Mori's is pretty hidden but super cute and welcoming establishment! I ordered a coconut coffee and it was pretty good, you are able to adjust the sweetness of your drinks which is really convenient. I got 50% sweet and the drink itself was really satisfying as the coconut flavor in the coffee really popped out (I usually find other coffee places to lack a good coconut flavor but this place did amazing). Not to mention, I absolutely adore the workers here, the kindest young ladies ever! They made my day with their compliments and generous customer service! Definitely recommend everyone to give this place a try!
-Drinks: I've tried both their banana matcha and pistachio matcha latte. The matcha taste is strong. Both were solid drinks, and the banana cream topping was especially tasty. -Parking: Parking is a little limited, and most spots are only 30-minute parking. That said, it's usually not too hard to find a spot. -Service: Customer service is alright. Most of the times I've been there, the staff didn't seem to be in the best or most energetic mood. -Ambiance: The shop has its own cute vibe, but it's pretty small, so I wouldn't say it's the best spot for studying. They do have a few tables outside.
The cutest little matcha shop tucked away in a residential strip mall between apartments and high rise condos. In addition to having great quality matcha, they really craft some amazing flavored drinks that aren't overly sweet or artificial. They also have a food menu, and great grab and go options. They don't have interior seating but, do have a couple of tables outside. The staff is so nice and pleasant, and they really take their time to craft your drinks with attention to detail! If you're a true matcha lover, Mori's is a must visit!
So good! Jealous of all the students who get access to great matcha all the time. I loved the Creamy Pistachio Matcha latte! I ordered it less sweet, and it was the perfect level. As someone who hates overly sweetened drinks, I appreciate the ability to customize any drink and how they use a light hand when it comes to sugar levels. Big fan of the cheese foam--it balances the drink nicely. Overall great selection of drinks and the matcha is solid!
Mori's. Finally made it here. Very lucky to find a parking spot right away in front Good selection of matcha drinks. Got a Shizuoka. Great quality matcha flavor. Wasn't too sweet. Sugar didn't over power the matcha flavor. Customer service was great. Ordered through a kiosk. And the drinks came out pretty quick. Definitely be back to try the other flavors
- plenty of parking out front, it's situated within an apartment complex - it's compact inside and not too study/work friendly, though good for chatting - there was so much variety in the menu! It seems they introduce new flavors and drinks pretty often so that keeps things interesting - staff was super sweet! We went near closing but she was still accommodating and attentive (1) shizouka matcha (rich for +$1) - it was so bright and refreshing! The aftertaste of the matcha was creamy and almost fruity? It was very enjoyable. The 25% sweetness was perfect for me (2) double matcha: - a more indulgent drink with that cheesy matcha foam - it's slightly lighter in matcha flavor compared to the first drink but still tasty! - this matcha flavor profile is more mellow
I didn't expect to like this place, but the moment I turned my head and saw displays of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha, as well as seeing it being used in their kitchen, my eyes lit up. I knew that was a sign that their matcha was going to be legit. What I ordered: Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte DRINK: 8/10 I think next time I'm going to order a plain Iced Matcha Latte with no fixings. The Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte was good, but the strawberry tasted a bit too sweet and artificial for my liking (it's actual strawberry puree as the owner mentions below, which is worth mentioning). I could be wrong, but I think without the strawberry, the matcha itself would shine even more. SERVICE: 8/10 You order through the self-kiosks, and my drink came out really quickly. Serving was very straightforward and quick, which makes sense since this is more of an in-and-out kind of spot. AMBIANCE: 7/10 A cozy, tiny spot that's more suitable for grab-and-go. There are a few indoor seats, as well as some outdoor seating, but I'd probably come here more for the drinks to go than to hang out.
Excellent matcha!! Hidden between apartments and corporate buildings, you wouldn't expect to find quality matcha tucked away here. Service is fast and everything I'm looking for in searching for a legit matcha place Tried Guava matcha which was great because a lot place don't do them. Def recommend I would also recommend the Hojicha Extra points for having multiple options for Japanese matcha from different regions!

I had this place bookmarked for a while so was excited to finally try this spot given its good reviews. Upon entering, you see the place has very limited seating and limited outdoor parking as well. I got the Shizouka matcha latte. The staff asked if I wanted original, rich or extra rich, so I picked extra rich for more matcha flavor. It wasn't until check out did I realize it was an extra $2 charge! The staff didn't inform me of this so I ended up getting the original. This drink was quite disappointing. For a place that specialzies in their matcha, you can't taste much matcha flavor at all. A lot of people seem to be getting their flavored matchas so maybe that's what their better for, but just as an original matcha latte, it's a hard pass. I also tried the Sesame Cloudy hojicha which comes with a biscoff biscuit. This too, didn't have a good blend of flavors. The hojicha was not very strong and the sesame flavor was only in the powder they sprinkle on top, not the actual drink. I also tried their foods, the Unagi grain bowl and Garlic chicken breast bowl. They both came with a decent amount, had some veggies and corn. Flavor itself was good, not too outstanding and the unagi had quite a few tiny bones in there. For a place that had limited seating, if you came at a busy time, you'd really have nowhere to enjoy the food. Although majority of people come just for drinks, they also sat around to drink too. Given the quality of food and drinks, the price was also on the higher side. Overall, would probably pass if you're looking for a good drink spot given other better spots in Irvine.
great coffee and tea spot! i also love that they have food options available here so it's great as a mid day pick me up or for lunch. for four drinks, we got our order within 5-10 minutes so i loved how quick the service is. the location is in the middle of a bunch of apartment complexes so super convenient for people who live nearby all the drinks were delicious. the cold brew was the perfect t taste, not too acidic. the house coffee was perfectly sweet while still being able to taste the coffee. i loved the biscoff cookie on the sesame hojicha since i dipped it in the cheese foam. the cheese foam was delicious and paired perfectly with the sesame hojicha drink. you could really taste every component of the drink. the mango matcha was also delicious with both mango and matcha flavors balancing each other perfectly. would definitely come back if i were in the area.
I've been on a blueberry matcha grind, as I still feel a plain simple matcha latte is best made at home. Mori's matcha definitely delivered on the flavor here. I noticed they prescoop their fruit puree/jam(?) in cups to store in their front display fridge. There is a kiosk to order or you can order at the front with a staff member if available. Several signs posted around the store with special flavors & an opportunity for free Assam milk tea with Yelp review. I got the blueberry matcha with 75% sweetness. I tried to sip the matcha first without mixing too much, but with 1 stir I could already taste the blueberry. A few stirs in, I was drinking a perfectly sweetened blueberry matcha, but I was concerned about the rest of the blueberry puree still at the bottom of the cup. Next time, I would further decrease the sweetness since the puree is quite sweet after mixing all the way. I needed to wait for the ice to melt a bit to balance this. Otherwise, the puree itself had bits of blueberry that I could taste, would get again!

Outside seems limited parking (they aren't too strict with the time limit i think), but there is a parking garage behind the cafe (not the ones across in the parking lot road but the opposite road from the street). Kiosk order. Pretty fast but more of a to go spot The matcha was not too sweet, got 50% and it was a bit grassy. They have lactose free whole milk and oat milk. The guava matcha is just guava jam with matcha, but balanced. They also have various rice bowls. The hojicha had a slight roast flavor and wasnt too grainy or strong in either way, the cream top is not super creamy and didnt come with too much. Overall like medium tier quality, decent portion. Come here for a casual local fix thats close by to the university

I was fairly disappointed. They emphasized on their matcha but it wasn't even ceremonial. When we asked about the grade of their matcha, they didn't seem to know... The dessert was alright. Nothing spectacular. Appeared to be ideal for students to grab food and/drink and study. read more
Funny enough, my partner and I saw a video of their matcha so we drove to try it! Their shop was very cute, tucked away by a few apartment buildings, making it a great place for an afternoon matcha. We saw a few people in there studying and some even relaxing with their pets! Their regular matcha had very good ceremonial matcha and was very high quality. I don't like my matcha too sweet and they made it exactly how I liked it. Their strawberry matcha latte was also very good! This place is more known for its food and now is leaning towards their drink menu. I happened to be in the area and wanted to give the matcha a try. They use Maru Koyamaen which is known for their high-quality matcha & lactose free milk without a charge. Already a plus in my books! The barista asked how strong I wanted my matcha and I chose "Rich" since it was the most popular. My drink had a beautiful rich green color that meets my matcha standards. I really enjoyed the banana cream hojicha. The banana flavor was not too overpowering and wasn't artificial tasting at all. My fiance got the guava matcha and he really enjoyed it. Their drinks are not super sweet. There are a bunch of signs about how their sweetener is just naturally less sweet but was kind of confusing to understand. I definitely want to return for the hojicha but also to try some of their food. read more

My friend and I stopped by to check out their matcha drinks. I ordered the pistachio matcha latte, which was creamy and lightly sweet, topped with toasted pistachios. Next time, I'd definitely ask for it a bit sweeter. Service was fast and friendly. Seating inside is limited, but there are extra tables available outside. Mori offers a very large variety of drinks and food. I usually come here for the strawberry matcha which is honestly some of the best out there. Recently I had the coconut coffee and it was really bad to be honest. It was pretty much just shots and coconut canned milk and no sweetener from the taste. I was too embarrassed to ask if i could get a remake because I don't usually dislike a drink that much. The service and pretty average and swift, I feel like everytime I come there's always someone new working. There's limited time parking infront but there is a structure on it's left for free parking. Unfortunately the interior offer very few seats and no restroom. Maybe I should just stick to the strawberry matcha because the coffee left a bad reputation for this place for me. read more

An amazing Matcha spot has taken over the location where a prominent kimbap place used to be, and to be honest, I'm really liking it! Situated in Avenue One is Mori's, a place recommended to me by a friend who is a Matcha connoisseur. In fact, when I walked in, I immediately saw the cans of matcha she prepares on the shelf! They definitely know what they are doing. A small place, there isn't much seating except for a raised bar, and a few chairs outside, but you can walk up a few feet and get to a shared patio for all the restaurants. I had the blueberry matcha, and wow. Flavor was on point. I did 100% sweetness just to gauge their levels, even though it was pointed out that 50% is normal... And 100% tastes a bit too sweet for me. I will have to try the 50% or 25% next time. There is food, but we did not order any (this was an after lunch destination!) The person who took our order was extremely sweet, and very helpful with recommendations. We'll be back. You can bet on it! read more

came here at opening for the hojicha latte. i like that they have lactose free milk options here! i got it extra creamy and at their recommended sweetness. given the color of the hojicha, i was expecting a very strong flavor but it was a little muted. i wish it had a bit more flavor but maybe it's also because i prefer a slightly sweeter hojicha. next time ill have to try it with a bit more sweetness. service was good, the girl was bombarded with a few orders at once but she was quick! inside has a couple of places to stand and wait for your drink but not really sit. read more

Mori's is the kind of coffee shop you instantly want to come back to. It's super cozy, really clean, and has the nicest staff. I tried their ceremonial matcha and loved that it's customizable. You can pick your milk and sweetness level which is perfect if you like your matcha a certain way. I also got their house coffee and it was smooth and rich with no bitterness. For food, I ordered the egg sandwich and the chicken caesar salad and both were delicious. The egg sandwich was fluffy and flavorful and the salad was super fresh with the perfect amount of dressing. It's such a relaxing spot to study, meet a friend, or just sit with a good drink. Definitely one of my new favorite finds near campus. read more

I was blown away! It was so simple but still hit all the right notes. I really enjoyed this place. It's more of a grab and go drink and food stop. I wouldn't recommend working or studying here as there were only 2 small tables. They had a large selection of drinks and I would love to try their food or health drinks next time. We ordered the double matcha and strawberry matcha. They were both creamy and I liked that the strawberry flavor wasn't too overpowering. You can adjust sweetness too which is nice. read more

Love the matcha here!! They use marukyu koyamaen matcha and you can really taste the quality of the matcha powder they use. The workers here are super sweet and helpful and our drinks came out so fast. It's a pretty small shop but there are a few seats to sit and work. One downside is that there is no bathroom in the shop tho. read more

Location: Weird spot! Tucked away on a strip of stores inside of an apartment complex? I don't know how to explain it but had to walk a bit from parking. I believe they have rear parking but we didn't check it out. Food: Got the double matcha and uji matcha latte! They use lactose free milk in their drinks which is mad considerate for the sensitive tummy girlies. However, if you like a creamier matcha, you may not find it here because of that. You can choose richness for the uji matcha, and all matcha drinks lean towards unsweetened. I got 75% sweet and rich but if you like a a sweeter, more robust flavor I'd go more rich and 100%. Very smooth with nary an earthy grass flavor, which was a surprise with how deep the color was. Will be back to try food because it was presented so nice! Authentic and strong matcha! They advertise that they use high quality matcha from Japan, and I can tell the difference. I love strong matcha so I tried the uji matcha latte and paid extra for the extra rich version. After adding oat milk, my drink was almost $9, but it definitely was one of the strongest matchas I've had! I would recommend getting 75% sweetness, or 50% if you don't like things too sweet. They also sell food, and I definitely want to try their dishes next time! Just discovered this incredible matcha spot near UCI and I had to share because WOW! Came in and tried their Uji Rich Matcha Latte, Crème Brûlée Matcha Swirl, and Cloudy Matcha - you can immediately taste that they're using ceremonial grade matcha sourced directly from Uji, Japan. The quality difference is so noticeable compared to other places! But what absolutely blew my mind was their HANDCRAFT TARO situation. They literally steam and crush real taro and ube by hand in-house, then mix it with milk. You can actually taste the tiny taro bites in every single sip! It's completely different from those places that just use artificial taro powder - this is the real deal and you can tell they put so much care into making it fresh. Also got their Honey & Spicy Chicken Thigh which was the perfect savory complement to balance out all that matcha sweetness. Really hit the spot! What I loved most about this place: * Their house-made organic cane sugar syrup isn't overly sweet by default, but you can customize it up to 75% or 100% if you want * Everything is made with lactose-free milk which is amazing * Super convenient location for UCI students and locals * They have these energy grain bowls that look perfect for a working lunch The attention to detail here is incredible. It must be dangerous to live so close to Mori's. Mori's is one of several businesses attached to an Irvine apartment. This spot had been on my radar for a while, but I never visited because I feared a complicated parking situation. At 2pm on a Wednesday, a 30-minute parking spot was very easy to snag. There's about 15 spots available for guests, but I could imagine they fills up fast in peak meal periods. While this place serves up a variety of caffeinated beverages, their speciality is definitely matcha. They serve iced matcha lattes in ways that I've never experienced before - I have to return to try the taroberry matcha! I ordered the double matcha at regular sweetness. This was a classic matcha with matcha cold foam on top. Superb. What really shocked me was their food. I don't typically go to a coffee shop expecting a meal, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try their Garlic Chicken bowl. This included grain rice, broccolini, bean sprouts, celery, and carrot salad. Topped off with thick slices of chicken breast and sesame aioli. If I could get the recipe for the sesame aioli, I'd be forever thankful. I'd love to see this concept branch into additional locations in Orange County! They're definitely going places. read more

I only got drinks this time--went with the double matcha and the strawberry matcha. The double matcha was honestly really solid, definitely a 9/10 for me. It had that bold, earthy flavor that hits just right without being too bitter. You could tell they didn't skimp on the matcha, which I appreciate. But the strawberry matcha? That one completely blew me away. 10/10 without question. It was super refreshing and had the perfect balance of sweet and grassy. I'm pretty sure they used freeze-dried strawberries in it, and once it dissolved and blended with the matcha, it created this smooth, creamy texture with bursts of strawberry flavor. It didn't taste artificial at all--it actually felt super fresh and thoughtfully made. The ambiance of the place was really pretty--soft lighting, cute decor, and a calm vibe that makes you want to stay for a bit. It felt cozy but still modern. The service was great too. I wasn't sure what to get at first, but the barista was really friendly and helpful. They actually recommended both drinks, and I'm glad I took their advice because they were spot on.
