Service was friendly and attentive. The clam chowder bread bowl was delicious. The sourdough bread is a clear winner here. Probably one of the best that i tried in oc. The chowder was good but they are inconsistent with the soup temperature. Mine was a bit warm and i would have preferred it to be hotter. This place gets busy during the weekdays lunch time due to all the office buildings nearby. Parking could be difficult. I will be back when im craving a bread bowl.

Super fast service! I'd come back just for the bread! Sourdough was delicious. It was very stuffed, solid sandwich. Nothing to rave about other than the bread

13$ for mini and chips, not worth it unfortunately

Beware of a lunch rush, I went the other day w coworkers and my sandwich was very poor. Not worth the 13$ for a mini and chips.

When it comes to bread, sourdough is king. Don't Rye about it. This you knead to know. Located in a small complex is a new sandwhich spot that is my new favorite. This place can get busy due to its proximity to a plethora of offices, and the grind with all hands on deck was ok n. This was on a Monday around 1pm. First of, the star, that bread. I got a pastrami sandwich but TBH the toasted bread won me over. Crunchy. Fresh. I loved it. I also had to get a bread bowl with clam chowder, and THAT bread stole the show. Fluffy. Crisp. Perfection. The clam chowder itself was also tasty, I wonder who makes it for them? Soda options are a let down with Pepsi products, however the strawberry watermelon was amazing. The Mango lemonade was a little strong, add some water or extra ice to melt to bring it back to drinkable. I added starry to make it less sugary. My only complaint was no butter? I always have leftover bread with an bread bowl, and sourdough just pairs so well with butter. They should also find a way to do a half sandwhich and soup deal for lunch... though Im not aware of their logistics if that's plausible. Shout out to everyone working there, rapport was great with many customers. Not me, but many others.

Saw the positive reviews for West Coast Sourdough and thought I'd give them a try. Ordered online for pick up and arrived early. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Sandwiches come in three sizes - 4 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch. Pricing starts at $9.99 for the 4-inch, $12.49, $14.49. My 6-inch sandwich wasn't that big, which did make it easier to eat. It looked kind of basic, but the garlic pesto sauce was super tasty and the fresh sourdough bread was good. Overall, way better than Subway!

Chicken pesto, seemingly without the pesto

Great bread and delicious lemon white chocolate cookie, but they really need to iron out the issues. Came in at 6pm on a Saturday, and long story short, my girlfriend and I waited 45 minutes for our sandwiches. Put a bit of a damper on our sunset picnic plans. When we did finally open the sandwiches, we realized they only had meat and cheese. Learning experience for us, but it would have been nice for the worker to educate us a bit on the ordering process. They gave zero indication that we'd only be receiving meat and cheese, and didn't ask us if we wanted any additional toppings. That being said, we liked what we tasted, and they gave us 2 free sandwich coupons since we waited, so we decided to give them another try. Fast forward 3 days later when we went in to use the coupons, and my girlfriend's chicken pesto sandwich definitely just seems to be chicken salad. Zero presence of pesto. My french dip has a heaping dose of their sauce which I did not ask for, and which wasn't on my French dip that I had 3 days previous. Really would have preferred that it wasn't added, and had it know it would be on there, I would have asked for it to be made without it. All in all, we could see ourselves really enjoying their sandwiches, but at the moment, we just have no idea what we're going to end up with once we get home. Hope they manage to work the kinks out, but we probably won't roll the dice on another order for quite awhile.

Went here for the first time today while in Irvine and short on time. Friendly greeting and service, the owner needed to help the young lands taking orders and he and my husband chatted a bit. We tried the pastrami, I got the veggie with pepper jack and my daughter had the garlic pest veggie. Too hungry and in a hurry to take pictures. Very fresh ingredients, good add ins and a nice variety on the menu. Food prepared quickly and the prices seem reasonable for today economy. Being a sourdough themed place, I was excited to try the bread and it was amazing. Fresh and with a good chew. I'm going to be in the area for the week d and will come back and try it again.

Chicken pesto sandwich. Extremely wet and soggy

I was disappointed with my recent order, as the quality did not match the high price point or strong reviews. The bread was completely soaked through because the vegetable toppings (tomatoes, pickles, cucumbers, and pepperoncinis) were not drained before assembly. The sandwiches were dripping all over. I ordered the "grilled" chicken thinking it would be a healthier option, but it was just microwaved pieces of meat. I also got another sandwich with cold roast beef and they even microwaved there roast beef... not sure why? The sandwiches also tasted quite bland. Nothing special or standout about them. I hope management at least addresses their food prep standards to provide a decent sandwich.

Definitely try the BBQ brisket

Stopped by West Coast Sourdough for lunch and we were SO impressed! You will be greeted with a warm welcome from Carson and his team. They are all so friendly and hospitable. The sourdough is baked fresh daily, and you can definitely tell. It has the perfect crispy crust while still being soft on the inside. We tried the Turkey Pesto, French Dip, and BBQ Brisket, and all three were really good. The sandwiches were generously filled with fresh ingredients, so every bite had a good balance of meat, veggies, and flavor. The French Dip was especially satisfying with the au jus. Our favorite was the BBQ Brisket. The salads were huge and loaded with toppings instead of just being a bowl of lettuce. They also have soup bread bowls and flatbreads, so there's plenty to choose from if you're not in the mood for a sandwich. Overall, it's a great spot for a quick lunch with fresh ingredients and generous portions. They also do catering so definitely recommend looking into that. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

BLT add house sauce, jalapeños, onions, oil and vinegar, and avocado

The bread is FANTASTIC absolutely the shining star of the show. The hospitality is out of this world, everyone is so kind and helpful (Daniel, Laila and Carson I met in person and were extremely sweet!) They do a great job of keeping everything very tidy and clean. I've tried multiple sandwiches (my personal favourite is either the Reuben (adding pickles and jalapeños) or the BLT (pictured w addons). So happy to have found this place and you definitely have to try their bread bowls, I ate it too fast to picture lol

First time here! The turkey sandwiches and harvest cheddar SunChips were very fresh, savory, crispy, crunchy, flavorful, and delicious. The bread was crunchy and chewy, just like it should be. Also, the Sprite, was super tasty, sweet, and refreshing, good service, nice atmosphere with upbeat music, and I had an excellent experience today.

Tried this new sandwich shop nearby Irvine Spectrum and it did not disappoint. Their clam chowder bread bowl and southwest chicken salad were so good! Service is awesome too! Ambience is bright and cheerful Thanks to Carson and Erica for the hospitality!

It's a simple, easy seat-yourself spot where you grab your own utensils and condiments. The food came out really fast--I even had time to use the restroom while we waited. My fiancé ordered the soufflé pancakes with fresh strawberries and their strawberry cream. They were jiggly and soft, and not too sweet. It was like biting into a cloud. I got the country fried steak, egg, and cheddar sandwich on a brioche bun with their home-fried potatoes. I was expecting a bit more, but the gravy really saved it. Pro tip: ask for extra gravy. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd love to try more of their menu. I'd recommend this place to anyone willing to give it a try.

Decent brunch if you're into soufflé pancakes…read more Randomly picked this brunch spot when visiting Irvine and the breakfast quesadillas caught my eye. We parked in the plaza with plenty of parking spots available on a Saturday morning. There was a line out the door the entire time. Ordering is placed before we're seated. Seating is limited inside. Plenty of tables available in the shared patio area. There were a few active birds picking at the food from unattended tables. Ordering took about 10-15 minutes. The food came out pretty fast. Despite dining at the restaurant, they didn't have reusable tableware. I'd assume because customers might accidentally throw them away. The soufflé pancakes didn't surprise me. I think I've had better, or due to the extreme heat, the berry sauce was slightly warm and melting. If you're a fan of breakfast burritos, the breakfast quesadilla is basically the same thing in a different shape. The standout was the avocado aioli dipping sauce. It's just as good as my favorite breakfast burrito place - Wake and Late. The potatoes were nicely seasoned with a variety of spices and crispy. I'm a fan. I'd recommend the breakfast quesadilla, but wouldn't drive out of my way to come here.

What else to say about Chaupain, except it's always exceptional?…read more I'm biased - but their pastries have got to be the best in OC. This is the 3rd Chaupain location I've been to, I happened to be in the area. It's smaller than the one on La Paz in LN to be sure, but ample size enough to provide anyone with full tastes of their amazing goods. I like everything - I've tried nearly all of their pastries and cakes, this time I tried the cinnamon roll- which was insanely good, soft, and tasted of such quality. Actually - never tried their quiche, which is certainly on a bucket list for next time. I highly recommend everything they have - but just to name a new, the guava cream cheese, cinnamon cream cheese, mixed berry bateau, opera cake, vanilla scone, any of their croissants, lemon tiramisu, and the jamon sandwich is incredible - I love that the bread had a chewy texture, which is perfect for this sandwich. Adding any of the American condiments would almost be a sacrilege, but a bit of dijon is good, which they have there in packets- the flavours work so well together. I really struggle to restrain myself when coming here, which necessary for your wallet and your waistline - but whatever you decided it's all good here. The customer service was also stellar - very friendly, helpful, and personable. Thank you !
