100% worth the hype. Managed to snag a reservation for a Monday night a few weeks ago and was very excited! Parking was easy to find (and you can get it validated--I was very happy about that in my tipsy state). Anyways, we were seated very quickly and WOW, the vibe was awesome. I also put on the reservation we were celebrating my birthday and they were so so sweet!! A nice keepsake card, complimentary shots, and "happy birthdays" all around. My friend and I were sat at the bar and had Jordan as our main waiter (and someone was training with him--shoutout to them, too!) and Erica as our bartender. The vibe was so fun and intimate and everyone was SO kind. The drink menu is VAST. One of the largest I've seen and, of course, lots of rum-based drinks. My friend and I really enjoyed our choices (I got the Miehana). They're also HUGE. We also had the Sisig Pork tacos (as recommended by Erica) and the deviled eggs. Both choices were absolutely delicious. Decor is so fun and I definitely want to come back and check out the captain's quarters area. Also, the bathrooms are very, very fun. Overall, just a great time to celebrate a special occasion or just for fun! Kind staff, large menu...definitely will return with more friends :)

I'm a tiki bar enjoyer and I'm happy to have finally made a stop at strong water! Stopped by after an event next door at requiem on a Friday night. Was told it'd be a 45min to an hour wait so decided to just sit outside to be seated immediately. You miss out on the interior of the tiki bar, but I also liked the quaint vibe that the outdoor seating had! The servers were pretty attentive despite being seated outside and very informative. The drinks were DELICIOUS, I really liked the birds of paradise drink that I got. The food was good, but the loaded tots definitely need more sauce to it. Felt on the dry side. Would have liked to have tried more of their menu if I was hungrier! We were nearly done with our drinks and food when the host lets me and my bf know that bar seating opened up inside but we'd only be able to sit there for an hour. I had mentioned to them before being seated that I had never been before so it was nice of them to remember and invite us in!!! The inside is incredible! They really nailed down the tiki bar vibe without looking too gimmicky. It's got a nice classy flare to it. The bartenders even encouraged exploring the inside while they made the drinks, including taking a look at the bathrooms!! I thought it was funny, but they weren't kidding!! Every inch and corner of this bar is so detailed and the experience feels so immersive. Had another drink inside and asked them to make me something similar to the birds of paradise and they did not disappoint! Really glad they got to squeeze us inside on such short notice! I can't wait to go back, reservations are strongly recommended for sure!

Stopped in for the fun atmosphere and drinks at Strong Water and would love to go back to try the food. We made reservations as it can be tough to walk in so I would plan ahead if you don't want to wait. The atmosphere totally transports you to tiki heaven. It's dark and moody inside and you completely forget you're in the middle of Anaheim. Our drinks were delicious but pricy and our choices weren't heavy on the alcohol but that's ok, visiting is all about the vibe and experience. Parking is either on the street or there's a parking garage about a block away that's convenient. If you love tiki bars, this one is worth a visit.

Curbside pickup #ive lost count. Covid19 aka "may we uninstall and reinstall 2020, we seem to have a virus" August update: new menu Online order via tock on their page. In my head it wasn't that much. when i arrived to pickup it was like.....uhhhhh oops? this is fine it's fine! 1-prime minister dog or shipwreck dog? (receipt names don't match the attached paper menu just fyi) 2-Commanders smoked turkey leg / Prime Minister smoked turkey leg 3-Admirals corn cup 4-Captains melt $15- 1/2lb wagyu angus beef patty w sweet pepper, grilled onions, cheese, candied peppered bacon & polynesian sauce on toasted monterey jack sourdough bread. +togarashi fries 5-Admirals pickle So far i've only inhaled half the melt. and i must say IT IS delicious. Obviously with covid takeout i imagine if eaten fresh off the grill the sourdough would be crunch exterior melty soft. BUT even with a 35minute travel time home, the steam builds up inside so kinda soggy, it's still so yummy! so much wagyu beef so juicy plus the slightly spicy sauceOoMPh just slap me! the fries are like sliiiiightly spiced. meh. i've never been a fan of fat steak fries. too chonky. will try the tots next cuz who doesn't love fluffy crumbled tater tots!??? will update as i eat my way thru the rest but the big juicy dog is being eyed ---- Loco Moco burger $14 - is even better than opening week. It actually seems flatter now, buts it's every bit as delicious and better. which if you take into account you can't eat it fresh cuz u have to take it home (25-30min drive for me), then it would've been awesome right off the grill. It's downright juicy, oddly i love the frisée? it's like thinly crunchy which turns out really nice especially when it's seeping with whatever that thousandislandy looking sauce with the faintest of spicy hints (not actually spicy, the sweet savory juices drown it), however it makes the super soft bun mushy which makes your hands ultra messy (do not touch your phone or your face, that's how viruses get passed around). Egg was nestled in the center so when i popped it, the oozy goodness enhanced the already amazing burger. Comes with a side of polynesian mac salad which is nothing like blind rabbits truffle mac n cheese but this mac salad is cold with fun crunchy bits and a hint of a spicy kick. Banana Bread $8 - yo i do not know how they came up with this but this item is godly. the bread itself is good, dense, sweet like lvl3 delicious. but the explosive flight to lvl7 is from the super caramellyish thick sauce and the crunchy pieces of whatever sprinkled about. PLuS whatever that white cream is, all together is a super amazing experience. Saturn 2 for $22 - alright i thought this was the 1 of the 4 drinks that i liked from opening week. the online order thing is weird, it LISTED as 2 for $22, but when you add 2 to your cart, it charges you $44, so naturally i thought each order is a set of 2 right? so i order 1 (set) for $22. And that's where it got weird, the package contained 1 pouch which appears like 1 drink of saturn BUT they also gave me 2 ziploc bags of ice (1 of which was leaking), 2 straws, 2 sets of garnish (i LOVE that even tho its to go, they're giving you the garnish even tho it was 2 leaves and 2 flowers). Now with 1 pouch tho it's either you share the same drink (very anti-social distancing) or you bring your own glass to split it....and then ice+garnish it. anyways um...it's strong, like just out the front door strong, like beast claw just ravaged your face strong. every sip, i felt the tonic punch me in the face and i would fade away a little. The taste? really wasn't appealing to me, but i paid $22 for it so i'm gonna drink it fml. IT JUST wouldn't end though! i kept sipping and sipping and oh lord my face kept getting punched so i was like....alright let's just man up and down this sucker. BAD MOVE. X_X. Brain decided to take a 5 hour nap. Woke up...and ITS STILL UNFINISHED!!! PLZ JUsT END!! 2nd curbside attempt -Loco Moco Burger -Banana bread cake x i'm calling it quits on the drinks. it's just not the same level as tBR (older sibling) Parking: structure just north of the block is a couple bucks an hour ticket place. and supposedly there's a "free 2hr" corner lot across from them/ice rink but it's very limited in space. Service: always a pleasure. For curbside they'll bring it out to the curb but the street doesn't really have per se like an expanded area to wait, so if you're there for long, you could totally be blocking traffic cuz people are turning into the small 2 becoming 1 lane street. And i hate idling my car, 10minutes of idling? We're killing the planet (and she's having her revenge now). Nah i'll park at the open lot and just walk over, i need the exerFRIES anyways. -apparently i saved this andnever posted I apology. Im coming back today and i anticipate itll still be awesome.

Wow I had no idea such a great gem was right under my nose in Anaheim! Their name isn't on the building so it's inconspicuous, but the inside is decorated wonderfully. It's made to look like you're in a ship, which coincides with their concept of sailing to different parts of the Pacific Islands and Asia. So their menu reflects that. They've got crispy lumpia, coconut sambal chicken and a wagyu patty burger. But for us the star of the show was the sisig tacos. Absolutely incredible! They had great pork flavor but were somehow still incredibly light. All of the food and drinks were delicious. The staff were also kind and helpful. I hear the menu also changes every few months, so I've got a great excuse to come back! I've already recommended this place to my family and hopefully they'll get the chance to experience this place too!

This was my third time dining at Strong Water - my friends and I came on a Friday night in October 2025 and had an incredibly enjoyable time. The waiters are always so friendly and knowledgeable - one example is that I cannot consume alcohol too well, so I prefer mocktails. They graciously informed me of which of their numerous seasonal cocktails had mocktail versions which I was both impressed by and grateful for. As my friends and I love food, we decided to order a variety of dishes to share. The cannonball tots were soooo savory and delicious, an absolutely delightful dish. The straightforward Thai deviled eggs and fresh hamachi crudo were lovely as well. I did enjoy my loco moco burger but I think next time I will try to get something more fun. In particular I was impressed by the Vietnamese short rib soup - incredibly savory and hearty, especially on a cold evening. And finally, the banana bread dessert was such a fantastic way to end the night. The creamy yet mild banana flavor is something I still think about. Overall, this place is awesome! The interior, the service, and the food are all top tier.

Came here for the first time for our anniversary. Great experience, would come back! We made reservations a few weeks in advance on opentable. We reserved the Captains quarters, which is ~6 bar seats and a few tables at the end of the restaurant. A bit more intimate, but the whole venue looks pretty similar experience. We found 90min parking on Center St, so we did not try their parking (they offer validation at the garage a block away). Erica (our bartender/server) was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. The specialty cocktails selection is extensive and ours were made strong. Food was great, the highlight was the cannonball tots.

Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 Drinks: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Parking: 4/5 After another visit, Strong Water continues to be my favorite tiki bar! Gale and Iris took care of us during this latest visit in the Captain's Quarters, and I already cannot wait to return!

Drinks 5 for originality and taste. All fresh and amazing. Ambiance 5 for uniqueness and visual. Food 4 while good it was ordinary and I was slightly disappointed in the spice level. It also would be nice to have more small plates to go with the amazing cocktails. Would we go back? Yes with a plan to have Uber so I could imbibe as much as possible in the two hour reservation limit.

Strong Water is a fantastic spot for a date or small group -- the ambiance is immaculate and the tiki theme is genuinely one of the best in California. Food's great too, even if it leans pricey. So why the 1 star? I came here with a group of 9 for my birthday on March 24th. We've been before, and last time there was a $20/person deposit that went toward the bill -- so when we saw $10/person to reserve, we assumed the same deal. Nope. Turns out it's a flat booking fee for large parties, not a deposit. I've never seen a restaurant do that, and to find out, you have to click "read more" on a collapsed section buried in the reservation flow -- while OpenTable itself advertises free reservations right below it. When the bill came, we brought it up with the manager expecting the $90 to be credited. He technically wasn't wrong -- it is disclosed -- but "hidden under a read more" and "clearly stated" aren't the same thing. He also asked us to step outside so we wouldn't "embarrass ourselves in front of our guests." The conversation wasn't heated. I simply said it was an unusual practice. It gets better. The "complimentary" birthday shots were added to the bill at around $80, then discounted off -- but the 22% auto-gratuity is calculated before the discount. So you're tipping on drinks you didn't pay for. Add tax on top and those free shots cost us about $26 extra, on top of the $90 reservation fee. Strong Water, I've genuinely enjoyed celebrating here before. But this is not the place to bring a large group unless you enjoy paying for the privilege of being seated, tipping on comped items, and being asked to take your mild frustration outside. Disappointing from a spot I used to recommend without hesitation.

I love a good speakeasy that has a great balance between great ambiance & great drinks. This place does both very well. The theme is sort of mix between a tiki bar & a pirates of the Caribbean type of thing. They have a huge menu selection so there is always something for everyone. They also offer mocktails & low alcohol options, which is nice. Overall, we had 2 rounds of drinks & a banana pudding. Everything was good. Also, I loved that they had set up a happy birthday card on the table as we were celebrating my friend's birthday & also gave us free shots, loved this little touch for a special occasion!

This is the best Tiki Bar in Southern California. Oh. I guess I gotta write more. ...The BEST Tiki Bar in Southern California. :) Full Stop. The ambiance is right on par for a tasteful tiki bar with plenty of immersive decor and music. The food here is astonishingly delicious which pairs perfectly with whatever drink you desire. I had a terrific birthday here the other night with a special welcome and a very professional and sincere staff. Treat them with equal respect and they will take care of you, trust me. They make your drinks-- so I'll say it again-- treat them with respect and soak in the tiki vibe. :) I got the Loco Moco Burger which did not disappoint at all. We also got the shrimp and that was equally delicious. The whole menu sounded great honestly! The drinks of course were the best in the business. The Classics are by far the best, tried and true tiki drinks of which you cant go wrong. Any specialty drinks are worth trying if you've done the entire menu too. Reservations are recommended before coming here. Do yourself a favor and celebrate something nice with your significant other at this tiki bar. It's not big on the inside and its a special place for sure. Not bad at all Strong Water! I am sold!

Strong Water Anaheim Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Strong Water Anaheim

Hi! As the current brunch menu does not list drinks, I'm curious if we have brunch reservations for the patio, may we still order/enjoy alcohol on the patio from the bar menu? We will have our kiddo with us (hence the patio rese).

The only change for brunch is the food. Full drink menu is available at all times! Enjoy!

Is it possible for 2 people to dine at a table instead of being forced to sit at the bar?

With the new Resy table selection, the only table option for 2 is a high top in the Captain's Bar. IMO, the Captain's Bar is better than the dining area bar and usually where my husband and I select when it's just us going as a party of 2.

Can we dine with children in the outside area?

Pretty sure inside or out is 21+ to keep with the license and overall vibes.

Do you guys have mocktail options?

I have been trying to get a Friday or Saturday 5pm reservation.... There is never one avail online , or when I call.... None even avail for weeks in advance..... any tips?

You have to book reservations the second they become available, usually the beginning of the month. Watch their IG stories for reminders about when they post the future month. 2 tops now will always have bar seats as the tables are for 3+.… Read more

Just for clarification, can kids dine there?

You can enjoy the outdoor patio with your kiddos . They just can't come inside 21+. Same wonderful menu

Does Sunday Brunch offer the full drink menu or just the 4 drinks listed on the current brunch menu?

They have a full drink menu. They even made a special mocktail for my cousin who was allergic to pineapple.

Do you guys still have curbside pick up?

No, I don't think they offer this option. It's dine-in.

Where's the best place to sit?

Each section will give you a different feel and it also depends on the number of people in your party where you're seated, but I do like the bar seating best.

    Is there happy hour here?

No, there is not a happy hour here.

Does this place have a hidden speakeasy bar?

No but the whole bar feels like a hidden speakeasy!

Do you have to be 21 to dine in?

    Yes.

Do they do to go orders?

Yes. And they also have to-go cocktails.

When will the Taro Colada be available again? #BestCocktail

It's back now!! Just walked past the posted menu today, October 19th.

What time do they stop serving food?

Monday to Thursday 5pm to 10pm Friday 5pm to 11pm… Read more

Can anyone find a phone number for Strong Water?

There is no listed phone number for the location. You would need to email them or reach out in social media. They are very responsive.

Is there any kind of dress code?

There didn't seem to be. Everyone I saw was at least wearing pants and closed-toe shoes.

Is this 21 and up, or all ages for the main dining room?

    21 and up!

    Do they require reservations?

Reservations are not required, but are recommended. Bar seats are usually set aside for walk-ins but you still may end up waiting since there is limited seating.

Do you sell your own tiki mugs? Thanks in advance!

They do! You can order certain drinks with their mugs for a higher price.

Unfortunately, the inside of the Tiki Bar was closed for repairs/upgrades, but we ate on their very pleasant outdoor patio, and luckily, the weather was lovely. I'm not that into Hawaiian type food, no offense to Hawaiians whatsoever, so I found the menu to be a bit limiting. Since I just had a poke bowl the prior night, I didn't want another, even though it was probably what I would've ordered. Most other dishes were with pork, which I don't eat. Instead, I ordered chicken tenders, which is so NOT what I would EVER order, but I did on this day. The chicken was not overly greasy, and it had good flavor. The fries were even better. The poke bowl looked gorgeous, and the 3 others who got that said it was delicious, although not nearly as much salmon as they were hoping for... and it had way too much rice. (Those of us who had poke bowls from the previous night had loads of ahi tuna and the perfect amount of rice.) My husband enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger, something I'd never get. Not a fan of bacon AT ALL. My grandchildren got the chicken tenders like their grandma. :-) We ate our food to being serenaded with live music on the patio. Nice touch. I think most people come here to drink cocktails, although we didn't since we were about to make a long trek home up the I-5. I probably won't eat here again when/if we stay at this hotel, but it served its purpose when we needed it.
