They don't cook the Zaru soba right so there's a bunch of small pieces of soba mixed in... they either stirred too much when cooking or used broken pieces of soba noodle to begin with. It's not very pleasant eating small pieces of soba because it's hard to dip in the sauce to splurge properly. Wafu Hamburg plate is a popular option for my kids. I'm not sure what went down with this establishment but they need major quality control Impressed with the history I had with them with its original location, I always had good impressions with this place even at this location, For its low price and value meals. Unfortunately their quality has gone way down. I say this not just from one experience but two. What he has ordered most recently; 1) Grilled salmon - The salmon was served with rice, miso soup, a potato salad, sliced unseasoned cucumber and cooked bean sprouts. My son thought the salmon was alright. He ate all of it because he was hungry but he wasn't all that impressed with it. I ate the bean sprouts which I normally love to eat, but this was not seasoned. It seemed like it was only cooked in water. 2) Mixed tempura - shrimp and veggie tempura over rice, served with the tempura dipping sauce. The sauce was very flavored. Heavy in taste, both sweet and salty. It was overpowering the tempura, so we ate them without the sauce. I'm not used to tempura sauce having such a strong taste. That was a first for me. 3) Gyudon - thinly sliced beef over rice, served with red ginger. I didn't get to taste this one but my kids said it reminded them of Yoshinoya's beef bowl. The curry is very flavorful and delicious. It pairs perfectly with the katsu, which was very crispy even after it had been half covered in curry. They are very generous with the amount of rice and salad. This place is definitely very good for the price that you pay, after tax I only paid $11 for my plate. There was not a lot of people in line when I went, so I got my food pretty quick. The parking can be difficult if you are trying to park right in front of Mitsuwa. In addition, I'm pretty surprised by the cost of our meal, and was pretty affordable. For the 2 of us, our bill was about $25, which is cheaper than Olive Garden. The service was pretty fast overall as well. For a place in a Japanese market, it felt like we were in a real sit down restaurant, which was nice.
