    Bullfrog in green chillies oil.
    Betty M.

Wanted to try out bullfrog dishes at this place with one of the locals. The place is pretty cute. Small and not too many tables so get there early! The service was fast and the food was good. We ordered the bullfrog in green chillies oil, tongue & stomach cold dish and cucumber salad to cool down the spiciness of the chilies oils a Dish. Different flavors explode in your mouth on the first bite of the bullfrog in chillies oil. The bullfrog meat tastes like chicken meat and nothing special. The side dish of tongue and stomach is quite tasty. Only wish that it would served warm instead of cold. They charge $2 per small bowl of rice so order wisely.

南加州神隱家常味中餐 Underrated Chinese spot. Grandma-level good Just have to call this place hidden -- you can't even find their Instagram, and there's no fancy design. But it's seriously underrated. Every dish feels like something grandma would make for a family dinner spread Look at the sour soup beef(酸菜牛肉湯) -- so much beef, the kind of portion that says, "Eat more, don't starve." There's also beef shank(牛腱) and braised pork rice(滷肉飯 ). Big portions and kid-friendly. For dessert: osmanthus tofu pudding(桂花豆腐花) -- simple, special, and full of that "grandma's love" comfort. Hidden Gem in Tustin! I stumbled upon this amazing Sichuan restaurant -- Shufeng Kitchen 蜀风小厨 -- and what a find! I came with the kids, planning to grab a few small bites, but once I saw the mala hot pot on the menu, I just couldn't resist I'm already planning to come back for the bullfrog pot next time! Zhong Dumplings (钟水饺) Thin wrappers, juicy filling, and that signature red chili oil aroma -- spicy, garlicky, slightly sweet, and totally addictive! Wontons in Chicken Broth This bowl was pure comfort -- rich yet refreshing chicken soup, tender wontons with generous filling... perfect for warming you up Couple's Sliced Beef and Tripe (夫妻肺片) A classic done right! Tender beef slices tossed with peanuts, cilantro, and just the right balance of numbing spice and heat -- a perfect dish to go with rice Spicy Mala Hot Pot (香辣冒菜锅) Loved this one! The broth was aromatic and flavorful without being greasy, with a layered heat that's not your typical mala tang base. Lots of ingredients, generous portions -- super satisfying Five-Spice Beef Fried Rice (五香牛肉炒饭) Chopped braised beef with carrots, peas, and eggs -- simple, hearty, and nostalgic. It tasted just like homemade comfort food. Shrimp & Fried Dough with Yogurt (酸奶虾滑油条) Crispy fried dough wrapped around shrimp, topped with yogurt and fruit -- a creative mix of sweet, savory, and tangy. The kids loved it! The restaurant is clean and comfortable, dishes come out quickly, and portions are generous. Around $20 per person, and everything tasted authentically Sichuan -- bold, spicy, fragrant, and full of flavor. They also offer takeout if you want to bring some dishes home to add to your dinner table Highly recommend for anyone craving real Sichuan cuisine in Orange County!

The grill fish is really good. We had the garlic style because we can't eat spicy! The skin of the fish is crispy and does not have much bone. We also had the SiChuan cold noodle and it's authentic. The restaurant pretty simple and clean. The server was nice and came by many time.

Osmanthus tea tofu dessert $5 10/5! Absolutely incredible. If you're a fan of cold, gently sweet, refreshing dessert with a subtle floral undertone, this is it. I found the osmanthus flavor to be wonderful and not so in my face. I loved it through and through. One portion is shareable, and I took home the other half to enjoy. Chili wontons 4/5 Bae really enjoyed these, I found they weren't as addictive as the house dumps, but still yummy regardless. Dan Dan noodles 4/5 $9ish Love the texture of the noodles! They're springy and emulate one of my fav sgv spots for noodle chew. It has a slight Szechuan numbingness to it, but not one where it takes over your tongue. The portion isn't crazy, but it's good for the size. I enjoyed it with cilantro mixed in! Braised beef with rice 3.5/5 Bae prefers the pork over the beef (said the pork is more savory), I had a couple slices and didn't care too much for it. They do give lots of beef tho. Seasoned peanuts near cash register 3/5 Wanted to try these cuz I love the salted Viet peanuts. These come in their Szechuan seasoning that's more piecey. Not my fav, but I probably wouldn't get again. They're not bad, but they're fine. Everything was about $60 I believe. Service is still great, the guy came out to explain all the dishes and mixed the noodles for us.

The Chinese food scene is incredibly competitive in OC, with plenty of authentic options where it's hard to really differentiate as someone not particularly indoctrinated into the cuisine and can be intimidating with the food options and not being familiar with the language. I can totally relate as someone whose Chinese is definitely not good enough despite often being expected to. While I can't dive into the peculiarities of the cuisine here, it's pretty solid Sichuan style food that's a bit on the spicier side, for the general public, not that I would notice. The ordering process is pretty simple with a QR code, which has become pretty standard at Chinese restaurants and does make it easier if you struggle to read the menu items. They seem to be fairly new and not with the most expansive menu, with some pretty standard rice plates, but I knew I had to try out the noodles and dumplings, essentials in the cuisine. The jelly noodles made of mung beans were so refreshing on an incredibly hot day, with great texture and flavor. Though the dumplings look rather unassuming, it had such a combination of flavors that were absolutely delicious and unique in its flavor profile. They're simple dishes with incredible execution, and that's all you really need sometimes. The prices are very fair with solid portions, and you'll find yourself stuffed with a couple of dishes and not much more than $20 after tax and tip, which is absolutely solid for fresh, authentic, and delicious food. I really look forward to sampling the rest of the menu. TIP: The jelly noodles and house dumplings are essential.

Family-owned Chinese restaurant located in the Stater Bros shopping plaza, just to the right of Stater Bros. I ordered over the phone and the food was prepared quickly--pickup was easy and the staff was very friendly. The service was excellent (5/5) and the pricing is one of the best deals around (5/5)--you can still feed four people for around $40, which is rare these days. As for the food, the flavors were just okay (3/5)--most of the dishes tasted pretty similar, and while I was told it's Sichuan-style, it didn't quite have the bold, spicy profile you'd expect. The fried rice was good, but the wonton soup was too salty for my taste.

I love Sichuan food, and locally I love going to Sichuan Impressions. I went to ShuFeng Kitchen with really no expectations other than it was a new local spot, and I was genuinely surprised at how amazing the food was here. This place is located in an unassuming plaza, and it's right by a popular Indian restaurant that's a free standing building - same complex technically as Habuya just on the opposite corner. Inside is so unassuming though really clean, and the menu is pretty minimal tight compared to other local Chinese spots. Where the place shines is undoubtedly the food. One of my favorite dishes at Sichuan Impressions is their impressive dumplings - beaten out by the dumplings at Super Dumplings in orange - and now both places by here. There is something so wonderful about the noodles and wraps here. I'm not 100% sure but the noodles here taste hand made and they soak up sauces so beautifully. The wontons, dumplings, and dandan noodles were just spectacular. They look so plain but flavors do not lie, these are some of the best local noodle and dumpling related dishes I've had in a really long time. I also had the spicy hot pot and oh my goodness it was spectacular. I love ordering the Mao Cai at sichuan impressions but the spicy hot pot here takes it for me. The flavors are spectacular and what really sold me was the quality of the spicy beef. The spicy beef in the hot pot is cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned, and so high quality and tender. We also added ok the duck blood and intestines, and I haven't had better duck blood or intestines locally they were both unexpectedly phenomenal. Overall I will be a regular here when I have a Sichuan craving. We had 5 dishes total and not a single miss. If you like spicy food, Sichuan cuisine, or are at all interested in a spicer flavor profile of food, I highly recommend trying this place.

HOT & NEW in Tustin. Such a clean restaurant off of red Hill and the 5 freeway. It looks newly remodeled and is next to India kitchen. Hot means spicy. Try their spicy beef hot pot with a tender beef. The meat melts in your mouth and the vegetables inside feels like it will clean you out for the evening. The braised chicken is tender, but not overcooked. The mouth feel for all of the dishes are great since it feels cooked, but not overcooked. Server takes his time getting you clean, unchipped dishes. Water is cold and plentiful. We came for lunch and there was no wait. The dipping powder for the braised and beef really shined.

Overall a good authentic Chinese restaurant! I came here with a party of 3 on a Friday evening for dinner around 6:30pm and there was no wait although most tables were full (small and casual interior). Ordering is easy and through an app, and food came out fairly quickly. We ordered the sichuan jelly noodles which had a nice kick to it, it was super oily! Also ordered the house special dumplings which were my favorite dish (so delicious and good amount of spicy). The braised chicken and fried rice was pretty good, fried rice a tiny bit bland. And I wish there were more vegetable options, pretty much no vegetable dishes. But overall I was satisfied with my meal! Service was good too!

A Must-Try for Bullfrog Lovers - Well Worth the Drive! Came all the way to Tustin just to try the famous frog pot at this spot after seeing it recommended online. As a Bullfrog enthusiast, I had to check it out. The restaurant was pretty busy, with lots of people picking up takeout orders too. We ordered a few dishes, and each one was solid! Green Peppercorn Bullfrog Hotpot You've gotta try their frog hot pot--it's a must. The portion is huge, and the frog legs are super tender. The broth has that classic numbing-spicy kick, not too intense but seriously addictive. Loaded with tasty extras like tofu strips, lotus root, potato slices, and wood ear mushrooms. Osmanthus Longjing Tofu Pudding I'm officially obsessed. This was SO good! The osmanthus fragrance is amazing, and the tofu is silky smooth. Eating this after the spicy frog pot was a game-changer--cool, refreshing, and totally balanced the heat. I couldn't stop eating it. If I had the room, I would've ordered ten more bowls! House Special Dumplings Sweet and spicy, with an all-meat filling. My friend from Chengdu said it tasted just like the real deal back home. Crispy Potato with Pork Floss Never had potatoes like this before--what a surprise! The combo of crispy rice crust, soft potato, and savory pork floss is unexpectedly delicious. Don't skip this one. If you're into bold flavors and generous portions, this place is a real find. I'll definitely be back--maybe next time with a bigger stomach!

Wow, what a surprisingly great find. I came in right at 11:30am on a weekday and there was also a couple other groups ready to try the place out. The server was super nice and made sure everything I ordered made it out. The food was soooo good! Ordered the house special dumplings, hot oil wontons, and osmanthus longjing tea tofu pudding. The spice on the house special dumplings creeps up a little. Nothing was too salty. My first time having osmanthus tofu pudding and it's now one of my new faves. I would definitely come back just for the tofu pudding!! Can't wait to come back and order more. I have a feeling I'll have to order pick up because this place will definitely be a hit in the near future.

Today we stumbled upon a surprisingly amazing little Sichuan restaurant in Tustin, right next to Irvine -- Shufeng Kitchen . From the outside, it looks quite ordinary, but the moment you step in, that familiar aroma of Sichuan spices instantly hits -- this place is truly a hidden gem. The staff were super friendly and recommended a few of their must-try dishes -- we went for the Golden Broth Fatty Beef Hotpot, Tengjiao Dumplings, and Green Sichuan Pepper Bullfrog Pot. These three dishes easily became the stars of the table. The Golden Broth Fatty Beef Hotpot arrived with a gorgeous golden soup base that smelled incredible -- slightly sour, mildly spicy, and rich in flavor. The thinly sliced beef cooks in just seconds, perfectly tender and juicy, soaking up all that broth flavor. Absolutely addictive! The Tengjiao Dumplings were another highlight -- silky smooth wrappers with a savory filling inside. The green Sichuan pepper oil added that tingling, numbing aroma that bursts on your tongue -- spicy but not overwhelming, leaving behind an unforgettable fragrance. Then came the Green Sichuan Pepper Bullfrog Pot, heaven for anyone who loves bold, spicy flavors! The bullfrog meat was tender and delicate, while the bubbling broth delivered waves of numbing heat from the peppers -- perfect with a bowl of rice. Every bite was a fiery delight! Beyond the spicy dishes, their noodles and cold appetizers were equally impressive. The Sichuan Braised Beef Noodles had a rich, flavorful broth with tender chunks of beef and springy noodles; the Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue in Chili Sauce was thinly sliced, well-balanced in spice, and even more refreshing when chilled; and the Cold Noodles were light, spicy, and incredibly appetizing -- perfect for a warm day. Since we had a child with us, we also ordered the Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice, which turned out to be a hit -- the pork was perfectly balanced with fat and lean, rich with soy-based flavor, and the kid couldn't stop eating until the bowl was completely clean!

Oatmilk was the default choice, and while I usually think oatmilk can overpower matcha, it worked well in this drink. Came here with some friends for Afternoon Tea on a Saturday. We made a reservation for 12:30pm. Check-in was easy and quick. Since it was raining, we were seated indoors. Our server came to explain the menu and tea choices. Unfortunately, they were out of some teas, but they have a seasonal tea menu to make up for it. There were four of us and we all got the Afternoon Tea set. The teas we chose were the Coconut Milk Green Tea, Blueberry Pie Green Tea, Earl Grey Lavender, and Cherry Rose Rooibos. The teas came out first followed by the food items. We were told to let the teas steep for 4 minutes before pouring them. They were all great, but the favorite for us was the Coconut Milk Green Tea. It was creamy, smooth, and milky with a nice coconut flavor. The Blueberry Pie Green Tea tasted like a blueberry pie. We did not feel that the blueberry flavor was artificial. The Earl Grey Lavender was more Earl Grey than lavender. There might have been a subtle lavender flavor. The Cherry Rose Rooibos was surprisingly flavorful. We were able to taste both the cherry and rose. The food items were all solid. Our favorite sandwiches are the Chicken Salad and Cucumber ones. The breads for all the sandwiches were soft and fluffy, but they held up well. The scones were crunchy but not dry, and the jam was delicious. The fruit tart was mediocre. The pastry was soggy, affecting the texture of the tart. The macaron was not as chewy as others I have had in thr past, but was not too sweet. I did not try the donut so cannot comment on it. Overall, giving Morning Lavender Cafe a 4.5/5. Service is great and staff are quick and attentive. The teas were all good and most of the food is solid with exception of a couple of bites. One piece of feedback is that the menu should be reorganized. There are espresso drinks on several of the menu panels but then one space specifically that is titled espresso drinks which would imply the others don't have espresso. For example, the house specialties are listed on a completely separate panel as the espresso drinks, would've like to order one of those had I known they were offered. While I support this, it's not made know to customers by signs or anything - you would have to look on Yelp beforehand to know. In addition, I've been to other Kean branches that offered wifi so unless this is a new policy or the branches are owned independently it's important to make customers aware they can't expect the internet at this location in particular. I was caught off guard and had to leave immediately as I needed wifi at the time which was unfortunate. Seats about 25 inside, patio also available. Bathroom under lock and key. Parking is in l shopping center, no issues.

Great selection of donuts! I ordered a cinnamon sugar and a glazed. My husband ordered the cardamom bun and bambleberry (I think that's what they were called). These donuts are unique, huge, and tasty! I could taste a light flavor of sourdough, which is the base dough for all the donuts. I'm not a sourdough fan, but it was so faint that it only added to the flavor. So that worked. We ate two served warm. The other two we ate later in the day, and they tasted great at room temperature, too. This is a great donut place. Creative and excellent.

It was different. Extra large, soft and not overwhelmingly sweet like most donut shops. More cake…read morethan donut-like. The complaint: way overpriced. 5-9 dollars for a single donut? What?! I had to buy it for a last minute contribution for Mother's Day but dang $54 for 12 preselected donuts was just not computing. Quick service thank goodness because the parking in this little strip mall can be challenging let's say. The space was quite sizable, packed with people but minimal.
