I came into Dizzy Bird at the Irvine Spectrum and absolutely loved it! The menu is healthy, balanced, and delicious. The chicken is very tender and juicy with the best spice. My fiancé ordered the Hot Bird and I got the 1/4 chicken plate with the lemon garlic potatoes and pesto pasta salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. We both really enjoyed the meals we ate and can't wait to come back! The prices are also very reasonable, especially given the portion sizes. My only complaint might the seating which can feel a bit cramped when busy but it's definitely worth the visit for the food! Highly recommend. read more

I have seen such great reviews and talk about Dizzy Bird and I visit the Spectrum quite a bit so I was set to go visit and see what the buzz was all about. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon it was pretty busy, only a few seats were avail in the shade outside and it was full inside. People eat pretty quick though and I noticed after waiting a few minutes, people were able to find seats. We wanted to try a couple of different items so we go a bowl and we got a wrap. The food was ready in about 10 minutes or so, not too long of a wait. Maybe i'm in the minority but I didn't think it was that great to where I would want to go back again. The bowl had standard things that I didn't think were all that great like the cherry tomatoes, pita chips, lettuce. The chicken was moist and tender, I did like that and the wrap had a delish sauce I think its their dizzy sauce. But nothing really stood out to me. Was at the Irvine Spectrum and saw a line out the door for this place- I love Mediterranean food and I was excited to give it a try regardless of the wait, it took about 30 minutes for the food to come out on a busy day, a little hard to find seating because the store itself is pretty small, but there is plenty of seating outside of the store at the Spectrum. You can see the kitchen preparing the food from the register as well! We ordered the whole chicken which came with two sides and I think this one was my favorite because of how juicy the chicken was when I tore it open. Both the hubs & I ordered a two-thigh plate ~ which comes w/ 2 sides ($19.99/each). We opt'd for just the classic/original, no fancy smansy sauce it up..so we can truly taste the quality. I chose the pesto pasta salad & roasted lemon garlic potatoes for my sides & the hubs got the side salad & baked sweet potato. It was alot of food, for the price point..so it's fair (factoring in, we are dining at the Spectrum too). The food was fresh, chicken was moist & flavorful, and everything was cooked perfectly. The chicken was really juicy w/ a crispy exterior, and the sides complemented the meal well. I loved my pesto pasta salad. It reminded me of a mac salad (which I always get if given the chance), but w/ a pesto taste mixed in. Filling & refreshing. The potatoes were seasoned & grilled well. It had loads of flavor. I really liked my hub's baked sweet potato too. We halfsies the sides, so that we each could try everything. OMG..do yourself a favor and order extra TOUM (it's only like 0.75 cents extra)!!! That Lebanese garlic sauce is BOMB! I dipped it w/ literally EVERYTHING ~ from my pita bread to my chicken, and even my potatoes. YUMSSS.. My wife and I eat here maybe 2 to 3 times a week and unfortunately, I'm going to update my review downward to 2 stars. We have been getting the Mediterranean salad probably had this meal about 100+ times. We order it with 7 ounces of white meat since we want to get our protein in and we keep track of our protein intake throughout the day. Unfortunately, even though we pay the price for the 7 ounces we typically get only 4 ounces. 3 ounces of chicken makes a big difference in the protein intake and regardless, if you advertise 7 oz, you should give it every time. I called once and spoke with the manager, who was very nice and said that he would talk with the staff, but this issue has not been fixed. They mentioned that their portions are weighted out already, but that is clearly nowhere near true. Just received the Uber order and it's about 3.5 ounces this time. (see photo) Lastly, the Mediterranean salad states that it's supposed to come with pickled onions and pickled jalapeños and pita chips. Out of that hundred times we've had the salad, maybe 90 times they forgot to put the pickled stuff and didn't even put the pita chips in there. Extremely frustrating. If you ask them for pita chips (which you shouldn't have to) they want to charge you extra. Luckily on my to go order I assumed we wouldn't have them so I paid for extra pita chips and (ordered extra pickled onions and jalapenos) glad I did since pita chips weren't in the salad again. Seems like the kitchen chefs know that I called it out and give me a stanky face when I walk in most of the time. I love the food you guys serve, and majority that work there are very kind, but you really need to get it together in the kitchen, so I don't have to double check and be present every time. This is my second time coming to dizzy bird at the spectrum. Both times I got the hot bird wrap. This time we placed our order online to avoid some possible wait time. Both times I've been to the store, the layout and size make it so that it ends up quite cramped and difficult to navigate, and there's no good place to wait to receive your food. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and are generous with sauce or whatever you need. The food seems to be consistently very fresh, and their flavors are strong and on point. Horrible experience. The Dizzy Bowl had bone-dry chicken and rice that tasted like a wet, lemony, mildewed towel. The chicken plate was heavily over-salted, while the sweet potato and corn sides were completely watery and tasteless. It is a very small place, with a few tables in front, some outside, and a few in the back. If I use words like "crowded, confusing, chaos," you can picture the scene in your mind. There was trash on the floor, dirty trays, people standing wall to wall. We pushed our way to the front and ordered on a computer set on a dirty table. I asked the young lady, who was taking orders, to stop what she was doing to clean up the counter, so we could sit down, with only one chair, and eat. I guess I could eat standing up? Literally, there were six workers in the kitchen, two workers handing out food, and one young lady taking orders. None of them worked on the floor cleaning up, emptying trash, helping patrons, refilling supplies or anyway helping customers. I felt dizzy with all the confusion ordering our food and finding a place to sit down and eat. I also felt dizzy trying to find a trash can!! No wonder, this place is such a mess. Their only trash can for hundreds of people in in the back next to the bathroom. I felt dizzy. There are not trash cans in the front, or outside on the patio. There is no way to clean up. I felt dizzy again. And finally, the food came. It was five stars excellent, however, the portions were too small for the price. A whole chicken with two sides is $40.00 Two thighs cost you $23.00 The chicken was excellent. Five stars. The food is delicious, but the experience is not. Dizzy Bird earns three stars. read more

It was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and tender. I've always considered Zankou to be the best rotisserie chicken around, but I have to say.... I think Dizzy Bird takes that crown now. The sides were surprisingly good too, definitely not an afterthought. Me and my husband loved the roasted potatoes and corn. Both were packed with flavor. As for the wraps, they were decent, but I personally don't plile the thicker crunch-wrap style bread they use. It felt a little dry because of the bread to filling ratio. Between the two, I thought the Classic Bird was better than the Hot Bird, though neither stood out as much as the rotisserie chicken. I'll definitely be back for the rotisserie chicken and sides, but will probably skip out on the wraps. The entire menu is halal.
