Just ate at Nova and had the best experience. Great vibes, DELICIOUS food, and our waiter Dennis was GREAT! Will be coming back for sure. Ps: Try everything on the menu

Our family of 8 celebrated Father's Day dinner at Nova, and we had a wonderful experience. Make sure to validate your parking, they have plenty of parking available. The restaurant itself is beautiful, classy, and has a great ambiance. The hosts and servers were all friendly and attentive. A special shoutout to our server for recommending the Father's Day special; otherwise, we probably would have spent much more! We ordered the tomahawk special with two additional steaks for $120, Floating Garlic Noodles, Sashimi Platter, Pork Belly Bao, Dragon Breath sushi roll, sinigang wings, and for dessert, the Matcha tiramisu and Chocolate Ganache Cake . We also enjoyed their $5 draft beers and sake. For a family of 8, our total came out to less than $500, which was a great value considering the quality and amount of food. Everything we ordered was delicious, the service was excellent, and the overall atmosphere made our Father's Day celebration extra special. We'll definitely be back!

Wanting elegant, upscale Asian fusion food? I've always been looking for a stylish spot for celebrations... until I found Nova. Located right next to the Hyatt Regency Orange County and just minutes away from Disneyland Resort!! Check out ths Dragon's Breath! What. The. Flame. And speaking of celebrations... we're here celebrating our first Catalina trip! I mean, yeah... we're eating this fresh sashimi after spending the day looking at fish. The irony is not lost on us. So let's get into some meat! Kung Pao Chicken and a Chashu Bowl. Taking familiar favorites and presenting them in a refined way. Also, the Cornstar Cream Mocktail. So trendy! IG: socalhkfoodies

This place is dangerous. I knew that eating here might cause a gout flare up. My wife had picked this place for Mother's Day brunch. I didn't have a choice. They had all the high purine foods possible for a flareup like crab, shrimp and prime rib. All favorites of mine. They had breakfast items like sausage, bacon and waffles. I don't know if they do this weekly, but, they did have a guy distributing the crab legs. Our empty plates were regularly cleared. They have a good brunch. Take the gout pill prior to eating here. You can eat more without fear.

Finally! This restaurant has been on my saved list for years and I finally got to go. As a walk-in on a Friday night I only had to wait 10 or 15 minutes to be seated. The restaurant did seem to be shortstaffed, but everyone was working as the best as they could. OK, let's get into the food review part: Yellowtail and jalapeño- 4/5 Tuna tartare -3/5 Miso cod-3/5 Fried chicken bao-4/5 Floating noodles-3/5 Baked scallop roll-4/5 Spicy tuna on crispy rice-3/5 Molten chocolate cake-4/5 Mango mochi-5/5 The food was good, but not great. I really appreciated the fact how fast the food came, but the noodle dish was a little on the cold side and some of the flavors of the dishes just didn't excite me as much as I had hoped for. I also ordered a couple of cocktails that were reasonably priced around $15 each that took a long time to arrive and were not good in my opinion but I kept them because it would take too long for something else to come out. My server Jay did a great job with being attentive. The aesthetics of this restaurant are nice and there is a private dining area, which would be a great to host a special occasion but for me personally I'm not in the biggest rush to come back. If I do come back, it would be for their homemade mango mochi, which was amazing along with their fried chicken bao.

Saw all the great reviews so we decided to try this place for Father's Day. Being close to Disneyland I was worried about the parking, but they have a parking lot that they share with the Residence Inn that they validate so parking is easy. The ambiance is really nice and the staff is very friendly. They had a Father's Day special which included three steaks that was a very good deal. Unfortunately we asked for medium rare but they all came out medium well so the only steak that tasted good was the rib eye. I would recommend trying a steak as the flavors were good. We ordered a bunch of sushi that were good (not great). I did really enjoyed their vegetarian fried rice with egg served on a hot plate and their pork belly charshu bowl. We shared the strawberry panna cotta and it was ok.

What a horrible place. Besides the ambiance which is great! Everything else is horrible. It took the waiter 20 minutes to get a draft beer. That's was the 1st thing I ordered. Food: ordered a sushi which was horrible and seemed like it was pre-made was put in freezer and defrost and served it to us. The chow mean was dry no flavors at all. It took the waiter forever to get soy and chillies sauce by that time the food was cold. The edamane was cold. The veggie and tofu was k, the tofu was crispy but no flavors very bland. The drinks were okay. Nothing special. Overall I would never come back to this place.

Ambiance - 5 Staff- 5 Food - 4.5 We made a reservation cause they allowed dogs and we wanted yummy food. The restaurant is gorgeous. When you walk into the lobby, there are coy fish projected on a wall and silvery things hanging from the ceiling to look like you're underwater. There are two sides to the restaurant. One side is very sleek and has the sushi bar and the other side is more loungy with a regular bar. We sat outside since we had the pup. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a few items and had some drinks. They had a nice sale list as well. Sautéed edamame - yummy and garlicky. Zesty wonton with sauce on the side. I can't do spicy so I just dunked mine in some soy sauce. It was good. Chili oil wonton- my husband really liked these. 30 piece sashimi- nice big pieces of fish. The fish were split into 3 pieces each. Instead of all different types of fish, there were a few they repeated. They were good but usually when we get sashimi platters, we get different types of fish. We would certainly return and try some other items.

Really cool ambiance with plenty of seating for large parties. Friendly hostess and waiters. Food menu is extensive with great gluten free options too! The cocktails were yummy and our favorite dish was the beef short rib (pictured). A few dishes lacked bold, fresh flavors. Otherwise, awesome food. Looking forward to coming back!

I originally posted a very critical review of Nova Kitchen & Bar due to several significant issues, specifically regarding the billing and service. However, I'm updating my rating because the management reached out to me directly to make things right. The manager was professional, apologized sincerely for the oversight, and took the time to correct the billing errors. It's nice to see a business being proactive about feedback, and I appreciate them standing behind their service. Based on this recovery, I'd be open to giving them another shot.

Cutely decorated. This place is more for vibes/ aesthetic and less for food. Would recommend reservations. Octopus w/ Japanese Herbs- 5/5: This was the highlight of the dinner. The sauce was citrusy and refreshing. Kung Pao Chicken- 3/5: Tastes like your average westernized kung pao dish. On the sweet side. There was a lot given and came with lots of rice. Double Hamachi Roll- 3/5: The sushi was mid, nothing special. Dan Dan Noodle- 3/5: Doesn't taste like your average Dan Dan noodles because of the Szechuan sauce. There was a bit too much sauce making it too salty and hard to eat. I think it would've been better if there was less sauce.

    Daria K.

This restaurant is a great stop if you're looking for a trendy vibe and a cute location! The bar is huge and full of tons of delicious cocktails, and the food is tasty also. The happy hour is super worth it! Our server, Jimmy, was very attentive and kind, and made sure we were well taken care of. Add this to your next visit itinerary!

I loved: Fresh Wasabi Toro W/ Caviar Chocolate Ganache Cake Scallops W/ Uni Mushroom Toast I really liked: Freshwater Unagi Yellowtail Belly Sweet Shrimp Sunrise In Kyoto Toro Handroll Sashimi Salad Salmon With Fried Shallots And Truffle Oil South Korean Halibut Sealed Salmon W/ Pico De Gallo I liked: Ooo La Lada Green Tea Mochi Bluefin Tuna A great place to start is the Sashimi Salad. It's very refreshing, the fish is clearly high quality, and it sets the tone for the meal perfectly. The chef grinding fresh wasabi tableside is a thoughtful touch that you don't see often and it genuinely elevates the experience. Speaking of which, the Bluefin Tuna pairs beautifully with it. It's not the best I've had, but it's still a solid bite. Freshwater Unagi is better than your average unagi. Flavorful and well seasoned. The Yellowtail Belly is lightly buttery and a very satisfying bite. The Sweet Shrimp has some roe on it, is slightly sweet, and feels a bit more substantial than the other pieces. The Toro With Caviar is a standout. Super smooth texture and incredible flavor. The Toro Handroll is also quite good, though it doesn't quite reach the heights of the toro cut itself. Mushroom Toast delivers amazing umami and I love that it comes as two pieces, making it a more substantial course. An excellent change of pace. Scallops With Uni is super tasty. The flavors of both hit you instantly and everything tastes incredibly fresh. The South Korean Halibut has a clean flavor profile, though it's slightly difficult to chew. The Sealed Salmon W/ Pico De Gallo is a fun and tasty bite. The pico is a creative addition. The Salmon With Fried Shallots And Truffle Oil is good too, though the truffle oil is a slight contrast against the salmon and shallots. Still enjoyable overall. For drinks, the Sunrise In Kyoto is dangerously good. Not overly sweet and you can barely taste the alcohol. Very easy to over-order. The Ooo La Lada is a rum cocktail that runs a little strong but is still tasty. On the dessert side, the Chocolate Ganache Cake is rich and oozy with very heavenly chocolate. The ice cream and chocolate crumble complement it wonderfully, and the fresh fruit adds a bright, bursting finish. The Green Tea Mochi is light and pleasant, though the flavor gets a bit lost after such a robust meal. Our server Calvin was exceptional. He was consistently on top of clearing plates and bowls, kept waters filled, and checked in regularly throughout the meal. He even brought moist towelettes right before I was about to ask for them. That's S+ service. I would only suggest that the chef wipe the serving stone between courses so the pictures turn out better haha. The ambiance is stunning. We asked for a quick tour and learned that each room is themed after a different element. The decor is beautiful and thoughtful throughout, and there's even a hidden karaoke room tucked away. Nova Kitchen & Bar clearly puts as much care into its atmosphere as it does its food.

This restaurant…read moreisn't new, they've actually been here for 10 years but they just introduced a new all you can eat menu which is what intrigued me and my boyfriend to come try it out! The price for AYCE is $37.95 which is pretty fair, it included limited special items such as sashimi, sweet shrimp, jumbo scallop, amberjack, salmon belly, and more. Although the special items were limited, having one of each is enough given the large variety on the menu. (Pro tip, come with a big group of friends so you can have the pieces from those who don't want their portion) Everything was super fresh and the presentation was beautiful. You can tell the chef puts a lot of effort into every plate. My favorite items were the salmon belly, sweet shrimp sushi, and baked green mussels. So buttery and delicious! We ended our meal with the fried banana ice cream. I thought the fried banana would be heavy after a big meal, but it didn't feel that way at all. It was yummy, creamy and refreshing. It's hard not to feel heavy after having ayce but luckily we ordered just the right amount of everything! The restaurant is small but offers a good amount of seating from tables to a sushi bar and even a small patio. The parking lot is small since it shares a parking lot with a few other businesses, but i've never had a problem finding parking here. The service was absolutely amazing and genuinely made our entire dining experience better, our server Stella and Chef Min were the best! The restaurant was empty when we got there but I really hope that changes soon because this is one of my new favorite sushi restaurants in OC!

I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants over the years, and this place easily ranks in my Top 3. Every piece was exceptionally fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I have to admit, I'm usually not a fan of tuna. But the moment I tasted the tuna here, I thought, "Have I been eating fake tuna all my life?" It was that good--clean, rich, buttery, and unlike anything I've had before. Another pleasant surprise was the California roll. I've eaten countless California rolls, but this was the first time I had one made with real crab instead of imitation crab. The difference was incredible, and I was genuinely impressed. The restaurant itself is stunning. The interior design is elegant and thoughtfully done. You can find fresher cuts of sashimi at an actual sushi place so I recommend focusing more on the meat. Side dishes and appetizers were a little too heavy and lacking, so we mostly ate wagyu and prawns. The green tea tasted like hot tap water which really puts the "fusion" in Japanese fusion. The ice cream at the end was tasty though. Overall, I'd stick to Mr. BBQ or X-Fish for AYCE.

The service was 50/50. Some of the pop working were super helpful and friendly and others, it felt like when they brought you food they practically tossed it on the table or didn't ask if you needed anything else. I'm not sure if it's because everything is ordered from a machine table side. I did appreciate the waiter going over the menu and the limitations on certain items. The appetizers on the menu that I tried were a miss. I had the shumai dumplings and they were horrible. They did not taste like shumai and were mushy. The chicken thigh yakitori was nicely grilled and the sauce had great flavor, but it was greasy. The garlic shrimp was good but it was a total catfish because they looked nothing like the menu I really enjoyed the carpaccio options they had but without the upgraded ayce you're limited to two orders of two pieces only. The fish was fresh and I loved the sauces and garnish they added to the overall flavor. The salmon belly and yellowtail belly nigiri were amazing and I loved that they don't give you a huge chunk of rice with it. I was able to taste the fish. I had a variety of their no rice rolls but in my opinion, a lot of them are one dimensional. I didn't care much for the crab mixture they use in their rolls. It was too sweet and was lacking texture. Even the veggie roll was a let down. It was far from a veggie roll with crunchy fresh veggies, instead it had a glop of avacado, soggy cucumber, and a single soggy piece of asparagus. The ambiance is chill. They have music playing in the background and it's a vibe. There's table, booth, bar, and outdoor seating. They can definitely accommodate a large crowd but I would call ahead to ensure you don't have a crazy wait. This place got pretty crowded as the night went on. Overall, it was an ok experience and I don't think I'd consider eating here again because it took over 10min to get the check and over 20min to get the last roll requested. I ended up requesting a manager because we confirmed the last order was in but it never came! We could walk out and not pay, that's how disconnected they are.
