For appetizers we shared the fried crab rolls and the shrimp donuts. Both are crisp, flavorful and fun to eat! For our mains we ordered the Thai bomb omelette, the fried fish egg Benedict and the northern Thai sausage plate with sticky rice. Food came out well decorated for the eyes and smells devine. Welcome to Irvine! This place is the whole package. Easy parking, super friendly staff, and bright, casual space. The food...well, come hungry and try as many things as you can. I came here a couple times and these are the only pics I could get because we dove right in! So far my favorite is the crab fried rice. The flavor combination just hits you. I have no idea what the green sauce was but it was a perfect condiment for this dish. I kind of love fried chicken and have been told that I eat too much of it. I came here for brunch on Easter Sunday. We waited less than 15mins to get seated even though it seemed busy. We all ordered brunch foods, even though the menu also has a good variety of Thai dishes as well. We also got an order of the soufflé pancakes to share, which was the highlight of the meal for me. The pancakes were light and fluffy, and were topped with whipped cream and a delicious strawberry sauce. I ordered the smoked salmon benedict for my main, which came with potatoes and salad. The flavors were good and I liked the variety of ingredients used in the dishes! Everyone else at my table also said they enjoyed their meal. It was a bit hard to get attention from the waiters, as it seems they are a bit understaffed and it was quite busy. Our table was missing condiments, and we couldn't get the waiters attention to bring us some, so we ended up just borrowing them from an empty table. I wanted to try something new for lunch and decided to give this restaurant a try as it has been on my bucket list for some time. This is a very unique Thai fusion restaurant and a few friends have recommended going there. I placed an online order and ordered the holy chili bomb basil omelette, which is essentially pad ka prao filling in the omelette. I am not big on omelettes, but I do love pad ka prao. The pad ka prao was a bit on the sweeter side. I like my pad ka prao more savory than sweet, but the flavor was good. I like that it is paired with some roasted potatoes. I am not too fond of the bread, which is like a French toast texture minus the sweet maple syrup and cinnamon. I wish I was served with a Thai chili fish sauce for the omelette. My order was ready within the time it promised me. It was packed with utensils and napkins when I went to pick it up. From what I saw while waiting, the restaurant is small but cute. Found Kinaree Eatery in Irvine off TikTok and honestly really glad we did because this place surprised all of us. We started with drinks and a few of us got the Strawberry Matcha and Ube Matcha, and both were really good. At first glance they looked like they were going to be way too sweet, but they were actually perfect. Super creamy, still had that slight bitter matcha flavor, and the strawberry tasted fresh without overpowering it. The Ube Matcha was also really well balanced and didn't take over the drink. For food, I got the Bacon Avocado Benedict and was very happy with it. Good portion size, Potatoes were nice and crispy, and everything tasted solid. The Salad was just okay though, could've used a bit more dressing. One of my friends got the Steak and Eggs and said it was perfectly cooked medium rare and the Chimichurri was actually really good. It is on the pricier side around $32, but he said it was worth it. Another friend got the Mamas Creamy Tom Yum Hot Pot and that thing was massive. Easily could be split between two people. It came out in this big bowl on fire and was packed with flavor without being overly spicy. You could really taste the Tom Yum, and it had Ground Pork, Shrimp, and Crispy Pork Belly which we even added extra of. Definitely one of the top dishes. We also tried the Soufflé Crème Brûlée Pancakes which were fluffy, airy, and had a really nice sweetness to them. But the number one winner for everyone was easily the Kinaree Fried Chicken. All eight of us tried it and it had that perfect crispy crunch you can literally hear, super juicy on the inside, and the sauces were great with both sweet and spicy options. Overall this place looks a bit like a hole in the wall but completely overdelivered. Loved this place! The menu felt like it was the Cheesecake Factory menu haha there's just sooo many options. Luckily we did our research and knew what we wanted beforehand. We made a reservation for 10 am on a Saturday morning and it wasn't packed yet but by the time we left all of the tables were full. The waiter was friendly and professional, patiently answering questions we had. When our 4 dishes came out we were so impressed with the portion sizes, presentation, and great flavors. Finally to have a new Thai spot where you don't need to be waiting forever to eat. ( I came during a weekday lunch hour) I love a menu that has pictures! Although each picture makes decision making worse when you want to order most things in the menu. I went for their beef Khao Soi- it was full of flavor but on the oiler side. Next up was the chicken waffle, the chicken wasn't dry and I did love the sauce that came with it. The crème brûlée French toast did take like 30 min to prepare so order in advance if you want that. I had to try the matcha coconut drink with huge chunks of coconut slabs that was a treat to bite into once I finished my refreshing drink. However, our experience felt unwelcoming from the start. We arrived with two babies and politely requested a corner booth. The braised pork leg was interesting and tasted similar to Chinese-style braised pork belly. Unfortunately, the Tom Yum soup was disappointing--despite looking appealing, the noodles made the soup overly soggy and affected the texture. Kinaree Eatery is a new Thai restaurant in Irvine's Quail Hill. You won't find pad thai or pad see ew, but they do offer an assortment of breakfast/brunch dishes, along with some entrees. I was curious to try the khao soi with chicken ($22) since it seems that the dish varies greatly from restaurant to restaurant. They have five spice levels - from not spicy to very hot. The waiter took one look at me and said that I could handle the medium. I was a little worried because even though I'm Asian, I am sensitive to spice. Turns out he was right. Their khao soi is not as rich and coconutty as other versions. It was very flavorful, with lots of pickled greens and noodles. My only complaint is that the chicken was not as tender as I would have liked (love it when it falls right off the bone), but at least I didn't have to engage in a battle to remove the meat. Service is very attentive (they kept my water glass from getting empty) and the interior is decorated nicely. I wish that the pricing wasn't as high - it's the one thing keeping me from rushing back. They close at 4pm, so don't try coming here for dinner. Lots of parking in the lot. read more

I've visited Kinaree Eatery twice, and while the food was consistently good, the service issues were also consistent. I'd rate the food a solid 4/5; The flavors are great, presentation is nice, and the Asian fusion menu is exciting. The service, unfortunately, has been closer to a 1.5/5 both times. On my second visit, I brought my mom because she had looked over the menu beforehand and was genuinely impressed and excited to try it. We ordered the steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, and the crème brûlée soufflé pancakes. The steak and eggs came out first without issue, but then we waited about 30 minutes for the chicken and waffles. We eventually had to remind them that it still hadn't come out. After that, we waited another hour for the crème brûlée soufflé pancakes and again, we had to remind them. We were told, "It should be out in 10 minutes," but instead they brought out the regular berry soufflé pancakes. The woman who had just been seated next to us waved down the server and said, "Oh, that's mine." The server apologized and told us they hadn't actually made the crème brûlée pancakes yet. It took another 15-20 minutes before we finally received them. We waited almost an hour and a half for the crème brûlée soufflé pancakes. Overall, the long waits and mix-up were disappointing, especially since there wasn't much of an apology beyond a quick acknowledgment, and nothing was comped or discounted for the inconvenience. It left us feeling a bit overlooked while other tables were getting their orders just fine. The seating is also very tight for two-top tables; You can clearly hear the entire conversation of the table next to you. They have plenty of outdoor seating, but we were told they aren't opening that area, which felt a little inconvenient given how cramped and loud it can be inside. Also worth noting: They currently don't have a Yelp waitlist and currently don't take reservations. You have to show up and put your name down in person. I'd recommend coming earlier if you plan to eat here because it can get very busy. I do think they have huge potential, especially since they seem fairly new. The food itself is good, and I truly want to like this place and hope the service and care for the customers in waiting time for food can immensely improve. read more

Kinaree is interesting. It's Thai but also fusion. They have traditional Thai dishes on the menu, and also American dishes like chicken waffles. We got the khao soi and chicken waffles. The dishes were so beautiful and rich in colors, just like the decors in the restaurant. Service was friendly. The reason I gave a 4 star was because the prices were a bit high, for the food you get. The fried chicken was on the dry side and a little bland. The chicken in khao soi was tender but not falling off the bones soft. They are newly opened and probably need time to settle. The boat noodles had this super rich, comforting broth that tasted like it had layers of flavor built into it. The noodles were cooked just right and the toppings actually had some substance to them -- not the skimpy kind. The Belly Belly came out with that perfect crunchy crust but the inside stayed really soft and juicy. And their green tea? Honestly one of the smoothest Thai green teas I've had. The place gets super busy, so I highly recommend making a recommendation before hand. We tried a variety of dishes. I think the best dish was the crab fried rice. The green sauce was a delicious pairing. The kow soi was a little underwhelming. The noodles were more on the al dente side. I prefer a softer noodle that's easier to chew. The soufflé pancakes are a nice shareable dessert. If you are a matcha person, I would not recommend any of the matcha drinks. Unfortunately the matcha is extremely bitter and it took a lot of Splenda packets to make it more appetizing. Ambience and service was decent for being a brand new restaurant. While we still enjoyed the meal overall, the long gaps between servings affected the flow of the dining experience. The restaurant has a lot of potential, and with better staffing on busy holidays--both in the kitchen and in the front of house--the customer service could match the quality of the food. Very cute place! I love to support small family-ran businesses like this! Smoked Salmon Benedict was alright in my book but the real star of the meal was the Khao Soi with Soft Shell Crab! Broth was flavorful and paired nicely with the noodles and pickled veggies. As a spice lord, I'd always recommend getting it hot hot but you can do medium or none. This makes me want to try more their Thai proper dishes in the future. If you also enjoy something sweet, the matcha cheesecake was scrumptious. Soft and creamy, I quickly devoured this. I came with a friend for brunch and we loved the food! He had the soufflé pancake with bacon. It was perfectly fluffy and paired well with the salty crispy bacon. I tried the holy chili bomb basil omelette. It was very flavorful. I was only able to finish half and took the rest home. The next day I paired it with rice and it was delicious!
