Shizouka - Creamy Pistachio Matcha 开心果厚抹 (with lactose free whole milk): delish!!
Kathy S.

Found this matcha shop on Yelp because I'm in my matcha era. I've tried matcha at many places including Desouro, Febe, Junbi, Airoma, Ruma Latte, Ayer, etc and I'm convinced Mori's matcha is most memorable. The matcha is well balanced and earthy but not "dirty-". I don't like matcha that tastes like grass. The Shizouka creamy pistachio latte with lactose free (love!!!) whole milk was divine- smooth, subtly sweet, yet has a bold matcha flavor. The double matcha latte was slightly less sweet but has an umami boldness to it. I appreciated the difference between these 2 matcha drinks. There was minimal interaction with staff as you order at the kiosk then pick up your drink at the counter. This place gets crowded but we luckily beat the crowd today! I'd love to come back to try other drinks and their rice bowls.

The shop is very small, but they do have some seating available both inside and outside. You can order using a tablet or directly with a staff member. They have quite a few matcha options, so I'd recommend ordering with a person if it's your first time and you have questions about the different options. I got the Uji Matcha Latte and added the Rich option because I wanted a stronger matcha flavor. Unfortunately, it mostly just tasted like milk, and I could barely taste the matcha. For a place with so much hype around its matcha, I was expecting a much more pronounced matcha flavor. Maybe I just ordered the wrong drink, but based on this visit, I wasn't particularly impressed. I wanted to love this place, but it fell a little short of the expectations set by the reviews.

Make Mori's your next must-go matcha stop! They're known for their gorgeous matcha lattes. Their matcha menu is pretty extensive with lots of creative foams, purees, and more! I opted for the seasonal Mango Matcha Latte. It tasted like summer in a cup! The matcha was STRONG and was the most beautiful vibrant green. The mango puree was sweet (in a very natural and non-artificial way) and added such refreshing notes. Love! I also grabbed an Egg Salad Sando from their fridge, but wasn't the biggest fan. It was pretty salty....? It tasted like salted egg between bread. Would come again for the drinks, but maybe not the bites.

Such a cute little matcha shop with a minimal aesthetic and limited seating. The banana matcha was phenomenal! Service was fast, friendly, and professional, and parking was easy. I'd definitely come back to try more of their drinks and food

I am so bummed because I thought I would love this place. Unfortunately this was a waste of $30. I want to start off that their order process is simple - at the counter or the kiosk. The staff seem to be more focused on getting out orders so I do recommend ordering at the kiosk otherwise you may be standing a while. Banana cloud matcha: 3.5/5 The banana cloud portion was heavenly. My drink came out quickly. I got it at regular sweetness (50%), however after tasting it, I wish I got it at 75%. Though the matcha was very bright, it lacked flavor and fell flat. Food: here is where things went very wrong. I ordered my bowl after 12, which they note would come warm. It was barely room temp. My chicken also had a piece of eggshell on it (visible through the lid), and a hair... at that point I was thinking "what else am I going to find in here". I picked off the egg shell, no biggie, but finding a hair on the chicken in addition was very off putting. I didn't have time to go back and ask them to remake but it was certainly a waste. I'm fully aware that the staff are college students but they need to wear hair nets and ensure food waste isn't making its way into orders.

Interesting matcha drinks. We were in the area to fix up our bike and wanted to check out a matcha place that's unique to Irvine. Mori's was nearby and had great reviews, so we stopped by not realizing there was a 2-year anniversary BOGO event. Parking was easy in the front. Some spots are listed for 10 minutes or 30 minutes parking. There was also a parking garage. For the 2-year anniversary, if we spent over $15, we could spin the wheel. We won a Mori magnet that was heavy duty. Out front, they had a decoration station of your cups. Service was fast considering there was a promotion on their season drinks. Only the pumpkin or mango seasonal drinks were BOGO 50% off. I ordered the Shizouka Matcha Latte with regular sweetness (50%). It wasn't too sweet, so I should have went with extra sweetness. The matcha was chalky with a fruity aftertaste. It kind of tasted like mango before I tried the Mango Coco Pomelo Matcha Latte. I liked the sago in the Mango Coco Pomelo. However, the mango wasn't that strong after I mixed the Mango Coco Pomelo Matcha. Maybe due to the event and flux of customers, the drinks didn't taste as good as I expected due to the reviews. The service was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

YUMMY MATCHA THAT USE CEROMONIAL Mori's is next to UCI and their matcha are amazing, the staffs are friendly and helpful I got banana matcha, pistachio cream, blueberry hojicha, and guava matcha They use different matcha for different flavor profile and you can tell they take their time to select the matcha, nutty drinks like pistachio uses shizoku Cream top are delicious and not too sweet There are some parking in front of the store or there is parking structure behind specifically for retail parking The inside is well decorated and has nice seatings inside and out, cute small shop pumping out awesome matcha latte

-Drinks: I've tried both their banana matcha and pistachio matcha latte. The matcha taste is strong. Both were solid drinks, and the banana cream topping was especially tasty. -Parking: Parking is a little limited, and most spots are only 30-minute parking. That said, it's usually not too hard to find a spot. -Service: Customer service is alright. Most of the times I've been there, the staff didn't seem to be in the best or most energetic mood. -Ambiance: The shop has its own cute vibe, but it's pretty small, so I wouldn't say it's the best spot for studying. They do have a few tables outside.

It's just okay matcha if you live nearby. I think there's better cafes in Irvine though

The cutest little matcha shop tucked away in a residential strip mall between apartments and high rise condos. In addition to having great quality matcha, they really craft some amazing flavored drinks that aren't overly sweet or artificial. They also have a food menu, and great grab and go options. They don't have interior seating but, do have a couple of tables outside. The staff is so nice and pleasant, and they really take their time to craft your drinks with attention to detail! If you're a true matcha lover, Mori's is a must visit!

So good! Jealous of all the students who get access to great matcha all the time. I loved the Creamy Pistachio Matcha latte! I ordered it less sweet, and it was the perfect level. As someone who hates overly sweetened drinks, I appreciate the ability to customize any drink and how they use a light hand when it comes to sugar levels. Big fan of the cheese foam--it balances the drink nicely. Overall great selection of drinks and the matcha is solid!

Mori's. Finally made it here. Very lucky to find a parking spot right away in front Good selection of matcha drinks. Got a Shizuoka. Great quality matcha flavor. Wasn't too sweet. Sugar didn't over power the matcha flavor. Customer service was great. Ordered through a kiosk. And the drinks came out pretty quick. Definitely be back to try the other flavors

- plenty of parking out front, it's situated within an apartment complex - it's compact inside and not too study/work friendly, though good for chatting - there was so much variety in the menu! It seems they introduce new flavors and drinks pretty often so that keeps things interesting - staff was super sweet! We went near closing but she was still accommodating and attentive (1) shizouka matcha (rich for +$1) - it was so bright and refreshing! The aftertaste of the matcha was creamy and almost fruity? It was very enjoyable. The 25% sweetness was perfect for me (2) double matcha: - a more indulgent drink with that cheesy matcha foam - it's slightly lighter in matcha flavor compared to the first drink but still tasty! - this matcha flavor profile is more mellow

INCREDIBLE. every single bite tastes like it was made with so much care, quality, and love. my friends and i usually get the kids' meals, which are surprisingly generous and leave us completely satisfied. somehow, even after all this time, the food never gets old. the chicken kebab is out of this world. i cannot even begin to describe how delicious it is. and the RICE OH MY GOODNESS. especially with lemon squeezed over it? i could genuinely eat it every single day for the rest of my life and never, ever get tired of it. the fries are perfectly crispy, and if you have not tried dipping a fry into the baklava ice cream, please, do yourself this favor. it is a combination so sensational that words cannot do it justice. the salad is unbelievably fresh, vibrant, and flavorful, to the point where it makes me want to abandon every other food group and eat nothing but salad forever. and the new cucumber mint lemonade!! it is so refreshing, so bright, so delicious, and so unbelievably perfect that i wish i could have an endless supply of it. every single thing i have tried here feels like a little reminder of how wonderful food can be. but as incredible as the food is, what makes the great greek truly, truly unforgettable is the people. nadeem and eli, the manager and owner, are genuinely some of the kindest people ever, the chef is so sweet and always smiles and waves, and the service here is beyond anything i could possibly ask for. everyone is so warm, welcoming, and thoughtful, and the fact that the employees recognize us when we come in makes me happier than i can explain. there is something so touching about walking into a place and feeling like you are remembered, like your presence matters, like you are not just another customer passing through the door. they have created an atmosphere that feels so welcoming and safe, and i am genuinely so grateful for that. their kindness makes an already wonderful experience feel absolutely magical. i cannot emphasize enough how much this place means to me and my friends. there is something so rare and beautiful about finding a restaurant that you love not only because the food is phenomenal, but because of the memories you make there, the people who welcome you, and the feeling you get every time you walk through the door. the great greek has become part of our story, part of our friendship, and part of so many moments that i will always look back on fondly. i am so, so grateful that a place like this exists, and even more grateful that we get to be part of its little community. thank you, thank you, thank you, great greek! thank you for the incredible food, the wonderful service, the endless kindness, and the countless happy memories. thank you to nadeem, eli, and every single employee who makes this place so special. you have no idea how much joy you bring to people, and i hope you know how deeply appreciated you are. if i could give this restaurant a million stars, i would without a single hesitation. i love the great greek so much, and i hope it stays around forever and ever!!! some places feed you, but this place genuinely feeds your soul

The salmon was cooked well with just enough of the miso glaze. The steamed veggies and trumpet mushrooms were a nice addition to the meal. I wish there were slightly more mushrooms, only because I'm a big fan. The poke was DELISH. Definitely one of our favorites. Poke was fresh and the rest of the ingredients complimented the poke. The french dip was also good, but would have been better with the regular pita. The GF pita didn't hold well and was falling apart before we took our first bite. I've heard the Peruvian Steak, Prosciutto, and Chicken are good too! My only feedback with the Happy Hippie is that there is slightly too much filling, so it falls when you are eating the sandwich. Each of their sandwiches comes with two halves and is filling and satisfying. They also use fresh, vibrant vegetables, and a store associate told me their bread is baked fresh every day! Service: The service here is half the reason I come! A lovely store associate will guide you when ordering, and they will bring the food right to you! When they bring the food, there are two napkins on the tray. If they see you carrying your tray after you are finished eating, they will also offer to take it for you! Although the sandwich prices are slightly premium, you are paying for their healthy ingredients and exceptional service! Ambiance: This restaurant is spacious with many tables on the inside and outside! Their bathrooms are also really clean and well kept! Please go here for a healthy, non-bloating meal when you're in the area!

8/05/26 5:18 p.m. University Town Center…read more I decided to try the Peruvian Steak today without avocado. I usually order the Not So Fried Chicken, but I wanted to switch things up. I'd rate the Peruvian Steak an 8.5/10. The bread was perfectly toasted, the mustard added just the right amount of kick, and all of the flavors complemented each other well. It would have been a perfect 10/10 if one side of the bottom bun hadn't been completely soggy from the mustard spilling out of the sandwich. I ordered my sandwich to go, so if I had waited until I got home to eat it, I think the entire bottom of the sandwich would have been soggy. That was disappointing. For to-go orders, I think Mendocino Farms should automatically serve the mustard in a separate sauce container to help prevent this issue. My other qualm was with the pickup process. When I received the text that my order was ready, it read: "Your order at Mendocino Farms - 10 - UC Irvine is ready for pickup. Please proceed to the counter." Some restaurants have signs explaining whether customers should grab their to-go orders themselves or wait for a team member to assist them. I waited patiently at the counter for several minutes while a team member saw me standing there but didn't acknowledge me. After about five minutes, I finally asked, "Can I grab my order?" The process felt confusing and could have been communicated more clearly. Overall, I thought the sandwich was delicious and a great portion size. However, I think the to-go process could use some improvement. I ended up eating my sandwich in the restaurant because I could already see the bread becoming soggy when I picked it up, which wasn't part of my original plan.

Inside was decorated really nice, the ambiance was cute and everything was very clean. The service was great, we were unsure on the drink so the cashier made a good recommendation. The pesto chicken sando is what we came for and I was not a total fan of it. I think I was expecting more of a burst of flavor, but it truly tasted how it sounds - chicken with pesto and arugula. The star of the sandwich was the marinated tomatoes, these were fantastic, I wish there were more tomatoes and slightly less chicken to get a more even ratio going. For the price point, I wouldn't get this again. All in all, the sandwich wasn't bad, it was just as expected. Will have to check out the egg salad sando and the beef sando next time, they looked great! The prime beef curry bread was delicious, very tender chunks of beef and the curry had a slight spice. Really good panko crusted bread. Would get this again! The honey toast was great as well, it tasted almost like a custard on top. Had a nice crust and fluffy interior. The Goma matcha latte was not my favorite, it was very Goma forward and I couldn't really taste the matcha. Additionally, it was a little clumpy so when you would sip it you would get a clump of Goma. If I came back, I would likely stick to the pastries as they were standard priced and pretty big for that price. The sandos, I may or may not try again, they were all around $16+ and were stuffed, but still on the small size. I am glad I tried it!
