Finally gave Georgia's a try! We've always passed by the restaurant going to Spectrum and we decided to go for it. We got the gumbo, shrimp + grits, and the shrimp + fries. The gumbo was the best out of the 3. It was flavorful and after I finished, I wanted to dip the fries in there. The cup is a bit smaller than I thought. The shrimp + grits was good, but it wasn't as flavorful as the gumbo. The fries were standard fries, but it was goood along with their ranch. Service is a little slow with bringing food out, but someone did check up on us once. I did have to ask for water though! I will def return for the gumbo!

Unfortunately everything had a lack of seasoning. The coating on the chicken looked great but had no flavor. The smothered pork chops had a gravy that was very watery and flavorless. The chef needs to embrace salt.

Had the lemon seabass and the sauce was incredibly flavorful and fish was juicy and not dry. Very surprised and a great deal at $25. Also tried the pork chops and they were also very juicy and flavorful.

A great place for soul food located in the center of Irvine Spectrum. The closest parking to this location is either in the south side of the structure that is closest to the movie theater or the parking lot directly outside of the restaurants. Both require a brief walk to the restaurant. The parking can be very crowded at times and there are alternative parking lots and structures that are a little farther away. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available at this location. You order your food at the register and are given a number to bring to your table. They have a pretty large variety of dishes on their menu. The staff were very friendly and the service overall was excellent. The meal came with complimentary cornbread and honey butter. The cornbread was warm with a slight crisp on the outside but was soft in the middle. We were sharing a blackened chicken pasta and the restaurant offered to split the dish for us for free. The pasta was cooked al dente and had a delicious savory and creamy sauce. The chicken was tender and had good flavor as well. The beignets were very crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside and the chocolate sauce that it came with was a great addition. There are so many great options on the menu and I can't wait to go back and try more of them.

I first tried Georgia's Restaurant during a Yelp Elite event and was excited to come back and try the blackened chicken pasta. We also ran it back on the cornbread which is complimentary if you dine in and the beignets. The chicken and pasta were cooked to perfection. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy, and the pasta had a nice al dente bite to it. The cornbread was warm and soft with great flavor. The beignets were fried with a crisp exterior and a soft, chewy inside which made them a great way to end the meal. The inside is vibrant and spacious with plenty of room to sit comfortably. They have amazing customer service. The person who took our order was friendly and helpful, and the staff continued to check on us throughout the meal even though you pay before sitting which is something I really appreciated.

This was my second time at Georgia's and my goodness, the above and beyond top-notch service I received from Quantez was amazing and a blessing!! From the moment I came in until I left, he made my visit a memorable and pleasant experience. It wasn't very busy during this time which was perfect for me. The inside was clean, well put together and there's even outdoor seating to enjoy! I came in to order a small bowl of Jambalaya with two individual orders of original cornbread pieces (2 pieces of bread). I walked out with two Jambalaya bowls instead of one and two complimentary orders of cornbread (4 pieces of bread). I truly thank Quantez for being such a kind light during my visit! Between this top notch, kind, and upbeat service I received from both Michael and Quantez during my two visits, id say I may have discovered my NEW Favorite Soul-Delicious restaurant here in OC!! And don't get me started on that Jambalaya and cornbread! The seasons, flavors, taste just brings me back to my roots every time. Soul food that's truly good for the soul, and the customer service that's truly good for the heart!! Thanks Georgia's and Quantez! I hope to see you again soon!! Definitely 10/5 stars!

Georgia's Restaurant was a spontaneous selection from all the other restaurants at the packing district but southern food was calling my group's name so we were excited to try it. There were lots of entrees that sounded delicious but we figured if it was good we would come back and try what we had not that day. There was seating available there inside and outside, we chose to sit inside and we brought fresh warm cornbread with butter. The servers were so kind and worked as a team to take care of us. We ordered Gumbo, Shrimp & Grits, and Red Beans & Rice. I tried some of the gumbo. It just needed a touch of flavor. I would give it a 5 out of 10. The Shrimp & Grits was my mine order and it was very good (7/10) and I also order a side of red beans and rice which needed a little extra seasoning to me and to the other person I was with that order a bowl of it; I would give it a 6 out of 10. Overall I had a good experience and I would go back and order the shrimp & grits again.

We keep coming back because the hospitality is truly unmatched. Georgia's is by far in my opinion the best tasty southern food in the west! The staff is so patient as we order, and the atmosphere feels welcoming from start to finish. Quantez and Richard are absolute pros who make sure you're well taken care of. Plus, those unlimited cornbread baskets and the variety of lemonade flavors make the meal even better. Must try the Lemon Seabass...is my favorite go to for healthy and light meal. 10/10 every time!

My 400th Yelp review was saved specifically for Georgia's Restaurant nestled in Irvine Spectrum. You don't typically find southern food in California and if you do you've probably heard of Lousiana Charlies' and the like in Long Beach. I honestly love jambalaya and gumbo, along with any fish/seafood baskets. When I ordered at the front with the cashier, my table opted for the gumbo cup, chili mac, cajun fries, and peach cobbler. My gumbo had some spice to it, but for those who love spicy you'll probably need a bigger kick. The cup was honestly the perfect size for one person. Chili mac was delicious and is very filling, so I would definitely order this entree to share. I would like to come back and try their shrimp baskets and catfish meals, but I will take into consideration that some of these entrees are definitely big enought to share "family style" for a max of 3 people. Peach cobbler was honestly the best dessert on the menu, but they also have beignets that you don't need to drive all the way to disneyland for. I will be coming back to try the rest at some point!

I have been waiting for what seems like forever for this place to open. I don't really visit Irvine Spectrum often, but always look for it to see if it is open. I don't remember how I noticed it was open over the weekend but I immediately made time to drive up to check it out. The first scary thing was that Irvine Spectrum was absolutely PACKED on Saturday night. Little to no parking, people everywhere, and it was a really energetic atmosphere. Walking into Georgias, there was no line and only a couple of tables occupied. Its clean inside but not really what I expected the restaurant to be. I thought it would be more sit down service with a waiter... You order and pay for your food at the counter and they bring it to you. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I ordered many items from the menu to sample the variety. The first item to arrive was complementary cornbread. Sweet and flavorful, not dry or grainy. Very good. Next came the Fried Green Tomatos. While tasty, the breading was far too thick. I would have this as a kid, the breading is supposed to be just to cover not encase. After that a small jambalaya arrived. That was very good, slightly spicy. I also get Lemon Pepper wings which were very flavorful, not too salty, but had a nice tang to them and were not dry or overcooked. Finally for my main, I got the fried chicken, with fries and Mac. I will start with the sides. The fries were shoestring style, not too salty or bland. They were not super crispy but also not old or soggy. They were okay. The Macaroni and Cheese was really good, very flavorful, cheesy, and hot. Mac is one of those subjective things so I can't speak for everyone but to me, they were pretty good. Now on to the Chicken. The flavor was not exactly me cup of tea and not what I expected. Not bad by any means but just not something I would come back for. Just like with the tomatos, the breading was too thick. They season their flower which is a plus and the meat inside the thick crust was tender and juicy. Overall it was a good experience and I would like to try other things on a future visit. Everyone has bad days and perhaps with some minor adjustments to breading and seasoning, eveything can be a winner. I recommend this place for anyone looking for some southern nostalgia without going all the way to LA county. Its not the best, but its worth another visit for sure.

When you find something good, praise it. This place is off the charts good. The staff is extremely friendly. They will do anything to make sure you are happy. The menu is simple and has all your favorites from the South. The only thing missing is: humidity and "Hi, ya all!" Oh, and a few flies in the air. Our jambalaya was fantastic. They split it in two since we were sharing our meal. I could taste the spicy sausage, shrimp, and veggies in the dish. We also ordered fried green tomatoes, corn bread, and a spicy chicken pasta. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. Next time there are so many other dishes to try. Five stars all the way. This place in on my list of places to eat at the Spectrum.

Georgia's Restaurant is a soul food restaurant with multiple locations in the Southern California area. This location is in Irvine at the Irvine Spectrum Mall. You order at the counter and grab a number. Then they'll bring your food over to you. PIGGY CHEESE FRIES ($10.95) - there were good portions of pulled pork. The BBQ sauce on top made the dish sweet which was surprising to me. I am used to loaded fries that are savory so I wasn't used to a sweet kind. Also, the fries were pretty oily from the pulled pork. 3/5 FRIED CHICKEN ($17.95) - the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. I liked that the pieces of chicken were all dark meat. For our two sides we got mac and cheese (good) and the red beans and rice (okay). 4/5 GRETCHEN'S JAMBALAYA ($21.95) - there was a decent hint of spice in the flavorful gravy with good portions of sausage, chicken, and shrimp. The bread was also soft, sweet, and soaked up the sauce well. This was definitely our favorite dish. 4.5/5 BEIGNETS ($3.75) - this came in an order of two. They were on the tinier side and were decent. 3/5 For drinks we got their peach sangria special ($5) and hurricane ($10) which were both decent. The service was quick and friendly and there was plenty of seating both inside and outside.

The food was good. I enjoyed my side dishes better than the main course. The fried chicken was just ok. Needed more flavor and fried harder than I prefer. The baked beans and yams needed nothing extra. Loved them! The staff was really great. The music being played was the best! 70s and 80s R&B! There is seating both inside and outside. You have to sit inside to enjoy the good music though. Not a bad experience for a soul food place located in an outside shopping center. I'd go back to the seabass!

All the tables were full and there was one party of 11 just ahead of us. Our wait for a table was like 30 minutes or so. Once we were up we were guided to a table towards the back for five. Our server asked if we been here before and if we wanted anything else besides water to drink. My brother and his fiance split a full order of the beef ribs and side order of sauteed garlic green beans. My mom and step dad split a full order of beef ribs while I ordered a full rack of baby back ribs which came with two side orders. I picked coleslaw and onion rings which I shared with the family. The food came out promptly. Everyone enjoyed their food. The baby back ribs were moist with flavor, smoked and went well with their bbq sauce. The rest of the family really like their beef ribs. And they even commented that it was better than the other bbq places we been to. Definitely will return and highly recommend.

*** SCAM ALERT *** I…read moredon't use the word "SCAM" lightly, but that's what this was. My adult son called in a $281.62 order off the menu for Mother's Day. They would not accept the order or payment over the phone because the order was "too big." They asked that someone go there and pay up front for the entire order. Since it was the evening before Mother's Day, I drove to them and paid for the order. Yes, I was also presented with a minumum 20% TIP screen, which I declined. When I got there at pickup time (4:00pm) on Mother's Day, the price changed to $325.51. I was told that, for some reason, they had cut about 50% larger portions than the menu specified (see the line items, which should have been 1 lb. each), so they charged me for the difference ($325.51 - $281.62) which was $43.89 (about 50% more for the 2 items they cut heavier). No, there was no mention when I placed the order that the total cost might change due to extra meat. Neither is it shown on their web site or printed menus. When I protested, there was no option. If I don't pay the $43.89 difference, I don't get the Mother's Day food. After about 20 minutes of bickering at the counter with two different clerks (note the time stamp differences on the credit card slips), I was given my original order, with a net price reduction of ($281.62 - $254.93) $26.69. My persistence had paid off. On a positive note, the cook did, twice, walk up to me and quietly apologize for what was going on. I know many folks would have folded in this situation, but that's not my nature. I don't stand for dishonesty. Yes, it was embarrassing, other clients in line were not happy (I let them skip ahead of me so as not to inconvenience them). None of them had price increases. I don't know if the clerks wanted a tip because the management doesn't pay them much, or it this goes deeper and is standard operating procedure that assumes most clients will simply approve of the overage and pay up. In any case, from this client's point of view, this is a SCAM! When it was all over, I took my 11 and 12 year old grandsons (who had been sitting patiently waiting for grandpa to pay) and my food package to the car, drove home and proudly presented the meat to my family. After all, I am a hunter-gatherer; and the food was great!

That finally changed last night when my sister and I spontaneously decided to try it. From the outside it always looked so cozy, so we finally decided it was time to give it a try. When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised by the warm and charming interior. It honestly feels like such a cute date night spot. We were greeted by Ada, who ended up being one of the best servers we have ever had in Chino Hills. Since it was close to closing and not very busy, she asked if we wanted to sit near the boiler counter where the action happens or at a table for a little more privacy. We chose a table so we could take in the whole restaurant. Ada walked us through the menu, explained their spice level system from 0 to 10, and pointed out some of their most popular dishes. She was incredibly patient, answered all of our questions, and made us feel really taken care of. As someone who used to work as a server myself, I know how rare it is to see someone so genuinely invested in making sure guests have a great experience. We decided to share their most popular dish, the House Pan Roast at spice level 5. Ada mentioned that the dinner portion is pretty large and great for sharing, which was absolutely true. We added an extra side of rice and it ended up being the perfect amount. They started us off with complimentary bread and butter, which was pillowy soft and delicious. Our pan roast came out quickly and it was amazing. My sister and I both agreed that the base tasted like the perfect mix between a creamy tomato bisque and the Kickin' sauce from Kickin' Crab. It was rich, savory, and packed with flavor. There was a generous amount of scallops and shrimp, and the shrimp were especially sweet and fresh. If you like creamy seafood soups, you will probably love this. It is the kind of hearty Saturday night meal that feels satisfying without being overly heavy. Ada checked on us several times to make sure everything tasted good and even asked if we wanted any spice adjustments. Overall, the House Pan Roast was a total 10 out of 10 flavor bomb. We finished the meal with the yuzu sherbet, which was sweet, citrusy, and super refreshing. This ended up being one of the best dining experiences we have had in Chino Hills. It reminded me why coming back to our hometown can feel so special.

One of the nice things about this place is it definitely has a hometown vibe to it. Like seriously, you feel like you are in someone's home rather than a restaurant. The food came to the table very quickly, and it was very delicious! My friend had the tuna melt and a side salad, it looked huge! You definitely get your bang for the buck here! I opted for something slightly lighter, so I ordered the half Caesar salad with chicken. Chicken. Let me tell you something, I'm glad I ordered the small cuz I can't imagine how huge this salad would be as a large! The chicken breast on top nearly covered the entire bowl of salad! And it was absolutely delicious. The service was top notch, the ambiance was great, and the food was outstanding! They even had some party going on in the back, with just added to the excitement of the place. And on the way out, I noticed they had a thrifty ice cream shop right in the restaurant! So you could grab yourself a single double or triple scoop cone! Bottom line? You cannot go wrong with this place. If you've never been and you're a local, what the heck? You are definitely missing out. If you are in the Huntington Beach area, you definitely have to go to Mama's on 39.
