They have a couple of TV's inside that were showing the World Cup. Looked over the menu and I decided on the meat lovers omelette. The food came out in waves.....mine came out first. I was gonna wait til everyone got their food, it was clear the second wave gonna be awhile. About 20 mins later the second wave of dishes came out - but we were still missing 3 others. The pancakes, chicken and waffles and the soft shell crab noodle thing. It was about another 12 mins before those came out. By the time the third wave came out, I was already done with eating. Now for my "meat lovers omelette" : 1/5 it was just a bunch of ham thrown into an omelette. No other meat was in there that I can tell. The salad was kinda odd to have as part of a breakfast dish. The French toast was dry and there was no syrup or anything for it. The best part of the dish was the breakfast potato's. That omelette was REALLY disappointing. Upon arriving for brunch around 11am on Sunday, there was a short 15min wait for table of 4. There were so many options for brunch and lunch Thai inspired dishes. It was tough to pick just a select few at the table! There were standard breakfast options with a twist, I ended up getting the rib-eye benedict, but subbed out English muffin for French toast! The rib eye was sliced and seemed very similar to the crying tiger dish that was also ordered at the table. Steak was seasoned well and tender to bite. The plate had a lot of food, including a basket of breakfast potatoes and side salad. I enjoyed the side salad adding a freshness to the dish! Most of the menu is on the pricier side, but well worth the what you're ordering with the portions! We also ordered the shrimp donut for the table, which highly resembles the fried shrimp balls at dimsum. There was an interesting sweet sauce that came with this, but could have used some freshness. I was also too full from my dish to eat much of this heavier dish! Service was prompt, as there were several workers around the small restaurant. However, the dishes for our table each came out one by one, seemingly the fried dishes were significantly slower. The last dish to come out - fried chicken benedict - was missing the poached eggs on top! A server quickly brought out some eggs+sauce upon notifying. It was really busy when we arrived, but luckily my boyfriend and I were able to be seated without much of a wait. It did take them a bit to take our order but at least we got to wait inside and comfortably seated. The restaurant was a little cramped but they are really trying to use up that square footage. They even have diners seating outdoors to maximize business. There was one TV in the corner that was playing one of the world cup games that morning. When they finally came to take our order, we decided to share the Shrimp Donut ($19). My entrees, my boyfriend decided on the Meat Lovers Omelette ($22) and I had the Kinaree Chicken Waffle ($25). I also ordered their Thai Iced Tea ($6). The shrimp donut came out after our entrees even though it's a started. It just tastes like fish paste they shaped and deep fried. The one on their menu was so pretty but the ones that came out to us were more like lumps than donut shaped. The taste was so-so. I wouldn't order this again. My boyfriend's meat lovers omelette was the best dish at our table from a portion and taste perspective. It had bacon, pork sausage, ham, sharp cheddar cheese, spinach and onion in the omelette. And each omelette is served with half a slice of French toast, breakfast potatoes, and salad. Very well rounded meal. Highly recommended. I don't like the French toast, could have been better soaked but the rest of the components on this plate was really strong and tasty. My Kinaree chicken waffle was less exciting. The fried chicken was really dried. Instead of one large chicken piece like other places who do this dish, they use scrap dries parts of the chicken and the batter is tough and hard. I was picking off the edges and trying to eat the edible parts. The waffle was like any old waffle. The two items tasted like two different dishes and it even came with 2 sauces. One for the waffle and one for the chicken. I ate about half of this, not because I was full, but because I didn't want to eat any more of it. We had to waive down staff for the check. They offered us boxes and I was like no thanks. This was a really expensive meal for me to leave so unsatisfied. You're paying for the cute decor, but when I go to brunch I want to eat tasty food too. read more

Since we are already there and we have our dog with us, we opted for the to go order. We ordered the Thai Noodle crab meat, Khao soi pork belly and kinaree fried rice total was $85 which is expensive for 3 orders, and the taste is very average nothing impressive. The service is very disappointing too, it makes you feel like they don't really want to accomodate you and we came around 2:30pm so it's not busy. I've read a couple of reviews about their poor service and I must say, it's true. For me, even if the food is just average but the service is exceptional I would definitely comeback but for this place, the food is just average and the service is bad as well so I am not coming back- there are a lot of other restaurants that are more affordable and they have a great service. read more

This is a fairly new restaurant. The cuisine is Northern Thailand's and the Khai So is the best I've tasted since my visit to Chiang Mai. We saw that there was a party of 20 so I'm guessing that's why the wait was very long. The inside is not super big, but very cute and aesthetic. We wanted to family style our meal. We had a very disappointing brunch experience at Kinaree today. The restaurant was busy around 11 a.m., but the service, food quality, and cleanliness were still unacceptable. We were a party of three and ordered the California omelette, garden omelette, and farmer's plate. After a long wait, a waitress delivered our food to another table, realized the mistake, picked the plates back up, and brought them directly to us. Even then, only two of our three meals arrived. The California omelette did not come out until about 15 minutes later. While we were eating, my sister found a long hair in her sunny-side-up eggs, and the silverware placed on her plate was visibly dirty. The farmer's plate was taken back, but the replacement took another 15 to 20 minutes. No clean utensils were provided with it. We asked a waiter for a fork, but he continued bussing and seating other tables while ignoring us. We also noticed that he did not appear to wash his hands after bussing tables. We eventually had to ask another waitress for silverware. Unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait. Both omelettes were runny and watery. The spinach tasted like frozen spinach that had simply been mixed in, and the avocado was far from being fresh. It was warm, tasted off, and appeared to have been scooped from a container. The side salads had an unpleasant, stale taste. The only item we found edible was the potatoes. My mom also felt sick and had an upset stomach after the meal. We all only ate a little of it and then decided to stop. Between the hair in the food, dirty silverware, mishandled plates, poor service, and flavorless food, we were extremely uncomfortable with the overall hygiene and quality. The bill was around $70, which felt like a complete rip-off for such a poor experience. The pad ka prao was a bit on the sweeter side. I like my pad ka prao more savory than sweet, but the flavor was good. I like that it is paired with some roasted potatoes. Kinaree is a new spot that's Thai AND American brunch fusion. Their menu is EXTENSIVE and there's basically something for everyone here. I tried Thai-style super crispy fried chicken, braised beef khao soi, curry with soft shell crab, and jumbo crab pad Thai. I'm not kidding...this meal is still living in my head rent-free, and everything was just absolutely picture-perfect. The crunch on the gigantic garlic prawns was actually insane, and reminded me so much of the super crispy shell-on prawns from Lotus of Siam in Vegas (iykyk). For the more classic breakfast-y items, they have jiggly souffle pancakes, steak & eggs, and even battered fish eggs benedict that you have to try It's such a fantastic spot and the interior is just so cute. The eggs were poached perfectly, and the salmon wasn't overly fishy at all. The hollandaise wasn't super traditional and leaned a bit thicker than expected, but it was still very well-seasoned and worked surprisingly well with the dish. We also ordered the Khao Yum Kai Zabb, which was absolutely incredible. The sauce drenching the fried chicken was super flavorful and really unique. It had a more acidic/vinegar-forward flavor that reminded me a bit of a Filipino dish, plus a strong fried shallot flavor that made it even better. Also have to shout out the Thai tea--it was delicious, and they definitely do not skimp on the tea flavor. So many places make it overly sweet, but this one had a strong tea taste that I loved. The first time we visited was right after they opened, and I think they had more time to make quality food and for quick service time. Hers came first and then my burned Belgian waffle arrived dry and tasteless. I decided I wouldn't be back. High prices and long waits! We came here at a none peak time and the wait was really long. It appears there isn't enough staff to have the restaurant be full. We were one couple amongst many wondering why we couldn't be seated at one of the many empty tables. The price for this type of comfort food was very high. Brunch for 2 with no drinks was $60. The decor inside is ok and appropriate for the area. The servers seem to be nice and helpful. The only downside is the layout as you're sitting shoulder to shoulder with other tables. It felt as though they were sitting at my table and in fact to my right one Chinese guy was talking with his mouthful and his food was flying out of his moth and was landing on the ground near our feet and table - disgusting Has some potential but the quality of the food didn't warrant the high prices. Finally to have a new Thai spot where you don't need to be waiting forever to eat. ( I came during a weekday lunch hour) I love a menu that has pictures! Although each picture makes decision making worse when you want to order most things in the menu. I went for their beef Khao Soi- it was full of flavor but on the oiler side. Next up was the chicken waffle, the chicken wasn't dry and I did love the sauce that came with it. The crème brûlée French toast did take like 30 min to prepare so order in advance if you want that. I had to try the matcha coconut drink with huge chunks of coconut slabs that was a treat to bite into once I finished my refreshing drink. Unique Thai fusion brunch spot. Had a wide variety of menu options ranging from more breakfast type to full meals. The inside is nicely decorate as well. Parking is ample in the shopping center too. Luckily we didn't wait very long for a weekend, ~15mins. Got the beef khao soi and the kinaree fried chicken plate. The khao soi is pretty good with a decent amount of spice to it. The fried chicken was flavorful with the chili rice powder dipping sauce, sweet sauce, and sticky rice in a traditional bamboo steamer. My main complaint is the fried chicken was over fried so it was a bit burnt and dry. The sticky rice also could've used some more soaking as it was sticky enough so it also felt dry. I definitely would like to come back to try more items as the menu is so different from other brunch spots! read more

I don't think any place in the OC or even LA can come close to this amazing brunch spot. It may not be a hole in the wall and may look sheik but the food speaks for itself and it will blow your taste buds away! The Garlic prawns are garlicky and hard to put down!!! If you like a good omelette then the holy chili bomb basil omelette is the only choice for your omelette fix. My favorite dish was the KHOA SOI beef with a rich broth and thick noodles that make sure slurp. Make sure to keep it going with the soft shell crab!! They even have steak and eggs. The meat is very tender and nicely cut. And i probably had the best bennys in the west side here. The battered fish Benedict was scrumptious and soft. I didn't think they could keep outdoing themselves but they brought the Hat Yai fried chicken which was crispy to Perfection. One of the best fried chicken in the OC without a doubt. Make sure to also get the crab meat pad Thai. For dessert you can't go wrong with the mango sticky rice or the fluffiest soufflé pancakes.
