Located in the new HMart, the food court was packed and busy! Paik's noodle stood out to me because I've heard so much about the chef! I also love jjampong! Unfortunately, they were out of jjajangmyeon, so I will have to come back to try next time. The jjampong itself was spicy and flavorful, there was a heaping amount of chilis in it which had an addicting spice, despite the potential stomach ache after. There was a good amount of seafood as well! The noodles were chewy and absorbed the broth well. Being in the food court, ordering at the stand, and finding your own seat may be difficult if the court is busy. Nonetheless, something I would come back to!

I love Paik's jajangmyeon! The black bean noodles are very flavorful and noodles are very chewy. I also got the soy garlic chicken wings for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised how it was! Next time I will def get the chicken wings again. This is a chain opened by a very famous chef in Korea. This booth is located in the North Park H-Mart food court. During peak meal hours it can get very busy. You get a number after you order and they will call out your number for you to pick up your food. After you are done eating you will return your dirty plate to the counter again. It is very convenient to go grocery shopping at H-mart and get food at their food court.

Was craving Chinese and Korean food on a cozy stay-at-home day and decided to try Paik Noodles inside HMart via DoorDash. From the photos, I expected it to be overly saucy, but it was perfectly savory and absolutely delicious! Everything was packed really well for travel, so nothing got messy. Hit the spot--10/10! Insanely tasty, and I only wish I had discovered it sooner. This is now permanently in my food rotation. Thank you, Paik Noodles

Tried this place again and different menu items. We had a better experience this time around. We ordered the cream shrimp, fried pork, and seafood noodles. All excellent and would recommend.

This is located inside HMart as there's a food court inside. Parking can get a bit tight cause of HMart but it's not too bad. I've came here on weekday and weekend evening for dinner and it's usually not busy till it hits 6 or 6:30pm so lots of seating area and not too loud. This has lately been my go-to place for some good jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). It has some familiar original taste from back in Korea so it's been good. And Paik's restaurant in general is pretty popular across Korea so it's great there's some in the US. I will say it is pretty pricey in my opinion but there was another restaurant I liked as well but they were much more overpriced. This place is a bit overpriced too but not too crazy so far. So if you ever want to try some good Korean-Chinese fusion style food, give this place a try. But heads up, they don't serve jjajang rice (black bean rice) anymore due to shortage on eggs.

Paik's Noodle, owned by Chef Jong Won Paik (one of the judges from Culinary Class Wars), provides korean-chinese comfort food in the H-Mart located in North Irvine. And does it deliver!! Paik's is known for its Jajangmyeon (fermented black bean noodle stir-fry) and Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup). Their noodles in all of their dishes are perfectly chewy, and satisfying for hearty noodle lovers. If you're new to these dishes, the noodles are like a mix between an udon and ramen noodle, typically using thick, wheat flour. The Jajangmyeon hits that spot when you want a comforting meal with an umami punch. This dish has a perfect balance of sweet and savory (more on the savory side), with flavors oozing from caramelized onions, the salty, smoky, and decadent fermented black bean, and a generous portion of elongated ground pork adding a nice meaty touch. For meat lovers, you can order this with extra meat, and for vegetarians, they offer the dish without meat at all. They even have a seafood version of this dish! The Jjampong uses the same noodles, swimming in a spicy broth infused with seafood umami. With muscles and chunks of tender squid and the occasional baby shrimp, the soup is so rich in flavor and satisfying. While there are other strong dishes here, the noodles are the star. And each dish is accompanied by Korean pickled radishes to provide fresh, crisp respite between indulgent bites. Sitting within the food court, there is no traditional service, but the staff are friendly and very quick - even during peak hours. It's easy enough to find seating, but during busy times, it's best to secure seating earlier if you can unless you plan to take the food to go. If you're looking for comforting, filling, and delightful noodles to switch up your Asian noodle-ventures between ramens, phos, pad thai, and more, you should explore the menu at Paik's. You might just find yourself hooked by the flavors - after all, that's Chef Paik's most important criteria when judging good food.

Tastes like the Paik's noodle in Santa Clara so delicious. I also love that it's in a food court with other equally yummy stuff and HMart.

jjajangmyeon

I've only tried their jjajangmyeon here but I've had it probably over 30 times over the years. So quick, convenient, and delicious when I get a random jjajangmyeon craving. Will say I wish portions were a little bigger but can't go wrong with this order

Worst kkanpung chicken
Jae L.

The most terrible chicken kkanpoongi I have ever had. It's all batter with the some fatty chicken parts and very tiny bit of chicken meat. It's literally drenched in a ketchupy sauce with no crunch or texture, just chewy and gross. Ordered 2 of these and no one could even eat them.

Satisfying experience at Paik's

This is the best Paik's noodle franchise location I've been to in the US!!! Don't be disappointed with the fast service from a food court located in H-mart as their Chilli jjampong is so so so x good with heaps of seafood on a huge portion large enough for 2 to 3 adults. Adored the chili jjampong and spicy shrimp so much that it overruled the disappointment we had with jjajang myeon. Having cravings for and would love to get more chilli jjampong especially with the weather getting colder.

Paik's Noodle, located inside HMart in Irvine's Northpark Plaza, is a great spot for a quick and flavorful meal. Getting there is easy with plenty of parking in the plaza. When you enter HMart, head to the left past the Tous Les Jours Café bakery, and you'll find Paik's Noodle at the end of the food market hall. The setup here is casual and convenient, with plenty of cafeteria-style seating so you can sit wherever you'd like after ordering your food. This eatery is one of many created by Paik Jong-Won, a well-known South Korean chef, TV personality, and businessman who's a judge on Netflix's Culinary Class Wars. According to the show, he has 2,700 stores world-wide. His restaurants are known for serving crowd-pleasing flavors at affordable prices, and Paik's Noodle lives up to that reputation. I ordered the Meat Jajangmyeon for $13.95, which was highly recommended on the menu. It did not disappoint! This was easily one of the best-tasting Jajangmyeons I've had. The stir-fried pork added a rich, savory depth, and the thick, chewy noodles were cooked to perfection. While it had a good amount of sauce, it wasn't overly saucy--just the right balance to coat the noodles and enhance the dish without overwhelming it. Often, black bean sauce has a strong, pungent flavor, but this one was mild and umami-rich without the overpowering "funk." I couldn't get enough! On a Friday night, I was pleased that there wasn't a long wait; my food was prepared and ready in no time. The food court setting is great if you're dining with friends who may want to try different vendors since there are several other options available nearby. If you're in the area and craving Korean comfort food, Paik's Noodle is definitely worth a visit for its quality, speed, and delicious flavors!

They're located in a high foot traffic plaza. Parking will be difficult to find. Ambiance/Environment: We visited on a Saturday evening around 19:30, and it was extremely busy. Luckily we were seated within 15 min. I love the vibes here. It's a bit loud, but you can still have a conversation. They have a large indoor area and a nice bar. Everything is kept clean. Service: Thank you Mia for taking care of us! She's very attentive, and throughput was surprisingly quick & efficient despite how busy it was. She also checked on us multiple times and refilled our waters. Food & drinks: We absolutely enjoyed everything! Safe to say the hype is real. 1) Curry Crab Omelette - This is my favorite dish. This was presented on a small skillet with rice in a separate bowl. The omelette was drenched in curry. The curry was seasoned well, semi thick consistency, with a hint of spice. 2) Vietnamese Shaken Beef (one w/ garlic noodles & one w/ rice) - I personally prefer the shaken beef at Vox. For whatever reason, the beef seemed to be overcooked bc it was very chewy. The vegetables tasted as expected, and the red rice was really delicious. The garlic noodles were good. 3) Lemongrass Tofu - The tofu was cooked well and seasoned deliciously. 4) 5-Spice Roasted Chicken - Exactly what the description says. The roasted chicken was huge. We weren't sure exactly what it was seasoned with, but we all devoured it. Yum! 5) Lychee Milk Punch - It's not dinner without alcohol. I thought it was pretty strong with the rum & whiskey. It's more on the sweeter end from the lychee & pineapple. The foam wasn't too thick, and it paired well with the drink. Pricing: These are elevated prices. We'll definitely be back for dinner, and we can't wait to try their brunch. Highly recommend joining the Kei Rewards!

The pork belly though was disappointing to the point that we didn't even finish it. The steamed fish was decent, but there were a lot of big bones so you really have to be careful while eating it. It was also pretty expensive, around $55, and the portion size was just okay. The minced pork fried rice tasted like your typical fried rice, nothing memorable. The place gets really packed during dinner time, so expect a wait and maybe come before you get super hungry. It was also kind of hard to get the servers' attention, probably because they were busy with how crowded it gets. Overall, I'd say it's mid, especially for the price.

We came with reservations on Saturday night before Mother's Day. The first thing I thought when I walked in was that there was a live band playing with bad speakers because the music was so loud. But when I saw there was no band, I thought maybe their speakers were broken because the music had that scratchiness to it. Then I realized it was a DJ spinning vinyls with foreign music from the 1950's with that scratchy vintage sound on full blast (think shrill trumpets and shrill voices.) Now don't get me wrong, the music was wonderful and very unique ( again, a lot of foreign songs) with a few I even knew...my husband and I loved most of the songs that were played. HOWEVER not when it's so loud that we can't even hear our own thoughts! I felt annoyed within the first 5 minutes of being seated when my family and I had to keep repeating ourselves, and my husband even went to check the rest of the place to see if it was any quieter anywhere else, but it was blaring music everywhere. I ended up ordering for my whole table of 8 people because we couldn't even hear each other over the music to make suggestions on what to order. My adult kids (all in their 20's) kept apologizing for recommending this place for my mother's day dinner. But oh my, the food was delicious---practically everything I ordered was amazing! OMG the hangar steak skewers, pork belly skewers, iberico pork secreto steak, little gem salad, and their bread with goatmilk -butter were my faves! We also had the short ribs and the pork fried rice with prawns but they were mid...nothing to write home about. This would've been a great place to come have a drink at the bar for happy hour or even late at night on a weekend since they open until 1am on thursday, friday, saturday... but don't come for dinner unless you bring earplugs and learn sign language or know how to read lips because there will be no conversations over dinner unless it's just to the person sitting next to you. Even so, I noticed the young couple next to us looking very annoyed-- they got up and left after quickly finishing up their one cocktail while the speakers blared out an instrumental piece of a girl moaning the whole time until she climaxed. Heck---I'll have whatever SHE'S having lol So plz keep the music down several notches until after 10pm, and let the rest of us enjoy our dinner so that we can sing praises on how delicious everything was. Until you do, I think I'll cross this place off my list for now and revisit again sometime in the FAR future.

The finger foods was Asian‑inspired, with flavors like black sesame, curry, and other creative twists that made each bite feel unique. Every piece was thoughtfully made, rich, and decadent without feeling repetitive, and the presentation was beautiful across the board. It definitely felt like a more elevated, modern take on afternoon tea. The tea itself, however, fell a bit short for me. I ordered a non‑caffeinated chrysanthemum tea, which unfortunately didn't have much depth or flavor. My friend's Darjeeling was better, but still not as rich or complex as I've had elsewhere. Given how strong the Asian inspiration is in the food, it would've been nice to see more thoughtful decaf tea options in that same direction, like decaf sencha, barley tea, or kuromamecha, to better match the concept. Price: The afternoon tea service is prix fixe at around $45 per person, which includes a curated set of savory bites, desserts, and a pot of tea. For the quality and creativity of the food, the price feels pretty reasonable compared to other OC tea services, though the tea itself didn't quite meet the same level as the food. Ambiance: The space is bright, warm, and inviting, with a nice amount of natural sunlight coming in that makes it feel cozy rather than stuffy. There are subtle Asian design elements woven into the décor, giving it a modern, slightly upscale feel without being overly formal. It's a great spot to catch up with friends and linger over tea. Service: Service was good, friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Even during a busy service, staff remained kind and approachable, which added to the overall relaxed vibe. Parking: Parking can take a bit of effort. Since it's located on a busy street in Orange, you may need to circle around the roundabout or park a little farther away and walk over.
