    A1. Soondae Soup ($19.99). 12/7/2025

Anytime when it's cold or raining, Moobongri comes to mind. We love coming here for their variety of hot soups! Our favorites to order are Soondae Guk and Samgyetang. They have so much more to offer on their menu besides hot soups and they are all winners! I love the kimchi banchan here - it tastes so good! Service is attentive, friendly, and quick! They do get busy so I always try to come before the lunch/dinner rush to get seated right away.

I am still on a hunt for an authentic and tasty Korean place in Irvine and sadly I don't think I've found it yet. As a Korean, and as I really wanted Moobongri to because the people are so nice but I knocked two stars because of taste. Again, the service is really nice and attentive AND they are fluent in both Korean and English. I went to Moobongri and ordered their soondae, pork kimchi stew and spicy beef rib stew. The side dishes were okay - the kimchi was sweet which is a huge miss for me. The soondae was mostly just clear noodles, not much flavor but I did like the salt that came with it. I usually opt for the salted shrimp dipping sauce but it didn't taste good because it had an interesting gamey taste. The kimchi pork stew was sweet as well. I guess an overarching theme for this place is that most of their dishes are just too sweet.

It was nice and quaint when I visited. I shared the Bossam and Cheese Pork Katsu; these two dishes were good to share between two people! The Bossam had a clean taste and the veggies/sides was portioned perfectly for the size. It was fun pairing a bunch of random stuff together with the steamed pork. My favorite combination would probably be cabbage, radish, garlic, and a slice of meat. The Cheese Pork Katsu was good and had a nice crispy texture. Most of the cheese for our dish was melted to the bottom of the plate.

Great Korean comfort food! This restaurant offers a wide variety of Korean food and always seems to be packed. Their most popular dish is definitely their soondae soup which can be had regular or spicy. Side dishes are included as well as a good selection of toppings to choose from. We got the soondae soup and seafood pancake. The soondae soup was very comforting. I could see this being good for hangovers, when sick, or even when you're just in the mood for some hearty food! The seafood pancake was definitely plentiful and filling. It was crispy on the outside and packed with seafood and veggies on the inside. Definitely recommend both of these dishes! This place definitely gives off a family vibe, yet good for a casual dinner with friends too. Highly recommend to those in the area looking for great Korean comfort food!

Soup that warms up the soul! Moobongri's food tastes like it came straight out of a grandmother's kitchen. Super fresh, high quality ingredients in every dish. I definitely recommend getting any of their spicy soups. I went with with the spicy beef soup and it was definitely on the hotter side! The flavors definitely packed a punch; bold and deeply savory taste. The steamed mandu were also a hit! Don't miss out on their banchan either. Their radish kimchi is top tier!

Really great Korean restaurant!! We got the regular soondae soup which was phenomenal and definitely the favorite of the table! It made us want to get a plate of soondae next time we go! There's a lot of add-ons that can be added to the soup as well! We also got the Oyster Hot Pot which had a lot of oysters in it! Highly recommend! And can't wait to go again!

Always come here for their Galbitang and their banchan. The service is great, they are always happy to refill your banchan and love the flavor and depth of their galbitang. This place is 5 min drive from me so it's my go to for this particular soup!

Delicious lunch ! Local favorite! Short wait outside, don't open the door to go in, sign the waitlist that is a sheet of paper right outside the door, they are using every bit of space to enjoy delicious food! Great variety! Ben loved the short ribs, yummy broth and rice and I loved the dumplings. Friendly service. Banchan perfect

Absolutely loved this place. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out hot with great presentation. Every dish tasted authentic and made with care. The meats were tender, the banchan had amazing variety, and everything was seasoned perfectly. Service was just as impressive--friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and checked in often without being intrusive. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere for both family dinners or a casual night out. You can tell they take pride in quality and customer experience. Definitely one of the best Korean spots in the area. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Delicious food, huge selection. Staff treats you like family here. I would definitrly come back and try other things as portions are fair and generous.

Moobongri is the real deal for traditional Korean comfort food. I came specifically for their soondae specialties. We ordered both the spicy and non-spicy soondae-guk, and both were flavorful. The soondae platter itself was generous. Everything arrived piping hot in traditional stone bowls that kept our soups bubbling throughout the meal. The banchan selection was solid, and service was quick and attentive. If you're adventurous with Korean cuisine or already love soondae, check this place out.

Called ahead, wasn't too busy. They prepared a table for us ahead of time as we were about 5m away. They have a variety of different Korean dishes but as the name states, they seem to be known for their soondae. Food was amazing! Didn't disappoint and there were so many foods I wanted to try, will definitely be coming back for more.

OMG! This is sooooo good! We order stream pork, large intestine and abomasum BBQ, both of them are delicious. The waitress is really polite too.

The restaurant strikes a…read moregreat balance between casual comfort food and high-quality ingredients, and every visit has been consistently enjoyable. The star of the menu is definitely the pho. The broth is rich, flavorful, and clearly simmered with care--not overly salty or greasy like some places. The meats are tender, portions are generous, and the noodles always have the perfect texture. If you're a first-time visitor, I highly recommend trying one of their signature pho bowls. Their garlic noodles are another standout. Perfectly seasoned with a buttery garlic flavor and a slight savory kick, they pair incredibly well with the grilled meats. The shaken beef and grilled pork are both excellent options if you're looking for something beyond traditional pho. One thing that really sets Sup Noodle apart is the variety of appetizers and sides. The crispy egg rolls are packed with flavor, and the wings are surprisingly good--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated with just the right amount of sauce. Don't skip the house sauces either; they elevate every dish. The restaurant itself is modern, clean, and welcoming. Even during busy lunch and dinner hours, the staff does a great job keeping things moving and maintaining a friendly atmosphere. Service has always been attentive without feeling rushed. A few tips for first-time visitors: * Expect a wait during peak lunch and dinner times, especially on weekends. * The garlic noodles are absolutely worth adding to your order. * If you're dining with a group, order several appetizers to share. * Parking can get busy, but turnover is usually quick. Overall, Sup Noodle Bar delivers excellent food, generous portions, and consistently great service. Whether you're craving a comforting bowl of pho, flavorful garlic noodles, or simply looking for a reliable restaurant in Irvine, this place is well worth the visit. I'll definitely be coming back.

We came in as a group of four and left completely impressed by how seamlessly the kitchen and bar executed our order. Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

I like what they've done with the place and ambience. It's very warm and inviting. The service was attentive when I visited but it wasn't busy. One of the first things I noticed were the quality of the chopsticks. They reminded me of the disposable ones that came in paper packaging but with the paper removed. The wood was chipped in some places and uneven on the others. For a sit down restaurant in Spectrum, I would've expected better quality chopsticks or for them to have reusable ones. I'm a bit mixed on the spring rolls. The sauce is a coconut based sauce which isn't my personal preference but perfectly fine. The crunchy spring roll paper on the inside of the wrap is always a nice touch an appreciate for a variety in texture. However, the one choice they made that I felt like ruined the spring rolls was that they had seasoned shrimp in the spring roll. Usually a spring roll has a pretty clean taste that goes with a dipping sauce. As for the Pho, it was overall fine but nothing special. The texture of the meatballs was a little too fine and blended but that may be another personal preference. I prefer mine with a bit more bite. Overall the place is alright. At a 5, it's not a place I regretted going and still had nice food but a place I wouldn't consider visiting again. The price to quality and quantity ratio isn't there for a place as expensive as this in Spectrum.
