Leaving this review after an almost bad experience to help the restaurant or anyone else that may have eaten here today. 5 stars for fixing the problem immediately for us. We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. So besides the food being good, I would say excellent service is also huge plus here. Don't be fooled with the automated ordering and robot delivering the food into thinking there is no service. The people behind the counter are awesome! Hope management takes care of this new chef issue quickly since their food quality is the main reason people come here. We have eaten at EverSpring many times ever since they opened and my family loved it because it tasted like authentic cantonese dishes. It had been a couple of months since we were last there and my parents and my daughter had been asking to go back and were really looking forward to eating there. However, we were so disappointed when we went back 2 weeks ago! The menu changed a bit, which was fine, and all our usual dishes were still there. We did notice that the cooks have changed and the original Cantonese chef was not there. I think the kitchen staff really changed how the flavors of the dishes for the worst. My 7yo daughter used to love their shrimp fried rice, but as soon as the fried rice came out, the first thing she said was "how come it looks so different from before." Not only did it look different, it was BURNT. It was like they fried the rice in a burnt wok so every grain of rice was coated in tiny black burnt bits. It was essentially inedible. They also just topped the rice with some tastless blanched shrimp instead of actually stir frying the shrimp into the rice. The green onion pancake used to be flakey with layers and expectedly oily for this dish, but the pancake we got this time was essentially a tasteless tortilla. It literally looked and tasted like a tortilla. No layers, flakes or oil at all and was the worst green onion pancake I've ever had anywhere. The fish with black bean sauce was acceptable, but it was definitely not the same. It tasted more like American Chinese flavors instead of the previous authentic Cantonese flavors. The only dish that I thought was still good was the stir fried eggplants, although my parents said it also tasted more Americanized. We are so sad that the food here has changed so much and it was one of the rare places my Cantonese dad actually said tasted authentically Cantonese in the area. The restaurant was full during our latest vist but we did notice that 90% of the diners and people ordering take-out were non-Asians. When we came previously, there was a good mix of Asian and non-Asian diners, so it seems like the clientele have shifted, which might explain the flavor changes or vice versa. The staff is still very nice and friendly, but it seems like the robot server has been laid off. Modern Chinese, Ancient Disappointment EverSpring looks great, sounds great, and is priced like it plans to deliver something memorable. Unfortunately, what I'll remember most is how quickly my excitement turned into polite disappointment. The salt and pepper pork chops were...bold. And by bold I mean shockingly salty, like the chef was trying to preserve them for winter. I've had salt and pepper chops more times than I can count, and this version tasted nothing like any of them. Overcooked, oddly flavored, and just completely off. If this was a creative interpretation, creativity may have gone a step too far. Then there was the crispy beef. I say this with sincerity: it was inedible. Not "I'm picky" inedible--burned-breading-that-tastes-like-toasted-mistakes inedible. Each bite delivered a charming note of scorched regret, like someone deep-fried a crouton and called it a day. I stopped eating not because I was full, but because my taste buds filed an HR complaint. And look, if this were cheap comfort food, I'd shrug it off. But this is sit-up-straight-when-the-bill-arrives pricing. For what we paid, I expected at least one dish to make me say, "Okay, this works." That moment never came. Excellent restaurant with wonderful customer service. The food was great! I stop at the nearby Dairy Queen occasionally and I finally tried EverSpring as well. I am so glad that I did. Overall food hit the spot for my cravings but did not wow me in flavor. Crispy beef: as the name suggests, the beef definitely is crispy. It did not have much flavor itself tho. The best Chinese restaurant in Tustin by far! The prices are very fair and the food is very good! We have ordered a lot from the menu over the past visits and have been happy with all the dishes. We usually order the signature crispy beef dish, chicken chow mein, honey walnut shrimp, and we go back and fourthe between the sweet n sour chicken and the orange chicken. We usually call our order ahead of time and it is always ready in the time that they quote us. The food is so freshly made it still tastes very fresh even when we take it to go and eat it at home. I've been curious about this place for a while since the pictures and reviews seemed good but was apprehensive about the prices for the quantity and quality of food. I finally tried it because I had a coupon for a free veggie spring roll appetizer with a purchase of $20 or more. The fast casual ambiance was very contemporary, and you can tell they lean into this with their self order kiosks and robot delivery. But to use the coupon, I ended up ordering with the cashier, which was nice to ask questions about the portion size. The rest of the experience was unfortunately downhill. They forgot to give us a number, so the robot delivered our free spring rolls to the wrong table, which the other customers did not report. It took a while for the workers to notice and eventually send a new order our way. Having the time to observe this for a while, it generally seemed like the robot has more of a gimmick than a tool to increase their efficiency. Food-wise, we were also not impressed. While the flavor was acceptable, the texture of the orange chicken was pretty abysmal. A large proportion of the dish was just the batter, so despite the outer appearance, the slim niblets of dry chicken breast were overpowered by the stale and extremely tough exterior. Moreover, the portion size was not as large as we were led to believe, especially given the price. The steamed white rice that it came with was also extremely dry and looked like it might have been old. (0/5) The veggie spring rolls were underwhelming and rather starchy, especially because the filling was on the sparse side. This was a let down because the photos of the shrimp egg roll looked much more promising, but maybe I ordered wrong. (2/5) But! The pork soup dumplings saved the meal. Came out fresh enough to burn our mouths, with a welcoming curl of steam when you open the basket. Surprisingly, they were not in individual tins and actually looked plump and supple, with a delicate wrap that held its own and wasn't sweet (a personal preference over more fragrant dough). Filling flavor is nothing to write home about, your standard morsel of slightly tough salty pork, but the quality of this XLB was leagues above the rest of the meal. Sort of on the pricey side, but worth a try if you're here already. (4/5) Overall, it was a rocky experience, and maybe the highs and lows eclipsed each other. DoorDash was great delivering in a timely manner. The entree flavors were good overall, the orange spicy chicken had a nice citrus kick, and the mixed vegetables with tofu were really tasty. The noodles had a variety of shrimp, chicken and beef great flavor too. The beef and broccoli was good but the beef was a little tough, and the wor wonton soup was decent but I would have loved more vegetables and shrimp. The food that arrived was inedible. The chicken was rock hard and was either reused from many hours ago or had just been overcooked way beyond what it should have. I had never received Chinese food bad to this level. Unfortunately, had to throw it all away. I'm sure whoever was working the kitchen was aware of this problem and just decided to make our food with the worst chicken sitting four hours towards the end of their shift and not make new chicken for our order. They have the classics like kung pao chicken, orange chicken, and broccoli beef but throw in traditional items like crispy beef and mapo tofu. We ordered a huge spread and they were all very good except the chili pork wontons which didn't seem like they were fully cooked. But everything else was so good that I couldn't stop eating it. My favorites were the kung pao chicken, black bean fish filet, mapo tofu and crispy beef. Everything was packed with flavor and served piping hot by both the waitress and the robot, who was adorable. It's located in the shopping center The Market Place so there is plenty of parking. You can either order with the cashier up front or use the giant touch screens in the front. However, if you want to take advantage of the buy one get 50% off daily special, you'll need to order with the cashier. We ended up ordering the sweet chili eggplant to get the Mongolian beef for 50% off. So it was only $24 for two dishes (tip and tax extra). Where are you going to find a good lunch for that price these days? The food came out quickly and portion sizes were good. Rice comes with the dish unlike at other restaurants. The eggplant was sweet and savory with a slight hint of spice. The beef also had pretty good flavor and lots of green onions which I like. There is a self service area for you to grab utensils and extra plates if needed. The restaurant was very clean, same with the restrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room for improvement. I wanted to try this place, since I was in the area. I'm a huge fan of Asian Cuisine. First off, entering this place you can tell they are trying to go the modern route, large kiosks to walk up and place your order, and I saw a robot server delivering food. The ambiance of clean and well spaced; I'm assuming it's because they need a clear path for the robot server to deliver to tables. I was with my niece and nephew. We order d three Entrée and a kids meal. I was surprised when I saw the total was over $80 for lunch. I guess they have to recoup the costs of that robot ;) I had the Kung Pao Chicken. It was good, the chicken was well cooked, the sauce was flavorful, and the veggies and peanuts tasted good as well. It only comes with a cup of white rice. For the price, I would think it should cost less. The service was ok. After a few minutes of staring at the ordering kiosk with a glazed look on my face, they guy behind the counter said I could use the kiosk or go up to the counter to order. I knew it was too good to be true. When I first discovered the place with 50% lunch specials with full entrees that were delicious and very filling, better than anything else out there, I thought I had struck gold, and clearly I did. I only came a few times, but not even a week or two after, I see that they have removed the deal and it only applies if you order another full price appetizer or entree, which, considering it's a lunch special deal, makes it pretty unfriendly for the exact profile of diner I am, which is usually a single diner and it really is disappointing to feel like I've been singled out as the type of customer that's not wanted, even if I doubt me coming a couple of times was what led to this promotion being stealthily changed though I couldn't count it out. It had a little kick to it, and orange peels in them. Not my favorite orange chicken, I think it was decent. The shrimp spring rolls were okay, I felt like they had more vegetables than shrimp. Wontons were cooked well, drenched in mildly spicy chili oil, and topped with green onions. I liked that it wasn't the tingly type of spice. A yummy appetizer for sure. Egg Custard Sesame Balls (~$9 for 3pc): 5/5. These were great! They're served piping hot and filled with liquid gold. The dough had a nice, chewy texture. The filling is a yolky, not-too-runny, perfectly sweetened custard with a hint of salt. Tasty when fresh, at room temp, or even warmed up the next day. My only gripes are that they're pretty pricey and a bit greasy. Service: 5/5. Andy was welcoming and helpful. He patiently answered all my questions and offered to take my order over the counter when both self-serve kiosks were busy. Food came out in a decent time considering the many orders they received during lunchtime. Atmosphere: 5/5. For a weekday lunch rush, it wasn't crowded inside or outside, so you can peacefully enjoy your meal there. Interior was clean and modern. This place is not like a Panda Express. Their food taste like authentic dine-in quality even though it's set up as a fast food and take out kind of place. I came with my family here and ordered a bunch of dishes. I got the crispy beef, mapo tofu, XLB, honey walnut shrimp, spicy chili chicken, Santa's favorite kids meal, and the egg custard sesame balls. Overall, the presentation of the food was very nice. Their white rice was good quality rice. My favorite was the spicier chili chicken because it has Szechuan peppercorn flavor in it and I love Szechuan style. Their mapo tofu was also unique as they also incorporate black beans in their sauce and also has a Szechuan spice to it. The quality of the food was just impressive like their honey walnut shrimp. My son enjoyed the kid's meal as it included a little fun holiday gift box. That kids meal seems more like an adult portion meal to me. The place is clean and well lit. They use the robot to help bring out the dishes. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly. The price is also pretty good. I left this place quite impressed. I with they can open another spot closer to me. I would take advantage their daily special deals. read more

My first experience here was amazing and I wanted my Godson to experience it. This time was underwhelming disappointing and downright unacceptable! We waited over an hour for our food. Our fried rice got cold because they brought that out first and waited. 30 more minutes for three spring rolls. Then had to wait again 30 minutes for some damn dumplings. The robot served the first party that was already seated, but the robot never served us. Then a family of three came in next to my party of two and they were served before us as well. There was no apology for the food being late my godson never got to see the robot. It was the worst $45 I ever spent in my whole entire life. I would definitely recommend do not go here. read more

Never been here, but the kids recommended it for me and my wife to eat here. Did not disappoint. In fact, it passed expectations. You from an automated screen and you take a number sensor device. You choose your own table to sit at and place the device on it. There is a small area where you get your utensils, plates, condiments, and drinks. Then you will hear the robot announcer that it is coming to the table number and it brings the food to you. The robot has a few shelves on it so it tells you which is your food. It was so cool. We got pineapple shrimp, Kung pow chicken, sauté green beans, and rice. All were very good and we had leftovers that tasted just as good the next day. Definitely come again. read more

Great spot to grab a quick, casual bite of Chinese food! Simple process from ordering on the kiosk, grabbing a number, seating yourself, and getting food delivered straight to your table by a robotic server. My sister and I opted for their Stir Fried String Beans, Mongolian Chicken, Chili Pork Wonton, Crispy Beef, Popcorn Chicken, and Crispy Eggplant. All dishes were quite delicious, where the Chili Pork Wonton took first place. Most prominant flavor, close to authentic flavor. Everything else was nothing special, or noticeable. Will probably stop by in the future if I am shopping at The Market Place. read more
