    Tteokbokki
    Mel Y.

Surprised at the amount of food and quality! The tteokbokki was soft yet still chewy but not hard and we asked for mild. The mild is good enough for average spice takers. There's kimbap had such a great portion of veggies compared to rice. All this was super filling. Even the half order of the tteokbokki was plenty! Lots of chairs and tables to sit at. Saw a lot of families eating nearby. Really great place to stop for some comfort food at a great quality and decent price.

Holy cow! Their cream cheese gimbap is awesome! So flavorful with plentiful fresh ingredients. The cashier was nice. Located inside my favorite HMart - Westpark in the food court towards the back on your left side. I'm excited to try other items on the menu! The food court dining areas are clean with fresh plenty of seating.

Went with co-workers for lunch and they recommended this place. Great menu items but I was told the way to go was their k-box. I got the pork cutlet gimbap and chose to go with bulgogi as my add-on. Comes with a free bottle of water, which was nice. Only complaint was that I felt the bulgogi was a little dry. Other that it was great. Will definitely be coming back to try other things.

A DELICIOUS FIRST DIVE INTO TOPOKKI! This was my first time trying topokki, and I'm happy to report that it was FANTASTIC. The broth hits a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, and the rice cakes were chewy and soaked through with flavor in every bite. I also appreciated the added fish cakes and the surprise quail egg, which rounded out the dish nicely. As someone who is new to topokki, I do wish the menu offered a brief description of the ingredients. It would be especially helpful for first-timers who aren't familiar with what typically comes in the dish. One small note: whether dining in or taking out, everything is served in a large plastic bowl. Mine got very hot while I was eating at the food-court tables, so I found myself wishing they offered separate dine-in dishware for a more comfortable experience. Overall, though, the flavors absolutely delivered. If you've been curious about topokki, this is a great place to start! I will definitely come back and try some other dishes they offer such as the Korean Sausage and their assortment of Gimbap's!

JAWS TOPOKKI has quickly become my favorite Korean spot. You might be surprised how many food court restaurants are actually better than regular sit-down places, and this one is a great example. For those who haven't tried it, topokki is a classic Korean street food made with chewy rice cakes in a sweet and spicy sauce, usually served with green onions, fish cake, and a boiled egg. JAWS TOPOKKI makes it taste authentic, and the addition of a quail egg is a nice extra. Just a heads up, I ordered the mild, and it was still pretty spicy. They do have other sauce options if you prefer less heat. Their staff was friendly and helpful when I customized my meal. I just wish they would improve their presentation, as the food was served in a giant plastic container. Not only is that bad for both health and the environment, but based on the menu photo, I expected it to come in a nice skillet. Especially considering that all the other restaurants in the food court serve their dishes in authentic Korean serving ware.

My sister brought the Kim bap for our lunch potluck and it was absolutely delicious. The Kim bops were generously filled, colorful, with the right mixes of rice, veg, and protein. It was a big hit and a great potluck item. Please visit to create your own experience.

Always happy to see something new in the HMart food court! I ordered the tuna gimbap ($9.49) and assorted fish cake soup ($9.49). The freshly made gimbap was good and filling. The fish cake soup was filled with fish cakes (some of which I could pass on), though the soup was decent. Even if you eat there, it comes in a plastic takeout container, which makes it a little less pleasant. If it was served in better bowl, it probably would have made a better impression on me. After I ordered, I saw they had a bento box, which would have been perfect. Next time!

Surprisingly delicious!!! Wow, could this be my new favorite Korean spot? The food here was sooo good! I ended up trying a few things: spicy pork gimbap, bulgogi gimbap, pork cutlet gimbap, and Jajang Topokki. All the food was insanely delicious and fresh! Firstly, the gimbap was so aesthetically pleasing. You can tell it was made with care. Also the packaging was great! Loved the box it came in. The roll itself was filled meticulously and all the ingredients seemed fresh. Yummy! Also loved the sauces that came on the side, especially the green one. Truly great gimbap. The Jajang Topokki was sooo good! The spice level was perfect. I pride myself in my spice tolerance and I found this level to be perfectly enjoyable and not too spicy for me. Loved the chewy rice cakes and fish cakes and the crispy things on top -- great texture! Also really enjoyed the addition of a crispy dumpling/mandu, green onions, and a quail egg! And I liked that the sauce wasn't too sweet. Absolutely addicting! I will for sure be coming back and next time I'd love to try the Rose Topokki Soup!! Great job Jaws Topokki!

A 5 star in the H-Mart food court. We had been interested in checking out Jaws a couple weeks ago, but when we went, there was no seating. The food court has several restaurants. We were there at what most consider lunch time. A couple weeks later, we went at 3:30PM and had our choice of tables. We ordered their bulgogi gimbap for me, and the gimbap lunchbox for us to share. What I'm saying might be controversial, but I prefer Jaws Topokki's gimbap to others because they don't make it with the traditional yellow radish. The bulgogi tastes freshly made and hits the sweet spot, literally, just right. The lunchbox was a good choice for sharing. They also give a free bottled water with purchase of the lunchbox. I was able to trade some of my bulgogi gimbap for the pork cutlet gimbap and liked that, too. I am interested in going again, whether we take it for here or to go. They are now hiring as of 9/21/24.

I've been here twice now and I've been impressed both times! First off, it's easy to find and parking is convenient as it is located inside the HMart food court. There are plenty of tables and also high chairs for people with young children like myself. I was really interested in their rice cakes or topokki; however, I do not eat pork or beef. So I asked them if their rose topokki soup contained meat. The chef came out himself and told me that he will be happy to remove the pork belly and give me extra fishcakes instead. Super super nice! I couldn't refuse. 10 minutes later my order was ready for pick up as they called out my number and displayed my number on their TV screen. Flavors were on point! A mixture of rich, creamy, and a little bit of a kick from the spiciness. And as promised, he gave me lots of fish cake. I'm definitely a happy customer and will be returning shortly.

    Sikhye Slushie
    David P.

Ordered the Deep Fried Set (Medium), Topokki Soup, and Sikhye Slushie. The Topokki soup was delicious and the rice cakes were full of flavor from soaking in the broth. The noodle crispies added a nice crunch texture to the chewy rice cakes while the soup had a nice spicy kick. I would order and eat this again. The deep fried set had fried sweet potato, shrimp, squid, seaweed roll, dumpling. It was just okay because the batter was thick so all I really tasted was the fried batter and lack of spice. One of the fried pieces was just a ring of fried batter, which was perplexing because I expected something more. The Sikhye Slushie was sweet and delicious. However, they only filled the slushie barely to the lip of the cup - thus leaving a lot of space in the dome lid. It was disappointing because the picture on the menu shows a fully filled cup all the way to the top of the dome lid.

Jaws topokki is conveniently located inside the Hmart food court! There's plenty of seating and their packaging makes it super easy for to go I love their rose rice cakes, it's cooked perfectly and the spice level was just right for me! The jajang rice cake was also super unique and tasty! * rose topokki (very creamy) * jajang topokki (black bean) * fried shrimp kimbap * fried goods (L) * korean sausage * sikhye slushie

OVERALL : I've had Jaws in Buena Park and LA, so I was really happy to hear that they are now in Irvine! They're perfect for when I'm craving just a simple, delicious meal that is consistent each time. Their menu has all the well-known Korean staples -- kimbap, tteokbokki, fish cake soup, and fried seaweed rolls / veggies. I also like their slushie! Would def come here for a snack / meal whenever I am shopping in the hmart. Service was friendly and patient when we were deciding what to get. PARKING : - They are inside the Hmart food court, so parking is at the grocery store's lot and not too difficult FOOD/DRINKS : - Gimbap Lunchbox - what a good deal for $14.99! The box comes with your choice of Kimbap, choice of meat (bulgogi, spicy pork, or pork cutlet), kimchi, fish cake, side salad, fried seaweed roll, fried potato tempura + a water bottle. Very filling meal for a low price -- I shared this box and was still satisfied. Love the variety and cute presentation. The shrimp tempura kimbap was great with spicy mayo (sauce sold separately). - Slush - they had a BOGO deal for this slush! It was a blue razz and strawberry flavor. Fun and refreshing on a hot day

You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

Best decision of my late night misadventures in a long time! It was very filling (you could probably order one item and split it or have plenty of food for leftovers the next day), it's not inexpensive but it's great value (but then again $20 for a meal out is kind of going rate standard so maybe it is inexpensive or comparable to most anything else you could choose?), and it's great quality. The soup is a combo meal that comes with rice, glass noodles, fish cakes in sauce, and kimchi. You can also modify the spice level to make it more mild or spicy depending on your preference. I don't know why I am so obsessed with the soup but I'm going to think about it for a while because I was 100% lost in the sauce while eating it - after you get halfway you can put the rice, part of the kimchi, and (maybe) the fish cakes in the soup so it gets closer to porridge and break up some of the blood sausage to mix it throughout. Service is friendly and can recommend different things to eat. I got my order as takeout but the dining atmosphere is really good for how close each table is to one another. Everyone still has enough space to be on their own but because you're closer together it kind of feels communal.
