Ironically I went out for soup because it was rainy weather but instead of getting bone broth or kal-guksu, I randomly decided to get the spicy blood sausage soup. Best decision of my late night misadventures in a long time! It was very filling (you could probably order one item and split it or have plenty of food for leftovers the next day), it's not inexpensive but it's great value (but then again $20 for a meal out is kind of going rate standard so maybe it is inexpensive or comparable to most anything else you could choose?), and it's great quality. The soup is a combo meal that comes with rice, glass noodles, fish cakes in sauce, and kimchi. You can also modify the spice level to make it more mild or spicy depending on your preference. I don't know why I am so obsessed with the soup but I'm going to think about it for a while because I was 100% lost in the sauce while eating it - after you get halfway you can put the rice, part of the kimchi, and (maybe) the fish cakes in the soup so it gets closer to porridge and break up some of the blood sausage to mix it throughout. Service is friendly and can recommend different things to eat. I got my order as takeout but the dining atmosphere is really good for how close each table is to one another. I frequent here when I'm in the mood for comforting Korean soup and this slaps especially during chilly or rainy weather. For their soups, I'm a fan of their mandu rice cake soup when I'm not feeling spicy. Otherwise I get their original yukgaejang that is not too spicy but super comforting. This is also a great spot to grab galbijjim, it may seem expensive but it's so value in my opinion. It includes a generous portion of short rib, pumpkin, carrots, rice cakes, potato, and mushrooms. Once the sauce cooks down a bit, it creates a wonderful sweet and spicy glaze. The service here is very attentive and they always give us more banchan when we ask for more. All their banchan is amazing; we always get refills for it all - the fish cakes, kimchi, and chives. read more

I got the original yukgaejang with homemade ramen and it was soo good. They are generous with the portions with lots of noodles and beef. Their sides are super fresh and tasty. Love the bossam and noodle soups here! We came on a Tuesday evening and waited about 25 minutes to be seated for a party of 5. I ordered the seafood noodle soup with fresh pasta and had the medium sized bossam set to share with the table. The seafood noodle soup was extremely flavorful and packed with a variety of seafood including mussels, clams, and shrimp. I love the fresh pasta here too - it has the perfect bite. I've come here a few times and really enjoy their Bossam & Yukgaejang. The plaza they are located in has a ton of parking, and the restaurant is pretty spacious with lots of seating. We wanted to give this place a try after driving by. We like trying Korean places in the West Coast. Restaurants here look cute. We had a slight wait when we arrived. There was a party in front of us who didn't get to sit down because their party didn't all arrive, so we got their table. Eventually, a table cleared and they got seated. The restaurant is small with a very homey feeling. Artist canvases with pictures of Korean delicacies can be seen on the rightmost wall, with a long booth situated both beneath the canvases and along the wall across the way. Posters depicting menu items hang on the leftmost wall and you can also see a BTS poster and a "blanket" of Jungkook's face as well. We ordered the following: Army Style Hot Pot with Ramyun- Hubs used to wonder why Daughter loved this entree a lot but he now understands. He thought this order was great and that it had the right amount of spice. He really enjoyed it. Daughter said that this is her comfort meal and she loved this one a lot. Seafood premium Yukdaejang with soft tofu- Hubs loved this one and thought it was outstanding. It's like jjampong with tofu. Purple rice - we were very happy when we our server asked if we wanted purple rice. We love purple rice and not many places offer it out in the East Coast. This was soft and delicious! Compared to other Korean soup or stews, this one is perfect when you're having cramps or want something that'll soothe you. They packed my broth with tons of spring onion, scallions, and onions(?). Wish there was less of the aromatics and more noodles but c'est la vie. It's supposed to be bland so add salt and pepper accordingly. We ordered a small bossam and the premium tripe and brisky yukgaejang to share. I really liked the bossam, it was soft and fatty and it really tasted great with the sides especially with kimchi or anything pickled to cut some of the fat. This was also my first time trying bossam that is boiled in a variety of herbs, and it has a sweet savory soy sauce taste to it. I'm more used to bossam that isn't boiled in anything and might prefer that. I was not a fan of the yukgaejang, I like the glass noodles and brisket but the soup tasted a bit sandy or gritty to me. There was also very little brisket in the soup and it was mostly filled with tripe. The tripe were soft and chewy but some of them felt like it wasn't cleaned properly, after eating one that was a bit sandy I couldn't really bring myself to eat another one. read more

Modern, clean Korean restaurant. Ate here on a Sunday evening with no wait. Bossam- definitely the star of the show. It is a bit different from the bossam we are familiar with. It's warm instead of cold. The pork belly skin is braised/chewier instead of simply boiled. You wrap it in napa, not spicy kimchi, ssamjang (soybean paste), saeujeot (salted shrimp), raw garlic, jalepeno, and salted spicy radish I believe. There might have been another pickled dish but I'm not familiar with it. We orders a large platter for 7 hungry adults and it was just enough with our other two orders. Army Stew - spam, sausage, thick ramen noodles, flat tteobokki, variety of mushrooms, Napa cabbage, leeks, and pork pieces in spicy creamy broth. Oddly addicting. One of the servers offered to add more broth (I believe bone broth), which I appreciated because it brought down the spice level. Wish we knew to ask for it earlier. We came at Friday night around 5 and were seated right away, but within 30 minutes, there was a very long line forming outside. The food portions were noticeably smaller than before. The army-style hot pot contained mostly broth with very little tofu, sausage, or vegetables. The bulgogi was tough and overly sweet. Overall, the portion sizes and quality have declined significantly compared to past visits. In addition, the server was not very welcoming or friendly, which further affected the experience.
