I was impressed by the variety of coffee and matcha drinks that are here! You could have a range of fruity and tropical drinks to more rich, spice forward drinks. Because it was Summer, I opted for the guava Matcha because it sounded very refreshing. I was surprised with how not too sweet and light it was, but it was still packed with wonderful guava flavor. I was more impressed that they hand whisk every Matcha drink in a bowl, but still, they deliver with speed, efficiency, and quality. My sister got the Matcha with banana and that one was very good. You can tell they use real banana. My only thing is I believe the bananas weren't ripe enough, but I know that it is hard to always have the perfect ripeness for bananas because of demand. This is definitely a grab and go establishment. There is no inside seating or bathrooms. I do advise you to use the bathroom before because all the restaurants nearby will not allow you to use the restroom unless you make a purchase. I definitely want to try the coffee drinks next time because their name has coffee in the title so I should try what they are known for by name!
OVERALL : This was my second time at Ayer. The first time I tried their classic matcha latte w/ matcha foam, mango matcha, and strawberry matcha. The drinks were perfectly creamy esp w/ oat milk, and matcha was strong enough to hold up against all the different flavors. There's always a line out the door on a weekend afternoon, but we only waited about 20 mins and the drinks were well worth the wait. Service was super friendly and helpful w/ reccs. Note that this is more of a take-and-go spot, not for sitting inside. PARKING : There is a parking lot but it is small; might need to make some rounds before you can find a spot. The plaza gets pretty crowded during peak hours! FOOD/DRINKS : Guava Matcha Latte - sweet and refreshing, the guava doesn't overpower the matcha taste and it's a good summer drink! strawberry is prob still my go to though when I want a fruity matcha Pumpkin Matcha Latte - their fall seasonal drink! so surprisingly good - this reminded me of a pumpkin pie esp with the prominent pumpkin taste + the warm fall spices! Would def get again.
I wish I didn't like this place as much as I do. Every single time I've been here the line has been a 30 minute wait at LEAST but I like their matcha enough to sit through it. Please open another location closer to South OC!!!
coconut iced coffee - should've asked for much less sweet, it's super sweet but I like the coconutiness I also tried a bit of the mango matcha (less less sweet) and it was better than I expected actually there was quite a bit of a line but it went by pretty fast staff is very friendly
Got the Mango Matcha and it was amazing! This place always has a line but I would say it is completely worth it. The service is always fast and super friendly. It is a small little shop and parking can be better but overall a must try in Tustin!
Seriously? Probably HANDS DOWN a top 3 matcha spot in all of OC. This place is SO good! You can tell they take matcha seriously. They have somewhat of a small menu, but honestly, I prefer it that way because you can tell they put a lot of thought and care into each item. My favorite has to be matcha two, which is an oat milk matcha with a salted matcha vanilla cream. I'm a vanilla girly through and through! It's a pretty small interior, with mainly just enough room to order and a small bench to sit on while you wait. My only complaint is that they close a little earlier than a lot of other cafes, but their drinks have never once let me down!! I'm not a caffeine drinker but wow. Love.

I get mine less sweet and it's perfect. All their fruit matchas are from real fruit puree not artificial. Recently tried the coffee too and it's definitely good and strong. Be prepared to wait in line 30-40 mins usually but the staff always friendly. They whisk every matcha individually. Pricing is fair for its quality, $8 bucks for double matcha for a 16oz cup. Not too crazy but not the cheapest.
As someone who just flew down from the Bay Area, my goal is to try out different drink stops every time I visit. I was hesitant at first because of how long the line looked, but after some easy self-convincing I ended up joining that line, and I do not regret it all. I visited on a Wednesday early afternoon, and the line was already long. Usually not surprised it has a lime because of the fact that they close early. I waited 30 mins total to order and get my drink, which wasn't terrible. You order with 1 worker, she writes it down on the cup, and then you go and pay right after, and then someone brings the drink out to you, which was very nice! Since I was alone, and I'm not local, I decided to treat myself and get 2 drinks, the blueberry matcha and their banana coffee. And it was amazing!! Couldn't stop chugging both of them. Loved loved each of their flavors. So very highly recommended if you are into sweeter drinks or flavored drinks!
Pretty solid coffee and really really good matcha per my wife LOL. I'm not a huge matcha person so I can't really tell the difference, but she told me it's worth the hype! Don't get discouraged when you see the line outside. They only let 1-3 people inside at a time to order so everyone has to wait outside. I was at the end of the 1st/2nd store? and it only took about 10min to order. There was about 10-13 people in front of me. Then it took about another 10min to get my order, so it wasn't a terrible wait. Ordered Banana Coffee - 4/5 - nothing crazy viet coffee with bananas, but one of the better ones Matcha 1 - for pure matcha flavors Matcha 2 - for some light dressing on the matcha salted matcha foam Salted Bread - 3/5 idk just tasted like bread with butter/salt LMAO Personally if I have to wait 30min+ i wouldn't but if you can get there early and it's only around 10min wait I think it's a solid spot.

This place is defiantly very very popular at the moment but for good reason. Ive been seeing this place on all the top matcha lists in OC and it has contention for sure. My only critic is that the matcha itself is a little gritty. I got a guava matcha latte and the color is amazing and the taste of the matcha itself has a subtly sweetness that everyone can get behind. The gritty texture may be due to the mass production that they are handling for the growing line. Regardless it was worth the hour wait! My bf loved their banana viet coffee and wishes we got 2 of those to begin with. I believe all the coffees are made with viet coffee bases but i could be wrong.
This is a local hidden gem in Tustin in a random strip mall. Parking is abit hit and miss since its a small lot but usually you'll find something just circling around. There seems to always be a line here so be aware! We got there after lunch around 1pm and the line was about 10-15minutes reaching two doors down. They explicitly have a caution line on the sidewalk telling people NOT to block next door businesses doorways! The menu is straightforward and seems to update since we came before. The HOT item that always sells out daily is the sea salt bread. They will sell out within a few hours of opening so its only a morning item! Also note this place is cashless so card only! Our favorite items here are the: Banana Matcha: This is there matcha latte with oat milk and banana cream on top with fresh sliced bananas and toffee bits. Yes definitely get it less sweet for the perfect ratio! Its like a banana toffee flavor with that rich matcha on the bottom so good in this summer heat! Black Sesame match: this is my usual go to since its a more light drink with there signature matcha latte topped with black sesame cream. Its very light for someone just looking for a easy to drink light matcha but don't want a plain drink. Matcha Two: Matcha latte with salted matcha cream and vanilla syrup. This i would say is there signature matcha drink if you are a first timer and want to try there matcha without all the other flavors. Its got a good balanced matcha blended with the hint on vanilla sweetness. The servers are super friendly and helpful here since they make every cup of matcha by hand so there's a long table of workers hand mixing matcha but the line moves fairly quickly. You order directly at the bar so you can ask questions or customize if you wish. I usually get less sweet, less ice or even no ice. They personally hand you every order by name which is a great touch. Overall, a great local matcha shop they we will definitely be back again to try other items especially that salted bread that always sells out!

It started inside the store and extended past four other stores next to it. However, the line moved pretty decently (prob 15 minutes to get to the front). The workers were really nice... they walked out to hand-deliver each drink to customers outside. So sweet of them! There's no seating available for those looking to study here, but they do have a bench inside where you can sit while waiting for your drinks. Our order: Matcha Two (4/5): Very rich in matcha for sure, but I don't think this one was made for me. I like it more when it's infused with the berries or fruits, so maybe I'll try that next time. Not bad tho! Salted Saigon (5/5): Perfect for coffee lovers like me! Just enough sweetness in the coffee and a hint of sea salt creme on top. Nice pairings. Would def. get it again. Blueberry Matcha (5/5): My friend got this drink, and she really loved it! She said it was a total banger, and she would come back for this LOL. Definitely a must-visit spot for coffee or matcha!
I wanted to hate this place because how long the wait was but when we finally got to the front we got a matcha 2, and a Saigon drip. I'm so upset the matcha here was so fire cause now I have to wait in the stupid long line again. Coffee was good too very nutty but the matcha was the star so def recommend getting one. Guava matcha is so good, super refreshing! I also like the mango matcha as well. Also, the matcha doesn't feel thick or too heavy. The times I have been here, the line is long but goes by pretty decently. Staffs are really nice and helpful. Only problem here is the parking bc it's a small plaza. I went on a Sunday once and took us like 15 mins to find parking and the line was outrageously long. The store is small but they have a good flow going. read more

WOWOWOWOW. Delicious! One of the best matcha drinks ever. The matcha here really shines. They do matcha in a really simple, yet delicious way. The matcha is incredibly smooth and creamy. The drinks are not too sweet, the salt levels are perfect, and have a great ratio of matcha! I will say I think the matcha flavor could be punchier, but I think the way they've done it really appeals to the masses. The matcha is also not really bitter which I am really impressed by! Because it's not bitter, the naturally sweet, creamy, and savory/earthy notes really come through. My husband and I tried the M2 and the Mango Matcha. Both were AMAZING! The mango matcha was sweeter and a good balance between the two flavors. The M2 was straight matcha flavor and so pure. Your preference on whether you like sweet or heavier on the matcha will dictate what will be your favorite. We also tried the Black Sesame Coffee and WOWEE was it great! The coffee was STRONG. Really good coffee. Loved it! And the black sesame was super flavorful. Now let's talk about the game changer...THE SALT BREAD! If you are there and it's not sold out, do yourself a favor and just get it. (P.S. I've heard that the salt bread sells out early) I LOVED THE SALT BREAD! It was actually the perfect bread to match the drinks. I loved taking a sip of the drink and following it up with a bite of the salt bread. The bread had a crispy outside and a beautiful salty, buttery flavor. Loved the crunchy outside with the airy inside. Such a good pastry. I came Saturday around 10am and the wait was about 30 minutes. The line moved quick and once they took our order, the drinks came out SO FAST. The service was AMAZING! The workers were so kind and we really enjoyed our interactions with them. AYER, GREAT WORK! I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!! read more
Wanted so badly to like this place because of how long I waited in line (45 mins) and all the hype, but unfortunately this didn't live up to my expectations. It was also a bit hard to find a parking spot in the lot because of how crowded it was. I got the Matcha 2 and thought it tasted just ok compared to a lot of the other double matchas I've had around OC. However, I do appreciate how friendly the staff was and how helpful they were with their recommendations! read more
Orange County Matcha Finest! Currently, my favorite place for Matcha! I've been here since the grand opening and I absolutely love the place. I try to go off hours because this place gets really busy on weekends. The service is quick and worth the wait. What I got here is the double Matcha and boy did they make a mean one. It is the perfect sweetness at 50%. It has a very good consistency. I also recommend getting the salted bread. read more
Mango matcha: 5/5 Fresh mango flavor pairs so well with the matcha, so yummy Black sesame matcha: 4.5/5 Loveeee black sesame but tasted more black sesame cream than I did any matcha flavor, overall still so yummy There was a line but it moved pretty fast I would say like 5 min. I've been here twice now. The line is out the door, but it's because there's literally no room inside except to order your drink. Once you order, you wait outside and the drink comes out quick. Both times I got the matcha banana cream drink. I normally don't like oat milk, but you can't taste the difference here. I'm also not sure if they use diary alternatives for their cream, but if they do, it is still pretty creamy. I'm knocking a star down because the drink was inconsistent. They were still good both times, but the first time, it had a better, more concentrated matcha taste. I also got the salt bread and would skip it. They put it in a cute little bag, but I've definitely had better. read more
Great service. Friendly staff and quick to make drinks. All matchas are whisked by hand and made to order. The matcha has a great flavor and the fruit puree is fresh and potent. My friend and I agreed we wouldn't want to wait an hour again in that line, but it's definitely a top 5 spot in OC for matcha! read more

Hmmm pretty good! The long line kind of scared me when I dropped by in the afternoon sun, so I came back another time when it was cooler and found out that it's only 1 customer inside at a time, which is why it looks so long outside. Wait time is about 20 mins including placing order and getting your drinks. Salt bread is always out when I get to the front, so haven't been able to comment on that. Appreciated that the base is all oat milk here though! Strawberry coffee (very faint taste of strawberry) Blueberry coffee (delicious blueberry compote) Blueberry matcha (pretty good!) Hojicha banana coffee (unexpectedly delicious!) Guava matcha (pretty good!) Would be back to try other options available and recommend others to try as well. read more

A solid matcha spot! Came around 12 PM on a Friday and waited about 30 minutes total between the line and getting our drinks. The mango matcha had a really fresh, fruity flavor, while the banana matcha was super creamy and slightly thick, probably from the real banana foam and oat milk. The toffee bits on top were so good and added a nice texture and extra sweetness. The store itself is pretty small and most of the space is taken up by ordering and making drinks, so there's nowhere to sit or really chill. Definitely more of a pick me up drink kind of place than somewhere to hang out, but the drinks were solid! read more
Stopped by on a weekday in the early afternoon and the line was very long! It went all the way down the plaza, and took around 15-20 minutes which was a lot faster than I thought. The set up of the ordering/receiving your drink is very very efficient; it is more of a pick up coffee than sit and enjoy. I was pleasantly surprised with the coffee, and my friend got the matcha to try. Loved both! read more
Ayer has quickly become my favorite matcha in OC. The staff is always friendly. Line is out the door. But worth it. If you're a matcha lover, this place is a must-visit. Just have to order the right thing...Right now I'm loving the coconut water matcha, which has two of my favorite things, and the matcha one which, by default, comes with oat milk. Anything with ice cream is just too extra for me read more
My favorite place for matcha. I'm not even a banana fan but this one with the toffee bits was a 10/10. The coconut matcha wasn't bad, but was just meh. Not something I would get again I think. Definitely not bad. The only downside to this place is the line. read more

Simple menu items and tasteful drinks. Came by on a Wednesday around noon time. There was a line by the time we found parking. Only waited maybe 10 minutes before we got to order. I got to try their black sesame matcha. I'll say, I appreciate their line system so that orders will flow from order, make, and serve. After payment, waited maybe 5 minutes or so after paying for my beverage. Black sesame was unique and paired well with the matcha. The base oat milk was a great choice to complement the matcha. I might give one of their fruit matcha's a chance next time. read more

We'd driven past countless times and there was always a line, so we finally stopped in. The wait is real, and it comes from two things. The ordering setup is inefficient -- you give your order to one employee who writes it on the cup, then repeat the whole thing to a second employee to pay. That part could easily be streamlined. But the other reason is that they hand-whisk the matcha fresh to order, and I'll give them full credit for that. Most places don't bother. You can tell they care about the process. Which makes it harder to say this: the matcha itself just wasn't good. It came out grainy with an artificial taste. I ordered the salted vanilla matcha cream top, and the vanilla and milk powder flavor overpowered whatever matcha was underneath. Three stars because the effort and intention are clearly there -- it's the execution on the matcha that missed for me. They're a roaster, so the coffee is probably the stronger order, and I'd try that next time. read more
Super TLDR: -Loved the Matcha Two, will try Mango Matcha next. -Matcha was creamy, smooth, & perfectly sweet. -It was awesome to see the employees whisk each individual portion in their matcha bowls in the kitchen. -Most drinks use Oat Milk by default, can adjust sugar to less sweet. -About $6-$8 per drink. -Parking lot is semi-crowded, and wait time is about 20 minutes, as there's always a line. -Orders come out pretty timely & definitely coming back again! read more
Come in knowing what you want to order! The setup is pretty unique. you walk in, tell the barista your order first, and then head over to the cash register to pay. I actually thought the system was pretty dope and efficient. That said, I can definitely see how it could be frustrating if you're indecisive or it's your first time visiting, so I'd recommend looking at the menu beforehand if you can. I ordered the Matcha #2, and my husband got the Saigon Drip. Once your drink is ready, they hand it directly to you, which keeps the process moving. As for the drinks, they were just okay. The matcha wasn't anything too special. It leaned more on the watery side and reminded me a lot of Junbi's matcha. Not much matcha flavor. Considering the line, I was expecting a little more. My husband liked the Saigon Drip, but we both thought it tasted pretty similar to Lee's Coffee. It had a slight salty note, which we actually enjoy, but the coffee flavor itself wasn't as bold as we were hoping for. Overall, I'm glad we gave it a try, and the staff was really friendly. It was a fun experience but I personally don't think it's worth waiting in a long line for. I'd maybe come back, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice. read more

People weren't kidding when they said there's always a line here! I came at 8:15am on a Tuesday before work and waited about 15 minutes in line, 5 minutes to get my drinks. I guess a lot of people had the same idea to get their matchas before work lol. I got the Matcha Two and it was sooo good. Strong matcha flavor and love the lil matcha powder detail on top! I could see myself coming here before work more often. There's a lot of workers working hard to hand whisk the matchas and they're all super friendly!! read more
Ayer is worth the hype! Be prepared to wait- I got there just before 9 AM and there was already a line and it doubled by the time I left. The matcha is top tier in quality and flavor. Super vibrant and the banana foam and toppings was a perfect pairing. The Korean Salt Bread was a wonderful snack, and resembled a bread/butter roll with extra salt. The workers were super nice even with a huge line. Can't wait to come back! read more
My favorite everrrr!!! Best matcha & flavors, always has a line outside the door. Though the lines are long, the max I've ever waited AFTER ordering is 5-10minutes. Parking lot but can get filled during peak hours. They also sell salt bread but they didn't have it today. (Heard great things about it though) TLDR: Matcha 2 is one of my favorite double matchas. Their fruit matchas are super refreshing & the purées are fresh & not superficial tasting at all. Really looking to explore more of their drinks since they all look super yummy. read more
