We ordered the rare steak pho to go and live 5 minutes away. When we got home we had to microwave the broth as it was lukewarm. Additionally their broth is very salty which leads me to believe they don't make it with bone broth but with bouillon which is highly disappointing. When you are craving pho, and don't want to make the drive to Little Saigon/ Westminster, PhoTasia is a decent place to go. We got the brisket/tripe Regular bowl for $16.65 and a Large beef pho for $17.65. Pretty hefty prices for a bowl of pho, but it's Irvine so the price of rent is understandable. They do load up the bowls, so the meat and noodle ratio is good. The broth is clear and the pho is flavorful. 4 stars. We also got the B12 Vermicelli combination bowl with grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, and egg roll for $19.95. The bowl was a good size although it was more than what I am used to paying in Westminster, with the selection of restaurants. It was standard and nothing special. I did not like the shredded vegetables in it. The grilled chicken was a little bland, the shrimp were well-seasoned but small (and there were only 3 shrimp), but the egg rolls did not taste fresh or flavorful. 2.5 stars- There was a lot of msg in the fish sauce, which left me very thirsty after the meal. I would not order this dish again. The appetizers were expensive and did not look appealing to me. The picture of the chicken wings looked good so I may try that in the future. Service was good and they seated us right away. The food came out fast and piping hot. There is a lot of seating inside and a few seats outside. The restaurant was pretty busy when we came on a Friday. Overall 3.25 stars. Come back for the phoʻ? ONLY... and maybe chicken wings (which I need to try). Happy eating! read more

The good: I came here after going to the pumpkin patch across the street. I had a pho tai chin (size small) and 3 banh mi empanadas. They have a large outdoor area and adequate indoor tables. I was skeptical about the empanadas but they were great because the dough wasn't that thick dry empanada dough but it was more of a flaky, buttery/greasy pastry dough. The inside was pate and cha (pork patty) and cilantro and pickled veggies were served on the side. It came with an jalapeno aioli dipping sauce. I thought it was creative and fun. I tried a passion fruit lemonade too that was sweet and tangy. The service was prompt and they had a lot of workers. The food came quickly and the workers knew to give me an empty bowl and scissors because I came with toddlers. They had interesting drink/che/dessert combos. The prices were fair. The bad: I would've liked more cilantro and pickled veggies with the empanadas. The interesting: They had a self-check-in tablet in the front. I went with a few friends and it seemed like there was a bit of disorganization with ordering. We all ordered at the same time, but one person got their food immediately while another person got their food 14 minutes later. There are a few things I would say would've improved our experiences.... Things we did not like: 1. The spoons all smelled like chlorine/bleach? I'm not too sure what they can really do about this, but all of the people at our table tasted a pretty noticeable chlorine taste from the spoons 2. I have no idea why Pho-tasia is charging 15.50 for a small and 16.30 for a large... with small portions. the picture shows how shallow the bowl is. Things that were good: 1. It would've been nice to eat with the group altogether instead of waiting 10+ minutes for the last person to get their order. While they offer a generous amount of basil, bean sprouts, and cilantro, the overall amount of pho was disappointing for the price. The taste of the pho checks most people's boxes. It comes with a side of fresh veggies, a small pho broth and a side of fish sauce. I was blown away!! The chicken was tender and juicy, the rice was flavorful and soft (but not in an overcooked way). The only adjustment I'd make is to the broth, which was a tad too salty (but nothing that got in the way of enjoying it). Our side order of eggrolls were piping hot and delicious as well.
