Another Crab Fried Rice
Katie O.

Welcome to Irvine! This place is the whole package. Easy parking, super friendly staff, and bright, casual space. The food...well, come hungry and try as many things as you can. I came here a couple times and these are the only pics I could get because we dove right in! So far my favorite is the crab fried rice. The flavor combination just hits you. I have no idea what the green sauce was but it was a perfect condiment for this dish. I kind of love fried chicken and have been told that I eat too much of it. This fried chicken was seasoned to perfection, the batter was not too thick, & it was perfectly crispy. I am already looking forward to coming back to try brunch!

I came here for brunch on Easter Sunday. We waited less than 15mins to get seated even though it seemed busy. We all ordered brunch foods, even though the menu also has a good variety of Thai dishes as well. We also got an order of the soufflé pancakes to share, which was the highlight of the meal for me. The pancakes were light and fluffy, and were topped with whipped cream and a delicious strawberry sauce. I ordered the smoked salmon benedict for my main, which came with potatoes and salad. The flavors were good and I liked the variety of ingredients used in the dishes! Everyone else at my table also said they enjoyed their meal. It was a bit hard to get attention from the waiters, as it seems they are a bit understaffed and it was quite busy. Our table was missing condiments, and we couldn't get the waiters attention to bring us some, so we ended up just borrowing them from an empty table. Not ideal, but we didn't want to bother them too much. I enjoyed the food here a lot, so hopefully I'll have the chance to come back and try some different dishes in the future!

I wanted to try something new for lunch and decided to give this restaurant a try as it has been on my bucket list for some time. This is a very unique Thai fusion restaurant and a few friends have recommended going there. I placed an online order and ordered the holy chili bomb basil omelette, which is essentially pad ka prao filling in the omelette. I am not big on omelettes, but I do love pad ka prao. The pad ka prao was a bit on the sweeter side. I like my pad ka prao more savory than sweet, but the flavor was good. I like that it is paired with some roasted potatoes. I am not too fond of the bread, which is like a French toast texture minus the sweet maple syrup and cinnamon. I wish I was served with a Thai chili fish sauce for the omelette. My order was ready within the time it promised me. It was packed with utensils and napkins when I went to pick it up. From what I saw while waiting, the restaurant is small but cute. I appreciate the Thai-inspired artwork on the walls.

Found Kinaree Eatery in Irvine off TikTok and honestly really glad we did because this place surprised all of us. We started with drinks and a few of us got the Strawberry Matcha and Ube Matcha, and both were really good. At first glance they looked like they were going to be way too sweet, but they were actually perfect. Super creamy, still had that slight bitter matcha flavor, and the strawberry tasted fresh without overpowering it. The Ube Matcha was also really well balanced and didn't take over the drink. For food, I got the Bacon Avocado Benedict and was very happy with it. Good portion size, Potatoes were nice and crispy, and everything tasted solid. The Salad was just okay though, could've used a bit more dressing. One of my friends got the Steak and Eggs and said it was perfectly cooked medium rare and the Chimichurri was actually really good. It is on the pricier side around $32, but he said it was worth it. Another friend got the Mamas Creamy Tom Yum Hot Pot and that thing was massive. Easily could be split between two people. It came out in this big bowl on fire and was packed with flavor without being overly spicy. You could really taste the Tom Yum, and it had Ground Pork, Shrimp, and Crispy Pork Belly which we even added extra of. Definitely one of the top dishes. We also tried the Soufflé Crème Brûlée Pancakes which were fluffy, airy, and had a really nice sweetness to them. But the number one winner for everyone was easily the Kinaree Fried Chicken. All eight of us tried it and it had that perfect crispy crunch you can literally hear, super juicy on the inside, and the sauces were great with both sweet and spicy options. Overall this place looks a bit like a hole in the wall but completely overdelivered. Huge variety of food, everything came out crazy fast, and it's just a really solid brunch spot. 10 out of 10.

Loved this place! The menu felt like it was the Cheesecake Factory menu haha there's just sooo many options. Luckily we did our research and knew what we wanted beforehand. We made a reservation for 10 am on a Saturday morning and it wasn't packed yet but by the time we left all of the tables were full. We literally ordered everything off the menu and everything was so good. Definitely shareable plates. My favorites were probably the soufflé pancakes and the holy bomb chili omelette. Looking forward to coming back!

i came here for a sunday brunch with my cousin, and everything we got here was so good!!! the portion sizes were huge and great for sharing, so definitely come hungry! - Holy Chili Bomb Basil Omelette: i can't believe i've never come across this creation anywhere else because it is literally so good. great flavor from the beef & veggie combo that paired well with the soft egg omelette! i thought the name was cute and funny too hehe - Make it Rice / Jumbo Crab Meat: it is literally in the name, but the crab meat pieces were huge and yummy! this rice was also flavored really well, and the sauce on the side has a great tanginess to balance the richness of the fried rice. - Khao Soi Soft Shell Crab: really good and standard khao soi! the pickled veggies are a great contrast to the richness of the soup. the crab was fried perfectly crispy! - Lychee Pleasesy: a yummy lychee tea, no issues with it! overall, this was a really good thai brunch spot! it was pretty crowded when i came, and wait was still about 15-20 mins for my party of 2, so be prepared to wait! i think it was definitely worth it though, and i would for sure come back to try the other dishes!

Ok this is one solid restaurant. The service, food, atmosphere, and prices were so right. My friend and I dined on a weekday around noon and it wasn't very busy. The waiter was friendly and professional, patiently answering questions we had. When our 4 dishes came out we were so impressed with the portion sizes, presentation, and great flavors. I loved that they weren't too conservative in making their food a little spicier. The sweet, savory, and spicy kick of the apple salad made it so unique and refreshing easily making this my favorite dish. It also came with a gigantic piece of fish. They are not skimping on the fish at all! Only one thing that was a minor detractor from the experience and it was the lack of high chairs. I don't think I've ever gone to a restaurant that doesn't have high chairs.

5* Food 5* Service 5* Ambiance In a prominently developed housing area, this hidden gem opened in October and has made quite a splash. Clean and colorfully decorated with flowers and artwork, this busy eatery is the highlight of the neighborhood. The menu offers many classic dishes (some with a new and flavorful twist) and a few original chef specialties that are vibrant and explosive. As we looked around other tables, the portions for brunch were generous and beautifully presented. Wine, beer and cocktails, along with traditional drinks such as matcha, Thai iced tea, fresh orange juice, and so much more, are on the menu. We ordered the crying tiger and tom yum noodle soup. The crying tiger does not come with rice and I found it more enjoyable once we had rice added to our order. The portion of this particular dish is small, but the quality of the beef is excellent and the flavors of the dressings elevate the dish further. The tom yum noodle soup has fish balls, shrimp, pork and sausage. The flavors are explosive and absolutely delicious. The owner of the restaurant was also present which made our visit even more enjoyable. Great little restaurant packed with flavor.

I met a friend here for a lunch meeting, and while waiting for her, I decided to order the crab fried rice. The portion was generous and came with a green sauce that paired perfectly with the rice. The lump crab meat was sweet, fresh, and absolutely delicious. It's easily enough for 2-3 servings, and I highly recommend this dish. I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu.

Khoa Soi Braised Beef Pandan Sweet Tea
Harmony C.

Loved the Panda sweet tea. It's really one of a kind! Not too sweet, just right! The Khoa Soi Braised Beef was sooo yummy and really the star of the show. We also ordered the Kinaree fried chicken. The chili sauce mix was sooo good and was a perfect pair with the chicken! It comes with sticky rice and is a fun texture to pair with the crunch fried chicken. Want to come back and try the desserts next time! And definitely re-order the pandan sweet tea. The service was good and the ambience was calm. It can get crowded on weekends

Creme brulee french toast

This place definitely feels like one of the more pricier Thai options in the area, but it's a pretty solid choice in quality. The kitchen seems small and they didn't have a lot of staff on hand when we went, so expect possible slower service than other places. Everyone was friendly though. We went for brunch and ordered: - pandan sweet tea: the pandan was way too subtle and light... Wouldn't recommend this - creme brulee french toast: this was okay. The creme brulee flavor didn't really mesh well with the toast for us. Maybe it would have tasted better if the edges of the toast were crispy - crispy belly & belly rice: this was pretty good but a bit expensive - soft shell crab: the texture of the crab was perfectly crunchy. It comes with a lot of sauce which was a bit on the salty side though The look of the restaurant is very bright and fun with all the flower decorations, but they were playing club music in the background which is quite a choice with the two conflicting vibes... Parking was also pretty easy when we went.

Surprisingly, good breakfast here. For a small place the menu is pretty extensive and very authentic Thai. However, they have done a blend of Thai and American for breakfast. Really enjoyed it and plan to return. Our waiter Buzz was great, very attentive and friendly.

Service is a little slow, but they're still new. Food was hit and miss. The chicken waffle was the favorite with the pad Thai coming in close. The dishes are a bit on the higher end of pricing with dishes being around $25 each. Would go back and try more for a special occasion.

My lunch experience with my coworkers was fantastic and everyone enjoyed the food at Nep. We ordered a few dishes to share: fried calamari, chicken wings, broccolini, garlic noodles and filet mignon, chicken and sticky rice and chicken rice porridge. We ended it with a dessert of mango and pandan sticky rice. Each dish was bursting with different flavors and textures. They are all plated beautifully. I loved all of it! There was a lot of garlic and umami flavors, which I love. Nice touch with having complimentary mouthwash available inside the restroom. So thoughtful! Mother's Day treat 4.3* rating out of 3,245 reviews (at the time of writing). Now I know why this place has high rating and the long line after trying it out for the first time. The restaurant looks small from the exterior, but it's actually extended to the back and quite spacious as you enter. Service was excellent, quick, friendly and welcoming. The Pho was excellent, the broth was rich and sweet. The portion of the noodle was just nice for 1-time serving. However, you can have as much noodle (not the broth) re-fills as you like. The beef very tender and melts in your mouth. Will be back to try the Peruvian food next time.

Our server was super kind and attentive throughout our dining experience. Everything on the menu looked so delicious and unique so we ended up ordering a variety of dishes with a couple of standouts. Anthony Bourdain Pho: 5/5 This dish was easily one of the top highlights of our meal! The filet mignon was super tender, and the flat noodles had that perfect chewy, bouncy texture. The northern-style broth also really elevated the dish as it tasted rich, smoky, and was packed with flavor from the wok seared onions and garlic. This is definitely a must-order! Combination Pho Shaken Style: 5/5 The combination pho was super tasty! Similar to the Anthony Bourdain, the shaken style broth brought a nice northern twist to a classic pho order! The regular noodles tasted fresh and soft yet still slightly chewy, and the rib bone was so tender it fell off the bone easily. This is definitely a must order if you prefer traditional style pho. Lomo Saltado with Cajun Garlic Noodles: 4/5 I had some mixed feelings about this dish. The filet mignon cubes weren't as tender as expected and was slightly overcooked, but the dish still had some strong elements. The aji verde sauce paired really well with the crispy fries and was honestly one of the best parts of the dish! The garlic noodles however were a little disappointing. The Cajun seasoning unfortunately overpowered the fragrance of the garlic while somehow still lacking that savory depth. However, overall the lomo saltado itself was still beautifully seasoned with a nice tanginess that cuts through the smoky and umami taste. House Shaken Fries: 5/5 Yet another standout! The thin, crispy fries were drenched in a spicy tartar sauce reminiscent of the spread from in-n out, and it was topped with generous slices of beef belly that added a rich, fatty texture. Topped with caramelized onions, it really added a perfect sweetness to the dish while the sauce along with the cheese tied everything together without being too heavy. We honestly came for the pho but this dish absolutely stole the show. This is a must-order every time. SUP Noodle Bar absolutely lives up to the hype with their creative take on Vietnamese fusion. From the smoky Northern style broths to the bold and flavor-packed fusion dishes, every item feels thoughtfully executed. The lively atmosphere and great service made our dining experience even better. Will definitely be back to explore more of the menu and reorder our favorites!

NEP has a ton of parking outside, and offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I really loved the interior of the restaurant, there's a few different sections with different vibes while still maintaining that modern feel throughout. The staff were all SUPER friendly, which I really appreciated. Vibes and Service were both top notch. On the food front unfortunately, there's certainly room for improvement. The chicken wings were VERY salty courtesy the fish sauce, I wish that the chili and garlic could be tasted but the fish sauce overpowered the dish (the wings were also on the dry side which didn't help). The seafood ceviche was very bright and refreshing, my main critique is the use of shrimp chips vs. a rice chip, as the shrimp chip adds a salty element that kind of overpowers the dish IMO. The garlic noodles were delicious and probably my favorite item, but the shrimp it came with was bland and more of a hassle to eat than anything. I'd recommend they removed the shells or did a better job marinating the shrimp so that it actually had more flavor than just being an oily mess to eat. I will say, everything was visually appealing, but the flavors just weren't there unfortunately. I would like to revisit again and try some other items next time, because NEP does have a ton to offer. I wouldn't necessarily recommend any of the items I had today, but I'd certainly give this place another shot.
