We used to be regulars here but when we tried to come last week we were presented with a completely different menu. I believe ownership changed and they transitioned from delicious Korean soups and shareable dishes to an udon and katsu place. We didn't stay because thats not what we were craving. Sadly we probably won't be back unless they switch back to their old menu.

We ordered the Yukaejang and Donkatsu. I always knew their yukaejang was always bomb, but I was surprised at how good their katsu was! David was our server and he was very gentle and accommodating. Kindly asked for side dish refills and asked how we were doing without being overly intrusive! David made our dining experience so pleasant and would love to give him this shoutout for excellent customer service! Thanks David!!

We devoured it.

This review is my third and final review of this fantastic gem of neighborhood special authentic Irvine Korean restaurant at the finest location with finest service and authentic tasting food. We ordered Soondwe Pork Small Intestinal Lining Blood Sausage with Kidney Meat thinly sliced and served on a portable gas burner with steam from the water under the perforated base metal tray on the table top exceptionally delicious and plentiful serving and of course the YukGyeJang the home cooking at its finest shredded beef soup with green onions and tons of other vegetables cooked for very long time. Both were excellent and too large for one person. The rice wine MakGeoli was also amazing. Overall Five Solid Stars for all categories: service, cleanliness, price, taste and portions

We were looking for something new to try. We went to plaza in Irvine we rarely ever go to and decided to try Tang N Tang. It was definitely a great find! We weren't familiar with some of the items and the waiter was very kind and patient with explaining what everything was. We ordered Ugeoji Galbi Tang (Spicy Ox Bone Broth with Beef short ribs). The short rib was so tender it just fell off the bone and and broth was really good. We got it with the Bossom Combo so it came with steamed pork belly and kimchi platter. That was delicious as well. We also ordered the Donkatsu. It's a pork katsu with a salad. Very crispy and large portion. Parking is plenty and easy. We went on Friday night and we were seated right away. We will definitely be back!

The food was very good; the environment was okay. The chairs were wobbly and the cushions had tears. Not a big deal- but - decreases the feeling of the experience. The food was very good though. The seollangtang was excellent- and the Samgyetang was good. The service was matter of fact.

We've known about this place for a while but haven't been here in a while. It was much better than we remembered. I had the yookgaejang because I seen to recall not liking what I had the previous time (can't remember what it was) and yookgaejang is pretty hard to mess up. It was good -- but again, as a dish it's hard to mess up My wife had the galbi tang and you can see from the picture it came with some huge pieces of meat. She said it was very good. The banchan were good but nothing special. The place is very clean and the service was good. If I could give 4 1/2 stars, I would.

MUL-BIBIM NAENG MEON

Let's be honest - we came for the adorable frozen broth bear that comes with (I'm pretty sure) the MUL-BIBIM NAENG MEON (spicy noodle with cold broth), but I would just double check with the waitress before ordering to make sure you can enjoy the bear. He doesn't photograph super well, but he sure tastes good and will ensure that your cold noodles stay chilly and delicious on a hot day. We also shared a massive seafood pancake - very tasty and reheated well the next day on stovetop. Service was great and very prompt about replenishing our favorite banchan items. Ambiance is casual and parking wasn't too tricky given how large the lot is, even though it's shared with many other restaurants and stores.

We got the ugeogi galbi tang and seafood pancake. The bonchon they had tasted very fresh and had great flavor. They always asked if wanted refills on them, all around nice and attentive people. The ugeogi galbi tang had this sour/fermented flavor that is different from the normal galbi tang which I thought was a nice change of pace. I liked the cabbage and the sprouts, gave the soup a nice crunch. The seafood pancakes had amazing texture, a good combination of crunchy outside while being a little doughy in the middle. The most prominent flavor was squid which I love.

first time trying seolleongtang. amazing banchan, loved all of it. particularly enjoyed the kimchi. very quick service. tea was served in a pitcher, and it was the perfect temperature. they were still cooking the rice, which resulted in a 5 minutes wait that they were very apologetic about, despite it not being an issue for us at all. the seolleongtang itself was pretty good. not much to note about it, it seems like a pretty straightforward, basic dish. but it was very comforting, and i will definitely keep it in mind for the future when the days get colder. though, i have my eye on some of the other dishes for the next time i come here.

Tang N Tang is a great option if you want Korean food, but it's not for everyone. As the name suggests, they lean more towards soups and stews. Galbi jjim is, of course, a popular option. Spicy pork: 8/10. Different than other places in that this has stir fried cabbage in here and the cutest dumbell shaped rice cakes. That said, it's not what I expected when I ordered spicy pork. I personally prefer not having rice cakes in my spicy pork, but my mom loved it and couldn't get enough of it. Galbi jjim: 9/10. The star of the show, but not pictured. The meat is so tender and I love the vegetables in here. Short ribs: 8/10. Good, but it didn't stand out. Bossam: 7.5/10. Good, but nothing special. Banchan: 8/10. Excellent and free refills as always, but more limited options. I prefer the banchan at other places. I still really enjoyed it, though, especially the one that looks like chives. People here are nice. It was easy to sit in and eat since I went during off hours. It was very casual and relaxed. There wasn't too much seating, so I'm sure it gets full at peak hours. Parking is of course easy and free in this lot.

Located in a shopping center, so parking is easy! This place was amazing! Easily 5 stars for me. Their utensils are located in the side drawer of your table. Very clean. The locations in which they seat you is to allow you space, which I find very thoughtful. Yukgaejang - 5/5! It even has egg in it! Super filling, the taste is perfect! Just how I like it. Very flavorful. They do not skimp out on ingredients, so it's well worth it to me. This place would be my go to, if I lived in Irvine. Galbitang- came w scissors and tongs to help you. My sister enjoyed it. Said it was very filling. Banchan- loveeee their kimchi. It's not too citrusy, and it's made just right! If I wasn't so full from the Yukgaejang, I would've ate all of the side dishes easily. Employees are super sweet, helpful, attentive, and quick. Food came out fast. I would 10000% come back! Loved it! Thank you for a great experience!

Tang n Tang at Northpark Plaza is super convenient with easy parking! It's a great spot for some delicious Korean food, plus you can grab a drink afterward at Boba Time or Starbucks in the mall. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. I tried the bossam combo, spicy beef flank soup, naengmyeon, pork cutlet, and pork bulgogi! The bossam combo is perfect for 2-3 people, and everything was fresh, especially the pork cutlet--it was so tender. The naengmyeon with teddy bear ice (broth) is so cute and definitely Insta-worthy! Also, try the SANG makgeoli--I loved it with bossam or spicy food. Excellent service too! A great spot for a quick and casual meal!

You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

My naengmyun came out shortly after the banchan, and I was so surprised by how big the portion was! It had a good amount of meat and cucumber too. It was so much that I was able to take home half. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes out!

Best decision of my late night misadventures in a long time! It was very filling (you could probably order one item and split it or have plenty of food for leftovers the next day), it's not inexpensive but it's great value (but then again $20 for a meal out is kind of going rate standard so maybe it is inexpensive or comparable to most anything else you could choose?), and it's great quality. The soup is a combo meal that comes with rice, glass noodles, fish cakes in sauce, and kimchi. You can also modify the spice level to make it more mild or spicy depending on your preference. I don't know why I am so obsessed with the soup but I'm going to think about it for a while because I was 100% lost in the sauce while eating it - after you get halfway you can put the rice, part of the kimchi, and (maybe) the fish cakes in the soup so it gets closer to porridge and break up some of the blood sausage to mix it throughout. Service is friendly and can recommend different things to eat. I got my order as takeout but the dining atmosphere is really good for how close each table is to one another. Everyone still has enough space to be on their own but because you're closer together it kind of feels communal.

However, a few years ago, the restaurant changed ownership, and things have gone downhill since then. Prices have increased, the taste is different, and most importantly, the service is no longer good. Because of that, we stopped going there for at least two years. The other day, I took my father there again just to see if anything had improved, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. The service was still really bad. We ordered one of the specials from the menu, and nobody informed us that ordering the special meant it would not include the usual side dishes. This was very poor communication on their part. They should clearly mention that in the menu before customers order. Instead, after we ordered, they told us that the side dishes were not included. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, especially compared to how good this place used to be.
