Pork Katsu Curry

Misasa has always been a convenient option inside the Mitsuwa market. The price is still very affordable, but from the picture you can see that the portions are significantly smaller in terms of the amount of katsu provided. Overall, the food tasted ok, but it was not very filling or enough for a full meal. If you want a quick snack, this is a decent option inside the market.

Grilled Salmon - came with a bowl of rice and miso soup

Misasa, can be found inside the Mitsuwa marketplace's food court right next to Hokkaido Ramen Santouka in Irvine. I personally don't order from this restaurant but my husband has for several years. I don't know why he goes there, because every time he buys the food, his opinion is always just "meh". Literally every time. It never fails. He says "meh". I ask why he continues to go to them but he just says "I don't know". I've tried all the food he's purchased which was also just ok for me. Go to the counter, order your food and find a seat/table. It's best to go outside of the lunch and dinner rush. If you don't want to purchase a drink from the restaurant or the market, make sure you bring your own water. Water for the food court is room temp from a faucet. I prefer water filtered by reverse osmosis, so the water for the restaurants are not to my liking at all. What he has ordered most recently; 1) Grilled salmon - The salmon was served with rice, miso soup, a potato salad, sliced unseasoned cucumber and cooked bean sprouts. My son thought the salmon was alright. He ate all of it because he was hungry but he wasn't all that impressed with it. I ate the bean sprouts which I normally love to eat, but this was not seasoned. It seemed like it was only cooked in water. 2) Mixed tempura - shrimp and veggie tempura over rice, served with the tempura dipping sauce. The sauce was very flavored. Heavy in taste, both sweet and salty. It was overpowering the tempura, so we ate them without the sauce. I'm not used to tempura sauce having such a strong taste. That was a first for me. 3) Gyudon - thinly sliced beef over rice, served with red ginger. I didn't get to taste this one but my kids said it reminded them of Yoshinoya's beef bowl. It's a 3 out of 5 for me. The food has consistently been mediocre. I know my husband will be back though. I'll be next door eating the ramen.

Located in Mitsuwa food court. Every time I come here good experience. I like getting there today's special which is Cotto curry over rice with a side salad. My nephew today got a beef bowl, which was absolutely delicious. Service was good. Both meals came up to be $26 which is a great deal.

Quick, easy, and delicious if you're looking to satisfy your Japanese cuisine craving! Located in Mitsuwa's food court - order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. Order dine in or takeout! There's a selection of rice and noodle dishes I've tried most of the menu items and it's always a great portion. Rice bowls even come with miso soup! There's a bathroom located near the food court and there's a busser for all the trays and dishes when you're done.

My wife and I stopped by here at the Mitsuwa food court for Japanese food. I ordered the cold noodles with tempura and my wife the bento with sashimi, tempura, miso soup, with pickles, rice and vegetables. For my dish, the cold noodles were good and satisfied a craving. The tempura though tasted like it had been hanging around awhile waiting for a mouth to feed. The tempura crust was on thick and on the hard side, although the vegetables and shrimp within tasted good. My wife's tempura was the same but the sashimi was fresh and the rice, miso soup and vegetables were well prepared. The gentleman behind the counter was polite and efficient. The ambiance of the Mitsuwa food court, as always, is pleasant. The price for the portion served was reasonable.

I come to misasa to get their pork / chicken Japanese curry rice for under $10. It's decently sized and comes out quickly. Their service has gotten better over the years and I've always had a friendly experience. The restaurant is located inside Mitsuwa's food court. Lots of open seating, just make sure to order before their 7pm closing time.

Chicken Cutlet Curry

Food was great. The chicken wasnt fatty, it was breaded well, and pretty filling. The curry sauce was delicious and not lacking at all. The ratio of food was all very good. There was no wait to order and the food came out quickly. The area is pretty calm and quiet, but I can see it getting busier during lunch hours or the weekend. I would definitely get this meal again.

This spot is inside the Mitsuwa market feels like a hidden gem. The service was quick and the food was really good. We got the beef udon bowl and the pork cutlet bowl. The portions were generous and we also got a side of a small pork soup. The port cutlet was delicious the beef broth was savory. The price was relatively cheap as well. And afterwards you can shop around Mitzuwa. Would recommend to friends.

For $13 inside mitsuwa, I had higher expectations. The beef wasn't that tender and flavorful. Super chewg. The mjso soup was just okay. I came at 12:30 on a Friday and it wasn't too busy. I waited around 7 minutes for the food. Maybe I should've tried something else. Not bad, but nothing apwxial

3.5/5 stars This place is located in the Mitsuwa marketplace. Overall solid curry for the price. The pork cutlet had some moist pieces, but some parts were dry. The curry was flavorful. It wasn't spicy for me, and was on the sweeter side. Portion size was large. Not as good as Maji curry or coco ichibanya per my boyfriend, but still a solid meal. The food came out quickly after ordering, and the staff helped to clean up our trays when we were done.

Tempura and Sashimi

Place is located in the food court in the back corner Mitsuwa Marketplace and is quite the hidden gem for quick yet affordable Japanese food. The restaurant offers excellent variety from Japanese curry to sushi. The chicken curry is solid and crunchy. The tempura sashimi combination is also an excellent choice to get a variety of options including a side of miso soup and rice. The food court also has plenty of seating if you wish to sit in and eat, or you can grab food to go. Either way, the food is made and bought out fairly quickly with excellent service. Nice place to eat for a quick lunch or dinner and definitely great to place get an affordable meal while shopping.

Not bad for what you get and quicker service compared to other restaurants in the plaza if you come during a weekend afternoon. We got the chicken cutlet curry combo and some udon combo (I forget which one). The chicken cutlet was a little dry but still was pretty good for a quick breakfast. The udon also came with warm and comforting broth. Overall, not bad if you're looking for a quick meal.

Parking: Misasa is located in the food court of Mitsuwa which is located at the Irvine Heritage Plaza. It shares parking with a lot of other businesses and parking might be a bit difficult. Interior: The food court is rather small compared to the other Mitsuwa food courts that I have been to. It might be difficult to get a seat during meal times. Food: I got the Yakiniku Beef Bowl. Nothing really stood out in particular so it was alright. It came with a side of miso soup, edamame, and a pickled side dish. The portions were decent and relatively cheap.

We joined the Yelp waitlist about 30 minutes after opening and waited around an hour to be seated. Since it was prime-time Saturday dinner and the restaurant is tiny, the wait made sense. Pro tip: come 30 minutes before opening or join the waitlist early if you can! White Corn with Truffle Salt -- 5/5 A must-order. I wasn't expecting much, but it was absolutely perfect and so good with drinks. Pork Cutlet Curry -- 4/5 Classic katsu curry flavor, but the breading was a little on the harder and darker side. Maybe just a bad batch, but still really good. Bluefin & Salmon Sashimi -- 5/5 Order it with the pickled wasabi. It melts in your mouth -- SO good. Purple Sweet Potato Fries -- 4/5 A great appetizer and perfect for snacking with drinks. Beef Sukiyaki -- 5/5 Served with a soft-boiled egg, tofu, mushrooms, and kimchi. I usually don't love sweet beef with kimchi, but this was perfectly seasoned. The BEST. Saving the best for last -- the owner and her team are the sweetest ladies. They work fast, check in often, and you can really tell they care about their customers becoming regulars. Best izakaya in OC! Thank you, Habuya, for a wonderful dinner.

We had the Sexy Roll for sushi, mixed tempera, Hoi-Ko-Ro, Breast w/Ohba & Yuzu peppers, thigh with sauce, miso pork belly w/green onions, prime rib skirt, Japanese beef, kabocha & bacon asparagus. The portions are small but filling. The peppers in one of dishes was so hot. The waitress said it's a 50/50 chance it 's beyond hot. We enjoyed everything we had. The assorted tempura was good, they had a lot of variety and I enjoyed the mushroom, asparagus, and potato! The shrimp tempura portion is very generous in size and was good. The filet katsu don was amazing, and I like that it came with a small bowl of miso soup! It's always nice to have that as a complimentary side dish.
