Really cool and chill spot. The shared parking space is limited with the amount of crowds visiting. Most of the seats were shaded but some seats were right under the SoCal sun. This tea has great customer service. The line moved fairly quickly. The dessert and tea were served in a timely manner. You will see their baristas brushing the matcha powders. The selections of matcha could be confusing for the first time. But the server will explain with patience. The order came quickly. Their ice cream dessert was delicious with soft mocha like with red bean and vanilla ice cream sprinkled with matcha powder. The milk and matcha was smooth. Very disappointing experience and extremely poor customer service. The first time I visited this matcha shop, I ordered 10 cups of matcha, each around $11 for an 8 oz cup. The staff asked if I wanted whole milk or another type of milk. I asked if they had oat milk, and they changed it for me, but they never told me there would be an extra $2 charge for the milk. The second time, I came back and ordered three of their cheapest 8 oz matcha drinks, which were $9 each. I told them I was not drinking them right away, so I did not want ice. I never asked for extra milk. However, when I tried the drinks, they were mostly milk and barely tasted like matcha. When I mentioned this, instead of offering to remake the drinks or fix the problem, the employee was told me that I have to pay extra for more matcha because their matcha is expensive. And also told me next time, if I order no ice, I need to specifically tell them to not add extra milk. I have never experienced this kind of customer service at a drink shop before. The matcha is already very expensive, and I feel that the mistake was made by the shop, but I was still have to pay an additional $4 to fix the drink. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. I think my order was absolutely perfect. Super strong matcha, right amount of sweetness, and the most perfect shade of green. I also got to try the matcha latte but half sweet with maple. Came on a Saturday afternoon to try this new matcha place at the Camp. Ambience is super nice despite the limited space being and line moved pretty fast for how many people were being served. The matcha was good but personally not sure if it warranted the price (the matcha latte went up from $9 to $10 in the couple of weeks since someone's yelp photo of the menu). We got the matcha latte, hojicha latte, and house matcha - the lattes tasted a little bland/watery to us and I personally would've liked more sweetness to balance the earthiness of the matcha. Very nice tea house and the staff was very kind. Definitely a long 20 minute line if you go at lunch on a Saturday. I recommend going with someone so they can grab a table while you wait in line. I don't think Chafinity is as enjoyable if you get your drink to-go. The ambiance of sitting down cannot be replaced. Unfortunately, they gave me the wrong tea for my teapot, the Gyokuro, but it was still good. They give you enough hot water for 3 teapot refills. Given that the wait was long and it was gonna take a while for me to get my order, I didn't expect much until I waited 40 minutes till I didn't get my Matcha latte. I've been obsessing over Chafinity since they were just doing farmers markets on the weekends. I was so excited when they started selling their matcha powder at Mitsuwa and doing pop-ups at The Camp before permanently settling there. Chafinity is different from other matcha spots in the area. Everything feels very intentional -- from how they make the matcha, to the ingredients they use, to even the music they play. This is one of the few places I've been to where all the matcha are hand-whisked and you can see the worker prepares your drink through the clear glass. The drink isn't rushed. Came on a weekday around noon and there was no wait (saw that there was a long wait on weekends). The camp is always busy in terms of parking even mid day on a weekday the lot was pretty full and we had to circle around once to find a spot. The overall ambiance is amazing! So cute and feels intimate with small tables under foliage. Service was also really good. Matcha itself was yummy however the milk kind of overpowers the matcha (they actually told us this about the oat milk and recommended almond milk instead which is lighter so we switched one of the drinks to almond milk) but next time would probably go with just matcha tea without milk. The deserts were delicious though!! The strawberry on the strawberry daifuku was so sweet and ripe and the mochi was so soft. Come early because they run out - we got the last sesame mochi on a Tuesday around noon and it was sooo yummy highly recommend. It's a lovely place to drink matcha and chat with friends. Second time came back at an off time, say Wednesday at 3p and success. Were able to order after waiting in queue for only about 5 mins. Ordered two iced matcha lattes with walnut milk and it hit. The drink wasn't as matcha forward as we would have liked but the milk tasted so good that we didn't mind the milk forwardness. They had another milk add-on with a $3 upcharge (wild!!) but I think have recently updated it to $2 (still wild!). Prices are not for the faint here at Chafinity. You get the sense that someone actually thought about how people move through the space instead of simply trying to push a line through. The tea house itself is tiny and beautifully understated. You can see much of the preparation happening behind the counter and whether it's the equipment, the careful whisking or simply the pace of everyone working there, it creates immediate confidence that they care about what they're making. The matcha was excellent. Smooth, rich, earthy and not overloaded with sweetness like so many places today. Whether you're enough of an expert to tell the difference between ceremonial grades is another question, but it tastes clean, feels thoughtfully prepared and somehow makes you slow down. Maybe that's the point. The downside is the price. Around $14 for a relatively small drink is hard to ignore. You're paying as much for the experience as you are for the tea. It's also surprisingly warm inside. There isn't much airflow, so on a hot Southern California afternoon it can get uncomfortable if you're planning to linger. Still, the experience stays with you. The drinks are beautiful, the atmosphere is calming and everything feels intentionally crafted instead of mass produced. I don't know if drinking premium matcha makes me healthier, but it certainly makes me feel like I'm making a better decision than grabbing another sugary coffee. Is it worth $14 every day? The matcha shop competition continues with Chafinity which recently opened in the CAMP plaza. Although some of the pricing is on the pricier side, I do think for the most part, the experience and flavors are worthwhile. First, not a fault of Chafinity but if it's your first time coming to the CAMP plaza, you should be aware that parking is pretty scarce, especially around the busier lunch periods. There is valet for $6 available as another option. Chafinity itself is an outdoors cafe that is near the back of the CAMP area. Loved the decor and ambiance with a very peaceful vibe and great set-up/stall that has some merchandise/matcha powder as you get near the cashier. On a Saturday, yes, it was pretty busy. The line was out the entry area and took about 20 minutes (ish). That also means that tables in the vicinity are a little tough to come by. Some people waited + hovered around, but there was also at least a lot of areas to roam around. Let's talk about what we got!: *Matcha latte: The matcha latte was solid for me. They had either oat milk or some homemade nut milks that were interesting! They also give samples for the nut milks as well. I ended up going with the oat and the strawberry mochi. The matcha wasn't too earthy and the oat milk didn't overpower. I also didn't go with any syrup, but they did have some near the napkins if you needed to add them. *Mochi: They had several different kinds of mochi from strawberry to black sesame as well as some weekly specials. I think the black sesame was good and the weekly special. I thought the strawberry was the weakest of the ones we tried since it was just a big strawberry on top of a regular red bean filled mochi. *Yuzu matcha: This was a fizzy drink with sparkling water, maple syrup, yuzu, and matcha. I also adjusted the sweetness to 50%. I'm assuming it is the sweetness adjustment but unfortunately didn't work for me. I could only really taste the sparkling water and a little bit of the matcha and not much of the yuzu. Would recommend either going with the full sweetness. I saw this tea house on Instagram and looked very popular so thought I would check it out! It is a very small cute authentic Japanese teahouse. not really much seating The Matcha is basic in terms of just Matcha and milk. The only sweeteners they have are a maple syrup and honey. There are no fruit flavors. The milks our homemade, but the oat milk is rice based so I ordered the almond which I didn't care for. My only downfall with this place is after I ordered and paid, the girl told me it would be a 30 minute wait which would've been nice to know prior to ordering. It is a bit on the expensive side, but it has great quality. Not sure I would visit again, but it is authentic and made in front of you, which is kind of cute! read more

This place was almost hidden, tucked away. Had several seating area. The menu is small and a cashless establishment. The staff was friendly and helpful. The drinks came out in a timely manner. If ordering matcha you can see it being made directly in front of you. read more
