfect bites of juicy flavor.

i came here with my friends on a tuesday evening and were seated pretty quickly! the dining room was decorated sooo nicely, which was cool. i LOVE spicy food--especially the mala that you can get in sichuan cuisine, so this place was an absolute hit with me! they're known for their peking duck (which we didn't get this time, but plan to next time) and authentic sichuan dishes, and they definitely delivered. the mapo tofu was a crowd favorite at our table! nom-list: - dandan noodles - wok fried string beans - mapo tofu (with beef) - wonton soup - dongpo pork belly with preserved vegetable - meizhou fried rice (shrimp) - fried buns with condensed milk instagram: @mndys.world

This is definitely my favorite spot to get peking duck! The duck was crispy, flavorful, and the highlight of the meal. The service was amazing and the restaurant itself is decorated beautifully.

I'm honestly impressed by the quality and price here. We got the Peking duck combo along with the ribs and fish, and the total worked out to around $30 per person. They have several dishes for just $9.90, which is an amazing deal for the portion and flavor. Everything we ordered was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. It's the kind of place where you can order a lot of different dishes without spending a fortune. And knowing that the restaurant has been featured by Michelin for three years in a row makes it even more impressive. Whether you're coming with family or a group of friends, this is definitely a place I would recommend. Great food + great value! The two reviews now cover the same highlights from different angles, with  one emphasizing the food experience and the other focusing on value and variety for a more natural pair of Yelp posts.

Nice atmosphere, yet food is a bit underwhelming. Visited with my cousins for lunch earlier this month when I was in Southern California. For 3 people, we chose the $105 lunch special which included their Meizhou roast duck, steamed garlic shrimp with vermicelli noodles and cordyceps, and wok fried green beans. Also added an additional dish, their beef filet with black pepper ($30) as well. Technique and wok hei is there, yet flavor and seasoning was lacking for my taste and what I'd expect for this type of regional/specialty cuisine. Can be a bit pricey for what you get food-wise. But I did enjoy and appreciate the inside decor and theme of a Chinese library/calligraphy study room. Located in a 99 Ranch grocery shopping plaza with plenty of parking.

The twice cooked pork was a little salty but came with generous ratio of pork to veggies. The hot and sour soup was piping and well flavored. We noticed that she…read moregave a larger table to customers she seemed familiar with, while assigning us a much smaller table even though we had the same number of people. What made it even more frustrating was that the restaurant was practically empty at the time, so there was clearly no issue with the restaurant being too busy or running out of available tables. The way we were treated felt unfair and very disrespectful. If you're willing to spend money just to be judged and treated differently based on who you are, this is definitely the place for you. Highly recommended!!!! To clarify the situation: When we entered the restaurant, it was clearly not a busy hour. There were plenty of empty tables available. If your policy is that certain four-person tables are reserved exclusively for customers who make reservations in advance, then that policy should be clearly stated to customers rather than being applied selectively. When we arrived, there was a customer dining alone who was seated at a table for three. Later, another customer who appeared to be familiar with the short female server also came in alone and was given a larger three-person table. So just to clarify: were all of these tables reserved in advance as well? Or does the "reservation" rule only apply when it comes to certain customers? No one wants to sit at a tiny table in the middle of the aisle when there isn't even enough space to comfortably fit four dishes. We are not complaining simply because we were given a smaller table. The issue is the obvious inconsistency in how the seating was handled. If there is a legitimate seating policy, it should be applied consistently to everyone--not selectively depending on who the customer is.

I would not order it again. Needs a sauce too. The vinegar from the table wasn't helping. 137 1000layer pancake - 3/5 This was made fresh and it's puffy! ---probably exactly what it's supposed to be. It, too, needs a special sauce. There just is no flavor by itself. Plus, I only counted 900 layers. Just kidding. I would skip next time. The service here is great. Food comes out fast.

Came to Zhangliang Malatang for an early dinner and loved it. Perfect for times when you want…read moresomething casual, no frills, and a full hotpot experience would be too much food. For the first-timers, this is how the process works: you are compiling ingredients to make a bowl of single-serve hotpot soup that gets cooked for you while you wait. Start at the front by the entrance by grabbing a bowl and some tongs, then you proceed through each station (meat, seafood, vegetables) by adding ingredients to your bowl until you have all the food you want to eat. Be creative with it--that's a big part of what makes this fun! At checkout, your custom mix will be boiled in the back in a broth of your choice. There are 5 different broth flavors and you choose how spicy you like your soup, if at all. For payment, note that contactless payment is preferred. Once cooked, your soup will be brought out to you. While it cooks, you find a table and make your own dipping sauce at the sauce station in the corner. For me, I chose the bone broth and I definitely recommend it! It was rich and flavorful--perfect complement to my lamb, seafood, and Napa cabbage bowl. About the restaurant itself, this is a popular spot so be prepared for a crowd! The stations with the ingredients were clean and well kept and the ingredients themselves are quality and fresh. Notably, many of the ingredients needed refilling--especially in the veggie and dipping sauce areas--with several being completely out. This is understandable considering how busy they get but I do wish they were more proactive with replenishing the ingredients. Small issue though. In the dining area, the tables were all wiped down promptly between guests. Service was polite and friendly and the staff is bilingual, which is a plus. Overall great experience, and I can't wait to go back!

Went to the SD location couple months back and really enjoyed it but this one just falls a little…read moreshort. Good amount of seating inside and friendly workers. However everything seems not the most clean. Veggies seem a little wilted and some of the cilantro was brown. Also the water jugs were just kind of out in the open with no cover. Had slight smell inside the restaurant too. Food itself and broth were good.
