Super TLDR: -Loved the Matcha Two, will try Mango Matcha next. -Matcha was creamy, smooth, & perfectly sweet. -It was awesome to see the employees whisk each individual portion in their matcha bowls in the kitchen. -Most drinks use Oat Milk by default, can adjust sugar to less sweet. -About $6-$8 per drink. -Parking lot is semi-crowded, and wait time is about 20 minutes, as there's always a line. -Orders come out pretty timely & definitely coming back again!
To begin with, the parking is terrible, there's usually a long line, and there's no seating. I used to come here regularly, but between the declining service and inconsistent drink quality, it's just not worth it anymore. I'd recommend going to Airoma instead. When you order a drink with light ice, they leave about an inch of room at the top and won't fill it with additional liquid. I spoke with one of the owners before, and they used to accommodate this, so it was disappointing to see the change. Paying nearly $8 for essentially one cup of liquid and then waiting 30 minutes isn't a great value, especially with so many other options in Orange County. To make matters worse, the drink I received was so clumpy that I had to have it remade.
Went on a Friday afternoon and there was a line so hesitated on waiting, but the line moved rather quickly so don't let it detour you! From waiting to getting my drink, it took 15 minutes. I got the matcha two and the hojicha latte and they were both really good. There's not many coffee shops where I actually enjoy their matcha but this place actually has good smooth matcha with the perfect blend of sweetness and matcha flavor. That goes the same with the hojicha, many places have it too milky or watered down that you can't taste the tea, but they did their hojicha well too. Will definitely come back and try their other more unique combinations and standard coffee too! Plenty of parking as it's in a plaza but only downside is there's no seating for you to hang out while having your drink.
Drinks here are sooo good. Hojicha is good, with a proper tea flavor and not watered down at all. The banana hojicha is super good. Definitely can see why the other reviews rave about it. The black sesame coffee latte didn't have much of a black sesame flavor, even with the black sesame cream mixed in. But the coffee flavor was good. Employees are friendly and prepare the drinks with a sense of urgency. Even with a long line, it wasn't a long wait.
I always come at 8am when they open to TRY and beat the long lines. So at 8am, i'm standing in line to receiving my order, took 25 minutes. Imagine any other time during the day! But it's worth it. Anything here is absolutely perfect and delicious from their iced coffees to their iced Matcha seriously order anything and you'll love it!
Finally! I got to try this coffee place! I have tried at least 5 times and all the times the line is at the end of the shopping center where it's located. I took my chances today being a Friday at 10 am to see if I got lucky. I saw a line but it was only like 10 people deep. So I stayed. This place is basically you order your drink and stand outside and wait for it. It doesn't have seating tables . That's probably why the line moves kind of fast. The ladies at the counter and at the register are very friendly and keep the line going pretty good. I ordered the banana coffee with cream tools and it was delicious. I wish they had a bigger size of it. They only have one size. The drink was the perfect consistency of coffee and sweetness. It was so tasty. Definitely coming back but during the week.
Soo popular even during a weekday theres a line. I think the wait took around 30 minutes and voicing others the drink does come out fast. Its a grab and go place, but theres just one little plaza parking which can be hard to have available spots sometimes. They handwhisk the matcha. The matcha is okay, Its not astrigent and bitter, but not high quality enough to drink plain with water and definitely suits more sweet drinks, has that milky texture with some savoury notes (matcha part just soso) The guava milk part of the drink was soo delicious and creamy, not sure how to put it but it was definitely my first time having like a guava custard flavored drink. So I'd recommend their mixed flavor drinks.

Apparently it's small inside so they only allow 1 group in at a time. So this 2nd time, I decided to stay and wait out the line. I did time it and it took 15 from the time we waited in line to order to getting our drinks. So not bad. I got the blueberry latte less sweet-I enjoyed my drink, first time having blueberry. There was a good amount of blueberry syrup and I'm glad I got it less sweet. My friend go the banana matcha and she liked it. The toasted crunch added was a nice touch. Definitely a treat. SYOY!

It sounds really good on the menu, especially reading the ingredients. But would not get it again. The service is efficient. There was a line and we waited about 25 minutes. And the drinks came out within 10 minutes. Ambiance is a small shop and they sell their own matcha powder and hojicha.
Ok so I've heard a lot of good things about this place so I was really excited to try it! It was such a tough decision choosing which matcha to order since they have so many different flavors, including guava and black sesame which both sound incredible! First off, I want to say that the service was great! 10/10! The people taking my order were so nice and they even brought my drink outside for me. I opted for the banana matcha because I love banana matcha and I've seen people post about it online. To be completely honest I thought it was just okay. I mean the matcha was good, but I actually didn't really like the banana foam by itself. For example, I love Taty's banana cream and could eat that stuff by the spoonful. However, when I mixed it in the matcha it tasted much better for some reason. The toffee bits also add a nice crunch. Overall I'd give it a 6.5/10. I'd definitely be willing to give Ayer another try before forming a conclusive opinion on their matcha. Their matcha quality is good, so I think I just need to try a different drink.
This place is definitely worth the hype! I ordered the Strawberry Matcha with Sea Salt Cream Foam and the Matcha Latte, and both were delicious. They were sweet, creamy, and had a rich matcha flavor without being overpowering. My favorite was the Strawberry Matcha--the flavors were incredibly well balanced. The fresh strawberry purée added a refreshing, natural sweetness that paired perfectly with the matcha and cream foam. I visited on a Sunday around 11 AM, and the line took about 30 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. The staff were super friendly, and once I ordered, the drinks came out quickly. I'll definitely be back!

They only allow one party in the shop at a time. You order with one person, and then they send you to the cashier to pay. Once you place your order, the drinks come out pretty quickly. I love a good Blueberry Matcha, so I knew I had to try one. The matcha latte has oat milk and their house blueberry puree. I really enjoyed it! They also have their Matcha Lattes "One," "Two," and "Three." We opted for the Matcha Three which includes salted matcha vanilla ice cream and matcha sorbet, oat milk, and house vanilla syrup. It was pretty good! Lastly, we got the Coconut Pandan Green Rice drink which sounded unique! It's ice blended with coconut cream, pandan coconut rice, and condensed milk. It's a thicker drink with more texture from the rice. I'll be back!

Once indoors, you can see how they prepare their matcha in a big batch. Love that!! Hence why the line goes by so quickly. I also appreciate the Dairy warning sign on their menu. The person checking me out was such a sweetie. They asked about my weekend plans and sounded genuinely interested, Glad to see they keep a good attitude despite being so busy. Plenty of parking shared with surrounding shops. Would make the long drive to Irvine for this drink!!!!

I genuinely think Ayer Coffee has the best matcha in all of OC. Ever since they opened, I've been there 4-5 times a week and somehow still haven't gotten tired of it. The quality and consistency are honestly unmatched. I've tried pretty much every drink on the menu at this point, and every single visit tastes just as good as the last, which is rare these days. Yes, the line can get long sometimes, but the staff does such a great job moving things quickly while still being friendly and attentive. You never feel rushed, and they're always happy to answer questions or make recommendations. Their new guava matcha is AMAZING! Super unique and refreshing without being overly sweet. I've already convinced a bunch of my friends and family to try Ayer and now they're hooked too. Even my dad, who visits Vietnam often and is very picky about coffee, said he liked the coffee at Ayer even more. I've also purchased their Saigon blend to make Vietnamese coffee at home, and the staff were incredibly helpful in guiding me on how to brew it properly. You can tell they genuinely care about both the quality of their drinks and the customer experience. Ayer deserves all the hype. Easily one of my favorite coffee spots ever. read more

Went on a Monday morning at 9:30am and lines were already forming! It's a small order and go shop, no place to sit and chill. They also have Korean bread which you should definitely try! Tried out their double matcha and coconut coffee! Both were really good! It is on the less sweet side fyi, in my opinion I think it could use a little more sweetness but I still enjoyed the drinks none the less! This place is pretty solid! But I am not sure if I would wait more than 30 mins if the line was super backed up! Luckily the wait was only about 20 mins from waiting in line to receiving the drinks. read more

I stopped by Ayer on a Sunday around 3:30 PM and there was a line as expected. It only looks long because the line starts out the door, with the inside of the shop having two stations: one station is to place your order and the other is to pay for your drinks. It's a small coffee shop and is more of a grab-and-go place. Despite how busy they get, the workers are very friendly and efficient. A male worker (who I believe was the owner) who was regulating the line was very kind and apologized about the wait. Shows the care that they have for their customers. I ordered the mango matcha, which are two of my favorite things. The flavors compliment each other well with a good balance between the two rather than one flavor overpowering the other. It reminded me of a mango lassi with a hint of matcha. The drink is overall very refreshing and smooth, and I would recommend it if you're looking to try a more unique matcha drink. read more

[Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Mango Matcha, Salted Saigon, and Matcha Latte. They also sell Korean salt bread in limited quantity, so come early before it sells out. *** Signature Korean Salt Bread (Limited Daily - $4.50): A bit cold but tasted good. Mango Matcha (Made with oat milk & mango purée - $7.50): I see the appeal - the drink was quite good. The matcha did not taste overly diluted and the sweetness level was solid. *** Overall this is a 5-star-worthy matcha shop in Orange County. read more

Stopped by earlier today and there was a short line. Parking was easy since it's located in a plaza. Ordering and paying was nicely organized. Service was so friendly!!! I ordered the Matcha Two (less sweet + oat milk) and also purchased a 40 gram tin of their matcha. Once you're finished paying, you stand outside until they call you with your order. They called my name fairly quick and my drink was BEAUTIFUL. The color was a perfect shade of green. I have no notes (I'm a picky person when it comes to my matcha). 10/10! read more
Went for the grand opening a while ago and then recently went because I was near the area! The line is long but it's worth it for their delicious drinks. I got a matcha one time and the Vietnamese coffee with salted foam the next time. The employees are kind and ask customers how their days are. read more
One of the best matcha spots in OC! I arrived around 1:30pm on a Friday afternoon. I was able to fine parking quickly which was nice because it's a tiny parking lot. There was a long line in front of the store and waited in line for about 10-15 minutes. I was looking through the window and saw they hand whisked all of the matcha, which is why it takes a long time. They also had one person taking the orders and one person in charge of payment. They don't do online orders. It's also the place you grab and go since it's small inside with one bench. I got my drink 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the matcha one which is just matcha with oat milk and less sweetness. I like that all their drinks have oat milk since I don't like paying extra for it. It was so good! The matcha flavor was definitely strong and goes well with the oat milk. Would definitely come back and bring a friend to show this place! :-) read more

Definitely the best Vietnamese coffee I've had, and I've tried a lot. The Salted Saigon had the perfect balance of flavors. My friend got the Coconut Matcha and it was surprisingly delicious too. The line looks intimidating but moved pretty fast -- about 20 mins when we went and totally worth it. Parking can be rough. Amazing service too, the ladies working there were so sweet and welcoming. read more

After having Ayer Coffee bookmarked for a while, I finally had the chance to try it out the other day. I pulled up around 9am and there was already a line of people waiting to order, which I thought meant their coffee/matcha drinks must be delicious and worth trying. And their matcha was worth it. The line went by fast, and the staff was so sweet. I got the Matcha One and a salt bread. The flavor of the matcha was so well-balanced. Not grainy at all and the color of the matcha was beautiful. Only thing is their drinks all include oat milk and there aren't alternative milk options, which I didn't realize until I was in line. I'm not the biggest fan of oat milk so that kinda affected my taste. However, the salt bread was really good! Buttery, soft, and not too salty. Because of my aversion to oat milk, I probably won't be back. But I will definitely recommend this spot to people that don't mind oat milk! read more
It's organized and run efficiently. The line wasn't too bad and imo moves quickly. Once you order and pay, the drinks come out fast. The cashier was super friendly and very cheery. I got Matcha Two and my sister got Mango Matcha. I was between Matcha Two and Strawberry Matcha but decided to go with Matcha Two. It was satisfactory, but I've had better. My sister really wanted to try their Signature Korean Salt Bread but they had already sold out. They probably had literally just sold out shortly before because we saw people eating it/ were able to purchase one. Parking was easy to find. Always a line outside this cafe and totally deserved. I usually opt to get their matcha one but this time tried their coconut water matcha cream top and loved how refreshing it was! I'm not the biggest fan of matcha cream tops as they tend to be overly sweet but this one had a perfect balance. LOVEEEE!!!! Gave this viral spot a visit with my mom and my sister on a Monday at around 3 pm and that line was longggg! It moved pretty quick though so the wait wasn't too bad and the drinks came out fast once we ordered. We got a matcha 1, strawberry matcha, and a matcha cream coconut with guava puree. the coconut and guava one was seriously unreal I'm still thinking about it!!! The guava matcha sounded really good but I wanted something a little bit lighter than oat milk so the coconut water was perfect. I can't wait to come back soon read more
Ayer Coffee was so yummy! Ordered the coconut water matcha cream and strawberry matcha and both were really good -- but the coconut water matcha was my personal favorite. Perfect balance of coconut water and matcha, not too sweet, just really well done. Easily my favorite version of this drink so far. The strawberry matcha was also good -- loved that they use fresh strawberry puree, it adds a natural sweetness that doesn't overpower the matcha. The matcha quality overall is solid. Heads up that it's a small spot with a line that goes outdoors, but on a weekday it moved pretty quickly. Staff is super friendly, and chats with you a bit. Can't wait to go back! read more

Mango Matcha 4/5 I was hesitant to try the Mango Matcha, but I'm glad I did. Who knew mango and matcha was a good pairing? It's also one of their most popular drinks. The sweet mango purée and smooth matcha combination is worth trying. Matcha Two 4/5 My sister said hers was okay and that she has had better double matcha drinks in the Los Angeles area. The place is small. They only allow one party at a time, so there's always a line outside. The staff are always friendly and upbeat. Come early if you want to try their salt bread. I've missed it twice and this morning, the person in front of us got the last one. So sad. read more
Pretty efficient cafe. Though the line is long, it's a pretty quick in and out once you order. We got the matcha 2 which was a matcha latte with a vanilla cream foam on top. I had heard lots of thyme about Ayer but personally don't get it! The matcha itself was fine, could have been stronger and I wasn't a huge fan of the foam. I wish it was sweeter/more vanilla-y. I wouldn't write off this place though and would be down to come again and try another drink or maybe even the same one in case this was an off day. On another note, the baristas are very friendly and kind and make it a positive environment! read more
A long wait but kinda worth it! Long line in the little complex but it moved quicker than expected. Parking is a hassle but it's not like LA parking. From back of the line to getting our drinks in hand took about 45-50 minutes, it felt quicker than that though. Went on a Saturday afternoon about an hour before closing. Staff were very friendly and kind. Made our drinks beautifully. Inside is very small but it's meant to have more space for the kind staff to make as many drinks as possible. Banana Coffee - 9.5/10, the best in the county for sure, the fresh banana pieces are a nice touch and the banana cream and coffee tasted great. Mango Matcha - 6/10. Mango puree tasted AMAZING before mixing, after mixing it kinda got lost in the matcha. Matcha was slightly grainy but it still tasted good. I would wait in line for the coffee again 100%, but I would try the other matcha as well. read more
Three visits in and I'm not slowing down. Ayer isn't just living up to the hype, definitely exceeded my expectations. The banana coffee hits different, the Matcha Two is perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness, and the mango and strawberry matchas are refreshing without being overly sugary... they're so damn tasty Even the Spanish latte holds its own and that's something in would normally not order. Every drink feels intentional; like someone actually cared about what went into your cup. This is central OC's next obsession, and if you haven't been yet, you're tripping. My first time playing as a random Thursday at like 2 or 2;30 and it had a pretty long line. The good thing is it really does move fast and their efficient. After trying the drinks it's no shocker or surprise why it stays busy 24/7 Hopefully I get to try the salted Bread sometime as it tends To run out daily! read more
Small coffee spot located in a strip mall in Tustin. I was in the area looking for pick me up. This place came up and got me curious. It has a pretty good size lot in parking was pretty easy to find. As soon as I walked up, I noticed a line and a few people waiting for their orders. This place seemed very popular. When it was my turn to order, the people were very friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering the banana, coffee, which was a Vietnamese iced coffee with a banana cream top. It was perfect for what I wanted in at the time. Absolutely love this place and their matcha! I've been getting the matcha here forever but decided to try to the Spanish phin, and it was perfect. Strong like a Vietnamese coffee, and the cinnamon added a different touch to it. The line was pretty long when I first arrived, but it moved surprisingly fast. The service was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The quality of the matcha was outstanding. You can really tell they use high-quality matcha because the flavor was vibrant, rich, and incredibly smooth. I would definitely come back again! read more

Parking: Large free parking plaza still quite packed. Interior: Small shop only with order and take out counter. No seats. Wait Time: 20min wait on a weekend afternoon. 5-10min for drink order. Items Order: 8/10 Mango Matcha $7.50 - Initially sweetness was closer to 10-20% so it was very light and had to ask for adjustment. Staff were nice and were able accommodate.
