This is a local hidden gem in Tustin in a random strip mall. Parking is abit hit and miss since its a small lot but usually you'll find something just circling around. There seems to always be a line here so be aware! We got there after lunch around 1pm and the line was about 10-15minutes reaching two doors down. They explicitly have a caution line on the sidewalk telling people NOT to block next door businesses doorways! The menu is straightforward and seems to update since we came before. The HOT item that always sells out daily is the sea salt bread. They will sell out within a few hours of opening so its only a morning item! Also note this place is cashless so card only! Our favorite items here are the: Banana Matcha: This is there matcha latte with oat milk and banana cream on top with fresh sliced bananas and toffee bits. Yes definitely get it less sweet for the perfect ratio! Its like a banana toffee flavor with that rich matcha on the bottom so good in this summer heat! Black Sesame match: this is my usual go to since its a more light drink with there signature matcha latte topped with black sesame cream. Its very light for someone just looking for a easy to drink light matcha but don't want a plain drink. Matcha Two: Matcha latte with salted matcha cream and vanilla syrup. This i would say is there signature matcha drink if you are a first timer and want to try there matcha without all the other flavors. Its got a good balanced matcha blended with the hint on vanilla sweetness. The servers are super friendly and helpful here since they make every cup of matcha by hand so there's a long table of workers hand mixing matcha but the line moves fairly quickly. You order directly at the bar so you can ask questions or customize if you wish. I usually get less sweet, less ice or even no ice. They personally hand you every order by name which is a great touch. Overall, a great local matcha shop they we will definitely be back again to try other items especially that salted bread that always sells out!
Mango matcha: 5/5 Fresh mango flavor pairs so well with the matcha, so yummy Black sesame matcha: 4.5/5 Loveeee black sesame but tasted more black sesame cream than I did any matcha flavor, overall still so yummy There was a line but it moved pretty fast I would say like 5 min. Drinks came out fast
WOWOWOWOW. Delicious! One of the best matcha drinks ever. The matcha here really shines. They do matcha in a really simple, yet delicious way. The matcha is incredibly smooth and creamy. The drinks are not too sweet, the salt levels are perfect, and have a great ratio of matcha! I will say I think the matcha flavor could be punchier, but I think the way they've done it really appeals to the masses. The matcha is also not really bitter which I am really impressed by! Because it's not bitter, the naturally sweet, creamy, and savory/earthy notes really come through. My husband and I tried the M2 and the Mango Matcha. Both were AMAZING! The mango matcha was sweeter and a good balance between the two flavors. The M2 was straight matcha flavor and so pure. Your preference on whether you like sweet or heavier on the matcha will dictate what will be your favorite. We also tried the Black Sesame Coffee and WOWEE was it great! The coffee was STRONG. Really good coffee. Loved it! And the black sesame was super flavorful. Now let's talk about the game changer...THE SALT BREAD! If you are there and it's not sold out, do yourself a favor and just get it. (P.S. I've heard that the salt bread sells out early) I LOVED THE SALT BREAD! It was actually the perfect bread to match the drinks. I loved taking a sip of the drink and following it up with a bite of the salt bread. The bread had a crispy outside and a beautiful salty, buttery flavor. Loved the crunchy outside with the airy inside. Such a good pastry. I came Saturday around 10am and the wait was about 30 minutes. The line moved quick and once they took our order, the drinks came out SO FAST. The service was AMAZING! The workers were so kind and we really enjoyed our interactions with them. AYER, GREAT WORK! I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!!
I've been here twice now. The line is out the door, but it's because there's literally no room inside except to order your drink. Once you order, you wait outside and the drink comes out quick. Both times I got the matcha banana cream drink. I normally don't like oat milk, but you can't taste the difference here. I'm also not sure if they use diary alternatives for their cream, but if they do, it is still pretty creamy. I'm knocking a star down because the drink was inconsistent. They were still good both times, but the first time, it had a better, more concentrated matcha taste. I also got the salt bread and would skip it. They put it in a cute little bag, but I've definitely had better.
Pretty Delicious! I came here 4x prior, on my 5th, I've decided to write a review. One of my favorite hojicha spots and they do their fruit pairings with matcha well. It doesn't taste jammy and has a fragrant aftertaste. The line can get a bit long but I don't mind too much. The service is always polite and efficient. No complaints! Everyone is nice and they offer adjustments if you need it after ordering. I hope they continue to do well! ^-^
Orange County Matcha Finest! Currently, my favorite place for Matcha! I've been here since the grand opening and I absolutely love the place. I try to go off hours because this place gets really busy on weekends. The service is quick and worth the wait. What I got here is the double Matcha and boy did they make a mean one. It is the perfect sweetness at 50%. It has a very good consistency. I also recommend getting the salted bread.
Ayer has quickly become my favorite matcha in OC. The staff is always friendly. Line is out the door. But worth it. If you're a matcha lover, this place is a must-visit. Matcha 2 (5/5): The best matcha I've had in Orange County! The matcha flavor is strong, and the balance is perfect. This is my go-to drink every time I visit.

Wait time is about 20 mins including placing order and getting your drinks. Salt bread is always out when I get to the front, so haven't been able to comment on that. Appreciated that the base is all oat milk here though! Strawberry coffee (very faint taste of strawberry) Blueberry coffee (delicious blueberry compote) Blueberry matcha (pretty good!) Hojicha banana coffee (unexpectedly delicious!) Guava matcha (pretty good!) Would be back to try other options available and recommend others to try as well.

Come in knowing what you want to order! The setup is pretty unique. you walk in, tell the barista your order first, and then head over to the cash register to pay. I actually thought the system was pretty dope and efficient. That said, I can definitely see how it could be frustrating if you're indecisive or it's your first time visiting, so I'd recommend looking at the menu beforehand if you can. I ordered the Matcha #2, and my husband got the Saigon Drip. Once your drink is ready, they hand it directly to you, which keeps the process moving. As for the drinks, they were just okay. The matcha wasn't anything too special. It leaned more on the watery side and reminded me a lot of Junbi's matcha. Not much matcha flavor. Considering the line, I was expecting a little more. My husband liked the Saigon Drip, but we both thought it tasted pretty similar to Lee's Coffee. It had a slight salty note, which we actually enjoy, but the coffee flavor itself wasn't as bold as we were hoping for. Overall, I'm glad we gave it a try, and the staff was really friendly. It was a fun experience but I personally don't think it's worth waiting in a long line for. I'd maybe come back, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice.
People weren't kidding when they said there's always a line here! I came at 8:15am on a Tuesday before work and waited about 15 minutes in line, 5 minutes to get my drinks. I guess a lot of people had the same idea to get their matchas before work lol. I got the Matcha Two and it was sooo good. Strong matcha flavor and love the lil matcha powder detail on top! I could see myself coming here before work more often. There's a lot of workers working hard to hand whisk the matchas and they're all super friendly!!

Pretty solid coffee and really really good matcha per my wife LOL. I'm not a huge matcha person so I can't really tell the difference, but she told me it's worth the hype! Don't get discouraged when you see the line outside. They only let 1-3 people inside at a time to order so everyone has to wait outside. I was at the end of the 1st/2nd store? and it only took about 10min to order. There was about 10-13 people in front of me. Then it took about another 10min to get my order, so it wasn't a terrible wait. Ordered Banana Coffee - 4/5 - nothing crazy viet coffee with bananas, but one of the better ones Matcha 1 - for pure matcha flavors Matcha 2 - for some light dressing on the matcha salted matcha foam Salted Bread - 3/5 idk just tasted like bread with butter/salt LMAO Personally if I have to wait 30min+ i wouldn't but if you can get there early and it's only around 10min wait I think it's a solid spot. read more

Just have to order the right thing...Right now I'm loving the coconut water matcha, which has two of my favorite things, and the matcha one which, by default, comes with oat milk. Anything with ice cream is just too extra for me read more

Super TLDR: -Loved the Matcha Two, will try Mango Matcha next. -Matcha was creamy, smooth, & perfectly sweet. -It was awesome to see the employees whisk each individual portion in their matcha bowls in the kitchen. -Most drinks use Oat Milk by default, can adjust sugar to less sweet. -About $6-$8 per drink. -Parking lot is semi-crowded, and wait time is about 20 minutes, as there's always a line. -Orders come out pretty timely & definitely coming back again! read more
Ayer is worth the hype! Be prepared to wait- I got there just before 9 AM and there was already a line and it doubled by the time I left. The matcha is top tier in quality and flavor. Super vibrant and the banana foam and toppings was a perfect pairing. The Korean Salt Bread was a wonderful snack, and resembled a bread/butter roll with extra salt. The workers were super nice even with a huge line. Can't wait to come back! read more
My favorite everrrr!!! Best matcha & flavors, always has a line outside the door. Though the lines are long, the max I've ever waited AFTER ordering is 5-10minutes. Parking lot but can get filled during peak hours. They also sell salt bread but they didn't have it today. (Heard great things about it though) TLDR: Matcha 2 is one of my favorite double matchas. Their fruit matchas are super refreshing & the purées are fresh & not superficial tasting at all. Really looking to explore more of their drinks since they all look super yummy. read more
Drinks here are sooo good. Hojicha is good, with a proper tea flavor and not watered down at all. The banana hojicha is super good. Definitely can see why the other reviews rave about it. The black sesame coffee latte didn't have much of a black sesame flavor, even with the black sesame cream mixed in. But the coffee flavor was good. Employees are friendly and prepare the drinks with a sense of urgency. Even with a long line, it wasn't a long wait. read more

First time going on a weekend afternoon, there was a long line outside and no parking. Matcha #2 is chef's kiss. Got a bit of salty cream that makes it special. They were out of their Korean bread. Drink was so good, we went again a couple days later. Second time going on a morning work day, there was parking and a small line. Same matcha drink and although early, they had already run out of the Koran bread. I may never get to try it :( Family got Matcha #1 and 3, so I got to try them. They're all good but #2 is the fave! read more

Went on a Monday morning at 9:30am and lines were already forming! It's a small order and go shop, no place to sit and chill. They also have Korean bread which you should definitely try! Tried out their double matcha and coconut coffee! Both were really good! It is on the less sweet side fyi, in my opinion I think it could use a little more sweetness but I still enjoyed the drinks none the less! This place is pretty solid! But I am not sure if I would wait more than 30 mins if the line was super backed up! Luckily the wait was only about 20 mins from waiting in line to receiving the drinks. read more
Ayer is my absolute favorite matcha place in Orange County. I am a matcha snob. If you love strong matcha, their matcha 3 is quite loaded with matcha, the matcha gelato in it is chef's kiss, as it melts the iciness makes the drink so extra yummy. I recently tried the guava matcha and added a matcha cream top because I like my matcha strong and creamy and WOW I am seriously impressed. I did get the mango matcha once and I thought it was okay~ not my fave mango matcha. Downside is the parking lot which can be quite busy and also the wait is always at least 20 minutes to 1 hour. You can't be in a hurry if you grab matcha here. I haven't tried the coffee yet. The workers are always kind. The shop itself is quite tiny and there is a singular tiny bench you can sit in and wait for your drinks. Otherwise it's a grab your drink and go type of place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more
Soo popular even during a weekday theres a line. I think the wait took around 30 minutes and voicing others the drink does come out fast. Its a grab and go place, but theres just one little plaza parking which can be hard to have available spots sometimes. They handwhisk the matcha. The matcha is okay, Its not astrigent and bitter, but not high quality enough to drink plain with water and definitely suits more sweet drinks, has that milky texture with some savoury notes (matcha part just soso) The guava milk part of the drink was soo delicious and creamy, not sure how to put it but it was definitely my first time having like a guava custard flavored drink. So I'd recommend their mixed flavor drinks. read more
Went on a Friday afternoon and there was a line so hesitated on waiting, but the line moved rather quickly so don't let it detour you! From waiting to getting my drink, it took 15 minutes. I got the matcha two and the hojicha latte and they were both really good. There's not many coffee shops where I actually enjoy their matcha but this place actually has good smooth matcha with the perfect blend of sweetness and matcha flavor. That goes the same with the hojicha, many places have it too milky or watered down that you can't taste the tea, but they did their hojicha well too. Will definitely come back and try their other more unique combinations and standard coffee too! Plenty of parking as it's in a plaza but only downside is there's no seating for you to hang out while having your drink. read more
Ok so I've heard a lot of good things about this place so I was really excited to try it! It was such a tough decision choosing which matcha to order since they have so many different flavors, including guava and black sesame which both sound incredible! First off, I want to say that the service was great! 10/10! The people taking my order were so nice and they even brought my drink outside for me. I opted for the banana matcha because I love banana matcha and I've seen people post about it online. To be completely honest I thought it was just okay. I mean the matcha was good, but I actually didn't really like the banana foam by itself. For example, I love Taty's banana cream and could eat that stuff by the spoonful. However, when I mixed it in the matcha it tasted much better for some reason. The toffee bits also add a nice crunch. Overall I'd give it a 6.5/10. I'd definitely be willing to give Ayer another try before forming a conclusive opinion on their matcha. Their matcha quality is good, so I think I just need to try a different drink. read more
Finally! I got to try this coffee place! I have tried at least 5 times and all the times the line is at the end of the shopping center where it's located. I took my chances today being a Friday at 10 am to see if I got lucky. I saw a line but it was only like 10 people deep. So I stayed. This place is basically you order your drink and stand outside and wait for it. It doesn't have seating tables . That's probably why the line moves kind of fast. The ladies at the counter and at the register are very friendly and keep the line going pretty good. I ordered the banana coffee with cream tools and it was delicious. I wish they had a bigger size of it. They only have one size. The drink was the perfect consistency of coffee and sweetness. It was so tasty. Definitely coming back but during the week. read more
The line was pretty long when I first arrived, but it moved surprisingly fast. The service was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The quality of the matcha was outstanding. You can really tell they use high-quality matcha because the flavor was vibrant, rich, and incredibly smooth. I would definitely come back again! read more
If you see a line out the door, you're in the right place! Ayer can get pretty crowded on weekends, and the parking lot fills up fast. But the line moves pretty steadily! They only allow one party in the shop at a time. You order with one person, and then they send you to the cashier to pay. Once you place your order, the drinks come out pretty quickly. I love a good Blueberry Matcha, so I knew I had to try one. The matcha latte has oat milk and their house blueberry puree. I really enjoyed it! They also have their Matcha Lattes "One," "Two," and "Three." We opted for the Matcha Three which includes salted matcha vanilla ice cream and matcha sorbet, oat milk, and house vanilla syrup. It was pretty good! Lastly, we got the Coconut Pandan Green Rice drink which sounded unique! It's ice blended with coconut cream, pandan coconut rice, and condensed milk. It's a thicker drink with more texture from the rice. I'll be back! read more

Got in line at 10:35am on a Friday. Got my drinks at 11:15. Was it worth it? If you have time, yes! The matcha 2 and salted Saigon were incredible. They were out of bread which was a bummer. Service was sooo friendly and helpful. The price is pretty good too. I've had really good matchas at a couple other places, that were a bit more expensive but shorter wait. So, you decide if you want it. I'll be back for that salt bread! read more
The first time I tried to come here, there was a line out the door. I thought there was a promotion or something but it was just their line. Apparently it's small inside so they only allow 1 group in at a time. So this 2nd time, I decided to stay and wait out the line. I did time it and it took 15 from the time we waited in line to order to getting our drinks. So not bad. I got the blueberry latte less sweet-I enjoyed my drink, first time having blueberry. There was a good amount of blueberry syrup and I'm glad I got it less sweet. My friend go the banana matcha and she liked it. The toasted crunch added was a nice touch. Definitely a treat. Their matcha is high quality and delicious! The matcha 3 has basically 3 servings of matcha! It has a bitterness. The coconut pandan smoothie was ok. It sounds really good on the menu, especially reading the ingredients. But would not get it again. The service is efficient. There was a line and we waited about 25 minutes. And the drinks came out within 10 minutes. Ambiance is a small shop and they sell their own matcha powder and hojicha. read more
This place is definitely worth the hype! I ordered the Strawberry Matcha with Sea Salt Cream Foam and the Matcha Latte, and both were delicious. They were sweet, creamy, and had a rich matcha flavor without being overpowering. My favorite was the Strawberry Matcha--the flavors were incredibly well balanced. The fresh strawberry purée added a refreshing, natural sweetness that paired perfectly with the matcha and cream foam. Blueberry matcha. That is it. Long line!!! but it goes by surprisingly fast. One thing I love is that they make sure that only one group is inside ordering at a time. Once indoors, you can see how they prepare their matcha in a big batch. Love that!! Hence why the line goes by so quickly. I also appreciate the Dairy warning sign on their menu. The person checking me out was such a sweetie. They asked about my weekend plans and sounded genuinely interested, Glad to see they keep a good attitude despite being so busy. Definitely the best Vietnamese coffee I've had, and I've tried a lot. The Salted Saigon had the perfect balance of flavors. My friend got the Coconut Matcha and it was surprisingly delicious too. The line looks intimidating but moved pretty fast -- about 20 mins when we went and totally worth it. Parking can be rough. Amazing service too, the ladies working there were so sweet and welcoming. read more
I stopped by Ayer on a Sunday around 3:30 PM and there was a line as expected. It only looks long because the line starts out the door, with the inside of the shop having two stations: one station is to place your order and the other is to pay for your drinks. It's a small coffee shop and is more of a grab-and-go place. Despite how busy they get, the workers are very friendly and efficient. A male worker (who I believe was the owner) who was regulating the line was very kind and apologized about the wait. Shows the care that they have for their customers. I ordered the mango matcha, which are two of my favorite things. The flavors compliment each other well with a good balance between the two rather than one flavor overpowering the other. It reminded me of a mango lassi with a hint of matcha. The drink is overall very refreshing and smooth, and I would recommend it if you're looking to try a more unique matcha drink. read more

[Parking]: Easy and free strip mall parking. [Atmosphere]: This is a grab-and-go-only shop with no indoor tables. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Mango Matcha, Salted Saigon, and Matcha Latte. They also sell Korean salt bread in limited quantity, so come early before it sells out. *** Signature Korean Salt Bread (Limited Daily - $4.50): A bit cold but tasted good. Mango Matcha (Made with oat milk & mango purée - $7.50): I see the appeal - the drink was quite good. The matcha did not taste overly diluted and the sweetness level was solid. *** Overall this is a 5-star-worthy matcha shop in Orange County. read more

Stopped by earlier today and there was a short line. Parking was easy since it's located in a plaza. Ordering and paying was nicely organized. Service was so friendly!!! I ordered the Matcha Two (less sweet + oat milk) and also purchased a 40 gram tin of their matcha. Once you're finished paying, you stand outside until they call you with your order. They called my name fairly quick and my drink was BEAUTIFUL. The color was a perfect shade of green. I have no notes (I'm a picky person when it comes to my matcha). 10/10! read more
It's organized and run efficiently. The line wasn't too bad and imo moves quickly. Once you order and pay, the drinks come out fast. The cashier was super friendly and very cheery. I got Matcha Two and my sister got Mango Matcha. I was between Matcha Two and Strawberry Matcha but decided to go with Matcha Two. It was satisfactory, but I've had better. My sister really wanted to try their Signature Korean Salt Bread but they had already sold out. They probably had literally just sold out shortly before because we saw people eating it/ were able to purchase one. Parking was easy to find.
